Interesting place. Good food and beer. You order inside but pick up food from a truck outside. Have both indoor and outdoor seating. We really enjoyed it!

Stopped in this fun spot after a day in Yosemite. Ordered the chicken sandwich, which was super tasty! They had live music inside and we chose to sat outside as it can get pretty loud. Very fun atmosphere if you're looking for something lively! Food came quickly from the pickup window out.

10/10 for food, drinks, and ambience. There was live music which just put everything else over the top. There's a reason why this is one of the highest rated options in Mariposa!

What a gem! Amazing cocktails, great beer selections, outstanding burgers. Bartender was excellent! Can't wait to come back again and again. Great ambiance, lots of locals and visitors, a great mix. Dog friendly, can't wait to come back in the summer months.

Fun spot to grab a drink and snack. They are dog and kid friendly so that's always a plus. Lots of room outside for the kids to play and we also met another family and ended up hanging out and eating together. Great spot to check out if your day n town and looking for something to do besides hanging out in your hotel room.

After a long day of hiking at Yosemite, we sped back to Mariposa and ran into the Grove House around 9:36 pm as they were one of the few places open late. With about 24 min left before closing, we were afraid they would turn us away but the woman working at the bar who took our order was very kind and understanding. The food here is so delicious, I'm kind of sad we didn't eat here till our 3rd night staying in Mariposa. My brother got the fried chicken sandwich with the chips and salsa while I got the grove house burger with fries. I had a burger at another popular restaurant in town and this burger beat it hands down, wasn't even comparable. The double patties were so moist unlike the dry patty at the other establishment and I was super stokes that it came with a pretzel bun! I'm super particular about my fries but these were the tastiest crinkle cut fries I've ever had - perfectly crispy, seasoned well with salt and vinegar, and a doughy potatoey inside.

Grilled Chicken Pesto sandwich with fries. A thick chicken breast, moist and cooked perfectly!

First time trying The Grove House for a meal and it was well worth it! We had the Grilled Chicken Pesto sandwich. I chose fries foe my side and my brother had salad. You order at the bar, take a pager, and go pick up your food from the food truck/trailer parked on premises. Nice atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. Live music on various dates. Our chicken sandwiches were fresh, hot and perfectly cooked. Worth a little wait. Sides were also good. Pleasant staff and a great choice for a meal when in town

Outdoor seating a plenty!

Good food, good drinks, great vibes! We started going to the Grovehouse for the drinks but honestly it's our go to spot for the atmosphere. Never had a less than great time and great company there! I will forever be requesting rap music trivia though

Potato Quesadilla, The Grove House Burger
Felicia L.

The Grove House was such a pleasant place to stop by for dinner after a long drive to Yosemite. My husband and I were both starving, and decided to check it out since he really wanted to try the potato quesadilla. I ordered the Grove House burger with tater tots and left feeling very full. Service was good and there was a live performance when we were there so the energy was great and relaxing. There were tons of seats and tables outside too and overall just a lot of space to move around. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because I felt like for the quantity of food I got, it wasn't quite worth the price. For $20, the burger was pretty small and the tater tots were not super special. It tasted good, but was not worth $20.

A selection of what's on tap.

Outstanding brews, cocktails, grub, and live music. Anna makes the best old fashioned ever, they keep the beer varied and delicious, and Miles keeps the kitchen fresh with seasonal menus. You can't find a better local venue for lively music. Our favorite local digs for food, brews, and music.

We sat at a table trying to figure out how this placed worked, no one helped us. Very very limited menu. Very casual. We didn't stay.

My favorite restaurant in Mariposa! Easily the finest dining you'll find in town. I've been here…read morefive times and it has never disappointed. They offer upscale fare including steak, seafood, and pasta, all beautifully prepared. The osso buco is fantastic, as are the steaks. And if you order the Savory Salad and you're a blue cheese lover, don't skip it -- they use a generous amount of gorgeous blue cheese crumbles paired with candied walnuts... absolutely delicious. The cocktails are excellent as well. I could honestly go on and on -- you'll truly enjoy your experience here. The service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is warm and cozy while still feeling modern and refined. Highly recommend!

