I'll just say it... best dinner in Dallas. There, I said it. Chef's from New Zealand, so the menu is eclectic in a way that actually works. Neutral-chic vibes, calm but cool. This place is begging to be a tapas spot and we basically treated it as one. Ceviche, Octopus, Smoked salmon - Actually witchcraft - the best salmon I've ever had. Did you hear me? Do you have any idea how much salmon I've eaten? #stlouispescatarianapproved Keep going... Leafy green salad, ricotta tomato spread! Everything devoured, nothing spared. Service was flawless. I would evangelize for this place. And the lolly bag. Warm my heart.

There are truly no words for how unique and special this place is. The atmosphere is vibrant with beautiful New Zealand influences, and the food is unlike anything I've had before. We've ordered the chef's tasting for special occasions and I would highly recommend. It was an incredible experience. Every course felt intentional and thoughtfully prepared. If you're only ordering one thing, get the salmon. It's the most buttery, perfectly cooked salmon I've ever had. The only downside is that the portion sizes are on the smaller side. My advice? Skip the drinks and order two entrées instead. It's absolutely worth it. Coming here feels like such a treat.

Walking in I had pretty high hopes and wasn't so familiar with New Zealand-inspired cuisine. Staff was pretty friendly and the space itself is really cool. I particularly like the layout of the tables. However, ultimately the food didn't really live up to my hopes. We opted not to do the tasting menu, but did end up spending a fair amount of money as most of the dishes are fairly pricey. Everyone around us was doing the tasting. Started with the fry bread, which was pretty underwhelming. I felt like it would be a bit cheesier but really just tasted like a hot pastry. The tartare was pretty salty, which I wouldn't have minded if we had been given crackers to eat it with but this only happens if you do the tasting menu (which I found very strange?). The mushroom dish was our favorite, as the egg soaked the mushrooms beneath really nicely without being overwhelming. The two mains we got were the sea bass, which I didn't really care for in terms of the flavoring (did enjoy the vegetable, though) and the grilled wagyu cheek. The latter came with ssamjang, which I thought was interesting. And the meat was fine, but wagyu will always be at least fine. We also got the Caesar salad which we really didn't need but was also weirdly difficult to eat physically. It's apparent that a lot of care and thought went into the menu and everything really was inspired, which we can certainly appreciate.

I had the chef tasting menu at Quarter Acre. We started off with fresh sourdough bread and butter. The bread was a little burnt but it tasted delicious. Next, we had small bites which included sardines on skewers. We had a steak tartare with applewood smoke. It was smoky and flavorful. Next, we had the lobster, which was portioned quite small, but the accompanying sauces paired well with it. I wasn't a fan of the eggplant the dish fell flat. I didn't finish this course. The salmon was excellent. It was very tender. The lamb was cooked to perfection. I wish there was more! Finally, we substituted the pavlova for the cheesecake, which was the perfect combination of tart and sweet. I would return to this restaurant. The service was excellent. However, the some of the courses took 20-30 minutes to come out.

Quarter Acre - A Promising Concept Let Down by Service and Execution Rating: 2 out of 5 stars Quarter Acre in Dallas presents an intriguing concept: a Kiwi-inspired tasting menu rooted in the chef's New Zealand heritage and delivered with French culinary technique. Unfortunately, the execution--particularly in terms of service and pacing--left a lot to be desired. The evening began with a rushed introduction from our waiter, who repeated himself multiple times and asked twice if we'd been there before. While he introduced himself three times, his attention quickly shifted to a nearby table that was clearly the priority. That imbalance in service would continue throughout the night. We started with a slice of house-made sourdough, made from the chef's nine-year-old starter. Hearty and deeply toasted, it was a strong beginning. This was followed by bright, citrusy oysters and a well-fried arancini ball--both enjoyable. However, our wine pairing was forgotten. When I reminded the waiter, he responded with, "You do know it's $55 extra?" The tone suggested we might not be able to afford it, which felt presumptuous and inappropriate. He also stated that because we ordered cocktails he wouldn't think we would have ordered the wine pairing which was a poor excuse for his inattentive service. The cold green pea soup that followed was fresh but flat. The tomato tart, paired with red wine, had promise, but the ricotta overwhelmed the dish and it lacked salt and acidity. A persistent fly at our table made it difficult to focus on the meal, and staff made no attempt to address it. The pasta course, with asparagus, was a standout--perfectly cooked, well-balanced, and nicely paired with a white wine. The salmon, flown in from southern New Zealand, was high quality but uninspired, coated in a sweet glaze and served with a garnish of radish and greens that added little. The duck dish aimed for a deconstructed duck à l'orange, with sweet potato purée, crispy chips, and an orange salad. Interesting concept, but it didn't quite come together. Dessert was hit or miss. The strawberry mousse profiterole with chocolate sauce was tasty but unremarkable. The sticky date toffee with cardamom ice cream didn't work for me, though my dining companion enjoyed it. One bright spot was the sommelier--knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly a Lord of the Rings enthusiast. I didn't always agree with the pairings, but he brought genuine personality and warmth to the experience. The biggest issue was the service. Long gaps between courses, inattentiveness, and overt favoritism soured what should have been a premium evening. When I remarked to our waiter that it was obvious someone more important was receiving all the attention, he assured us he serves all the guests equally. This was clearly not the case. At $594 after tip, the experience fell well short of expectations. While there were moments of culinary merit, they were overshadowed by the uneven service and lack of attentiveness on behalf of our dedicated waiter. With that said, the rest of the staff did perform well. That said, I'm not completely closing the door. I believe Quarter Acre has potential--especially with a more engaged front-of-house and tighter pacing between courses. If those improvements are made, I'd be open to giving it another shot. But as it stands today, I can't recommend it. 2 out of 5 stars.

