Buffalo wings (sauce on the side) like fried chicken, yum

Very cool bar here at the Tenaya Lodge! Fantastic ambience with an enclosed glass fireplace and an open pit right outside the patio doors... plenty of seating too. Our server Erik was awesome! Fun personality and he gave great recommendations! Also very attentive throughout our meal! The drinks were killer! Best $18 Bloody Mary! The others in our party enjoyed their wine selections too. As far as the menu... not a whole lot of appetizer options before 5pm in fact we were unable to order the artichoke dip because it was not yet 5 which to me is so silly because how hard can it be to prepare an artichoke dip dish at 4 PM versus 5 PM? The buffalo wings were really good. Different but good. It came with 7 wings and some carrots and celery. We did the sauces on the side and what a surprise that the chicken was fried chicken!? Definitely not your average wings... too much on the fried stuff for me. The prices are way overpriced for what they serve. We also had the chicken mole' nachos, very tasty but again way overpriced for what they serve you! A very small portion and $30 with the guacamole added! Not worth the price at all. Definitely would come back so I recommend coming here especially for the location!

From the moment we walked in, the restaurant had a cozy, cabin-like atmosphere with wood paneling throughout and a fireplace in the center of the dining area. I started with the cauliflower ceviche, and it did not disappoint. It was tangy, flavorful, and served with large curly chips that added a great texture and made the dish even more enjoyable. For my entrée, I ordered the prime rib cooked medium rare, and it was prepared perfectly. The mashed potatoes that accompanied it were also well-made and nicely seasoned. I added a little cracked black pepper to my taste, but it was delicious even without it. Our server, Lori, was attentive and made sure all our needs were met. She also ensured our food arrived promptly, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience with the family, and I would definitely return.

Get the french dip! Get the french dip! We swung by Jackalope's after Mariposa Grove and we were starving! This place is within a hotel so parking was definitely easy. We were also greeted and seated immediately. I'll let the photos do the convincing. I'm coming back every time I'm in the area again.

Jackalope's Bar and Grill is the large dining area inside the Tenaya Lodge resort close to the lobby with ample seating and a variety of things on the menu. It has a cozy lodge feel and I was at first really excited to try it. I was excited to eat here for a warm meal after a long day at Yosemite but I think I would have fared better with the food inside the national park. Everything was pretty expensive, food was just okay, and service was hit or miss. I forgot to take more pictures once the meals came out, but the chicken on the linguine Alfredo was rubbery and inedible. The Brussel sprout salad was very dry. It's the kind of place where all the food kind of looks good but doesn't really taste that good (that kind of vibe.) Maybe I'll stop here next time to Tesla charge and buy something from the gift shop but I think I'll pass on having a meal at this resort. (We also tried the seasonal barbecue that is outside in the lawn area and it was absolutely infested with wasps and bees and flies so that's two strike outs for the food at this resort for me.) I really wish I was writing a different review because I really wanted to like this place and the location is such a great option but I don't think I would honestly recommend it to any of my friends traveling to and from Yosemite.

Jackalopes, Teneya Lodge: 2025 Oct 30 (4.43 of 5) Service: 5 of 5 Food: 4.25 of 5 I'm going to start this off by commending our server, Victor. He was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. He has a positive attitude and demonstrated good manners, while anticipating our needs. Victor is a definite 5 in our books. Note: I plan on writing a commendation letter to Jackalope's for his overall attitude and charm The Food: Tuna Nachos (tuna, cabbage, cucumber, avocado, sesame seeds, wonton chips, cilantro, poke sauce, sriracha aioli): This was my order. I skipped the cilantro. The raw tuna has a mild flavour and melt-in-your-mouth texture. The slight heat from the sriracha aioli marries well with the tuna, giving it a rich umami taste. Everything was on point, from the fresh tuna to the crispy wonton chips, and dressing. A definite 5 of 5. Prime Rib French Dip: This came with fries. The meat was under-seasoned. The dip was nice, but the fries were not. The fries were a beautiful golden brown, but were under-seasoned as well, plus they were not crunchy when you bite into them. They tasted starchy like they sat out far too long. As for the slaw... it was under-dressed and quite bitter. This dish was a 2.75 of 5. Warm English Sticky Toffee Pudding (moist date cake, caramel sauce, whipped cream, toffee bits): The rich, moist sponge cake has a deep yet and complex flavour. It's gooey and decadent and we couldn't stop eating it. The lovely warm cake is not cloyingly sweet and works well with the light cream. Loosen your belt or wear elastic pants when you order this. 5 of 5 We sat on the patio. It's a beautiful day and flowers are in bloom. Sitting on the patio means, we get to see the resident bird, Ralph. Ralph has a mate now. We were told the mate's name is Fred. We could not tell them apart but we're happy to see them. They're great entertainers.