I've been to Savory's many times and usually enjoy it, which made tonight especially disappointing…read more We sat at the bar, were greeted initially, then service completely fell apart. Our bartender forgot our wine order entirely, then forgot water, silverware, and napkins--multiple reminders were needed while our food arrived and sat in front of us. The food was just as bad as the service. The salmon was dry and overcooked, the rice was unpleasant, and my lamb was extremely dry and tasted old. The "vegetables" were clearly frozen broccoli. No check-back during the meal, despite plenty of attention to other guests. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had here. Very disappointing for a local spot I've supported in the past.

Showed up on a Friday night, it was my birthday and I really wanted a steak and potato dinner…read more Thankfully no reservation was needed but I could see it being more necessary for more popular seasons. Cute restaurant, like a old house transformed, really only smelled like an old house in the tiny narrow bathrooms Service was absolutely fantastic, everyone we interacted with was so lovely. They all seemed to know everyone who was dining there, we were for sure the out of towners. I had a filet with side salad and baked potato. The vegetable side was well seasoned and cooked well. Basic side dish but done so well I ate them all. The thought that went into making my baked potato ready to scoop out was a small thought but I appreciated it! Even my salad was cold, crispy and crunchy. The bread on the table was delicious. My stake was yummy and loved the jus and mushrooms served with them. Hubs had the prime rib, he said it was one of the best ones he had in a long times he had the clam chowder to start and it was super tasty!!! Glad we had my birthday meal here!

Charles Street Dinner House, Mariposa: 2026 Mar 12 (4 of 5)…read more Let me start off by saying that we were extremely pleased with the service, thanks to Dillon (who showed genuine rapport), Tomben (his honest opinions) and Amya (who brought me piping hot water in a beautiful mug and teapot). Their friendly, yet professional attitude make this eatery stand out. (5 of 5) This eatery has a vintage feel and historical charm. We felt we could really relax and take our time instead of being rushed to order, eat, then leave. The atmosphere feels rustic, exposing the past. It was a time capsule for folks who enjoyed that era. FOOD: Sauteed Mushroom Soup: The soup arrived with garlic bread. The soup had an earthy, savoury and nutty texture. The rich, velvety mushrooms were bouncy and cooked well, while the umami-packed broth felt comforting. The garlic bread that accompanied the mushroom soup had a perfect balance of textures - heavily buttered, with savoury garlic flavour. The golden-brown, crispy exterior was not overly toasted and the sticks were enhanced with a touch of herbal flavour. (5 of 5) New Zealand Rack of Lamb: This was my order - cooked medium-rare. The perfectly cooked meat was tender - unfortunately lacked seasoning, but a dash of salt brought this to a perfect 5. (5 of 5) I had a choice of potatoes or rice pilaf and made a wrong decision. The rice pilaf looked like baby food, and the fresh red pepper over-powered the entire dish. I tried a small scoop and was disappointed. Needless to say, I couldn't eat another bite of the rice. (1 of 5) My vegetables were mostly cooked well. They had a bit of crunch and texture but not raw. My dinner came with Tomato Soup. The soup tasted nutty and lemony, with a slight heat - and has a good aftertaste. It was silky and smooth, rich, and velvety. (5 of 5) Scallone: Our other order came with onion soup. My dinner partner had the privilege of tasting one of the best scallone years ago and was hoping to bring back great memories of this special dish he loved. This marriage of blending ground abalone and scallops is a savoury dish formed into patties. It is then breaded and lightly pan-fried in butter. The texture is supposed to be tender yet firm. The temperature was perfect but the patty came out almost like a regular pancake. A chunk of fresh red pepper was also thrown in, perhaps for colour, but it overpowered the dish. The pilaf rice was also a no-no. When the server came and asked how we enjoyed the dishes, I had to be blunt and said, "I didn't like the rice". Our server apologized and immediately offered to remove the rice on both plates and asked if we'd like potatoes instead. My partner opted for the baked potato. (5 of 5) The onion soup that accompanied this order was also a fail. Overall, this dinner was a 2 of 5. We were there to celebrate my birthday, so for dessert, we got Coconut Crème Brulee. Even though it wasn't cooked evenly, the light flavour of the coconut did not take over the mild flavour of the crème brulee. A lovely ending to an interesting dinner... and the crème brulee was a birthday treat, on the house. (4 of 5) Would we return? I think we would. I'd like to try other items on the menu because we feel it our privilege to have met some of the nicest staff in an eatery.

