We arrived to crisp air and cute little cabins. Check in was easy and we just went right to our cabin. Love sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch and enjoying the beauty of the tree. The kids loved the bonus of little tree swings out back.

Cabins are cozy and the surroundings are lovely. Restaurant is in walking distance and offers live music. The folks who run this place are so friendly and accommodating--I'll definitely be back!

Stayed here at cabin #11 with some friends. It was okay but very old style, like we didn't know how to lock the bathroom doors or open them cause it was a old lock. The place is big just wish there were more beds and comfy ones. Like the bunk beds could be twin beds instead. There was a pull out couch and also there was a couch as well. 3 rooms had actual beds and 1 room had 3 bunk beds. The bunk beds were super thin. Like you can feel the springs. Maybe if I stayed in an actual normal size bed I would give it another star but idk. Everyone said they slept okay. Someone woke up to a spider crawling up their leg in the middle of the night. There 2 bathrooms, wish there was more. They have a walk in shower. I'm 5'11 and the shower were the water came from was not tall enough. Needs to be higher. The place had a balcony. There's a restaurant across the street and it was okay. But most places here is okay.

Cute and cozy cabins. There are a lot of on property activities such as corn hole, swings, hammocks and fire pits. The bathrooms, although a bit outdated, are clean. The only downsides are the very small kitchenette could use some utensils maybe and the cabins inside not being small child friendly. The stair railings are very spaced apart and my toddler could definitely fit through them and fall. Also the furniture in the loft is pushed against the loft wall and if a small child happens to stand on it, could easily topple off. I would return when my children are older and understand the dangers but until then we are unable to.

My wife and I got married at Cabins at Creekside in June of 2023. The experience was amazing. we're so glad that we chose Creekside. From the beginning of our first tour, we loved Justin. He was so down to earth and friendly. He made sure we had all the information we needed to make an informed decision. On the day of the wedding, things went perfectly! Janet helped us to coordinate the event and made sure that all the details were in place. We had a delicious smoked meats dinner that the chef knocked out of the park! The table settings were beautiful. The staff did an amazing job on the setup. Justin made sure that all of the guests were comfortable and taken care of. One more exceptional staff member who needs a shout out was Josh. He was so kind, friendly, accommodating and professional. Josh and Justin went above and beyond to ensure that everyone had a great experience. From giving tours, to taking pictures, to recommending local hikes, giving rides to elderly family members, providing a complimentary breakfast, telling the history of the cabins, ensuring warm hospitality, and so much more, these guys took great care of everyone. Justin, Josh and Janet were the dream team! Our guests stayed in cabins that were very cozy and had a real northwoods feel to them. My wife and I got to stay in the nicest camper I've ever been in! It was huge inside and felt like an apartment. The food at the tavern was delicious! We loved the pizza and burgers. One of the best aspects of the wedding was the setting. Nestled into a ponderosa forest, the venue had a peaceful and natural feeling. Our guests felt at relaxed, and were able to experience the unique climate of Cristopher Creek. Right before the wedding ceremony started, one of the most magical moments took place. As our guests were being seated, an elk with two calves emerged from the forest. Our guests were awestruck as this majestic creature walked through the wedding site just moments before the ceremony. The site was perfectly decorated enough to be classy, yet minimalistic. The staff set up a beautiful! My wife was so appreciative for Josh during the set up. He checked in and made sure that everything was taken care of perfectly, so that we could focus on enjoying the day. He has an eye for detail and did a wonderful job ensuring that everything was perfect. My personal favorite part of the wedding experience at Creekside was the people. The setting gave us a chance to connect deeply with our loved ones through hiking, bonfires, and enjoying God's beauty outside. It meant so much that Justin and Josh shared so deeply in our joy that weekend! I can't say enough great things about these two gentlemen. They treated us like family. I would highly recommend hosting a wedding at Creekside for the combination of caring staff, beautiful setting, great value and cozy accommodations.

I have stayed in the Pony Express rooms, Cabin 10, and and the Bunk Trailside rooms. They are all well worth what you pay (hint: hotel rooms in Payson are more expensive). The view is fantastic. Just a great place to come and relax. The cabins are closest to the Creek. Wonderful to wake up and open the door and listen to the bubbling Creek. Or from anywhere just sit and listen to the sounds of the forest. There are picnic tables, and charcoal bbq grills (except at the Pony Express) and more tables and both charcoal and propane bbq grills in a common area.

Such a cozy cabin fit my family of 4 perfect! The site offers free firewood and propane grills for use which was a greatly appreciated. While making dinner one evening a Elk came walking on up! Wonderful surprise my children loved it. Only a short 5 min walk to see the creek. The host Justin was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be coming back.