This is one of the restaurants on-site at the Tenaya Lodge. Stayed here a few nights to visit Yosemite. Service was slow in the beginning. Our server thought someone else was taking care of us which didn't really explain why we weren't even offered water for about 10 minutes. Also, aren't servers assigned sections? Either way, it sucked having to wait that long for water but server was apologetic and rest of the service was fast. The food itself was just ok. Nothing amazing but it wasn't bad either. I expected the pricing based on previous reviews and the fact that it's located at a resort. Although expected I wouldn't say the food was necessarily worth the price. We ordered poke nachos to start, kids teriyaki chicken meal, a burger, grilled chees and tomatoe soup and the short rib pasta. The teriyaki sauce had an unusual gravy-like consistency but chicken was well seasoned. The burger was fine, and came with onion rings which were good. The grilled cheese and soup were the favorite with the short rib pasta as a follow up. I would eat here again if staying on site since everything else is about a 20min drive.

Food is good in terms of taste and quantity. Service staff is super friendly and ambience is perfect with a cozy fireplace inside and outside. We tried the apple walnut salad, fettuccine Alfredo pasta, blackened chicken tacos and Nashville chicken burger. We liked the tacos and salad. We loved the warm sticky toffee pudding.

Our go-to place on the way out of Yosemite at night. We are usually visiting between Christmas and New Year's. The hotel is rather busy, so the restaurant can be crowded at certain times. The menu has plenty of options for everyone in the family. The service is usually pretty good. If there is a long wait, you can pass the tire at the outdoor s'more pits. Or just eat handfuls of marshmallows as an appetizer like my daughter.

Stellar service once you get in, so make reservations if you're going &/or staying at the lodge. Food was tasty - started with the pretzel bites and hot artichoke dip, along with drinks, great start! Then we ordered: steakhouse burger, tempura cauliflower burger & a Cobb chicken salad. Yikes no room for dessert. Overall the food was on point, tasted good & there were no complaints. Very casual spot, easy going - swear there were folks there in their pj's, some come as you are ‍

The perfect restaurant for a mountain resort! We came for dinner last night and the the breakfast buffet this morning. Our servers were amazing and on top of all our needs! We sat by cozy fireplaces at both meals - just completed the Yosemite experience!

We recently stayed at the Tenaya Explorer cabins. The Jackalope restaurant is in the main building. We ate there twice for breakfast and three times for dinner. The service is excellent and the servers are nice and friendly. Our server told us they have recently changed the menu for the slower season. They have burgers and sandwiches and salads and pasta and fish and a beef choice of prime rib. We ordered the prime rib several times. There are no steaks on the menu. My husband had the prime rib dip which he says was delicious. My server accommodated me with adding vegetables to my meal to make my meal low carb. We also ate breakfast there and they have nice omelets. This is a good restaurant and I felt their prices were very reasonable. I can recommend this restaurant.

We had a pretty large party and with a small menu we almost covered it all. The best things on the menu were the empanadas even though they didn't make sense on paper and the rest was disappointing. Being as how we were the table sending things back I will have to say the service was 5 plus stars. You never know how anyone is going to take you being as how they have their own personal relationship with the food (and kinda have to like it since it's their job) so we were nice, paid for what they felt like they needed to charge us for and left. Upside? The facility is a nice piece of history up here. Had the food matched that it would've been a 5 start experience all the way around. Nice little river running thru the property and over the top maintained. We didn't see the insides of the rooms but if it matched the dining area this place was pretty phenomenal. Back one more time on the food, none of the fish dishes were worth it. Tiny sliver portions and super fishy tasting for it to be a busy Saturday. If you like fish and fishy flavor it's for you, but if you're a non fish tasting person who likes fish (I know my target fish audience gets that) skip it. It wasn't good. We also skipped dessert so can't comment on that. The other parts of the meal were just not that good. Also had a tequila cocktail I'm not sure why I ordered a second one of that kept me up from whatever the juice was they used in it. Wish I could remember which but at least it was strong enough for me to brave the second.

