Well our final hotel experience before we get to our final destination in Phoenix AZ..... So the question is...is it really QUALITY you ask? Well honestly it's not that bad at all.... We had 2 beds, HUGE room....very very clean.....Pet friendly as well.....we have a cat we are traveling with..... My only real complaint is the way the parking lot was designed is odd....in order to park you have to go all the way around to get to your room....and it's a one way....odd design.....although once you get there...it is kinda private....still a pain though..... Not sure we would stay here for a week or anything...But for a couple nights or a night is alright.......Decent place to if your traveling.... There are no windows on the outside of the hotel. If you'd like to keep an eye on your vehicle, that ain't happin'. It seriously looks like an old prison. The rooms were clean and not horrible. read more

So we made this reservation online for a 22nd anniversary we chose it based on the pictures and its location we were nervous because you know how online reservations can go. you just never know and we had never been there however when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised the office was clean and spacious the front desk lady was very nice and very helpful our room was a single King it was very clean it smelled lovely and plenty of room it was fairly up-to-date my favorite part about it was the patio we got a ground floor room and we had a sliding glass door that walked out onto a patio where there was a lovely set of chairs and table and the beautiful, beautiful view of their Forest property there were pine trees and squirrels and it was really just beautiful the next morning we had a great breakfast in their restaurant style continental breakfast the coffee was even great I would definitely do this again and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place at a place they've never been read more

Room was nice ... problem was I needed to leave and two cars parked in front of my Cargo Trailer late at night (someone should have told them where to park) that I parked in trailer parking hence the two cars parked where they weren't supposed to. Now making me at this point over an hour behind schedule. I called front desk twice no call back as of yet. My daughter and I stayed here at the Quality Inn in early June. We were welcomed by friendly staff. Our room was clean, spacious and cool when we walked in. There is a mini fridge, coffee maker, dinette, and a balcony with a patio set. The slider was covered with a double set of curtains. We had our choice of morning light with privacy (with the sheer curtain) or total darkness with the blackout curtain. The bathroom was spacious and clean, we had a full walk-in closet. The bed was comfortable with fresh linens and we both slept well. Our room had a view of the pool which was welcoming to be able to use. The jacuzzi was huge and just the right temperature. It had unique jets which massaged your neck just right. Sitting outside at the patio table or lounging in the chair you could feel the peace of being in the mountains looking at the pine trees. I was surprised in the morning that a small continental breakfast was still being served (most hotels don't do this anymore). I was thankful for being able to pour a hot, delicious cup of coffee which was served with yogurt and pastries. If you need more, keep in mind there is a Mavericks right next door and a very nice little Mexican restaurant directly across the street. If you are someone who is looking for a clean, friendly, comfy place to stay when you go to Payson, book your reservation with this high-quality "Quality Inn". What a wonderful experience! At check in they made sure we had a room where we could see our trailer with our Razr on it at all times from our room. The rooms are very spacious as are the bathrooms. I was happy to find kids channels on the tv for our littles as well. The breakfast this morning was really good (I recommend the biscuits and gravy) but nothing compares to the staff there. Everyone was so happy, kind and extremely helpful. It almost felt like we were staying at a B&B. I highly recommend this hotel if you ever need a place to stay in Payson. The positives first: Affordable ($60/night for state employees) and the room was freshly remodeled, updated paint and decor and was clean. The negative: half the reason I booked this hotel was because it had a spa. When I got there (after waiting all day for a nice soak) the clerk tells me "its closed until May, I don't really know why, its lame..." like, seriously?? I can understand if its down temporarily for maintenance (see my review for my previous nights hotel; the spa gods must feel the need to smite me *sigh*) but had I known that, and had I been able to avoid a cancellation fee I would have booked a room at one of the other several hotels on the street. Very aggravating! One should not have to call a hotel ahead of time to make sure their listed amenities are still available, and if they aren't, put it on your website!! Or offer me a discount. Why am I paying the sane rate if you don't have the full amenities? read more

