I wish I had paid attention to the bad reviews. Got a set of acrylics done. I'm used to getting sets in LA and SoCal area... in comparison, the technique he used was haphazard and terrible. Both manicurists who worked on my hands were pretty rough and careless. Because of the terrible technique, the tips turned out lumpy and thick. On top of that, the salon was incredibly dirty. So I'm not one to complain much. It takes a lot to make me actually say something but I have to for people who don't like their fingers cut. The father, I believe, was the one who did my filling. He is super nice and is very attentive to his customers (which is why I gave them two stars. They are very nice people). However, I do not like it when my skin is rubbed off. He wasn't very careful and made me bleed twice(and he said "oh wow you have delicate fingers". No apologies.) Most of my cuticles were cut as well. Whenever I wash my hands I get reminded of the cuts on my cuticles. The nail Polish wasn't put on cleanly because he rushed to help other people who came in early for their appointment. Perhaps my fingers are super delicate and get cut easily, or maybe he just isn't careful. Whatever the case may be, if you were to decide to come here, make sure you don't have delicate fingers like me and make an appointment. read more

Being in the medical field field, I have been paying for pedicures for over 20 years. As a travel nurse and as a permanent position, so alot of locations and states. Just moved to this area, and tried this location out due to the star ratings. The employee did the absolute worst service I have ever received. Her service was rough, sloppy, and painful. She cut my toe nails with gel on, which by the way is very painful since the nail is hardened with gel on and does not bend. She cut several to the quick. Then she proceeded to file them roughly and they were so short she was basically filing my skin, rather than nails. Her massage was patting my skin, barely rubbing no actual massaging and she was so lazy and uninterested in her job. She takes the very hot towel and literally throws it on my legs as she walked up to me. I have never had such care, I was absolutely floored. It was not busy, nor hectic, I had made an appointment and was on time. So I could not understand such poor service from a location with such good ratings. At this time I was completely done and disgusted. I asked her to wipe me down, declined the gel service that I booked. I paid and left without discussion, because I am not here to tell you how to do your job, the bar is set so low, there is no way to recover to a decent or acceptable level of service. read more

I searched for 10 weeks trying to find a nail tech that did a great job. I searched Facebook and yelp and found this Awesome nail tech here in Redding @ Queen Nails. I was a nail tech since 92, and can no longer do my own nails. So as picky as i am, An Le is one of the best I have found. She will be my nail tech until I leave Redding next year. I don't live in Redding but actually live 45 minutes away so there are times that it might be 3 or 4 weeks until I get in for another manicure. I went in and got my nails done. The paint didn't hold up. I called spoke to the woman owner,and after explaining how dissatisfied I was with paying that much,and the Paint cracked,and flaked. She said" there's nothing I can do for you" I asked for the owner after she said" there's nothing I can do" and hung up. So you can't fix it? So they take the money and don't offer anything. Went here with some friends to get our nails done for Valentine's Day and let me just say we will never be going back. We all had appointments for 11:30 and we didn't leave until 1:40. Ann started my sisters nails then jumped to my friend and then we were either passed off to her mom or left to just sit there while she worked on people who walked in after us. I don't see the point of making appointments and not finishing one set of nails before jumping to someone else. Apparently if you're not a regular you don't matter and have hours to spare just sitting there. Not to mention that the lady doing my pedicure was very rough and rude and cut the skin on her feet multiple times. I just got a pedicure with my daughter and they did a fabulous job! The foot/calf massage was much longer than any other place I've been to. Super nice and my toes look so great. My daughter had lost her nail in an accident and it wasn't pretty. They put an acrylic on and made her look so pretty. I would give them 5 stars but the salon itself needs a good cleaning. Dust, mop and surface cleaning is all but otherwise the chair, bowl and tools were clean. I will be back! read more

