The service and ambiance are nice. Our server was great. I dined with my husband outside as it was a beautiful day. The food was ok. My husband had the fish and chips. The French fries looked as though he got the bottom of a bag and therefore quite disappointing. Hard sticks of fries. The fish was ok. Not the best type of fish for fish and chips. I ordered the filet mignon with a Red wine glaze at medium rare. It was served medium, but still tender. Overglazed which overpowered the filet. Otherwise I couldn't taste the meat, which seemed to lack natural flavor, probably due to it being overcooked or overpowered.l. I have had it with the other sauce as well. Which I would have preferred on the side. A good filet mignon doesn't require all the sauce when cooked right. I think the chef has the skills to do this correctly. I really did like this place. They made a great mojito. I had one across the way at Destino's that was just club soda. . Things went downhill quickly. My friends couldn't find anyone to get another beer it was like a ghost town in there but there were like 10 people in there waiting for a drink. My friends just got their own beers from behind the bar after waiting too long. Lastly, I asked for an ice water and it came with a lemon wedge and a baby roach. We didn't see a manger and the girl said sorry but I couldn't order anything else after that. read more

We are new to the area and stumbled in to After 5 while driving around to learn Merced. I was taking pictures outside due to how beautiful the landscaping is. Inside we were greeted by the owner, a kind, engaging and gregarious man who gave us our first round free for being newbies. He also gave us advice on the area which was much appreciated. In light of the covid disaster, to see a business owner striving and caring was such a blessing. One of the best experiences I've had. And the drinks were AMAZING! read more

Weekend review(sat) Pretty nice set up! -music-- great mixture -lots of lounging areas .. chairs and tables all around inside and outside -bartenders are cool (They can smile more and be a little friendlier) -pretty trashy and dirty when it gets later in to the nights because of the ruthless drunks - a lot of very loud obnoxious drunks after midnight Breaking glasses, getting loud and stupid Trying to start fights -there's no security (maybe they should have some, so people can feel somewhat safer) Drinks prices are great!!! read more

What impressed me the most...it had an upscale feel & look, but you wouldn't feel out of place...showing up in shorts & tee! This is definitely a "hidden gem"...in Merced!! I'll be back! Great happy hours deals from Monday (4 to close) to Friday (4 to 7 pm) on appetizers (3 off), beer, well drinks and martinis. We always order the fried calamari, it is light fried and tasty.