We've been Choice Rewards members for more than a decade and have stayed here many times in the past. Those positive experiences seemed like distant memories compared to our 2 night stay on 8/23-8/25. The 1 person check-in staff seemed frazzled and frustrated by phones, the person she was checking in and the two of us in line waiting. Entering the room we noticed it was less equipped than in the past. No microwave and the small refrigerator was out of balance. To make it work we had to shim it up with on hand supplies. Maid service after night one was terrible. The bed cover was sloppily thrown up the headboard. The sheets were not straightened and the pillows were not placed - obviously tossed. Used plastic cups were not picked up, a used wash cloth was still on the floor in the bathroom, the tub was clearly not washed down or cleaned, and the coffee maker was not re-stocked; nor used cups replaced. The final 'straw' broke the camel's back when checking out. After mentioning the fridge and a general dissatisfaction with the maid service, the staff behind the counter simply said..."I'll let them know. Did you get breakfast?" We did get breakfast, and were grateful for it, but the lack of concern about our unhappiness sealed the decision to not return. Sad ending to a "favorite". read more

Best most comfortable place to stay, I wish all the hotels I stayed in were as nice! This place set a standard that was not met for the remainder of this trip, I'm sorry to say. This place is great. We walked in after driving over 8 hours, it was late, road conditions were pretty bad. It was raining, windy, icy roads with low visibility and all I wanted to do was rest. We walked into the lobby, Michelle was the receptionist and was very friendly. She put us in a very nice big comfy room with comfy clean beds, everything was clean. We rested, got back on the road refreshed. I would highly recommend staying here. read more

My husband and I have stayed here several times and had no issues. This weekend was his birthday and we decided to go to Payson as we consider it our happy place. Being older we are careful wherever we go. That being said I take sanitizer wipes to wipe down objects before we actually touch them as we walk in. Just a habit we have gotten into during these uncertain times. Pretty much ok until I cleaned off the vanity. There was a hard white chalky substance on the counter and while I was wiping that off found black makeup on the counter. Knowing it wasn't mine because we hadn't unpacked anything yet. In the bathroom the toilet paper holder was missing causing the toilet paper to be placed on the handicap rail. Only 2 towels, no wash cloths, soap or shampoo in the shower. The gout in several areas looked like there was either mold or hadn't been cleaned well. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. Although we did not complain to staff, I felt this was something that needed to be known. Everyone we have ever dealt with have been kind and extremely helpful, they are the reason for the 2 stars. Feel management just needs to check on their housecleaning staff to discuss some improvements on their duties. read more

I really like this hotel. Love the location and that it is pet friendly. Our first time was 5 stars. Our last visit there were a few problems. Main one was the sliding glass door did not work properly. The maintenance man came to look at it and said they would fix it after we left. Then the bathroom facet would leak whenever we turned water on. Maintenance man said they would replace after we left. My husband had a painful shoulder and it caused him more pain to open and close sliding glass door. We were disappointed that they did not offer to change rooms or credit any money to our account since things were not working We will be back but will be asking for our previous room. read more

Terrible everything!! We had a reservation but our room wasn't ready, so we left for dinner; an hour and forty-five minutes later it still wasn't ready!! The room was old and very small, the bed was like sleeping on the ground with rocks for pillows, I could heartbeat guests on either side of me talking on phones, TV sets and dogs barking whining. The bathroom was very small, you had to squeeze between toilet and vanity to close the door, Not up to the chain standards that's fir sure!!! read more

I wasn't sure whether to rate this 3 or 4. The cleanliness was a 4. Everything was nicely cleaned and although the property isn't new, it's all in good condition. The wi-fi is useless though, works only in some areas and never reliably (among my group we had three rooms and half a dozen devices, all had the same issues). Service at the desk is very friendly. Rooms had a very unwelcoming smell. Staff were rude. I got woken up by housecleaning banging on my door after I put up the do not disturb. I had to physically leave an air freshener because of the stench. I found pube hairs in the bed and sink. Saff dont clean the rooms properly air filter was clogged and floors were sticky. read more

Large, comfortable, clean room. Not quite the Ritz but it has everything you need for a good nights rest including a reasonable room rate and a very comfortable bed. Our room (# 118) even had a patio. If this is indicative of the quality of Quality Inn properties, I would have no problem staying here in the future. read more

