This is a great place to go to if you love waiting for 30 minutes to get into only to wait an additional 50 minutes before your food hits the table (ON A WEDNESDAY). Your waitress will walk up to with most obvious fake smile on her face and not give a ship about what you want. If you're lucky, you'll even catch her rolling her eyes after she takes your order and walks away. The music is nice and loud which makes having conversation difficult! But hey, who really wants to have a conversation when you're eating and drinking? The one saving grace for this place is that the food (when it eventually came out) was pretty decent. I had the mac and cheese which was heavenly. The tacos were great (get the guac, trust me) both fish and vegetarian. The yam fries and onion rings were yam fries and onion rings, you can't really mess that up. I had the best mediocre $14 Olde Fashioned I've ever had there. If you plan on going with a large group, and don't mind over paying for drinks (although $6.75 for domestic pints isn't too bad) and love the idea that all dishes are $4.95 then this is the place for you. I recommend sitting outside (if it isn't too hot) as you can catch a pretty sweet view of the tower from the patio. All in all this place was more hype than anything for me. Decent cheap food however the service is VERY slow. Every time I've been here I have had to wait over 30 minutes for my food. Also, if you order fries you might want to ask for no pepper because they tend to go a little overboard. As for the drinks, they are quite overpriced but that is probably their main source of revenue. Overall, if you have lots of time to kill and you want cheap food, this is your place. If you're on your lunch break you will probably want to avoid! read more

The one in Vancouver is much better more cooler and better food..I went here with some friends had burgers, wings, and some drinks...the burger tasted awful like it's been frozen and the wings we got were gross they were sooo raw blood was gushing out... Pros: Cheap food (everything on the menu is $5 and the portions are decent - between myself and my boyfriend we ordered perogies as a starter to share & a burger for mains each and we were full - he had the works burger & I had the pulled chicken sandwich - all yummy, I highly recommend the sandwich, next time instead of a starter though I think we'll share a salad with our mains) & really fun vibe (there was a live DJ when we went who was playing cheesy 90s tracks). Cons: Drinks are pretty expensive (that's how they make their money I guess), the music inside is blaring (like, uncomfortably so - you can barely hear people), they don't take debit - just cash or credit (like, not even Visa Debit!?) & the service isn't great (our server was obviously overloaded & she got snippy when 1 of our friends asked for his drink which he had ordered 20 mins beforehand & when she was collecting the plates, she spilled food onto my lap (not a big deal but there was no apology or acknowledgement even). I'll definitely go again, for the cheap food if nothing else, but I'll just wait for a spot on the patio where the music won't be so loud (& I'll make sure I have cash on me!). read more

After seeing that all food was $4.95 we thought we would give this place a chance. This food is very large and really tasty considering it's $4.95 for ANY food. We split an app and both got an entree without breaking the bank and leaving full. Atmosphere is fun but a little cramped understandably. Drinks are a little more on the expensive side but you can't really complain when you're getting a good meal at such a low price. I would certainly recommend going here especially if you're on a budget but still want to go out. read more

I am so torn about this place. The food is good and the prices are great. We had the veggie burger (amazing!), nachos (okay - they did not layer the toppings so the bottom half was just plain chips) and quesadillas (meh). What annoys me about this place are the waitresses! Number one: they do not carry around notepads and try to remember your order but they always get it wrong! Like c'mon, why can't you just get my order right?! Number two: they do not tell you things cost extra and sneakily inflate your bills that way. I hate that about this place so much. I do not mind paying for food - just be transparent! I was so excited to try this restaurant out. A number of friends recommended the place, so my boyfriend and I went. We waited 15 minutes to get inside, which was fine, then when we got a seat we had to wait 15 minutes for the server to come around - okay no big deal, it was super busy on a beautiful day, that can be expected. We put our whole order in at once - 2 cokes, an app and a warehouse burger and a smokey bbq burger. It toon 20 minutes for our drinks to come, and they were flat, 45 minutes for our app to come, and another 45 minutes for our food to come, and they brought the wrong burger for my boyfriend. The burger was gross, I can honestly say I would much rather a McDonald's burger, and I cannot stand McDonalds. Both burgers were cold, tasted like they had freezer burn. Horrible. Once we were done eating, it took the server another 20 minutes to come over to us and clear the table and then another 20 minutes to get the bill. She was useless, and had the personality of a dead fish. Did not smile once. I get it is busy and they have a lot of orders, but based on how people rave about this, I don't get it. Went with two girlfriends this past Friday evening. The line qas long at 6.. People were coming out of the restaurant and you can see empty tables but nonody was being seated. Once inside, the food took a long time but it was cheap so whatever. We then noticed the table beside us left and has been left not dirty for 20 mins.. No wonder theres a huge line. read more

