From the moment we walked in, the restaurant had a cozy, cabin-like atmosphere with wood paneling throughout and a fireplace in the center of the dining area. I started with the cauliflower ceviche, and it did not disappoint. It was tangy, flavorful, and served with large curly chips that added a great texture and made the dish even more enjoyable. For my entrée, I ordered the prime rib cooked medium rare, and it was prepared perfectly. The mashed potatoes that accompanied it were also well-made and nicely seasoned. I added a little cracked black pepper to my taste, but it was delicious even without it. Our server, Lori, was attentive and made sure all our needs were met. She also ensured our food arrived promptly, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience with the family, and I would definitely return.

Get the french dip! Get the french dip! We swung by Jackalope's after Mariposa Grove and we were starving! This place is within a hotel so parking was definitely easy. We were also greeted and seated immediately. I'll let the photos do the convincing. I'm coming back every time I'm in the area again.

Food is good in terms of taste and quantity. Service staff is super friendly and ambience is perfect with a cozy fireplace inside and outside. We tried the apple walnut salad, fettuccine Alfredo pasta, blackened chicken tacos and Nashville chicken burger. We liked the tacos and salad. We loved the warm sticky toffee pudding.

Jackalope's Bar and Grill is the large dining area inside the Tenaya Lodge resort close to the lobby with ample seating and a variety of things on the menu. It has a cozy lodge feel and I was at first really excited to try it. I was excited to eat here for a warm meal after a long day at Yosemite but I think I would have fared better with the food inside the national park. Everything was pretty expensive, food was just okay, and service was hit or miss. I forgot to take more pictures once the meals came out, but the chicken on the linguine Alfredo was rubbery and inedible. The Brussel sprout salad was very dry. It's the kind of place where all the food kind of looks good but doesn't really taste that good (that kind of vibe.) Maybe I'll stop here next time to Tesla charge and buy something from the gift shop but I think I'll pass on having a meal at this resort. (We also tried the seasonal barbecue that is outside in the lawn area and it was absolutely infested with wasps and bees and flies so that's two strike outs for the food at this resort for me.) I really wish I was writing a different review because I really wanted to like this place and the location is such a great option but I don't think I would honestly recommend it to any of my friends traveling to and from Yosemite.

Jackalopes, Teneya Lodge: 2025 Oct 30 (4.43 of 5) Service: 5 of 5 Food: 4.25 of 5 I'm going to start this off by commending our server, Victor. He was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. He has a positive attitude and demonstrated good manners, while anticipating our needs. Victor is a definite 5 in our books. Note: I plan on writing a commendation letter to Jackalope's for his overall attitude and charm The Food: Tuna Nachos (tuna, cabbage, cucumber, avocado, sesame seeds, wonton chips, cilantro, poke sauce, sriracha aioli): This was my order. I skipped the cilantro. The raw tuna has a mild flavour and melt-in-your-mouth texture. The slight heat from the sriracha aioli marries well with the tuna, giving it a rich umami taste. Everything was on point, from the fresh tuna to the crispy wonton chips, and dressing. A definite 5 of 5. Prime Rib French Dip: This came with fries. The meat was under-seasoned. The dip was nice, but the fries were not. The fries were a beautiful golden brown, but were under-seasoned as well, plus they were not crunchy when you bite into them. They tasted starchy like they sat out far too long. As for the slaw... it was under-dressed and quite bitter. This dish was a 2.75 of 5. Warm English Sticky Toffee Pudding (moist date cake, caramel sauce, whipped cream, toffee bits): The rich, moist sponge cake has a deep yet and complex flavour. It's gooey and decadent and we couldn't stop eating it. The lovely warm cake is not cloyingly sweet and works well with the light cream. Loosen your belt or wear elastic pants when you order this. 5 of 5 We sat on the patio. It's a beautiful day and flowers are in bloom. Sitting on the patio means, we get to see the resident bird, Ralph. Ralph has a mate now. We were told the mate's name is Fred. We could not tell them apart but we're happy to see them. They're great entertainers.