Stayed here last night. Jake was awesome and I even got a military discount. The room was big and the bed was comfortable. The pillows definitely could have been a lot more comfortable. I woke up multiple times in the night trying to soften up the pillows. The continental breakfast had its good and bad. You could tell the sausage was microwaved. The cheese omelette was made of powdered eggs and what tasted like...cheesewiz? They have hot coffee and the makings for hot cocoa and oatmeal. The waffles were definitely the best thing there. The shower was also nice and spacious. They had many channels on the big screen TV as well. We got our own patio which was nice. For the person who said that this place has no windows and looks like a prison, I don't know what hotel you were at but it definitely wasn't this one. It also isn't a no smoking hotel like another reviewer said. They have smoking rooms and non-smoking rooms. That person probably didn't realize this and ended up with a smoking room. I definitely would come here again. I would just need to bring my own pillows. :-D read more

Very disappointed with our stay only stayed one night! When I made my reservation over the phone lady didn't even give me confirmation number nor did she send an email. Once we entered room it smelled weird also door could be open without a key, lock chain didn't work worst night since we couldn't sleep since door could just be open at anytime and heater made a loud sound when we would turn on so we just did without but it was cold. Also wanted to watch tv and it would turn on but as u change channels every channel was a white screen. We have stayed at quality inn hotels but have never experienced anything like this. Stayed here on a Sat, the eve of Mother's Day 2017. Before I booked this room I did my research on yelp for hotels in Payson. This location had a lot of reviewers saying the place is clean and the bed is comfy. They were right! My husband and I drove up from Surprise for the night as we were going fishing at Woods Canyon Lake and wanted an early start. We arrived around 9PM, the place was easy enough to find. It was quiet. The hotel clerk working that time was nice and courteous. The lobby was cute, inviting as well as clean. I checked in no problem. Had a room on the lower level around the back. Inside the room there was a coffee maker, tv, dresser, sliding patio door with chairs outside if u wanted to just sit and enjoy the view. Bathroom was clean! Bed was super comfy and inviting. We sleep well that night. No outside noise, no loud neighbors. In the morning I made me a cup of coffee and sat outside on the patio. Very peaceful. They do offer a full breakfast complimentary, but we didn't partake as we were more anxious to get to the lake early. Check out was as easy as checking in. That hotel clerk was just as courteous as the one the night before. I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay here, and will be back as well as I will tell my friends and family. read more

Our stay at the Quality Inn was uneventful, which is good. We booked on Priceline and were given a King Bed. However, we need a room with 2 queens. Upon check in we asked for a room with 2 queens. They consider this an "upgrade" so we were charged and extra $20.00. The room was clean and very spacious, with a big closet. There was microwave and mini fridge in the room. I especially liked that they had security bars on the sliding door that lead out to the spacious balcony. The hot breakfast was good and fulfilling. The hotel's gym was great. New cardio equipment and enough strength training to get the job done. Had we not done a "blind bid" through Priceline, I probably wouldn't have booked this hotel, due to the entrance to the rooms being on the exterior. However, we had no issues with security. Bottom line, if we were in the area again, we would stay here another time. read more

The room was messy. We ended up sleeping with our covers because our comforter had a spot of old blood. When we flipped it because of the old blood, it was dirty on the inside. It looked like food or mud was on the comforter. The room was also cold. The heater wasn't enough for the room. I really didn't get much sleep the 2 days we stayed here. We sincerely regret having stayed here. We stayed in room 144. When we were checking out, someone was complaining on the phone with the front desk. The lady kept sighing and rolling her eyes. Then the lady in front of me that was going to check out had a long list of complaints too for her room. When it was my turn, the front desk lady asked, "was there something wrong with your room too?" I told her my complaints and she said, " thank you for your feedback. This place is cheap and cheap for a reason. It's a complete dump. It's obvious the owner of this motel isn't interested in doing anything to keep the place up. My door barely closed and I had a gap where I could see outside, my bathroom door didn't close at all, the toilet paper roller was broken and the room is just downright uncomfortable. Not the prettiest hotel from the outside but they have updated and clean rooms. They are also a pet friendly hotel and have a section of the hotel just for pet owners. The best part is that they have patio access to an open area to take your dogs out to potty. They also provide poop bags and a container to dispose of the bags. Really good free breakfast as well! We only chose this place because there were no affordable cabins available. But we lucked out! We will absolutely consider this hotel again for staying in town. read more