Breezy Sophisticated Atmosphere. Cheerful Impeccable Service. Intoxicating Creative Seasonal Menu. Savoring Chef Toby Archibald's Summer of '24 Delights of "Crab Eclair"; "Hot-Smoked Glory Bay Salmon"; and, "Campfire S'mores". I Love It Here! CHEERS!

We stopped in for Garden Hour last night due to the unseasonably good weather and had a lovely time. Their "Garden Hour" (aka Happy Hour) menu is amazing with $7 cocktails and an amazing array of appetizers. I highly recommend the Bee's Knees, a classic drink that they executed perfectly. The beef tartar, served smoked with umami sauces, was to die for and the snack board tasted as good as it looked. Our friends also ordered the mushroom appetizer and it was delicious. The service was outstanding, striking the difficult balance of fine dining (even for happy hour) and approachable. They were flexible as we walked in last minute and the meal was full of fun surprises like fresh bread and complimentary desserts. We look forward to returning for dinner.

I believe Quarter Acre is a pretty new restaurant. However, the staff and chef don't act like newbies and were on top of their game the whole night! We went on a Tuesday night and it was not crowded at all. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable and helped us pick out a wide variety of food. Our food was incredible. The pork belly was delicious. I ordered another after my entree because it was so good. The pasta was a little too smoky for me but tasted good nonetheless. The lamb was amazing and my friend said his steak was possibly the best he's had. I gave my girlfriend some of my pasta to try and she ate almost all of it! The dessert was good as well! The sourdough ice cream is interesting and the s'mores cake is wonderful. I would come back here again!

I wish I could give this place 100 stars. Definitely exceed ALL of my expectations and more. The staff was the friendliest I've ever experienced and it was very clear they worked together as a team. The food was divine. The bread and homemade butter was a delightful start and then we got the fry bread bites which were a mix between fried goat cheese balls and a beignet.. AMAZING, we ordered more for dessert. We got the sea bass which was light and not too fishy, and it was cooked to perfection, flaky and flavorful. The truffle pasta special which was our favorite, not overpowered on truffle at all, crunchy, creamy and just perfect. It should definitely be a staple on their menu. At they end they have us these dessert treats which were out of this world. A mint marshmallow that melted in your mouth, and melted is an understatement! They also gave this crunchy gingerbread cracker/cookie that was so tasty. The interior is classy but doesn't feel like it's trying too hard and the restaurant isn't too loud at all. This was one of the best meals I've ever had and I can now see why they were mentioned by Michelin!

Loved this Lower Greenville Gem. Chef-owned restaurant serving New Zealand food with French technique. Every dish was artistic, intentional, and delicious. Highly recommend to all looking for unique flavors and a creative culinary experience Snacks - beet tartlet, fish on chip, and fry bread (goat cheese and honey combo never fails). Would get all 3 again Appetizers - mushrooms were pretty solid but the crab eclair was a let down Entrees - got the truffle parmesan linguini which was the special of the night and decadent (but too small of a portion). The sea bass was flaky and tender and all the components of the dish were independently flavorful (especially loved the beans and mango pieces). Dessert - sticky date pudding was very rich and the sweetness was cut by the cardamom ice cream. The best part were the "lolly bag" desserts that we got on the house - both were delicious Next time would try the mussels and cauliflower agnolotti. Ambience and service were top notch! Could not have asked for better in this regard

You know how sometimes you'll go to a nice place and the hostesses are catty, rude and have close to zero manners? That won't happen here! Even with their high class service, the bartenders expertise in all types of spirits, and the craftsmanship of each and every cocktail + plate. Anna was the hostess during the time i went who took my number down to add me to the wait list. She was soft spoken (welcoming with just that) and not to mention, GORGEOUS. S/o as well to Tanner for always being so accommodating and making every visit a 10/10 as well as the bartenders/cocktail peeps. if you guys are ever looking for a drink with a side of fabulous caviar, come here. enjoy the scene, the decor, and the whimsical vibes this place provides

The hotel property is like four legs under the table - a great location, a great hotel experience, a great restaurant experience, and a entertainment experience (The Mansion Bar). At least one leg has been kicked out, one is suffering. The Mansion Bar used to have a great recipe for success - proven by how busy and regular the customers were and loyal (or was), and the top tier talent that was routine for 10+ years. Me and my friends have a relationship with the long time staff as customers as well as the excellent music talent. The cause? Not precisely sure but I think it's new ownership, at the very least a new Food & Bev manager. I also know the staff is very upset about these changes and the relationships with the repeat music talent is now a mess. I wouldn't be surprise if the staff start leaving. I'm hoping whomever is making these decisions can revert back to what was working. Dallas has a lot of great venues that will fill this void.