Our go-to place on the way out of Yosemite at night. We are usually visiting between Christmas and New Year's. The hotel is rather busy, so the restaurant can be crowded at certain times. The menu has plenty of options for everyone in the family. The service is usually pretty good. If there is a long wait, you can pass the tire at the outdoor s'more pits. Or just eat handfuls of marshmallows as an appetizer like my daughter.

The perfect restaurant for a mountain resort! We came for dinner last night and the the breakfast buffet this morning. Our servers were amazing and on top of all our needs! We sat by cozy fireplaces at both meals - just completed the Yosemite experience!

Stellar service once you get in, so make reservations if you're going &/or staying at the lodge. Food was tasty - started with the pretzel bites and hot artichoke dip, along with drinks, great start! Then we ordered: steakhouse burger, tempura cauliflower burger & a Cobb chicken salad. Yikes no room for dessert. Overall the food was on point, tasted good & there were no complaints. Very casual spot, easy going - swear there were folks there in their pj's, some come as you are ‍

We recently stayed at the Tenaya Explorer cabins. The Jackalope restaurant is in the main building. We ate there twice for breakfast and three times for dinner. The service is excellent and the servers are nice and friendly. Our server told us they have recently changed the menu for the slower season. They have burgers and sandwiches and salads and pasta and fish and a beef choice of prime rib. We ordered the prime rib several times. There are no steaks on the menu. My husband had the prime rib dip which he says was delicious. My server accommodated me with adding vegetables to my meal to make my meal low carb. We also ate breakfast there and they have nice omelets. This is a good restaurant and I felt their prices were very reasonable. I can recommend this restaurant.

Not bad! We ate here twice during our stay at Tenaya, once for breakfast (we stayed in one of the cabins and they gave us breakfast vouchers) and once for dinner. Breakfast was pretty busy and our food took almost 45 minutes to come out, I think something must've gone wrong because tables seated after us got their food before us. Other than that, the food was pretty good and generous portions. It would've been pricey without the vouchers. Since we had enough vouchers for 2 days, we got breakfast to go the second time and that was ready in 20 minutes. Dinner was actually really nice! The ambiance is very cozy without being overly dark and we felt welcome with our toddler. Madison, our server was great. Food was good, came out quickly and was pretty delicious. I wouldn't come back here to eat unless we stayed at the resort again, but it's a convenient option if you don't want to drive the 20 minutes into Oakhurst.

Ate here 3 times for dinner, once for breakfast. Not many other options if you're staying at the Tenaya lodge. Luckily it has a good variety of items. The mole nachos were a group fave. Everything else we had was pretty descent. Service was great every time.

The server had to bring potatoes since they were so cold. Honestly, that should have triggered a manager visit.

We came in on a Saturday afternoon after the river and were instantly welcomed by Oscar and his wife. The brewery has a wide selection of beers, all brewed by Oscar himself, and he was kind enough to let us sample whatever we wanted. Every beer we tried was excellent. We hung out for a while chatting with him, and even asked if he knew of a place to watch an English Premier League game the next day. The closest was in Fresno--until Oscar went above and beyond. He told us not to worry, that he would open the brewery just for us on Sunday, even though he's usually closed! The next day we showed up, and Oscar not only opened the doors but let us use our camping stove outside to make tacos. We all enjoyed them together--Oscar included! We expected to stay for about two hours but ended up staying close to five because we were having such a blast. Oscar gave us a tour of the brewery, made us feel like family in his home, gifted us a round on him, and even let us put on some music where we sang at the top of our lungs. I know this is a long review, but it's for a reason. Most breweries can feel impersonal--serve the beer and move on to the next customer. Shuteye Brewery is different. Oscar connects with people and shows, through his actions, that he truly cares about making sure you have a beautiful experience. On top of that, he's dedicated to his community, constantly doing outreach projects to give back. Simply put, the beer is great, the atmosphere is warm, and the owner is amazing. This place is a gem, and I'll be making it a must-stop every time I'm in the area.