We recently stayed in the Old Glory Cabin for 3 nights & we really enjoyed it. So torn on the rating...want to give it 4 stars but we had so many problems & we go away to get away from our problems so if I could give it 3.75 that's how it would fall in line with other accomodations we've had & how I've rated them. Positives: Nice cabins, very clean & no bugs in spite of being in the woods, beautiful decks with rocking chairs for sitting outside, picnic table & grill for each cabin, outdoor fire pit, hammocks, very quiet & peaceful, good hot water pressure & bathroom was very nice & most up to date. There are multiple heaters in every room, nice big screen tv, good size refrigerator, along with a Keurig. It was really nice having a tavern on the premises, but not the greatest food. Negatives: It was very difficult to make a change to the reservation once it was made & a few days before we arrived & had already paid, it was cancelled (which they did immediately notify me about to correct the error). The WiFi never worked the entire stay. It would come on briefly for a few minutes then was not found again & took forever to figure out how to use the tv with no details provided on how to access it & get it up & running. Once we got it on, we just left it on the entire stay so as not to go through figuring it out again. The sofa & beds were very soft & outdated, not all lights were working. Coffee was provided but no coffee cups to actually make some & a sign indicated water was for sale on the shelf, but none left. If this was all, I would have still given it 4 stars, but on our last night there, the water was shut off (sinks, toilet, shower) at 10pm & did not come on again until the next morning. I did not report this at the time thinking it was too late & we were headed to bed anyway. I'm just glad it was on again when we woke up in the morning. Overall we enjoyed our stay & would come again. I absolutely love the concept of having the tavern with cabins in the back. The cabins are so cute & could just use a little updating, particularly with the mattresses & sofas. The tavern needs some better food, but if you order the right thing, it's not bad. Creekside is a very nice place to stay & we found their location to be great for everything we wanted to do.

We had an amazing weekend up in these cabins at Christopher Creek. So cute, and the food/drinks at the tavern were amazing as well! We will definitely be back, and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a little get away up North!

Bear's Den#3 from couch looking up into loft.

We needed to get out of the desert & my wife's not a tent camper. We took our three girls & rented the Bear's Den #3 for two nights in late May 2020. I like Christopher Creek. I've camped there several times. So trying to cabin. Let's see.... it's pretty good. Here are a few things. 1. Due to COVID the restaurant on site is closed. There's general store maybe 1/3 mile away that has food like burritos that we didn't try. There is the Landmark Tavern restaurant that we ate at. We socially distanced on the patio and it was yummy but hella slow. They're not open Mon & Tues. 2. The cabin is cute. Upstairs has three beds (you can fit 4 up there) But it's HOT. Very hot up there in the summer. They have a fan you can run but it's loud. It wasn't too bad. The girls got over it. 3. The cabin was cute. Ingrid runs things and she was cool. Some other lady was there, too, and she was personable. 4. There's a 3mile ish loop hike nearby called Spring Trail. It was a good hike for a few hours. What didn't I like? Not much. The cabins are close together. If you wanted spread out, they're not. They're close together. Not a huge deal. There's also nothing to do on property outside the cabin except swing in the swing, grill on the community grill, or have a fire outside if it's chilly. We did photograph some stars & saw deer come through in the dark. That was cool. They made it sound like you can just chill at the creek when booking. Yeah, so that. If you wanna go to the creek, you park at the restaurant down the road, walk behind it, walk down the hill, and you try to keep away from private property. So there's that. This is what they nice lady told me. Different than the description where it seems like the creek runs right near the cabin on the property. I had a nice time. So did the wife.

    Barry J.

They've made some great improvements since we were last here a couple years ago. The patio is renovated. There was live acoustic music both nights we stayed. And the menu/service is much improved. Cabins were clean, nice condition. Someone told us there's new owners. Great stay, thank you!

This little gem in Young, AZ is complete with unique & cozy accommodations with amazing views and, of course, Robin and Karla. My boyfriend and I were invited by a good friend & there were 7 of us total. No particular agenda or specific plans were made for this little trip, but we were plenty occupied and engaged the entire time. We stayed in the Saloon/Guesthouse (which Robin built, by the way!) and it was plenty of space for everyone. Upon arriving Saturday morning, we met Robin & Karla and proceeded to unload our vehicles. After that, we spend some time observing their horses and soaking in the beautiful weather. Robin & Karla were filling us in on some of the history of the area. I could listen to them talk for DAYS. They're such great storytellers and their passion for digging into the past in an effort to preserve it is really admirable. After about a hour or so, Robin took us out into the woods.. Not sure exactly where we went, but he hopped on his quad and we followed behind (caravan of SUVs & pickup trucks). The road was windy and bumpy and we got some weird looks from the cattle as we blazed passed. We spent a few hours hiking down to some water while Robin filled us in on more history. Some of us panned for gold, others explored the area (found an abandoned mine) or fired some rounds nearby. It was a nice, relaxing morning. We went back to the Inn around 130p and Robin started showing us how to rope. A couple of us gave it a shot.. I didn't. I just stood back & took photos :) Then around 330p, we went up the road to a winery for a tasting (Bruzzi Vineyard.. I'll review separately). We returned a couple hours later with several bottles of wine and started cooking/grilling dinner. Robin & Karla joined us for dinner and conversation in the saloon. We played pool & had a very relaxing evening. Sunday morning didn't really have much on the agenda. After breakfast, Robin & Karla took us up the road to the Hogland General Store and gave us a tour of the structures on the land. Again, more information about the history and the people that lived in Young years ago. It was all very interesting. We will definitely be back & hope to have time for a longer stay.

