This was my go to Chinese junk food in one South shore but no longer. Loved their food but can't get over the rudeness today! Will kid be returning and telling all my SS friends. On 5/15 I ordered a couple of combos for dinner on door dash. The chick at the front desk was rude as hell. She asked me for the DoorDash screen which I showed her and she said I don't understand. Hello! It's not my fault you can't read! And the she proceeds to say what's your name and I told her and she still acts like she doesn't get it! Yeah I took her picture so I can post it on her! I've ordered from there a few times over the years with mixed results. The latest order was pretty bad. The house fried rice looked like white rice, lacking flavor. The spring rolls looked and tasted like they came out of a frozen box from the supermarket. They were mush inside and really thin, like maybe 3/4" and crazy uniform in size/shape. The chicken teriyaki was dried out. The fried shrimp from the pu pu platter were all batter. Barely two bites of actual shrimp. There was so much batter they looked more like biscuits than fried shrimp. And part of the order was missing. I know that can happen to any delivery service, but it just added to this last experience. read more

I have been there twice for takeout. The food was good and fresh, however, if you order "bone in spare ribs" don't expect the ribs to be individually cut. Twice they gave me the entire rack soaked in the red sauce. It's ok if you want to go home and cut them all up, but if you are planning to eat in the car, good luck. You'd be a mess. Also, I had ordered small orders and received and paid for large I'm pretty sure. This isn't a complaint, but just an FYI. I ended up not eating the ribs and gave them away the next day. I wished I had looked at the reviews before I made the order to this wasteful food experience and hard-earned money. I had ordered General Gao Chicken Lunch. It was a disappointment. I had expected full-on flavorful sauce with a caramelized tone and real crispy chicken. BUT no... it was just a failed version of a battered chicken finger with a light-shaded bland sauce poured over. And on top of that, the fried rice is awful. It was dry as well bland with no depth of an appetizing fragrant. I would not recommend ordering and fried rice or chicken dishes. They were both so bad I threw them away. they had cabbage inside of crab rangoon which is just filler and ruined it the entire taste . This joint seems to be hit or miss at best! I walked in a few nights ago and the aroma of lemony cleaning chemicals was almost unbearable, this made me nervous as it makes me think of what thy had to clean up to use that concentration.... I had ordered food for pickup on the phone, was told 10 minutes and it was ready in 15 mins (perfectly fine). A pu pu platter, ravioli, and lo mein which all were varying degrees of warmth as if one was sitting around waiting for the other to finish. The taste is good but not great and the price isn't that great, all that came to $40 ish. My wife and I have lived in Weymouth for 28 years and for about 20 of those years we have been loyal customers, until now that is. My wife and I ordered the following items from the Weymouth location last night. Pork fried rice, chicken lo mein, chicken fingers and beef teriyaki. Awful, the worst meal that we have ordered from them. The rice tasted awful, no flavor to it at all. The chicken fingers were tiny, definitely much smaller than the last time we had them and they tasted terrible! Same for the beef teriyaki, it shrunk as well and it did not taste good. And to finish it off, the chicken lo mein had way too many vegetables and noodles and hardly any chicken in it. We are very disappointed in Quans Kitchen and I don't think we will be ordering from them in the future. What happened, why are the chicken fingers and beef teriyaki so much smaller now??? I always order take out here. The rice is yummy, but I can tell that they mix the fried rice with the boiled rice. The spring rolls are really good and the orange sauce they give you with it is to die for! I'm so in love with that stuff and I wish I had the recipe. I'm sort of confused why NO chinese takeout place in Massachusetts offers free rice. I mean, rice is pretty cheap and every other place in the Universe (or at least North America) seems to provide rice free, so it makes me wonder if there's some kind of Massachusetts Chinese Food Teamsters Union that has decided that all restaurants have to charge for rice. The short story behind this debacle is that we ordered a boatload of food but didn't get rice with it and were pretty irritated that it wasn't included. Luckily, the food was pretty yummy and the quality was rather good so we were placated once we ate. But there was that 10 minutes of confusion over where the rice was and the debate over whether to call to get some sent over that forces me to subtract a star. True, I love peking ravioli so much that I'm not entirely sure I'd notice if it was covered in sewage. Quan's peking ravioli was really really delicious though- so much so that I have indeed ordered it again (taking care to specifically add RICE to the order). And Quan's delivers which is a huge bonus since there aren't too many options for delivery around these parts. That in and of itself is reason enough to continue to patronize this place. They've yet to mess up an order (Gourmet Oriental can't get their shit together and blows it every third time- and no, the free rangoon doesn't make up for that). All in all, rice or no rice, it's a great delivery (or takeout, I guess) place and one well worth your time. read more

