We have been staying at this Inn for years! The property is nice and feels secluded. It's always quite and feels so relaxing... Our favorite room is #40 - it's on the corner next to a little creek and we just love it. If you frequently stay here, call to make reservations instead of doing it online. You may get a better rate! Rates are usually good regardless though! The room is comfortable, clean, and just enough space for a couple. It's got a great cabin feel to it! Also, there is plenty of deck space to relax with a bottle of wine and to enjoy the nature and views!

Very cute and quaint! I wanted to squeeze in a quick nature getaway for some peace and tranquillity. I checked in earlier than 3pm and the room was ready for me. The room feels like a cabin with a more modernized bathroom. I do have a couple gripes: the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything ! I kept waking up to foot steps above me. I definitely recommend booking the single level room facing the forest. There will be nobody above you and you can hear the creek water better. Also, Their highly rated restaurant was closed! Was really looking forward to trying the food. The skies look great at night and there are cool little paths surrounding the Inn. Sugar pine railroad is right next door to book a train ride and to visit the museum . Yosemite is just 4 miles up the road!

What a great cute place ~10 min from the park! Cute adjacent store with gear/accessories better than the park. Everyone very nice. Ice didn't work and could hear the neighbor snoring, but would def stay again.

Great location for Yosemite! Rustic inn that looks like it had some recent remodels. Overall it was clean, quiet place to sleep. Rooms a little small with a large bathroom that included a desk space with coffee maker. Our room had a little balcony with an amazing view of the mountains. I mean really amazing! My main issue was that the mattresses were rather worn and could be replaced. Also the heater was really noisy. Desk staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the grab and go breakfast provided by the restaurant. The portions were huge and the fruit was fresh and delicious. Lobby features a cute gift shop with snacks, sundries etc... Also a microwave fir guest use. Great little place to stay between Yosemite and Oakhurst. PS if you are an EV driver there are a ton of Super chargers up the road at Tenaya and also a charger for other EV's.

Beautiful location. The hotel is very quaint. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Staff was very friendly.

Wow, what a sweet little inn! A group of us got 2 separate rooms for two days for our trip to Yosemite. I was so amazed at how cute the room was and I LOVED being able to drink my coffee on the balcony overlooking the trees and the animal trail. The restaurant had some of the best food I've ever had in my life. Thank you, Narrow Gauge, for making our trip magical! We are definitely coming back!

I really like this place! They have a wonderful spot close to Yosemite. The restaurant and bar is very nice and the staff is fantastic. The hotel rooms are a little small, but just fine for a night or two. I probably wouldn't want to spend a week here though. The hotel staff was very kind and accommodating. Check in and check out were easy! You can park right outside your room if you're lucky, for easy loading and unloading. The rooms are clean, cozy and comfortable. I'd recommend The Narrow Gauge Inn as a good place to stay for a Yosemite visit. It's very close to the park entrance and about an hour drive from the valley floor with the crazy narrow winding roads.

There's not a huge choice of reasonably-priced accommodation at this end of Yosemite National Park, and the Narrow Gauge Inn does offer a certain rustic charm I guess. It didn't seem hugely busy when we arrived, so after a very friendly check-in we were soon in our room, which was down one flight of stairs at the rear of the building. The room décor was a bit chintzy bordering on twee, and it wasn't the largest space; however the bathroom area is quite large and contains a dresser area doubling as a workspace, with kettle and biccys, and an open wardrobe area to hang clothes. The balcony-cum-walkway outside has another couple of chairs to enjoy the evening air, although the view isn't particularly spectacular. Sadly, the restaurant wasn't open on our visit so we were directed up the road to the Tenaya Lodge hotel, where we had a very expensive and over-cooked piece of salmon. However, the Narrow Gauge Inn did manage to supply a light breakfast, which gave us the chance to see their dining room with its collection of stuffed bison and moose heads. I loved the vintage fire engine in the yard and the few remaining railway relics around were interesting too - a hangover from the days when it was connected to what is now the Yosemite Sugar Pine Railroad.

