I felt sad saying by to Ron and Liz because they made us feel so welcome and at home. I'm glad we found this place and can't wait to stay during our next Yosemite trip! We were able to hike in Yosemite using the YARTS bus system ($30 round trip) & came home to a freshly made bed & homemade cookies every night after hiking all day. Liz made us a delicious breakfast at 8:30am (although she did ask if we wanted it earlier) & we caught the YART into the park at 9:15- hiking by 10am. Our hosts were fantastic, the room (top floor) was HUGE & definitely cool- even on a 95 degree day (those other reviews are ridiculous- Liz had no issues keeping us comfortable- in both AC use & shade for breakfast). On the last day of our trip the YART busses didn't show up for our trip back & Ron rescued us from the park late at night (we were literally stranded in Yosemite). I will say If you are in your 20s, looking to party this isn't the place for you. If you are a recluse not wanting to socialize, this isn't the place for you. But If you have 4 kids & plan on leaving them at home- this is totally worth it. In every aspect. My husband & I played scrabble at night with white claws & listened to the river... we slept in... someone else cooked for us...we hiked all day & came home to a cozy bed & friendly faces. Ron & Liz are definitely "chatty" as some have mentioned in other reviews, but you're staying in their home- so we felt it was all apart of the B&B adventure/experience. We will 100% stay here again and recommend it to all of our friends.

I hurriedly secured a weekend at this B&B through Expedia based on amenities and proximity to the park entrances (30 min. to either the south or the west entrance through El Portal). As a big yelper I was surprised I didn't check/read here first and booked trusting Expedia's reviews. I was so delighted to find out it had 5 solid stars! This inn is tucked off a small highway in Ahwahnee and has 6 very different units, each with little extras. I loved our Half Dome room - we had our own private entrance, parking spot, and a jetted bathtub. There were stairs which I knew would be a struggle after some hiking, but it was so worth it. Also had a small deck. First amazing surprise was a greeting by the very sweet Inn cat Buster. The breakfast deserves its own paragraph. Very beautifully presented, delicious, an ample amount and you get two time options which made planning our park visits easier. Speaking of which, I love that if you're planning to do an early hike you can ask for your breakfast to be packed in advance. We got a lunch bag where our host drew Half Dome with a John Muir quote (so cute! I kept it :)) filled with fruits and granola. We also got different chocolates after housekeeping tended our room each afternoon. Our final morning we got a puffy pancake with fruit, yogurt, and bacon. Sherilee was so kind and offered us extra bacon. After our meal, the other friendly cat Hank came and sat on my lap for a while. It was great! There is a real family / warm / cozy vibe here. The grounds are awesome. Quiet, natural landscape. A really nice pagoda where a party of 6 could come chill and has an overhead fan, lights, and outlets. Pool and jacuzzi with lights and AMAZING jets (best I've been in?) open until 10pm. Beside the lodge is a beautiful outdoor fireplace next to a grill. The lodge itself is free to use anytime and they have a ton of movies and games, large table, really comfortable couches and always the perfect room temperature. They also have deet, sunscreen, cookies, and a basket with some poles you can borrow. Overall we felt so welcomed and very well cared for. Got more than expected and was nice to come back to this place after hiking in the park. Will definitely be recommending this place and hope to return.

The rooms are well appointed with everything you need. There's also a pool and hot tub which surprised me for a b & b. You get different breakfasts daily. Note for first time Yosemite people it is one hour and half to Valley. Neighboring Oakhurst has restaurants which was the route we went. Also important to note especially in summer, you must go early to Yosemite! The Fish Camp entrance gets very busy! Shari thanks so much for being so on top of things! You are the best!

We arrived to Sonora by way of Ebbetts Pass, winding down through crystal alpine lakes, faerytale meadows and boulders and forests that speak in quiet and ancient tongues. The pass opened upon amber grasses contrasted against lovely sagey-colored trees and verdant yet rugged vineyards. It turns out the Victorian-inspired Barretta Gardens is overseen with a care as golden as the hue of sepia-colored days gone past and motherlodes once legendary for their bounty. Yet breakfasts are as simple, elegant and memorable as any contemporary B&B can boast. The proprietors Astrid and Daniel run an inn as refreshing as the Moroccan mint tea set out every afternoon to greet us from a hot day exploring Gold Country. We found Barretta Gardens flexible and welcoming to our two boys as well. Our only suggestion is that if they choose to turn off each room's A/C while guests are away for the day that they would turn it back on in anticipation for their return in the evening. Baretta Gardens B&B is a rare treasure I hope more visitors to the area will mine for years more to come.

There is a lot of wildlife (deer, birds, turkeys and bats at night) on the surrounding grounds that are made to feel welcomed and provide such enjoyable entertainment it was a must to sit on the back deck each night. Our room was clean and kept nice and cool for us as we visited in the month of July when it was in the mid 80-90's. After a day of exploring Yosemite that was a comforting touch. Breakfast was outstanding with everything homemade and served so nicely by the bay window in the kitchen. Trays of bird seed on the deck beckoned woodpeckers to finches. Many hummingbirds were also seen daily. Needless to say we really enjoyed our time here and will come again and recommend staying here to all who visit the area.

All the rooms have well equipped bathrooms and private outside doors. The room was very comfortable and included a coffee maker with coffee, a hot pot with teas/hot chocolate, bottled waters, a small refrigerator, Wi-Fi, and satellite TV. Oh, and a pool to cool off in. Bonus if you are traveling with children. The grounds are well taken care of and I found it to be a great setting to sit with my morning cup of coffee and read a good book while awaiting our lovely 9am full American style breakfast, prepared by Joy. Served on fine china. If you're planning on visiting Yosemite, as several other guests were doing, it's only about a 40 minute drive to the entrance of the park. I imagine after spending the day seeing the sights at this beautiful yet tourist packed park, coming back to Yosemite Bed and Breakfast, would be a very welcoming place to chill. There is a barbecue to grill up dinner, or you can drive back to town (Mariposa), about 10 minutes, and have dinner at several restaurants. We like the pizza at The Pizza Factory. Maybe pick one up on you're way back from the park. Clay and Joy, themselves, have frequented many bed and breakfasts in their travels and have taken the best from their experiences and turned it to Yosemite Bed and Breakfast. As I said to Clay as we were reluctantly heading back to the SF Bay Area, I wouldn't change a thing.

People in the reviews raved about the freshly made frittatas, sausages, and other items, so we were excited for a homemade breakfast. We stayed for 3 nights in the pricier rooms (El Capitan and Clouds Rest). The first morning he made us a vegetarian frittata and it was fantastic. The second morning he came to our room, complained that accommodating our dietary restriction took too much time because he had to make meals for all the other guests and asked if he could bring us porridge. Like what?! Every other patron gets a freshly made breakfast and we get porridge? We asked if he could at least make pancakes. He whined, complained, and huffed about, and begrudgingly complied. We thought that was a very easy/understanding compromise (they definitely didn't taste as good as the vegetarian frittata, so it was a compromise for us). We felt very awkward after his tantrum and tried our best to avoid him. It really soured our stay, which had started off delightfully. He also ran our credit card twice, said it didn't go through (it did) and we had to go through the credit card company to cancel the extra charges, so watch out for that. We've come to Yosemite about 2 times since and while we would love to stay at the Blackberry Inn, we remember the unpleasant owner and choose not to go back. If you can't handle a modest amount of customer service (it's a bed AND breakfast), maybe don't go into the hospitality industry? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
