The food here is excellent. Nice people too. But totally and utterly disorganized. Do not use this place for parties or events. Organized a birthday party for about 18 people. Met with the managers and general manager at least 3 to 4 times starting about a week before the event. Reserved the table and the location of the table. Parking could become somewhat of an issue if you arrive during peak hours. lunch time wasn't too packed. Covered the table with brown paper as if I was going to have a steamed crab feast, but I came for the fish sandwich today. Service (good) - Waitress is cool but it did seem like she was a bit annoyed that we were reminded to look at the menu after she asked if we were ready to order. I know we should have been someone ready by the time she came but this was a business meeting so we couldn't just cut conversations at that time. I know that any other time I would be hungry and ready to order before the waitress gets to our table. Price (good) - The prices were very reasonable for seafood, especially for being so close to Rosslyn. Food (good) - Fried Fish Filet sandwich was one of the best I have ever had. The breading was crispy and perfectly seasoned. The meat was flaky. The sandwich had some weight to it when I picked it up. Overall Experience (Almost good) - Came here for with my boss on my recommendation and I was a bit worried about how the waitress almost seemed annoyed with us (or the leg brace she was wearing while waiting tables). Love this place. It's definitely a hole in the wall restaurant...but, some of the best ones are! The atmosphere is great. Not because of the run down little building, but because of the cool diverse crowd that it attracts. They have excellent seafood dishes Fried, baked and steamed... So this place came highly recommend,we looked it up online and me and my hubby decided to go for dinner. It was on a Saturday so I expected a wait. BUT When we arrived what I didn't expect was all of the hiccup they came at us....so first off it's a small parking lot off in the back, it may park about 20 cars give or take...this place sits in the middle of a residential neighborhood...the parking lot was full, and after circling the block, hubby had to park down a hill at the end of the street which was not close...fast forward to finally getting to the door..the host greeted me outside,and I ask for a table for two. She asked did I have a reservation and I said no...her response was "oh well it's going to be quite an wait". Since this was my first time I ask is it reservations only because she said it like I should have known to have call and made reservations, and it's not on the site stating its required....she was like no it's just a wait of about 1hour and half. I said ok will wait. So mind you we are outside in front of the building, they have no chairs for people to sit and wait so we were standing there along with another couple just gazing at the people sitting outside enjoying their delicious crabs. The host did Express while telling me the wait time that they had a large party of 25 that had just been seated, they were outside in view too...so fast forward about 45 minutes a lot have gone on..the host has offer people to wait at the bar inside until there table is ready...so while standing outside small families and couples are emerging from a side door of the restaurant inquiry about how much longer the wait will be, the host had a clip board that she was flipping the papers on looking for names of ppl, and ironic enough, the Host would be like oh a table just freed up and she would seat them....this happen like 3 times. So the other two couples that were waiting started looking like what is going on. That group of 25 had been sitting and chatting for the last 45 minutes but guess what they didn't get served yet because the registers went down, so they couldn't take orders, I was confused because the registers hadn't gone down until they were at lease 25 minutes in so I'm not understanding why their orders weren't in yet....i know all of these little details because I was standing there with nothing else to do but watch everyone else that's sitting in front of me...and counting every Minute because I have a bad ankle. I Go inside the place is very small...they have a one bathroom stall. How can a place that's obviously getting a lot of business be ran so unorganized.....back outside she tells one of the couples waiting that a table is free and he is next....guess what happens? Someone with an reservation walked up and she seated them...he is upset and starts complaining...at that point I realized it had been a long enough wait and people that are there haven't even been served and it was no telling when we were going to be seated giving it was going on 7:45p.m and the registers were still down...so we left....I gave it three stars because the quality of the crabs smelled and looked good other than that it's a no go. read more