Hard to rate. Rooms were okay. Clean but decor confusing. Furniture size didn't match room size. Had to kinda walk around things. But nice and comfortable we have a pet and that was outstanding surroundings to walk pet. The free breakfast was a highlight. I usually look at what's on the menu and generally pass. WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY ROOM. This handicap room was nice and roomy. My daughter could turn around in her power wheelchair and still have plenty of room for us to get around her. One of the largest rooms for wheelchair users we have found. The only drawback is...the breakfast area is actually a restaurant next door that Quality purchased. Access to get to it and get inside is good, but there are three steps down to the food selection. They do however have a few tables set up in the roomy entry way. The wheelchair user would have to have someone else get their food items for them. read more

We stayed on the backside of the property in an older room. It's not fancy but for the price, it was very comfortable, spacious and quiet. The first room we were shown did not have a fridge so we upgraded to a larger room with a small sitting area and balcony that overlooked the courtyard/pool area. It made all the difference. This didn't matter to me but there are no elevators and the ice machine is downstairs. Breakfast was good. I would stay here again. read more

Ok..not a 5-star as in the Ritz or Beverly Hilton, but definitely 5 stars for a clean QUIET room, great shower pressure and a yummy breakfast buffet. Check in was fast, staff efficient and professional, and the grey squirrels running around the pines in the grassy area were an added bonus. Someone on another post said it wasn't fancy..but do you really come to Payson, Arizona for a fancy hotel? I usually am terribly disappointed by slamming doors and screaming kids in nearby hotel rooms, and it was so not the case here. The rooms must be well insulated, because I never heard another person. We made the unfortunate choice to stay at this hotel. NEVER AGAIN. Our room reeked of cigarette smoke, even though it's a non-smoking motel. We opened up both doors, trying to get ventilation. The beds are ROCK HARD. My wife ended up "sleeping" in the chair about halfway thru the night. We loved Payson, but deeply regret staying at this place. read more

Very clean and quiet. The room was the biggest I've been in!! For breakfast, I was expecting the typical breakfast bar with muffins, drinks and cereal but they had everything! Make your own waffle and the sausage and gravy was yummy. We will definitely stay here on our next visit. read more

We stayed in a King suite and it was REALLY roomy. The bathroom was huge too. The place was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We had to switch rooms because our fridge was broken. But the nice young man at front desk(Jacob I think) came down to our room right away and tried to fix it himself. For the price we paid, I was pleasantly surprised! And they are pet friendly which is always nice. We will be visiting again thanks to friendly staff, clean rooms, and very affordable prices read more

What a horrible change of events! I have been staying at this hotel for 20 years and have seen it change corporate handles multiple times. This is the absolute worst condition I have seen the hotel in. Maybe I have a more "personal" approach to this review because of my familiarity with this hotel but I want to post my thoughts. First, they used to give a locals discount; and though it wasn't much, it was nice to know that they had that amount of respect. Second, when I checked in at the lobby the rooms were not ready until 4:30pm. What kind of a hotel has a check in at 4:30? Third, $175.00!!!! Are you kidding me? Just as a comparison - on the same weekend you could get a hotel room at the Phoenician for the same price. I felt extremely bad for the person working at the front desk. There were 4 people in front of me checking in and EVERY SINGLE ONE of them was pissed off! That poor worker was all by himself. So management expectation on an extremely busy weekend when check in isn't until 4:30pm is to staff one person at the front desk? Quality Inn really screwed this up. Payson is a small town and news travels fast. I don't see this company being around for long if this is how business is run. Its a real shame - I know I am not the only one with great memories of this place but that all changed this weekend - shameful. - UPDATE 06/08/2016 I appreciate reaching out to me on my comment from management of the hotel. I was not aware that the same owners still own this hotel. That would be extremely hard for someone to recognize with the multiple name changes throughout the years. In fact, that is a complete surprise to me. As far as rates, I haven't seen much out there that is comparable in the area. Not considering pine top/showlow and/or Sedona for obvious reasons. I will absolutely stay here again. As I have said before, this has been a staple hotel for my family for years. The disappointment is in the continued decline in service, facility, and cleanliness unfortunately. read more
