Awesome crowd and great selection of beer. Came after the late night showing of the Avengers end game, thought I'd have a night cap, put a little money in their pin ball machine and head home. I went in this establishment perfectly sober and I'm still sober now. I played the pinball, and went back for a second beer. When served the second beer I sat back and took in the scene, as I don't get out much. Now I consider myself to be a respectful gentleman, as the Marine Corps instilled that in me. I decide to go back to the bar and watch the game highlights when two woman approach the bar. One of the ladies ask for cigarettes and the male bartender who is a dapper looking individual says, " we are out of cigarettes". This young girl, who is attractive, but I have no personal interest in as I am almost 36 and have some, what we call, life experience am not interested in. I say to her in a friendly way, "you look nice and have nice skin why would you want to spoil it by smoking cigarettes"?she responds "because I'm trash."I paused for a second because I was thrown off by that answer and said "you're the type of trash I wouldn't want to throw out and you should think higher of yourself". I, like most people, would consider that a confidence boosting complement. As said above, I had no intention of hitting on this girl. This a-hole of a bar tender looks at me in front of these girls and tells me "take it easy"! I respond, "what did I say wrong". He looks at me with a scowl on his face, very rudely and again tells me to "chill out". At this point I feel pretty disrespected, I respond to him to "hey it was a compliment and you should chill out". His response to me was, "no you should chill out and calm down"! I respond calmly, " I am calm and you are very rude". I sat my half drank beer down and calmly stated, "you are rude and I said nothing wrong at all, I won't be back to this establishment." He said, "well then get lost"! Now look, when I was younger and lived in San Diego and the Bay Area and would go out to bars I would never ever be treated in such a way, in fact in my travels all over the world when I was serving our country I've been to hundreds of bars and never treated with such disrespect. I stopped in for a quick drink to relax for a bit on July 28, 2016 at 6:30pm. I ordered an IPA and sat there silently waiting for almost 10minute.. She ended up serving other customers that ordered after me.. I'm a very good tipper who always tipped a minimal at 20%.. Waited and waited til I got tired of waiting, left and went across the street where they served alcohol and greeted me right away.. This is a nice pool hall with a good amount of tables to play on - when it's going well, it has a nice downtown 'busy' ambiance, but you can still get a table most times. There's a nice juke-box, the sound system is solid and covers the entire hall. Plus the price is cheap and they have one of those buy 10 get 1 free cards that some places offer. JUST want to mention that it is NOT the only pool hall in town like some have mentioned...there is a place on the very next street over (Canal), Break Time Billiards...they are also a great pool hall, but unfortunately have been a victim of city construction on the street, meaning you can't drive past it and see it.