This is not just an angry customer; I am writing this review only because I witnessed the worst and most horrible hospitality I've ever encountered.. As for me things went alright but the mature and respectful couple who accompanied me, were treated disastrously! The waitress brought the wrong food 20 minutes after my meal was served.. The gentleman with me expressed his concern: "this is not what I've ordered" then the waitress goes: "you're only paying 5 bucks, you don't like it, go to McDoland's". Seriously guys? I mean you're being charged 18% service fee which balances the discount on foods, then the default tip is 20%, I mean, apart from the preposterous marketing strategy, that kind of attitude is unbelievable at this time of the world.. Most of the customers seem to be underage drinking but that doesn't give one the right to behave that way!! I've never actually experienced anything quite like Queen St Warehouse... And I absolutely love it! My first few visits were only for lunches so the vibe was pretty chill, very Whistler-esque, snowboarder/skater type of restaurant. But then come night time, complete change in energy level! They have a DJ spinning anything from old school hiphop, to 90s favs, to current top 40s, music everyone knows. The servers are dressed really cool, super hot but not club-ish, and the bartenders... OMG the bartenders lol. They are so amazing at getting everyone hyped up and drinking, having a blast and creating such an infectious atmosphere. I've never seen bartenders control crowds like these ones do. The girls love them. Once you experience it, you will know lol. Probably my favourite part about Queen St Warehouse though is that there's absolutely zero pretension there. No attitudes, no egos, and its really hard to find places like that in Toronto anymore. 5 stars for overall experience. I f-ing love that place. read more

Went here mid-day (Tuesday), our experience was very.. hit and miss. The staff are both polite and off-putting, (we were told we had to wait all the way outside when the line we were waiting in had been going to the doors for at least four tables ahead of us, and the server was literally seating the table ahead of us when we were told this, which resulted in people trying to walk in ahead of us thinking there was no line or people waiting, which was really weird). Our food took a really long time, four tables around us who were seated after us received their food first (one table that ordered almost the same things as us). But the food was adequate, for the price (everything being $5) it was great, it was enough food to be filling but not too stuffed. Overall the taste was okay, I had the beef dip sandwich and fries, and my partner had the macaroni and cheese, he was warned this dish was really spicy, but it didn't have very much flavour. So, if you want a decent sized meal, at a great price, and are okay with mediocre service and waiting a while.. this place is the spot to go. read more

