Steak, potatoes and Caesar meal deal

I went to Hen Quarter to celebrate my birthday. They staff were welcoming (Kiki and our server B was great!) I loved their weekly deals and they tasted amazing. Would definitely recommend the steak and old bay wings!

One of the only restaurants in this particular area so we visited for happy hour. Very nicely decorated inside and it seems quite spacious- I need to come back for their brunch. I got the smash burger which came out at the wrong temp at first but was quickly remedied. I cannot remember what I had to drink but it was delicious. A pricier happy hour. The waiter was very pleasant.

I'd only been to Hen Quarter in Old Town for brunch, so I wasn't sure what to expect here but this location did not disappoint. A few friends and I came for happy hour on a Thursday and were pleasantly surprised to find a bottomless snow crab legs + cocktails deal for $69. Absolute steal. Pro tip: come hungry, because they keep the crabs coming out hot and fresh. Our waiter was friendly and efficient, making sure everything flowed smoothly. We added a few sides: cornbread, fries, mushrooms, and collards... all solid. The drink options were great, too: beer, mimosas, sangria, house champagne, and even a Jim Beam Old Fashioned, which you could mix and match throughout the night. The space itself is huge, which makes it great for groups. The only downside is parking if there's a Nats game (like the night we went), be prepared for limited or pricey options. Bonus: they had live music, and when I say the band and lead singer put on a show, they had the whole place moving. By the time we left at 9:30, people were up dancing and singing along. The lead singer was giving birthday shoutouts to those celebrating. All around, a fun night and definitely worth it.

Came to celebrate for a friend's birthday. We booked a private room and our server Regina was great. The room was very nicely decorated and well light, only thing I would wish is that we could play our own music due to the restaurant music jumping around. The brunch is buffet style and anything they do not serve on the buffet, you order by telling your server. One downside for me was that the buffet is not off to the side instead it is in the middle of the dining room, so you have to walk past peoples chairs and try not to bump them walking to and from the buffet.

Dined at this restaurant while visiting D.C. Unfortunately, I totally forgot to take a picture of the food. We ordered the deviled eggs appetizer which were good. I was craving pasta so I ordered the Seafood Cajun Diavalo. Unfortunately, the pasta was underwhelming. It came out pretty watered down and tasteless. They took it back and returned with pasta that wasn't as watery but still lacked flavor. My friend ordered the Shrimp & Grits and she devoured the dish. No complaints there. Service was great from start to finish. I would have given more than three stars if the pasta had been prepared properly.

Two words: Hidden Gem. Located off the beaten path, this place is flooded with charm and class. A cozy fireplace in the dining room really creates a cozy feeling. The food menu includes all of your southern staples. The blackened catfish and grits were excellent. I'm looking forward to come back and exploring the rest of the menu.

Ok I went here to check out the Wednesday wing and whiskey special. This place was so pretty and clean. The staff were friendly, informative and attentive. They have a really good menu. With this Wednesday special it is a 2 hour limited and you can't take anything home, which was no problem because the staff is attentive, so the wings and drinks were flowing. My friend order the Brussels sprouts, something i normally don't eat but she said try them and they were really good. The cornbread tasted amazing. Wings so good i definitely will be back. I was also amazed with the portions, way more than I expected. Well worth the drive.

Food was amazing, the service was great, and the ambiance was US, chill calm and collected. We had the best experience even though the lemon pepper was a little too overpowering, they made it right no questions. The food the food was absolutely delicious! I had the steak my wife had the famous chicken both were delicious. The Mac and cheese, perfect. All in all it was the most great experience . Ayanna our server was very helpful and attentive when we first arrived. Get the bottomless drinks it's so worth it. We will definitely be back!

We kicked off the New Year at this restaurant's New Year's Eve event, and what a start it was! It was bustling, and we did experience a notable wait for both seating (even with a reservation) and initial service--about 45+ minutes before a server greeted our table. However, we totally understood given the busy night but I still feel it was unacceptable. Our server was incredibly sweet and friendly, doing her best to make up for lost time. The restaurant was bustling with people and even had a live band and performance going on during the night which made for a very nice atmosphere. I jumped on their New Year's all-you-can-drink whiskey special. It was a great promotion, and the whiskey itself wasn't bad at all. For starters, we had the Fried Green Tomatoes. They were perfectly crispy with just the right amount of tang. While I prefer a thicker cut, these were still very good. The cornbread is a favorite of mine, came out piping hot and buttery. Our main courses were equally satisfying. The Catfish and Grits featured perfectly crispy, well-seasoned catfish and wonderfully creamy grits. The portion was fair for the price, though we could have used a bit more of that delicious crawfish sauce. We also tried the Steak Frites, with the steak cooked to a perfect medium as requested, and the chimichurri sauce was absolutely delicious. Everything was seasoned well; no complaints there! Overall, the slow service got us off to a bad start but by the end of the night things got better and made for a memorable experience, and I'm looking forward to returning.