What a great find! Stayed for one night on our way into Yosemite Valley. Friendly and accommodating staff. Easy check in and access to our room. Parking was directly in front of our door. We had a single story creekview room, and the atmosphere was quiet and serene. We could hear the creek from our room and see it off of our balcony. Property was well maintained and adorable. We had everything we needed. Even a little refrigerator. There were sweet little trails to sitting areas through the grounds, perfect for relaxing with a good book or early evening happy hour. The pool was open and clean but we didn't have time to take advantage of it. Due to the recent post-COVID re-opening of the restaurant, breakfast was takeout only, but we did manage to enjoy the restaurant for late night coffee and delicious dessert. It was fascinating to see the incredible craftsmanship and historical design of the interior of the restaurant and bar. Super quaint and romantic! For the OHV enthusiasts, there are some great riding trails across the street from the inn at the Miami Creek OHV area. A mix of wide fire roads and narrow single track trails. Just beware of some trails needing maintenance, especially downed trees that block access to some areas. You just have to bring your patience and enjoy the adventure! The Sugar Pine Railroad next door offers different train tours through the area. It was relaxing and a lot of fun. We'll definitely be back for their Moonlight tour and BBQ. Although it's not brand new and the rooms aren't 5 star, the Inn is very accommodating and a very pleasant place to stay and I would recommend it any day over your standard Best Western type hotel in the area.

Service was fantastic and food was delicious. Con: The clubhouse is currently closed for renovations. Typically guests staying in cabins are offered a complimentary breakfast at the clubhouse. With it being closed they offer each guest a free breakfast option up at the lodge at their Grab and Go Deli. First day we went up as family and got our food no problem. The next day, my husband and youngest went and grabbed theirs and went for a hike. My oldest and I went up a bit later. We were informed we could not get it. They informed us we had to be all together and being my husband and daughter had already been we could not receive ours. Spoke to two different people. Front desk said yes of course you can and deli was saying no. Asked to speak to a manager and told her we were never informed that we had to be all together when we checked in. She said well it's "difficult" to keep track of 900 guests and said going forward they would inform guests but we could not get the breakfast. She did offer a shuttle back to the cabin though lol. Which we proudly decline because it was basically a slap in the face. Figure out a better system, you are running a resort. Maybe give each registered guest a voucher at check in. At minimum at least inform your guests at check of the requirement. In the end it wasn't even about the bottle of juice and cereal cup, it was the point of it all. An absolutely demeaning experience.

There was sights of deers, butterflies, and many other creatures to see. The balcony also had comfy rocking chairs which gives a homey feeling. For breakfast there was only a bagel or pastry nothing else. If you're driving there are many restaurants and food places in the towns an hour before B&B inn, but after passing Oakhurst town there will be far drives to be able to go to marts or other food places.

The room we had was the Mariposa room and it was beautiful and large! We were amazed as everything looked clean and there were 2 bathrooms(one had the shower and the other had the toilet). Please make sure to read ALL of the rules that are in BOTH bathrooms that are hanging on the wall(one of them is right near the toilet and the other is in the other bathroom near the hair dryer). Pamela had also greeted us and told us about the continental breakfast and that you are to eat it in your own room. She would later enter your room when you are not there to pick up the dishes. She was also helpful with any questions in regards to what to visit in Yosemite. We loved our private balcony and the view of the stream flowing by. Pamela surprised us by hauling up some rocking sitting chairs on the last night of our stay onto the balcony. We enjoyed that very much and the peacefulness. We also enjoyed the fridge in the room but also wished there was a freezer as well as we had brought our own ice packs. Cons: As much as we did not mind Pamela coming into our room to get the breakfast dishes while we were gone, we did notice a few things that felt odd. First, she took our used shower towels that was hanging on the inside of the horseshoe rack and rehung it on top of the horseshoe rack holder. She even took out the squishy non-slip padding in the shower and rehung it. She made our beds(though we could of sworn that one of the rules was that there was NOT going to be any room cleaning, etc. She took some of our other towels that we had used and replaced it with others(which was fine). BUT, she THREW AWAY my small styrofoam cup that I had left nicely on the sink counter. I had brought it from home and had used it to rinse my mouth after brushing my teeth. Who does that?? Who throws away someone else's things? I was very upset and it kind of made our stay there less enjoyable knowing that someone had gone through your stuff. Overall, it is a nice place to stay with a nice room and view but think about items that belong to you and what things you wouldn't want anyone to touch or throw away. We also suggest you bring your own food as there isn't really a place to eat at except for a place slightly down the street that sells sandwiches(it was good) or at the expensive restaurant at the hotel down the street. If you don't bring your own food, you would need to drive ALL the way back down the windy road into town.

