$18 fireball tavern board

Killer spot just 15 mile East of the Yosemite gate. Great food, very hospitable, and fantastic view. Attentive hosts and more seating than expected for a late-March Friday. Tasty charcuterie board accompanied by well-made cocktails in a locale that is hard to beat. Definitely worth a visit!

The plates are beautiful. Art. Service is top notch. Food - unfortunately left something to be desired but I'm sure they can get better at it. Server took my feedback positively and said they are already working on it.

Fish and chips (fried cheesy polenta)

Food was solid nothing crazy but alright price wasn't ridiculous. Decent ambience and friendly staff.

Buffalo mozzarella sandwich

While I loved my stay at Firefall Ranch, my experience at The Tavern was not as positive. I stopped in for lunch and attempted to stop in for breakfast. The restaurant has a very limited menu. I usually don't mind that as it can mean that the dishes are usually well executed. During my lunch experience on 10/3/25, I ordered the Buffalo Mozzerella sandwich and my friend ordered the beef on weck sandwich. The service, while prompt, was not especially warm or friendly. The Buffalo Mozzerella sandwich was just ok. The focaccia that it was served on was not sturdy enough to support the amount of mozzerella served and quickly fell apart. I ate majority of it with a fork. I will say that the fries that came with the sandwich were delicious! I also attempted to stop by for breakfast the next day on 10/4/25. When my friend and I arrived, the restaurant was not busy at all. There were 3 tables seated. So my friend and I waited at the host stand to be greeted. The restaurant was clearly understaffed, even for the minimal customers that were present. As we stood at the host stand, multiple employees walked past and none greeted us or smiled. I have no idea who the host was and we were never asked our name or amount of people in our party despite standing at the host stand for 5 minutes. We left and went to the cafe/bakery across the street. Overall, I think I'd plan ahead for other food options before coming here.

We ate here multiple times during our stay, and overall, enjoyed our experiences. Most of the employees here were friendly and helpful. They have a full bar with a good variety of beer on tap. The food here was fine for lunch and dinner, and fantastic for breakfast. A bit pricey, but understandable since it's at the resort.

Spectacular!! as a foodie on vacation I find it hard to try the same restaurant more than once. In this case, I find it hard to go anywhere other than the Taber fireball Ranch. This place is simply delightful. The burgers are awesome, the steaks on the menu are both great order with the side of the seasonal grilled veggies. The vegan hash for breakfast with poached eggs and chicken sausage are unreal. The service is great, although slow at times. Their signature cocktail, s'mores, is not to be missed. Rustic and clean atmosphere add to your dining experience with a great bar and plenty of television televisions to watch sports or cartoons for the kids. There is something for everybody with local fresh ingredients. I love this place!!

Love Bug

The tavern was a recommendation from a Groveland local. It was as delicious as we were told. The Brussel sprouts were very nutty with the pistachios. A nice touch to these sprouts. The Mac and cheese is a definite must try. This is not your childhood Mac and cheese. The service is excellent. The tavern is open and airy. It is a nicely decorated modern bar. Try their Valentine's special cocktails. The Love Bug was the recommended one. Great food, service and ambiance.

Corn steaks

Stayed three nights at Firefall Ranch and enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the Tavern. Food was a bit pricey but expected for a resort. Breakfast pancakes were thick, fluffy, and topped with powdered sugar--delicious! The fried potatoes were perfectly crispy. Dinner started with tasty focaccia and three flavorful dips (anchovies, olives, garlic). The corn steaks were great, my husband loved his minestrone, and the cabbage steak with parsnips and foraged mushrooms was surprisingly delicious. For dinner, we sat near the bar, where a lively group added to the fun atmosphere. The modern, stylish setting made for a great getaway. Would definitely return!

Tomahawk Steak dinner

Absolutely delicious food and lovely, attentive service. My husband and I stopped here for my birthday dinner and it was one of the best choices we've made. We shared the Tomahawk steak and it was melt in your mouth delicious. The drinks were great and the appetizers and dessert as well. We had the flourless chocolate cake and it was rich and tasty. We had beautiful views of the surrounding area as there were large windows everywhere. We highly recommend this exceptional restaurant.

Return visit after stopping for lunch last year, and another beautiful lunch. Apricot glazed wings, grilled peach pistachio pomegranate burrata salad, and waygu beef burger. Kristin our server, was amazing, efficient and friendly. Can't wait to return.

Stopped in for a meal and the food was great. We had the skirt steak and the salmon and both were wonderful.

This cute rustic oldest continually operated saloon in California is in Groveland, not too far away from the trail, about an hour. The ambience inside is rustic, low lighting with small lamps at each table. There is a separate room with a pool table and an exquisite antique bar. We were greeted promptly and told to sit anywhere. Service was friendly throughout and other than having to ask for a water refill the waiter was fairly attentive. My husband got a hamburger, which apparently they are known for, and a Caesar salad. He said his hamburger was great, and the Caesar salad was very good. I ordered fish tacos. They were not bad, but I think I would recommend a burger or a salad for anyone coming here. My husband also ordered the chocolate cake. For the price I didn't feel like it was worth it, but he thoroughly enjoyed it . An interesting note, there is money all over the ceiling here, and our waiter said it's an old bar thing. People stick a tack in a bill and throw it at the ceiling to see if it will stick haha. Look up the history on this saloon! It's a must stop if you are in the area!

While it had the vibe of a dive bar, we were relieved to see families with children inside. The saloon had a unique charm, with dollar bills covering the ceiling and deer heads mounted on the walls. It was a bit dark, but I didn't mind. My partner ordered a beet salad. It was good, made with the same ingredients I'd had at another restaurant, though I preferred my version--perhaps because of the dressing. My daughter and I split a cheeseburger and fries, planning to save room for ice cream later. The burger and fries were cooked perfectly--thankfully, since my daughter refuses to eat burgers if there's even a hint of pink in the meat. My partner's daughter had a different burger, but I can't recall which one since I didn't take a photo. Overall, our meal was satisfying, the service was quick and attentive, and I'm glad we decided to try this place!

First time here I tried the prime rib special and it was decent honestly but not that flavorful.. we tried a few different appetizers. Both were alright. But nothing that screams wow. Second trim which was tonight... ordered the signature chicken dish. It was lacking not bad but not great not dress code to get in great. And at the price point ehhh.. lobster Mac was good, as well as the risotto. Everything could use a little more seasoning. It's a nice experience but the food is plated and presented well but nothing leaves me saying wow... I'd expect more. My server the first time was good but didn't know the menu very well. And the second time my server didn't even ask me if I wanted anything to drink...
