I went in last week with a friend to get our nails done as walk in clients. In response to one of the nail artists asking the other if she was able to work on us she responded "Well I was going to have lunch with my mom, but I guess I'll just tell her forget it." right in front of us. Throughout our entire visit, the employees (primarily the owner) continuously demeaningly gossiped about a previous nail artist of theirs who was no longer with them. The whole thing was a big, unprofessional drama fest. A couple days later after really examining my nails, I noticed the nail artist failed to even push down my cuticles, some of the nails are filed slightly at a diagonal angle, and 2 of my finger nails are a slightly different length than the corresponding nail on the opposite hand, This was absolutely not the $50 nail job that I paid for! I heard they got the redding business reward. Ive been in a couple 3-5times. The way i found them was thru a salon distributer. These girls working there a great. All of them. They do all kinds of stuff. Manicures hair hair extensions gel nails they even have a playroom for the kids. These girls treat all their customer like family. I just love all those girls. I don't typically write reviews for businesses but with this I was so unhappy I felt I had to. I was so excited to finally make an appointment with you guys because I've heard such great things and love everything I've seen on social media. I was scheduled with a nail technician that had told me upfront she'd only been doing nails roughly a year and only worked there for a week.. I get it everyone has to start somewhere. I only needed a fill and it took almost two hours and the end result was so disappointing I wanted to cry! When I called back the next morning because one of my nails had already popped off the owner tried telling me it was my fault because of where id previously gotten them done and her best advise was for me to just go ahead and pull all the remaining nails off myself and call the nail girl back and ask if she would just put a new set on for half price!! I already paid $55 for a fill that was worse than when I came in! Nothing to help compensate for the horrible experience and I'm sorry when you have little experience and are looking for clients you should not charge the same as ladies that have a 10 year career of doing nails. I About fell over when she told me what I was being charged! I will not be back and I was so excited to go there. Terrible business. read more

Nail Candy is the best place to get your nails done! My nail tech Candace is absolutely AMAZING!!! I have met three other nail techs there which includes the owner and they are all super nice! When I was initially looking to get my nails done I went all over town including some very popular spots. I was looking to get gels and not many people around town do actual gel nails. Some places use a powder that they mix with water and they call it gel. Others use only a thin gel top coat and charge as if they put full gels on... I found this terribly frustrating. Candace does full real gel, no powder stuff and she is talented enough to also do freeform nails! Nail Candy was able to get me in the very next morning. Totally worth it! The women at Nail Candy are so down to earth and friendly unlike some of the other nail salons around town. I get so many comments on my nails! I have been telling everyone how wonderful this salon is. read more

Will never go Becky I this salon. Was so disrespectful and was treated like so badly and when I called them to tell them how unhappy I was and that nails were totally messed up they told me they Could not do anything and that I would have to pay for them to fix them even when they are the ones that screwed them up, I mean my nails looked like a ski slope and never really got the service I wanted or the nail designs I wanted. Writing from a friends Yelp account as I don't have my own... After hearing & seeing great things from Nail/hair candy (my girlfriend goes to Nikki & has for years) I decided to treat myself & get my hair done. I called & was referred to a girl named Britt. From the start I had a feeling my appt wasn't going to go how I wanted. She was late, so I waited outside the locked building until she arrived.. not impressed. During my appt she FORGOT TO BLEACH A SECTION OF MY HAIR... then tried to process that section quickly with the blow dryer to get it caught up with the rest of my head. Seriously?!. In the end my hair was orange, fried and I left crying. Needless to say she refunded my entire $100 payment. My hair is still so brittle and I have toned it multiple times on my own... with nail/hair candy having such a good reputation I don't know why they wouldn't have booked me with a more experienced hair tech or honestly how she even still works there. -Amanda read more

Okay, so it's 5-stars in the universe of Redding, because it's better than any other Redding experience I've had thus far. However, I'm not sure I can confidently say it's as good as it gets as there are more WOW dream salons in San Francisco and Milwaukee. I'm sure you will pay more for that WOW factor though. I was really busy in February and March so I didn't make an appointment with my regular hair stylist. I figured it was a sign from the universe to freshen things up, so it's a bit of a longish story as to how I came to end up making an appointment with Niki but I'm glad I did. I was a little nervous about trying a new stylist, but she made me feel right at ease, gave me a great cut, and a cute style to wear home for dinner. I am definitely coming back in a month or two for another trim and to get my color re-done. I normally do my own nails and have this aversion to acrylic, but this would definitely be the place to come if you wanted to treat yourself to a mani and pedi. They also had a lot of cute clutches and purses for sale that I will have to check out when I have more time. The location is super convenient for me as I both work and live on the south side of Redding. Yay for no more driving around in circles downtown. read more

I started coming here a while ago now, and FYI have never stayed with the same Nail Tech this long ever. I am extremely picky on how my nails are done & look, well let me say, they have been perfect every time. I always have some event going on that I usually try to plan my nails with, and every single time Alycia absolutely nails the logos, art work, colors, etc. perfectly! Example, I NEEDED Kawasaki green nails with all sorts of Motocross logos, she literally looked at a picture a couple times, and did each of them by hand till she got it! The color was identical to the dirt bike & the logos were EXACTLY what I asked for. I have never felt more comfortable in a salon before than I do here. I walk in and all the girls are extremely welcoming, I have never had a problem (that wasn't my own fault) with scheduling appointments either! AND I have never had as many compliments on my nails as I do now! I am so happy that I have chosen Nail Candy & Alycia to stick with - Great choice! read more