I went to Queen St. Warehouse with a group of 4 friends today. We were on a lunch break so we had about 45 minutes to eat and get back to work, since it was the early afternoon, there wasn't that many people there so it was definitely manageable. We sat down, the waitress asked us if we were ready and we were...but she forgot to bring her notepad so she left to go grab that. We ordered and waited 30 minutes with our waitress nowhere in sight. I flagged down another waitress and told her we've been waiting 30 minutes for our food and we were in a bit of a rush. She told me she would get our original waitress and a couple minutes later that waitress came by just to tell me "it's been 15 minutes and your order is the next one up." My friends and I were shocked. This waitress was nowhere in sight and we were monitoring the time closely so we knew that 30 minutes had gone by but the waitress came up to me to explicitly deny it. A few minutes later she arrived with our food and I ordered the Beet and Goat Cheese salad. My portion was the SMALLEST by far of all of my friends' portions. 3 of us ordered various salads and mine was about half the size. I tasted it and it was foul. I think the beets were canned and sitting out for days and it was drizzled in so much balsamic I couldn't taste anything else. I would have asked the waitress to replace it as I was unable to eat my meal but since we were in a rush to get back to work I just refused to eat it and left it as is. When our waitress came to pick up our plates, she had no comments/concern over the fact that my plate was fully untouched and she gave us our bills with the SERVICE CHARGE ALREADY ON THE BILL. I know each item on the money is $5 and it's not a lot of money but that waitress did not deserve any tip. I had unresponsive service, a blatant disregard for my concern, half the portion size (probably because I had said something), with horrendous taste, and on top of that I WAS FORCED TO PAY HER A TIP. The waitresses don't care about the customers at all: I don't care if my item was $5 or $50, I expect a decent level of courtesy as a waiter to their customer. Apparently this place doesnt have security guards on friday nights and they really just dont give a fuck either. If you to order you have to across the the front of the bar for 15 mins, because its so packed you might as well be a sardine rather than a paying customer, until you find an empty spot to order a drink. In this process your likely to get shoved around... a lot. I did. Got shoved, then tripped over the person in front of causing an inch of my drink to spill on this guy. Now when i say inch i mean literally an inch which ended up on the bottom of his sweater. Ooooo big deal, but apparently is was. Even after I genuinely apologize and explained that i was pushed this bafoon he took his (full) drink and poured it down my head. Pissed and soaking wet I wanted this guy to learn you cant be an utter dbag and still have a good night. Having worked in the service industry before i knew exactly what to do to make this guy pay for what he had done... or so i thought. First things first, tell the security guard. Theres gotta be around 300 people in this tiny plplac, there has to be sercurity right? Wrong. No security what so ever. No wonder dbags are in full force knowing there will never be any reprocussions for their actions. After asking to speak with the manager and waiting for 15mins, still soaking wet, he said there is nothing really he can do. But here's a free shot of jagger. Now im a big girl having a drink spilled over my head for no reason sucks but at that point i realized it was a lost cause and i sucked it up took my free jagger shot and went back and re-joined my group. But nevertheless this dbag and dbags alike are still running free in this place and the fact that it couldve been worse then just a drink spilled on an innocent girl makes me sick that this place doesnt feel the need to get some security. Working in a bar before myself i know how essential that is not only for the safety of the non dbag customers but for the servers as well. My advice if you dont wanna wait an hour to get into a tiny over crowded where customer service seems to be their lowest priority ... avoid this place. read more

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. The food was sustenance at best, can't even call it ok but it's cheap so you can't expect much. Then to add insult to injury the servers do nothing but constantly try to upswell you without letting you know any of their suggestions cost more so you think you ordered a 5$ burger but with how pushy the servers are you walk out with a 17$ bill and then they have the audacity to brag about how good they are at selling and that's why she's the number one server. The cherry on top was as soon as we paid she asked us to leave because there was a line and she didn't want to get a bad review on yelp, like we didn't wait an hour in that same line. I felt so uncomfortable the entire time when she kept trying to make us order more drinks or upgrade and then to ask us to leave was absolutely unacceptable. We paid and before she even left the table had already asked us to leave. Will not be returning and do not recommend anyone to go. The servers are rude and just try to make you rack up a big bill so they can get a bigger tip. read more

On Monday, June the 1st, this was my first experience dining in El Furniture warehouse at Queen. They have two locations ( one at the Annex and Queen). My sister and I thought why not end the night with $5 meals at Elfurniture? We went and got a seat quickly. Our waitress she has long white - blonde hair and tall. My sister wanted to order an Alexander Keith and i asked politely if there was wifi. The waitress id'd my sister and gave her a nasty dirty glare while id'ing her. I don't know what her problem was but she didn't have to give a nasty devilish look even if she was having a bad day. After she i'ded my sister, i then asked her if there was wifi available. The waitress gave me a rude attitude with a "no, we don't have wifi." First of all you don't need to be so god damn rude especially when you are dealing with customers like me every single day. Secondly, yes you lied to me. There's wifi available at the restaurant. How? My phone shows that there is wifi available. Yeah it could been for the employees only but really you could of said "oh, sorry, our wifi is only use for our staff". Overall once the our waitress was going to hand our order in, we just left instantly because my sister and i already knew that if we were to continue on with our dining it would be bad enough than how it was. I will never come to the Queens location knowing that it was my first time dining at El furniture. Even the staffs at the Annex are so much friendlier than the trash service at Queen. Extremely disappointed with this place. I went with a couple of my friends on a Thursday night to grab food around 10pm. We walk into the place and before we could even say we needed a table for 4 a waiter at the bar walks up to my friend and asks her to wait outside in the winter with a temp of -10. Looking around the place it was not busy and there were also a couple of tables free. So to be asked to wait outside in this cold weather made no sense to me. We asked again to see if we told him it was just the 4 of us he might try and find a seat for us or atleast try to find out if a table is going to become available soon. This individual showed no empathy - #1 rule in customer service but clearly he was oblivious to this concept. We hated the way he spoke and treated us, we felt like we were entering a club and had to wait in line. Instead of waiting in the cold we decided to walk to the corner to Jack Astors and truly after such rude behavior we didnt want to give Warehouse any business. For some reason as we cross the lights I decided to call Warehouse and see if we were being mocked. Surprise Surprise we were because literally as I called to find out if they had a table free for 4 the person on the phone tells me "YES" and this is literally 30 seconds after we walk out of the restaurant. The manager and the person on the phone showed no empathy or even apologized for the mishap. I would never go back this place. Worst customer service in the world. read more