That is exactly what happened during my recent dinner at Elderberry House. I visited with a group of four, and between us, we had two gluten-free diners and one vegetarian. After a quick heads-up the day before, the restaurant handled our needs with total ease. We went for the five-course tasting menu, and it was incredible from start to finish. We kicked things off with one of the best oysters I have ever had, followed by a beautiful tuna presentation. The kitchen even looked out for our gluten-free friends with a special version of their herbal-butter focaccia that was actually delicious. By the time the main courses arrived, I honestly could not decide if I liked my beef or my friend's snap pea risotto better; every single bite was pure perfection. The cocktails were another high point. My first drink was great, but after chatting with our server, Jordan, I decided to try the Last Word. It featured that hard-to-find green chartreuse, and I am a little annoyed to report that I have a new favorite cocktail that requires such a rare ingredient. The service is what really made the night so special. Jordan was so charismatic and helpful, making sure we were perfectly taken care of all evening. He was so good that I almost worried a second visit would not be the same without him, though the rest of the staff quickly put that fear to rest. Abby was so friendly and responsible for a truly unique but perfect-for-the-vibe playlist, and Chris the mixologist even stopped by to geek out about gin and cocktails with us. From the genuine care for our food sensitivities to the clever touch of the iPad check-in hidden in an elegant binder, it was a night for the books. I cannot recommend this place enough and look forward to bringing my family next!

We especially loved the kale and farro salad. Came on a Thursday evening in May at 6:30 pm and were seated for a table of 4 with no wait. The tavern is part of a hotel, so you need to walk to the side of the hotel, by the pool, to reach the restaurant. Ample free parking in the lot in front. A bit pricey but worth it!

The first experience was less than satisfactory (for me atleast)...The second was absolutely phenomenal...And the third was good as well. The ambiance is like any tavern; classy but warm, and you'll feel right at home in an otherwise perilous place like Yosemite. The service here was absolutely phenomenal; the staff are always looking to make sure their customers are satisfied and often go above and beyond for them whenever they're not. The meals however, I'm mixed on. So the first time, I decided to order their "grilled ceasar". All I can say is this is apparently deconstructed and is anything *but* a caesar...I'll grill this one personally and just say pass...Then I tried the pan-seared duck breast...It felt undercooked and flavorless, and even after cooking it a little more, it still felt disappointingly bland. After barely finishing the duck, I quite literally thought to myself "got any grapes?" and waddled away to the convenience store for a microwavable meal after that... Brutal? Absolutely...Now you're probably thinking "If your experience was so bad, why should I bother eating here?" with how vitriolic I was about it. One bad meal doesn't mean all of them were misses, and mind you, I'm only 1 of 5 in the group at the time...And one of them suggested that over what I originally wanted...The latter which we'll talk about next. Now the second time was actually much, *much* better. That time I ordered a tomato soup (which they had that time) and the Quatro Formaggi Mac. The mac was absolutely to die for. It was garnished with breadcrumbs, the cheeses were strong and bursting with flavor, and no matter what meat you have put in there, you'll walk away satisfied like a bear that stole someone's picnic! The third time was breakfast. Honestly I'd cannot complain; not much to say there though. But it was definitely good! I will warn you that, as far as I know, the menu has changed since I've last eaten there; some of these items may or may not be available anymore. Overall? A solid spot I'd recommend to anyone who managed to brave a perilous mountain drive and found their way to the Ranch!