Called at 5PM on Saturday and "Christina" on the phone said - very UNapologetically - "we aren't doing takeout orders at the moment." We asked "how long is the moment?" She responded "We're packed. We aren't doing takeout orders at the moment." We respond, "Well, can we come in and place the order in person and wait for it like everyone else there?" Christina's response "You are more than welcome to try." How about that for being informative, encouraging and welcoming to a potential customer? You just lost this potential customer. This place has DELICIOUS crabs!!! Come hungry! You can do the all you can eat crabs or order the crab legs or other portion sizes. If you don't eat seafood don't come here... the other items on the menus aren't that great. But the crabs are delivered daily so they are super fresh, melt in your mouth amazing and filling! I live in the neighborhood and frequent this place. It's super popular! The service is actually pretty terrible (slow, inattentive waitresses are typical) but the taste and quality of the food make up for the crappy service. I highly recommend that you make a reservation way in advance (especially on weekends). This place is also fun for watching sports and grabbing a cheap beer in the off season. The blue crabs here are the best by far in VA! Seasoned perfectly, great variety of sizes & fresh!! The crab legs are also great & my husband loves the mashed potatoes (odd I know but they have REAL potatoes). I like the hush puppies but my husband does not because there are onions in them, which doesn't bother me...but if you don't like onions you'll be unpleasantly surprised because it's not normal to have onions in hush puppies. The only headache is you absolutely have to make a reservation or you 9/10 won't be able to dine because they're just that popular! I really wish they would expand the building, but it is it what it is and we deal with the cramped space because we're truly addicted. My husband had the crab cakes, I had the lobster tail, and we split it so we could both have a bit of each. Those crab cakes tho.....no breading, no fillers, just crab meat and mayo, and they were sooo good. The lobster tail was soft, juicy, and sweet (in the way a lobster should taste). First they said they had no tables when I called, then I get there to pick up our take out and there are loads of open tables. I ask for one of the tables and they said I'd have to work out the tip with my server, because I already paid for the take out. I end up having to order more items, pay tip for the take out (already paid for) and the additional items I ordered. Food is fine, but the ambience,... is a can of spam with Jersey Shore on full blast. The tables are so close together you get your pick and hear middle aged women complain about their rash from Cabo or a table of drunk testosterone fabricating sex stories. Went there on a recommendation. Crabs were on point and the main reason we went. Very small space and service was not great. I am guessing they were short staff or had some call outs. Our waiter was doubling as bartender so we waited a little longer than expected for our food. We were seated pretty quickly at an inside table. It was extremely small for our orders so it was a little uncomfortable to maneuver our meals. We were near the bar so lots of traffic. My frenchfries were not fresh and by salad was a little sad. We were served water in plastic cups and I noticed everyone else had tall water glasses. Prices were ok. I have found them cheaper in Baltimore though. The 4stars are strictly for the crabs. Honestly? It was super underwhelming. The shrimp tasted super fishy, tough and didn't really have much seasoning. The hush puppies were rock hard and room temperature. My margarita wasn't blended well and was impossible to drink from a straw and lastly, my sauce had a hair in it. Great, no-frills place for crabs. One star off for service. Don't effin yell at me for flagging down ANY available server for basics like water or more BEER! Be more present for our huge table of 14 and maybe you would be less defensive and therefore not so dickish when we ask for things we need. Again, another good find off the beaten path. Great relaxed atmosphere where you eat straight off the table. So if you are into linen tablecloths and candlelight this is not the place for you. The crabs are a must, but call ahead and reserve your crabs (they take 30 minutes to steam). They were really good, but a lot of work! The Alaskan king crab legs were nothing short of heaven. Since we were a group of 5, we ordered a variety so that we could taste a little bit of everything. I highly suggest ordering this way if you are in a large group. They also have a great selection of beer. With the good must come a few disappointments. The service left a lot to be desired. We had to move tables 3 times, and yes we had reservations. We never really found our real server, so we had to flag down someone every time we needed something, even utensils. It took over 30 minutes just to order a beer... Now that makes me ill. Being a group of 5, the tip was automatically added to our bill. Somewhat unfair in my opinion considering the service was so poor. Overall the food made up for the lacking service, so I will suggest giving this staple in DC a try if you are in the area. I rate the food 5 stars, the service, a marginal 2. read more

I love this place. If you know you want to come here in the winter, make reservation or else you will be sitting out in the cold. Brrrrrr! The service is ok, nothing spectacular, but you aren't coming here for the service. The crabs are amazing! We usually get jumbo, or if they don't have jumbo we get whatever size is available. However if you're willing to forego the local pass and review and gamble with limited amount of seating, slide over and give this place a try! We took a shot on a Friday night minus reservations and agreed to a "cool" outdoor option verses the 2 hour wait being offered by the hostess to seat in first class!
