This place is magical. Great property with elk and the office gives u free peanuts for the squirrels!

    Kitten enjoying the view

We (my husband and I) went to Christopher Creek Lodge as guests of a wedding that was taking place nearby. The location was incredible. Trees of all kinds, beautiful fall leaves falling all around us, crisp Autumn air smelling of pine, and a trickling creek behind our cabin. So take note here folks, the "creek" part of Christopher CREEK Lodge is not some mindless addition to the name... There's an actual creek in play here. The cabin itself was spacious. While there was only 2 of us and a kitten, there was a whole loft part of the cabin with 4 large beds. We used the downstairs king size bed, which was spacious and comfortable. But given the generous amount of beds upstairs, you could have 6-8 people staying with you in a single cabin (check with establishment here on actual occupancy maxes). There's a little kitchen space with a stove, microwave, cups, plates, utensils, a Keurig coffee maker and a few pots and sauce pans in varying sizes. If you need very specific items you should probably ask ahead if they're available, the owner/manager was very friendly and happy to answer questions so don't be shy. A wooden picnic table with benches and lots of seating was situated by a window. There was a heater in the wall, some space heaters, and an wood fire stove. We were warm our entire stay, in fact we had to turn the heaters down at one point as we managed to get the place too hot at night. The hot water was hot, hot, hot on command! I wish my own water heater rocked that hard. Never a cold shower and the water pressure was apparently "fixing problems I've had for years" in my husband's back. The bathroom was a bit small but no complaints here, we weren't trying to throw a party in there or anything. Behind the cabin there were lots of rocking chairs (something I find very comforting and really enjoy as a fidgety person) as well as a bench. There's a grill setup for outdoor grilling. We could watch the creek and grill at the same time if we wanted to. As it was, we simply watched the squirrels put on a show in a bid to get food out of us, and watched some apples from a nearby apple tree (possibly crab apple) fall into the creek. Was fun seeing them bobbing down the creek. All the rules were posted plainly for visitors to see within the cabin, and nothing that was asked of visitors was anything I'd consider to be unfair or unreasonable. As I stated earlier, we brought our kitten with us. The place allows animals for a small extra fee and they have cabins specifically for those with animals. I imagine most people who have pets bring their dogs... We brought our kitten because she's young, I didn't want to leave her, and I wanted to acclimate her to car rides. She LOVED all the new smells and the sights of squirrels. She found lots of places to hide, enjoyed sitting near the space heater, and behaved herself with the property (thankfully). There was a covered trash can right out front too so that when I scooped her litter box, I could just pop it in the covered trash can out front real quick and not worry about stinking up the place. Something others might also find useful for diapers or doggie leavings. There's a fantastic giant wood carved Sasquatch on the grounds and we took a few pics with it. There was also a playground for little kiddos to take advantage of. We're already planning a return trip, and are thinking we should invite our family and have em take all our little nephews and niece with them.. grandma too! It's a great spot to enjoy as a couple on a romantic trip or an adventure with the whole family. I was sad when 11am checkout rolled around. In the morning the autumn leaves fall like rain, the creek trickles pleasantly, and it is a most relaxing, beautiful display. I didn't want to leave and cannot wait to go back. Thanks Christopher Creek Lodge!

    Elk outside our door

Such a great place for a getaway and to get out of the heat. The bunk house was clean and quiet. We had an elk walk right outside of our door. Quick drive up to the rim. Dog friendly. We will be back.

We rented 3 cabins for our family (C4,C5,C6). Two of the cabins were very nice, and newly remodeled. The cabin my husband and I stayed in (C5) was dark, musty, and in great need of remodeling.

I've been at the cabins many times but this is the first time I've stayed in the newly remodeled C4 cabin. I must say it is awesome! The TVs offer streaming services, separate bedroom, updated bathroom, updated furniture, new windows. Great job!

Stayed here only one night . But beyond gorgeous stay. The owners were very nice and the rooms were very clean. Great place to come back to after a long day at the lake or hiking. Will definitely come back

Everything was awesome friendly front desk, views, clean grounds and room. Great play area for kids. We were able to grill and sit by fire with s'mores. Highly recommend staying here and will be back.

The cabin was as described and the grounds were quiet, especially since all guests observed the 10pm quiet time.