I used to go almost every day, I've supported them consistently, bought drinks and beans there regularly, and it was part of my daily routine during a really difficult time in my life. My usual drink isn't available on their online ordering system, so I've always called ahead to place my order. That has never been an issue before. They knew my order so well that they referred to it as "the Amy Special," and there were times my drink was prepared ahead of time for me to pick up when I arrived. Today I called to place my usual order. I was told the person on the phone was the owner, and I was told they had been discussing my drink and that it was "very unusual," and that I would need to come in to order instead. I asked for clarification because I've always ordered the same way for months. I was told again that I would need to come in, and that my drink was too complicated to order over the phone. I explained that I've been ordering this drink the same way for a long time and that I've always been able to call it in before. After I said I was going through a hard time and wasn't really up for coming in, the call ended. When I called back, the phone was hung up on multiple times before I was able to briefly speak with someone again. When I did finally speak with someone I recognized, my reaction was emotional because I was confused and hurt by what was happening, and the interaction didn't feel like the experience I had come to expect from them. What I'm upset about is not that a business can change how they operate. What I'm upset about is that there was no clear communication that a policy had changed, and no explanation that made sense of why something that had been routine for months was suddenly not allowed. I'm sharing this because I genuinely thought I had a good relationship with this place as a customer, and today's experience didn't reflect that. This was a place I supported daily for a long time, and it became part of my routine during a period of my life when it genuinely mattered more than people probably realize. That's why today's experience felt so disappointing and hard to process.

Teneya Lodge is located at Fish Camp in Mariposa County, about two miles from Yosemite National Park's South Gate Entrance. We decided to celebrate our 34th year wedding anniversary here. It was an interesting experience - with pluses and minuses. I'll have to break my review down to be fair. Atmosphere: The first thing you see when you enter is a cozy fireplace. It defines the space and creates a visual appeal, and can enhance the dining experience. (5 of 5) The restaurant's lighting is just bright enough to see and enjoy your companions and the food. (5 of 5) The tables are spaced far enough but the hard surfaces and open layouts bounce sound, so patrons began to speak louder in order to be heard. (3 of 5) The high-backed chairs were very comfortable even though they were difficult to move. (4 of 5) Overall 4.25 Price: $99 per person for a four-course dinner. Wine pairing cost extra. I don't drink liquor and my husband drove so he only had one drink. He ordered a Jack & Coke. It came in a small glass and had an odd taste so we had to send that back. He was informed that they used a different soda instead of coke (hello... jack and COKE...). (2 of 5) The remake was much better. (4 of 5) We were asked whether we wanted bottled water or regular water. My husband wanted bottled water but didn't get it, although his glass of water was filled without him having to request it. (4 of 5) One drawback was the glass itself. It looked spotty. (1 of 5) Overall 2.75 Food: After a half hour wait, the flow of food began. The saying "eating with your eyes" is true here. The presentations were 100% on point, emphasizing the dish's appearance, and influencing our perception of its taste and expectations. Having said that, I feel a need to add that not all the dishes were 100% satisfactory. Amuse-Bouche (spring peas, fresh mint, crostini) We were told 100% of everything on the plate was edible, but I begged to differ. I agree that this wakes up our palate for what's to come, but the pod of the peas is a tough, inedible shell. The crostini, though, well-seasoned had a very hard texture. (3.5 of 5) Next, we had Nori Tempura. This was not a part of the menu, but it is an exceptional dish. It had the right balance of salt and crust. *Nori tempura is a popular snack in Japan. It's made by lightly battering and deep-frying sheets of nori giving it a crispy texture and umami flavour. The kitchen aced this dish. (5 of 5) First Course: Spring Onion & Fennel Velouté (spring onions, fennel, cream, chives) The chef was heavy-handed with the salt here but it still tastes lovely. The nori tempura complimented the soup, giving it the balance it needed. (5 of 5) Second Course: Grilled American Wagyu Skirt Steak (maitake mushrooms, roasted mini vegetables, furikake anna potato, yakiniku sauce) Wagyu steak is renowned for its exceptional marbling and tenderness. The server said the steak was medium rare. We enjoyed the taste but think the meat may have sat out too long. Parts were chewy but the taste of salt and pepper brought out the rich buttery flavour. (3.5 of 5) The Furikake Anna Potato (a marriage of French and Japanese) was good. (5 of 5) The Maitake Mushroom has a rich, woodsy, earthy and meaty flavour. I wish there were more. (5 of 5) We wanted more of just the smear of Yakiniku Sauce. I think a little scoop on the side would have been welcomed. I like the addition of sesame seeds. (4 of 5) Now, the vegetables: The root hairs on the vegetables looked like they flew straight from the garden and landed on the plate. Doesn't look appetizing, but tasted fine. (4 of 5) Overall 4.5 The Finale: Deconstructed Rhubarb & Lemon Custard Tart (lemon olive oil powder, truffle, gelée, macaroon) This was a well-implemented lovely 'end-of-meal' treat. I enjoyed the lemon tart and the gelée. My husband liked the truffle as well as the gelée. Neither of us enjoyed the macaroons. (4 of 5) We tried to be genteel but diners were heard scrapping their plates to get to their desserts, causing discomfort to the ears - like nails on a chalkboard. (1 of 5) Overall 2.5 (the plates pulled the score of the food down) Staff & Service: Morgan was our server and Victor silently, and with agility topped the water in my husband's glass without fuss. (4 of 5) Parking: Due to the number of visitors to this lodge, and depending on the season, parking may be a bear. Give yourself time to find parking if you have reservations. (4 of 5) Last Impression: For the price diners fork out, you'd think a seamless napkin would be provided. Alas, one of our napkins had a loose seam. The silverware set and plates are from the same maker - Oneida. The steak knife is weighted and has a nice firm handle. Will we go back? Personally, I enjoyed the experience, and will definitely return when the menu changes - which, we're informed, is seasonal.