Okay that's fine we know we are early but it was not a warm welcome. When we asked what we can do near the hotel in the meantime she responded "I don't know but I bet you can find something". This was my first time to this city and Yosemite. So we said screw it and drive into Yosemite valley. It is about an hour drive on a road with a lot of tight turns. However it is beautiful! Now fast forward to around 7pm when we came back and there is a new person working the front desk. This man was super wonderful and helpful. He gave us all the info we needed about the area and the hotel. This one man turned out initial opinion on the hotel around. Now the room is not much. Super tiny room with one bed inside. However you can basically park right outside your room, which is super nice. A major downside, the walls are so thin that we could hear the conversations and the tv from the rooms next to us. One of the rooms didn't turn off their tv till 4-5am. A huge redeeming factor of this hotel is breakfast. It's included and is a good continental breakfast. The lady working it was super nice and welcoming. Also another nice thing with this hotel is we saw no kids there. So it was a ton of adventurous adults. Huge bonus. I still wouldn't stay here again but huge bonus. So overall, minus one lady the staff was incredible and so was the breakfast. However the rooms were horrible. The hardest part is in Fish Camp you have only a few options to choose from. So it is this hotel, Tenaya up the street, or going to another town. Personally I would recommend go to Tenaya or into Yosemite and stay at the Wawona Lodge. You will probably have a better experience.

The WiFi speeds are fair and the staff is nice. Made the booking through Booking.com (https://www.booking.com/s/11_6/tujean53 -- if you want a referral). I was in the Fish Camp area region for a weekend wedding and it was the cheapest room I could find on there. Messaged through the booking to ask if I would be able to check in early b/c the regular check-in time is 3 PM. I had a wedding at 4, so I just asked if I could arrive and get a room early and they obliged. One thing that I thought was strange was how the bathroom came with the usual soaps and stuff, but no toothpaste or toothbrush (probs just too used to international travel....). Their Key Drop off is literally a drop off. You just drop the key into a mailbox looking thing that's outside the office that you check-in at. Location: It's close to Tenaya Lodge ( which is where I was attending the wedding, so it worked out for me). It's a little strange b/c to get to WCML, you drive in through a narrow street and it's at the end of the street. It's about a 1 hr drive to Yosemite from here. Breakfast: I've included pictures, but for some reason I was expecting more. But they did an okay job for a small place. They had a lot of beverage options: tea, coffee, apple juice, orange juice, and milk. Wish they had more "food" options other than the toast, waffles, sausage, and hard boiled eggs. I guess that's just because I'm just picky about the food I have for breakfast, but I really shouldn't be complaining b/c the breakfast is included in your stay with no additional cost. Parking: They take note of what car you have upon check-in, but there's ample parking available. You should be able to get the one right in front of your room. Room Condition: Room was fairly clean and the bathroom shower looked like it had been remodeled recently. The room I was in was fairly small (Queen bed), but I just needed a place to sleep for the night before heading to Yosemite the next day so it worked out. WiFi speeds: When I tested it, it was fair. I have T-Mobile and don't have cell reception around that area, so it was useful to route myself from there to Yosemite and it was good enough to download the area offline for future use. TIPS: If you have to check in early, feel free to send a message to WCML when you're making the booking on Booking.com and they'll let you know if they're able to accommodate. Don't forget to bring your ID and the CC that you used to book your stay.