Our entire wedding weekend was truly magical. One of the biggest highlights is that you get all 14 cabins on-site for your guests, which makes the experience feel like a private mountain retreat with all your favorite people. Waking up in the morning and seeing wildlife, elk and deer roaming the property was such a special touch that you just can't get anywhere else. The property itself is breathtaking from every angle. The new ceremony overlook site is absolutely stunning, offering views that make your "I do" moment feel unreal. And the string lights that stretch from cabin to cabin and over the dance floor completely transform the space at night. It's magical, warm, and gives off that perfect cozy Hallmark movie vibe. They also provide a super helpful wedding portal for communication. It lays out a clear timeline of all the tasks that need to be completed, each with a deadline, which makes it so easy to stay on track and feel organized throughout the planning process. We used their recommended food vendor, Marcus at Gibson's Smokehouse, who was incredible--the food was amazing. We also had the best team of vendors who are familiar with the venue and with each other, which made everything run even smoother: Photographers: Spets Photography, Videographers: Bumblebee Photo Film, DJ: Javier at C-West Entertainment, Wedding Coordinator: DianaCatherineWeddings Each of them played such a huge role in making the venue shine and bringing our day to life. Another huge perk is that you can bring in most of your own vendors, giving you the flexibility to create the exact wedding you want. The owners (Rick, Amanda & Jason), who live on-site, are incredibly kind, welcoming, and available 24/7 if needed. They walk around during the wedding to ensure everything is running smoothly, and their presence adds such a comforting and supportive touch. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful the venue was and how much fun they had. It was seriously the best day ever. We couldn't have envisioned a more perfect wedding from the location, to the setup, to the people who made it all happen. If you're looking for a magical, scenic, cozy, and unforgettable place to get married, this is the place to have your wedding. Highly, highly recommend!- Megan & Cierra

Plenty of room in both bedrooms with queen beds. It has a full kitchen with everything you need to cook. TV with cable if you need your fix. Upstairs has a deck and the backyard is gated. We had a fire in the backyard one night and enjoyed the stars. The owner did not wait for me to ask him to make things right. He explained the flood and the room not being ready, apologized, and offered the huge cabin at the same rate we already booked the small cabin. Probably the biggest perk to this cabin resort is the love for dogs. There are no fees for your dogs. Dogs are welcome. The owner showed me a sign he used to have that roughly said We never had a dog burn down the cabin or smoke in the bed. I travel with my Boxer and my wife's Maltese. We had no issues whatsoever. Cabin is located by some great little lakes we have on the Mogollon Rim. Search Willow Springs Lake, Chevelon Lake, Black Canyon Lake, Woods Canyon Lake, Bear Canyon Lake, Knoll Lake, and Fools Hollow Lake all are roughly within 30 miles of the cabin. Fishing, camping, and picnicking are great in this area.

My husband surprised me with this cabin for our Anniversary! This was definitely a 10/10! Super…read morequiet, had all the necessities of BBQing and cooking! So close to a couple lakes and an overall perfect location! We came from 97 degrees to the 60s! My ONLY complaints were the shower head () it was awful! And the satellite didn't work very well so no TV which was fine but for families with kids might be an issue. But overall definite recommendation!

The area is truly beautiful. And there is direct access to the forest. Next to this site is a…read moregated community so you do hear some minimal noise. The cabin was nice although I do think there should be an investment in updating. None of our glasses matched and most were plastic tumbler type. Our cabin was for 4 and yes, there were 4 folks, 4 spoons and 4 knives only. A maybe 2 inch circular soap is what was available for both hand washing and bathing. Seems one of the sleeping areas is the living room on a sofabed. The parking area and area around the cabins is very well lit at night - some may have suitable curtains, ours did not but was not as issue for us. There was no information on the cabin, the area, the rules, etc in our cabin which would have been helpful - there also didn't appear to be any onsite assistance anywhere. This is also a dog friendly place although you have to keep them on leash at all time. There is no enclosed area. The biggest negative for me/family was the unevenness of the walkways around the cabin. There a number of dips in the roadway and parking area and it is a steep incline. The kids play area is on a hill and the paved portion is so steep you gain way too much speed walking straight down - gotta zig zag. We both agreed if you had walking difficulties or had a walker, it was going to be challenging to get around. If you are planning a trip, be sure the check the local establishments times. We did not and all in the immediate area were closed Monday-Wednesday - this may just be the time of year though don't know. Be sure to pack what you want/need - although only 20 miles or so to Payson, its a long 20 miles.