Since it was our first time in Bass Lake, we needed a map from the hotel front desk to find our way. Please view my map photo since it is nestled in the middle of lodging. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were informed a 45-minute to 1-hour wait for a table. Perturbingly and hungrily, we waited. Our drink order included Modelo Michelada, Peach Lemonade, juice, and milk. Ordered the Ducey's Salad, a Philly Cheesesteak, a Carne Asada Protein Bowl, and 2 kids meals. Loved my protein bowl and peach lemonade. We enjoyed our food and dining experience, and we would love to return. Reiterating this review on Bar & Grill.

First time visiting this spot and so glad I did especially as it's right at the lake. There are 2 separate floors at this restaurant: bottom floor is only open for dinner while the top floor is open for lunch and dinner. Chose to sit at outside patio area to enjoy the lake view and nice weather. Lots of dining tables with nice wall decors. Ordered a rustic reuben (braised corned beef) with sauerkraut and swiss cheese in rye bread. Also served with sweet potato fries. Rustic reuben was so good and savory!! Friendly staff and very courteous. Gotta check out this spot for dinner next time. Will be back when in the area again.

Came here planning to try a flight and have a glass, and ended up staying for dinner and dessert…read more Besides the refreshing wine menu, the service was something that stood out. All of the staff went above and beyond to be super friendly and inviting. It felt like my husband and I were regulars the way the wait staff treated us. You could tell they treat every customer as if they're the only person in the winery, despite it being full. Every question we had was met with patience as they guided us on the best food and wine pairing. They also are super accommodating to pets, and were able to enjoy a nice meal with our pup. The food was all fresh and delicious. Everything tasted like it was made from the heart. My husband got the angel hair pasta with chicken, a favorite of his, and it did not disappoint! I got the brown butter sage gnocchi, made with fresh sage from their garden. We also enjoyed the meze board. My husband who does not like falafel was fighting with me for the last piece. For dessert I ate the rosemary shortbread with lemon curd. Just like with the sage the rosemary was also freshly picked from their garden. The shortbread was not too dry but also the perfect ratio of crispy on the outside and slightly moist on the inside - the exact way shortbread should be baked. I normally am picky with lemon desserts, but their lemon curd was also perfect - not too sweet and not too sour while still maintaining that fresh flavor. My biggest regret of our visit is not booking a room at their inn. We spent a couple of hours here and immediately felt right at home. I hope to come back one day for the full inn experience.