We stayed on-site for the Christmas holiday and ate all our meals at the Lodge restaurant and tavern. 1) Lodge Accommodations -We always stay in the Deluxe Cabin - King. It's wonderful, cozy, spacious, and always clean. -The staff has always been exceptional, welcoming, and helpful, especially or despite working over holidays. -The nightly s'mores don't hurt -This holiday trip, Dez and Deneja, did a tremendous job with activities and were overall delightful. -Plenty to do (between hikes, games, and relaxing) to unwind with time away from electronics. 2) Restaurant and Tavern I'll start with the good: -The salads are really good and portion is large. -They have several options to accommodate different dietary restrictions. -Elk meatloaf is consistent and delicious -Sea Bass on Christmas was delightful (my husband's entree dish) -Servers & bar tenders are wonderful The bad: [Christmas Eve] Avoid the trout & gnocchi; trout was extremely dry and I'm not sure you could call whatever we received gnocchi. The "gnocchi" was too mushy, not much shape, and had a very off putting taste & fragrance. The worst: [Christmas] It was a prefixed menu, with delicious sounding options. One of the options was a Scotch Egg, seemed like an appropriate choice given the holiday. My husband chose the salad. I wish I had chosen the soup. When the scotch egg arrived, it looked good. Upon cutting, the pork/sausage was raw. The server, Cara (who was amazing the whole meal), apologized and took the dish back. The kitchen made a second attempt and the restaurant or kitchen manager stated that she watched them cook this one longer to ensure it was fully cooked. Well, it was more cooked than the last attempt. However, there were still clearly raw sections closer to the egg. Now, I can understand this isn't a regular menu dish, things happen, usually not a big deal. Yet, the restaurant or kitchen manager (didn't catch her name), decided to gaslight me instead. She said the pink bits are expected given that they use paprika (If that was the case, the rest of the meat wouldn't change colors when cooked nor would it be a different texture). She stated they only had the salad or I'd have to accept this, they were out of other options. Fair. Obviously, I didn't want food poisoning and didn't accept it. Cara did provide a 10% discount and, again, was extremely lovely the whole time. The tone and gaslighting from the restaurant or kitchen manager was completely unacceptable and off putting. We've stayed at Evergreen Lodge multiple times, included over the holidays; dining at the Restaurant and Lodge the majority of meals, with acceptable or great experiences. We'll continue to stay at Evergreen Lodge, but either dine at Rush Creek or select safer/regular menu items when dining here again.

Cioppino - 5/5 A spicy tomato-based seafood soup, packed full of halibut, scallops, shrimp and mussels. Entree-size. If you're in the mood for soup, this is where its' at. Bison Chili - 4/5 Good flavor, and very heavy on the meat. This one will fill you up. Charcuterie - 3/5 Some of this is quite good, but I wasn't too wild about the pickles or pepperoni. There are better options. California Cheese Platter - 5/5 The two gentlemen in my party who split this gave it rave reviews. Tiramisu - 2/5 Perhaps the only dish we ordered that resulted in any level of disappointment, I'm given to understand there wasn't much coffee flavor to be had with this one.

Our experience at Rush Creek Lodge was truly phenomenal. Both my wife and I work in hospitality, so…read morewe recognize what great service looks like--and Rush Creek absolutely delivers. The team clearly loves what they do, and it shows in every interaction across the resort. This was our family's first visit to Yosemite, and the resort felt like a true haven for both our son and us. There were so many thoughtful touches--from daily activities to easy access to beautiful trails. Our son especially loved the programming, from bingo to making clay animal handprints, and it was amazing to see how much he learned and enjoyed himself. The spa experience was a highlight. Alyssa provided the best facial I've ever had--her warmth, expertise, and attention to detail were truly exceptional. The spa facilities themselves were also fantastic and added to the overall sense of relaxation. The food was excellent, and we loved starting our mornings with coffee and fresh bakery items from the gift shop (which also had great finds for friends and family). Another standout was Mary Jane from the room service team--her service was best-in-class, always thoughtful, with extra touches like additional towels and personalized notes that made a real difference. We also appreciated the welcome gift for our son--it was such a meaningful and memorable touch. Rush Creek Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. We can't wait to return.