The ordering process is straightforward - you place your order at the front inside and then pick it up with a buzzer outside, which works perfectly for enjoying the outdoor setting. 5/5 Tomato Soup with Half Grilled Cheese was so hearty and exactly what you need after a long drive or before heading into the mountains. The soup was the best I have had in a while, with rich tomato flavor that was perfectly seasoned and had just the right consistency. The grilled cheese was nothing too special on its own, but it paired so well with the soup, especially to warm you up in the cold. The combination is classic comfort food executed beautifully, and you really can't go wrong with this order. The Grove House is absolutely worth planning your Yosemite trip around! It's the perfect stop to fuel up before heading into the park or to unwind after a day of hiking. The combination of good food, welcoming atmosphere, and that small-town charm makes it a must-visit when you're in Mariposa. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and hoping to catch one of their live music nights!

That is exactly what happened during my recent dinner at Elderberry House. I visited with a group of four, and between us, we had two gluten-free diners and one vegetarian. After a quick heads-up the day before, the restaurant handled our needs with total ease. We went for the five-course tasting menu, and it was incredible from start to finish. We kicked things off with one of the best oysters I have ever had, followed by a beautiful tuna presentation. The kitchen even looked out for our gluten-free friends with a special version of their herbal-butter focaccia that was actually delicious. By the time the main courses arrived, I honestly could not decide if I liked my beef or my friend's snap pea risotto better; every single bite was pure perfection. The cocktails were another high point. My first drink was great, but after chatting with our server, Jordan, I decided to try the Last Word. It featured that hard-to-find green chartreuse, and I am a little annoyed to report that I have a new favorite cocktail that requires such a rare ingredient. The service is what really made the night so special. Jordan was so charismatic and helpful, making sure we were perfectly taken care of all evening. He was so good that I almost worried a second visit would not be the same without him, though the rest of the staff quickly put that fear to rest. Abby was so friendly and responsible for a truly unique but perfect-for-the-vibe playlist, and Chris the mixologist even stopped by to geek out about gin and cocktails with us. From the genuine care for our food sensitivities to the clever touch of the iPad check-in hidden in an elegant binder, it was a night for the books. I cannot recommend this place enough and look forward to bringing my family next!

The host, Garrett said that we can only get drinks, and cannot order to go food, and did not mention a waitlist. He suggested that we go to the village store or eat at the sweet shop because there would be NO way we would be eating at the bar tonight. Then we overheard Garrett tell the man directly behind us that he would put him on the waitlist because he "seemed cool". A few moments later, a black man asked if there is a waitlist which Garrett replied no. As people continued to come in, he picked and chose which people he wanted to put on the waitlist, which the pattern I saw was white people on the waitlist and people of color - no waitlist. As we were getting our drinks, we saw 2 white ladies get seated at the bar. I asked Garrett why he sat those two ladies and not us? He replied that he didn't see the seats open (there was a total of 6 seats open at bar). Isn't that the job of the host, to see if there is open seating? He did not tell us open bar seating. He started apologizing and acknowledged he overlooked us and then put us on this magic waitlist and said it was 1.5 hour wait. He said he was only doing it for us and told everybody else no. He also rejected a family with 3 children, didn't offer waitlist or to-go orders. We waited outside the bar for our name to be called. After several people didn't show up for their reservation, we were seated after 20 minutes. We saw multiple white people leave with to-go food orders after we were told there were no to-go orders allowed. After we were finally called and seated, we noticed that half of the bar had empty tables and empty seats at the bar, and the "cool guy" had already been seated and got their food. After I got seated, I went to the restroom and Garrett happened to be walking in front of me. He walked over to the dining area to tell his friends that he was off in 10 minutes. He proceeded to leave the host area several other times, called somebody on the rotary phone. He seemed to be doing everything BUT his job to seat people (unless you are white and cool). The bartenders were great, if it was service based on bartenders they would get 5/5 but Garrett's service was based on how cool you are and made up this waitlist whenever he wanted to get people on it. We faced discrimination and only apologized for it when I confronted him about it. This was the tip of the iceberg, there were several other things that happened at the Awahnee during our time here that were very odd, like an employee carrying romaine lettuce against her clothes from dining room to bar, uncovered. We shared our experience with the manager at front desk, which he proceeded to do nothing about and told us that we can write a review online and somehow the dining manager will see it.