Just unacceptable. I went with my friend for lunch and fortunately when we arrived the line wasn't very long, and was moving pretty fast until the person before us went in. We waited outside for around 20mins until a waitress came outside and said she was looking for 3 people. At this point we were the first in line, but she refused to let us in because we had only two people. There was no group of 3 in our entire line. There were either groups of 2 or 6. So she made us keep waiting and went back inside. Another 10 mins or so she came back, still looking for a group of 3 people, my friend explained to her that everyone in line was either in a group of 2 or more than 5 so why not let us in and save everybody some time? Once again she refused to let us in and at this point my friend was a bit upset, went inside and asked another waitress if we can wait inside because it's too cold outside, so finally we were in. After the meal we had to ask for the bill twice because the first time they forgot about us, and it took forever for the bill to finally came. We felt so targeted throughout, from the moment we came til the moment we left. What a terrible experience. read more

Worst location out of the two in Toronto. Their take on customer service is to treat you like shit and act like they are superior to have this "elusive" and "exclusive" appeal. They fabricate lineups when HALF THE BAR IS EMPTY. Cheap food, you get what you pay for. Frozen and reheated and refried, but cheaper than McDonalds. But the time you waste waiting for service outweighs the low cost. Alcohol is overpriced, the servers act like they are better than you. The female servers are condescending and rude and the male servers are overbearing and creepy. Skip this bar there's many better in Toronto. The owners Ian and Sean are laughing all the way to the bank with desperate young people's money who want to be "cool". It's not cool, it's overrated and pathetic. There's a crowd of "regulars" that troll this bar that are the epitome of everything that sucks about Toronto. "I'm friends with someone who banged the weeknd" "if I go dance on the bar will you give me a free drink?" Are typical things said. Whatever, some people enjoy it, it was kinda cool when it first opened but it has gone majorly downhill and is overrun with wannabes. read more

Let me preface this review by saying I have read every other review of this place, and I take great pride in assuring you this review is definitive evidence of the quality you will encounter should you decide to visit this establishment. The first point of interest and by far the most disappointing aspect of my evening was the neon Sailor Jerry sign positioned inconspicuously beside the bar. The capital J was the only character lit, and the capital S was only 50% energized. A serious detriment to the brand representation and a real shame for spiced rum everywhere. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger and when my food arrived I was devastated to realize that the ketchup squeezy bottle was located on the next table and I had to rudely interrupt a legitimately engaging conversation to request it be transferred to our table for use. Speaking of rude interruptions, our waitress came over to our table shortly after our food arrived to check that everything tasted OK. To make things even worse, I was about to eat my first handful of pepper fries when I noticed a couple at another table momentarily not talking to each other, completely killing my social vibe for the evening. My beer was too thirst quenching, forcing me to continue ravaging the pepper fries which then resulted in pepper flakes between my teeth. Unacceptable. Music was playing, making it near impossible to speak without music playing, and some guy got up from his table and walked in front of the TV while I was watching a Kendrick Lamar video, blocking my view for at least 4 seconds. When my friend ordered dessert, the waitress said the ice cream that came with it would be "melty" - it took us a good 8-12 minutes to determine if this was a good or bad thing, so we put it down to bad, but it was actually good, completely destroying our confidence. All in all, I would not go back here for a couple of days, purely because I have plans the next couple of nights and I would never listen to Yelp reviews that were written out of spite for an experience that never claimed to change the world.
