Fried rice, udon noodles, spring roll
    Jessica B.

YUM. I can't believe it took me so long to try this place that is so close to my house. This will likely be our new go-to place for Asian cuisine... My husband and I ordered takeout: sushi, spring rolls, udon noodles and rice. The menu is large with plenty of variety. Sushi was delicious. We both didn't care for the spring rolls but the noodles were my favorite; I ate them all and wanted more! My husband complained about the orange duck sauce as he prefers the brown kind. I would come back for the noodles alone, they were that good! I hear they have wild karaoke nights on certain days if you dine in. We will definitely be back :)

Spicy tuna roll, snow mountain roll

Snow mountain roll is to die for! Drinks are good and strong. Fun little place. Only complaint is the service is a little slow.

I recently wrote a review for the 'Hot & New' Omori in Quincy. While I am not a detractor of Omori,…read morethe experience there left something to be desired. This is due to some creative decisions I disagree with and, at times, very little eel. Meanwhile, Sake Japanese Restaurant hits just the right spot! The creative decisions were excellent, with everything coming together splendidly. The fish was fresh and in more than generous amounts. This, in turn, makes the cost of about $20 per roll seem reasonable and makes it much easier to stomach (I didn't intend the pun, but I will own it). Regarding the Holiday and the Kevin Page, these maki rolls are similar. Both shine with the white fish on top and generous amounts of tuna (and salmon in the Holiday's case) within. The eel and cucumber add a pleasant new dimension to the pieces. I'd say these two are like identical twins adopted by different families. Each will have some unique personality and flair, but at the core, they are one. The crazy tuna brought something different to the table. While I am generally not a fan of the chopped-up style of fish, here it just works, and I didn't mind it. If I were to guess, this is because many places have more tempura than fish and add too much spicy mayo. Despite the style, the tuna was still able to shine through. For the inside, I enjoyed the crunch and freshness of the cumber with the sweetness and savory notes from the eel. Finally, the service was polite and speedy, though it wasn't bustling. Thus, not only would I happily return to Sake, but I would love to order the same three rolls again, for they were *that* good.

While my order was in route, the restaurant called and informed me that my driver forgot the hot items. Before I could even feel an ounce of disappointment and without prompt I was asked for my address as well as phone number and their delivery guy brought my ramen! No extra charge, and when I tried to give him a tip, he politely declined. THAT is platinum level of customer service. And to top it off, the sushi was delicious...I cannot wait to heat up and try the ramen. Highly suggest, if I could give more stars I would!

Think florals, cozy-romantic vibes, and the kind of ambiance that makes you immediately open your camera roll. There are many aesthetically decorated spots for sprinkled throughout the restaurant. Mocktail for me and pretty ones for everyone else. The food? Straight-up delicious. Homemade pasta that tastes like someone's Italian nonna is quietly judging you from the kitchen (in a good way). Perfectly cooked steaks, fresh seafood...classic Italian steakhouse energy done right, no notes. Shoutout to the staff who were genuinely awesome: welcoming, fun, and made our birthday celebration feel special without being over-the-top. This was our first time back to GG in a couple of years - yikes! And not gonna lie, it was…read moredisappointing. We had takeout, which was packed carefully and packaged as neatly as ever - the hot items in one bag, the cold items in another bag -to make it home in a reasonable time. Where things went wrong: Chicken Teriyaki skewers had zero teriyaki glaze and instead were coated - WELL COATED - in a non-removeable green curry covering. There was absolutely no connection between these skewers and teriyaki. None of us cares for curry, so that was trashed since the cat sat back and said "absolutely not!" Pad Thai with the Chicken and Shrimp option had two (2) medium shrimp, so I guess that counts as multiple shrimp . . . the chicken was dry but at least it was plain, no curry. However, unlike the well coated curried skewers, there was virtually no Pad Thai sauce. The sauce that makes the bland rice noodles come to life was MIA. After much discussion and pulling the stuck together noodles apart, we did think that a very scant spoonful of sauce had been added to the very center of the container, making it a bit more Pad Thai-ish than the bare noodles in the other 2/3 of the takeout container. Pulled out the chicken bits and those two shrimp and trashed the rice noodles because I didn't even have a store-bought packet of Pad Thai sauce on hand to zhush it up! On the cold side, the go-to order of sushi Chirashi was good, fortunately because we were down two dishes out of three! Note to self: live and learn, keep to the Japanese side of the menu, and stop expecting a restaurant to do more than one style of cooking well, it never happens the way you hope it will!

It was really great. I am a white woman raised by white parents. In the 80s my dad went rogue into taekwondo for a black belt and immersed himself fully in the culture. He began making Szechuan food. I've eaten a lot of Chinese and Asian food and i don't usually go for it because there's so much bad and greasy. I prefer Japanese, usually, but when my dad started cooking Szechuan, we tried a wide variety of very authentic restaurants in Boston Chinatown, I know what I'm eating. This one hits the mark. We tried three things for range and shared. A beautiful rare black pepper and sesame seared tuna over salad, with super fresh fish, the level of pepper was on point. It was great. We had the pu pu platter for one which was a ton of food and delicious. The spare ribs were tender, the marinade on the chicken wings was so nice and the crab Rangoon were little fatties and fully stuffed with the perfect blend of crab and cream. We had the crazy chow fun (foon) with beef but without the spiciness so it was regular beef chow fun. Again the meat was tender and the wide noodles had the right amount of sauce. I had a scorpion bowl, it hit. I've seen some ugly reviews on here and honestly think two of the people whose last names start with S worked together on bashing this place, not cool Brian and Jen. Take out food will always be compromised by packing it, steam and travel. Don't judge food like that. This is the place for a fun first date, get a scorpion bowl for two. Get lit and share the Pu Pu platter to start. Check your compatibility on the old school Chinese zodiac placemat, love this. The ambiance is sultry red and dimly lit. People were definitely enjoying themselves. Gave me all the feels and memories of dark lounges, dens of iniquity, red lamps of my twenties. Ahhh...miss that time. I'm a hard sell. Gourmet garden is really good, and you should go. This is something I have should have enjoyed many times over by now.

After that, I ordered both a salmon combo and an eel combo, which comes with a maki roll and nigiri.