The real menu! We got swindled! Smh

Dacha is a semi-outdoor beer garden across from Nat's Park and a short walk from Audi Field, making it the perfect storm to collect a massive crowd before a game. We arrived shortly before happy hour ended, about two hours before a Friday night Spirit game and were able to get a table. Dacha did fill up quickly, but with plenty of seating and an open section with standing tables in the center, there was still room to move around. With the glass walls surrounding us, we felt like we were in a garden. The noise level, while high, was not as bad as Solace, and we were still actually able to hear each other. Our server did not check on us as time went by, but she did bring us waters as soon as we were seated, which really exceeds my expectations for a beer garden. Our food and drinks arrived quickly and were super tasty. Both the flagship lager and IPA were drinks I'd order again, and as a vinho verde admirer, I appreciated having that as an option on the HH menu. While the skinny burger is delicious, the real star of the HH menu is the fried pickles, homemade and flavorful and piping hot. I'm eager to go back for another pregame and try the HH cocktail, perhaps sampling something from the regular menu as well.

Trouble Bird was the answer to my prayers on a recent trip, where I was looking to have high quality drinks and a laid-back NON-commercial vibe with my team. We liked it so much, we came twice in one week, and I was impressed at their ability to handle and be comfortable for a large group in a space that can feel intimate. The lighting is nice and moody, the menu available via QR code, and the WiFi free and listed with password for patrons to use. We had excellent service both times, by the two folks working each night for a groups of 6-8 each time. There was something for everyone from the nondrinkers to the beer enthusiasts, to cocktail aficionados like myself. There's an amazing happy hour deal, with discounts on drinks all Monday and reduced prices for a couple of hours on other weekdays; it almost felt criminal how generous the happy hour was when I've gotten used to paying $20 for a mediocre cocktail at other nearby establishments. And the cocktails here are really very good, probably the best in the area, except for their immediate next door neighbor. The group favorite cocktail was the Midori sour which was incredibly well balanced and refreshing, and the surprising crowd pleaser was the Hamilton Dry Float, which came in a creepy tiki mug presentation that we really loved. We had a couple of the bar bites - the spiced peanuts were well loved across the group but my person favorite food item was the blistered shishitos, which came with a great chipotle aioli. The bathrooms are extremely clean and overall this was a bar favorite for the group for our week of going out and socializing together. We were immediately given two glasses of water while we looked over the menu. While looking over the menu and deciding what we wanted, we noticed that there were numerous people coming to stand beside and around us to order drinks and food. We also noticed that the bartenders at the bar were also serving the tables that were behind us as well. We were surprised to see that there were not waiters serving those tables. Because of this, you had people who were sitting at the tables behind us getting up and coming to the bar to order food and drinks, as well as people in general, walking up to the bar to order food and drinks. This made things very chaotic. As me and my wife were attempting to place our order, the bartenders continued to prioritize people who were coming to the bar after us. This went on for about 10 minutes. I then went to the hostess on the first floor and asked him if we could go upstairs. He said that we could go upstairs no problem, but it would be a similar situation to ordering like it was downstairs. I asked him will we be able to get a table upstairs and have a waiter instead of attempting to order food and drinks at the bar like we are doing downstairs? He told me that if we were to go upstairs we would still have to order our food and drinks at the bar. After waiting for about another five minutes and continuing to be ignored at the bar, I decided that I had enough and told my wife that we were leaving. This is a horrible concept! Having bartenders serve people at the bar is one thing. But, to also have those same bartenders serving numerous tables as well, to the point where the people who are at the tables have to come up to the bar and place their food and drink order, is madness. Especially when the bar and the whole downstairs level is packed before a Nationals game. This is very inefficient and leads to a horrible customer experience. Also, if this is going to be the concept that you go with, you will need more than just two bartenders to be able to handle that amount of traffic.