This is the BEST salon in Redding. An and her family make sure everyone who walks through the door is taken care of. My nails have never looked so great and the design is just perfection. She can literally do whatever you want on your nails. For acrylic nails with powder on top and a gel top coat it was $35! Which to me, is completely worth it! My sister got acrylic nails as well with a crazy design on every single finger and it was only $40! That is amazing. I am all the way from San Francisco and will be coming here every two weeks for my fill. Came in for a pedicure and manicure. A friend an I called to make an appointment. When we got here, we had to wait 30 min. That was fine, I figured they are rated 4 stars on yelp so they must be very thorough. The older lady did my pedicure and rushed through, through some lotion on my feet and legs and then left a hot towel on my feet as she cleaned all the pedicure spa basins. She reacted multiple times, even grabbing my arm, to the pain he caused her. We both asked him multiple times to be more gentle. We were about to walk out and he toned it down. First thing, I made an appointment and when I go there I still ended up waiting for 7 minutes! May not be a big deal for some but I make appointments for a reason. Secondly, I showed the lady a picture of what I wanted done (ombré pink and white) and the picture was from their Facebook page that was done in there salon and they look NOTHING like what I wanted. On top of that these are the thickest nails I've ever seen! And it's only been a week all but 2 nails are lifting! What can I say about Queen Nails and An other than I simply love love love this place! I used to be that girl that got her nails done and couldn't even make it two weeks without taking them off. Well An has changed that. I started going to Queen Nails in April and I have been back every 2-3 weeks. An gets my nails to the perfect shape and length every time. There's plenty of colors to choose from and whenever I'm not sure what I want to do An offers up her expert opinion. I have never left the salon not loving my nails. Went in for pedicures with my mom while she is in town. Only 1 chair has a person in it, but when I said we both wanted pedicures they said "uuuh" and I asked if something was wrong. They said that they do not take walk ins & had another appointment coming any minute. This place is a lot better than most of the typical nail salons in Redding. It's clean, the owner is extremely friendly and there are a variety of polishes to pick from. One thing that was a little disappointing was that my mom and I made appointments but I still had to wait nearly 40 minutes before I got started on my pedi. It appeared that just the owner and her parents worked at the shop so when a crowd of people came, it got a little chaotic. My nails turned out great though and I thought it was really nice that they remembered my mom from her previous appointment and that they let her sit by me after she was done with her mani while I was getting my pedi. I have been getting my nails done forever, but had never tried gel nails. A friend at work told me about An's salon and her amazing gel nails. I have to say that I am; 1) NEVER going to have plain Acrylics again and; 2) Never ever going back to my old salon! An's salon is busy but is always very clean. She has the latest equipment and techniques available. You would be wise to set aside an hour and a half for your appointment and longer for a walk-in. But the results are worth it... I get so many compliments on my nails and with my busy schedule I can go about a month with no chips or fades and they still look great. This review is long over due. This is the BEST NAIL SALON EVER! An is so talented. There are not enough words to describe how much I love everything Queen has to offer. My nails ALWAYS come out perfect. An's acrylic last forever as well. I have had mine on 6 weeks and counting and they still look good. I don't go anywhere else but Queen nails. The prices are good, 25 for a full set before designs I believe. Where as I've seen others charge 35+. An herself is out of this world nice. She is so friendly. I remember the first time I went to the salon with friends, she treated us like we were long time clients. I went back a couple months after, with friends, and she still remembered us. Her parents are nice as well. An's mom usually does my pedicures, and I always leave a happy camper. I have never been cut before which is a big plus. Another plus about Queen is it does not have the toxic nail salon smell in my opinion. There is a great color selections on the wall, and with An's artistic ability sky is the limit. You think she is related to Picasso She has never turned down any of my nail art ideas, and she usually adds a twist to them. Hence the art work comes out better. An is literally the best! I've been to 3 other nail salons and I keep coming back to her. No one can make any acrylic nail as thin & durable as her, I am NOT exaggerating. My nails will last 4 weeks easily. Not only that but she can make any design you ask her to do. Let me start by saying this is not my first time coming here so it had to be bad for me to leave a review. First it was very nice they took the 3 of us girls last minute but it went all down hill as soon as we walked in. I was texting something important and the man (not sure if he's the owner or not) told me to sit in the seat very rudely. I was apparently ignoring him so he gets louder and yells at me to sit down. Calm down sir, I will sit! All 3 of our manicures were super rushed when no one else was there. He cut my cuticle so low it bled on my thumb. He left the clear on the sides of my nails and made them so square they were extremely sharp I had to file them when I got home. He put the cotton/foil on to take the gel off my nails and walked away to go to the back room for a good 10 minutes, was he eating back there?! All 3 of our manicures chipped either same day or within a couple days. Awful experience. It just shows bad quality business. I have never had such a bad experience here. I had high hopes coming here. The beautiful woman who owns the place very likely is quite talented in what she does. I however got my nails done by a gentleman and couldn't wait to leave. I attempted to point out all the ways the basic shapes weren't in line, but he couldn't seem to get my nails even OR straight. I bled in three spots. All of my nails are different lengths. Some nails didn't get painted all the way to the cuticle. There's clumpy acrylic under my nails. Basically, he did a terrible job and I would NOT RECOMMEND coming and seeing him in particular. I have been to Queen nails a few times, but the other day was sadly my last. I have had the pleasure of getting Ahn a few times, but she is so busy you will most likely end up with her dad. If that's the case, run! The last few times I have been here has been awful and painful! I have gotten cuts on my fingers from her dad filing too hard, and raw cuticles from him using the power filer on my skin! I've noticed that I'm not the only reviewer who has had this experience. My polish jobs have been a mess, uneven, and way too thick. You shouldn't have to spend 15 min fixing your nails AFTER you leave the nail salon. I've had polish all over my fingers, and the underside of my acrylics are jagged and sloppy. He was dropping tools on the floor, then picking them up and using them without cleaning them or swapping them out. So gross! I sat in my bathroom filling my nails to smooth them out, scraping the excess acrylic globs out from under my nails, cleaning up my hands with nail polish remover and a Q-tip. So unprofessional and extremely disappointing. Sadly, I will not be returning, and I will be finding another salon. If you can get an appointment with Ahn, you will have a wonderful experience. But if you get an appointment with anyone else, you're in for a disappointing and painful manicure. read more