I was really expecting better from this Quan's Kitchen takeout only outpost, as I've frequently ordered from the larger Hanover location. What a letdown this was! The food really should have been better since it is Quan's Kitchen, normally a solid selection. We ordered a mix of Japanese & Chinese - sushi and appetizers. The sushi chirashi selection was a nice enough mix of the ubiquitous salmon, tuna, whitefish, sliced thin but not too thin, on the long diag so it covered a fair amount of rice. The off-putting part was the furokake rice seasoning that was kind of splotched in the middle of the rice, starting to run into the rice and leaving most of the rice unseasoned. There wasn't any ebi or any "crab" in the dish which are both fairly typical inclusions on a chirashi plate and for $20.95, I would expect a really good combination as this is priced on the higher end. Additional sushi of saba, hamachi and an oddly smoked salmon rounded out the Japanese side of the order, all again priced to the higher end at $5.25- $6.25 for two pieces of sushi each. Usually a small order of rice & small boneless spareribs is enough for two people to split, but the small order of boneless spareribs ($6.25) is really small! less than a half pint and not a tightly packed one either. Definitely only enough for one person, and again, priced on the high end for the area. The half pint pork fried rice was the defining blow here, as the only pork in the dish was a half dozen cubes dropped on the top. Nothing in the dish - not one trace of pork at all, just soy sauced rice. Very unpleasant as it reminded me of the cheap Chinese lunch specials I used to get for lunch with co-workers years ago, where the "pork fried rice" on the plate has no real connection to anything pork-related! Maybe they were having an off night, but this is a miss for me; I'll go to Quan's in Hanover if I find myself in the area, but I won't go back to this Weymouth location - too expensive and not the best quality. read more

They were nice, both over the phone and upon delivery. The food was typical Chinese delivery -- good, not great. My sons and I each had appetizer-combo plates, so greatness wasn't expected. I went here after my work had an event catered by them. The food at the work event was very good, but I was a bit disappointed when I went into the place. First of all the place is spotless. It has to be the cleanest looking take out place I have ever seen. The problem being is that it is take out only so I had to drive there and take the food back to my house. I asked the girl what she suggested from the menu that was healthy. I got the Szechuan Style Bean Curd.... it really didn't have a pleasant taste at all and I was reliving it by burping for the next day. I also got sushi as I love sushi and it seemed like they gave me sushi that was pre-prepared. They also didn't offered brown rice. My roommate also ordered from here before and they gave him some wrong food in his order. In my honest opinion if I compare them apples to apples with other take out Chinese places they should get more stars... but I am not because there are two strikes against them. I work in Weymouth Landing, which is just a hop skip & and jump to Quans. First off- we order here WEEKLY! The sushi is decent, and priced right. For take out sushi you can't beat the price or the taste. I rarely order anything different than two orders of sushi, but I might vary to some noodles or chicken fingers. I don't order crab Rangoon to get some kind of a sea food kick. I want my Rangoon to be cheesy and delicious. This rangoon was crab city. I'm not a picky eater and I typically eat everything on my plate even if I don't care for it, but I literally didn't finish it. It was straight brown town. Quan's was recommend by a friend and I truly thank her for the tip. I have been living in Weymouth for a couple of years and had decided that there was no good Chinese food in the town and then came Quan's. The food is always fresh and delicious. After my first visit they remembered me and was able to tell me what I ordered the last time. I usually eat Chinese with a group and we order a lot so that is helpful. I love vegetables and am often disappointed by what some places pass off as mixed vegetables. Quan's has the best crispy veggies. I recommend the Chicken fried rice, crab rangoons, chicken wings, Peking raviolis, egg rolls...well really just about everything is great. Also I really enjoy the bread they give with every meal. The portions are awsome, the place is adorable decorated nicely with a fish tank and television if you are waiting. Only drawback is it is take out only, but they are the best take out ever. We had just recently moved to the area and didn't know where to get Chinese take out. I went with Quan's since it had decent reviews and is close to my home. We picked up the food and did not realize it was the wrong order until we got home. My boyfriend called them immediately and brought the erroneous order back with us untouched. They were waiting for us with the correct order and gave us the other order as well. The food was delicious and we have plenty of left overs for lunch tomorrow ;). Although the order was initially was wrong they rectified the problem without an issue. Best beef teriyaki I have ever sunk tooth in to! We go here every year for xmas eve and get a ton of take-out. Everything was on point. Highlights were the quan's steak, the Mongolian beef, the 4 happiness dish, the cashew chicken, and the beef teriyaki. Everyone was very happy. We got some sushi and shashimi to start which was also solid, fresh sushi. Their apps were pretty good for Chinese places - crab rangoon, chicken fingers, pork strips were pretty standard. I would definitely recommend my friends eat here if they're looking for Chinese food. read more