Okay, this is a long one as I feel it's needed to actually feel the five star experience!…read more Majestic Mountain Inn, so cute! Family and I decided to take a night trip to Payson. Booked the room hours before arrival with only past experiences guiding my choices. We booked a queen room with two queen beds, photos showed a fireplace as well... I mean winter in Payson Az demands a fireplace... right? Done... booked... on our way. We arrived just before dinner. Once we pulled up, you see a quaint looking mountain hotel escape with one large two story building and several connecting little cottage looking rooms. The manager who checked us in (please forgive me for forgetting his name) had been very accommodating with our requests for more blankets and a lower level room. He also recommended the local pizza restaurant for dinner within walking distance. Our room was adorable and large! Two queen beds, a couch, fireplace and large vanity area with plenty of space for four. The beds were so comfortable and with the fireplace only, left us with a very cozy evening. Almost felt like you were in a secluded cabin in the woods. Also, I won't forget to mention, breakfast was included! Eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, biscuits, and gravy... so much to choose from. My husband has decided that this will be our "go-to" in Payson from now on. Thanks Majestic Mountain Inn for making our adventure more memorable! See you next time! I apologize for not having any Photos but we were too busy taking in the ambience of this town and making memories, I didn't even think to grab my phone.

HORRIBLE BAIT AND SWITCH. Fake advertising! They took out ALL of the fireplaces! No one told us…read morewhen we booked! I'm sure this was to save money on propane and maybe on insurance, too. But they still charge FULL RATE! About the most expensive room in Payson. We are paying over $200 per night. Over $400 this weekend. Why not pass on a little bit of the savings? They need to be HONEST in their advertising and website. This is NOT okay. In the big hole - where the fireplace USED to be - they placed a portable electric heater that has FAKE logs and a glowing light. It blows out a little heat, but not enough to heat in the winter. There's is an under window unit for more heat, but it is NOT CHARMING. We're here for our anniversary. I would not recommend this place if you want romance. It has totally lost the allure that has had us coming back here for 30 + years. Even though the rooms are getting run down, it is still a good location with a decent breakfast. (We'll see tomorrow). Still one of the better places in Payson. But NOT a romantic getaway anymore.

This place was not worth the money whatsoever. When we first checked in, I let the front desk agent…read moreknow that we had a service dog with us. No questions asked, she simply said okay. I had a really rough week, and so I booked a more expensive suite with a jacuzzi tub in it. Upon entering the room, we were impressed with the size, but quickly our optimism diminished.... the tub was gross. All of the grout around the tub had huge gaps and cracks where the grout was falling off into the tub. The toiletries were minimal. The shower had a shampoo and conditioner bottle attached to the wall, but no body soap and nothing to bathe in the tub with. I didn't bring toiletries, assuming these would be provided, so unfortunately I wasn't even able to utilize my upgrade. This was actually the least of my worries. We went to to pull out the sofa bed for my kids.... absolutely disgusting! There were huge yellow stains all over the mattress that looked like urine. Not even sure how this passed housekeeping standards. Photos attached. The room had a nasty smell, stains in the carpets and on the sofa, and overall just disgusting. The final straw was when I walked my small dachshund (registered service animal) downstairs to exit the lobby. I had my hands full of personal items, so my son was walking him on a leash. As we exited the lobby, there was a few guests downstairs, and my service animal barked a bit as we walked by. Nothing aggressive or unruley whatsoever! Simply a bark. My son was able to control him, and there was nothing to be concerned about. He wasnt pulling on the leash or charging at anyone, simply walking with my son towards the exit as he excitedly expressed a bark. The lobby agent rudely yelled "maam!! You cant have your dog in here!" I had my hands full and told her that id be right back to speak with her, and she continued to yell, "you cant have your dog in here! Whats your room number!!" At this point, is was offended by her actions and decided that I would take a few minutes to calm down rather than walk back inside. So, after about 20 minutes I called the front desk. I asked her how I would go about requesting a refund on my room, since we still had reservations through tomorrow. She rudely asked why and asked for my room number. I then told her I was the lady with the service animal, and that she rudely discriminated against me instead of asking the proper questions to determine IF my dog was a properly trained animal. Instead, she got extremely defensive and lied, telling me that my dog charged at the person in the lobby, and that there's no way my dog could ever be a service animal... um, no. This isn't how it works lady. You don't get to assume my dog isn't qualified. Nor do you have the right to lie and say my dog is aggressive when he clearly wasn't. She then said she has cameras, and I said great! I'd love to show your manager the footage to prove you wrong. What's your name? ... crickets..... okay, let me speak to your manager.... she hangs up. So, I call back. I instantly get an attitude, and am told that she's the front desk manager now. Okay, awesome! What's your name so that I can tell priceline who i spoke with to get a refund due to discrimination, unprofessional staff, and disgusting rooms... she refuses. Okay, what's your managers name? I need to speak with someone that can provide me with a name, someone who has the professional capabilities to speak with a concerned customer... again, hangs up. This is absolutely unacceptable!!! I have full documentation showing my animal is a fully trained service animal. My son is a diabetic, and my 3 year old dachshund has been through rigorous training to be a diabetic detection animal, that can show signs of alert when my son's blood sugar is at a risky level. Per law, I do not have to go into detail of my son's condition, nor do I need to show documentation, but this woman was completely unprofessional and discriminatory, and ive pursued a claim with corporate. I really hope she loses her job because I will NEVER stay at a choice hotel again
