They have the best seafood buffet on Friday night, prime rib and the best crab in northern California that i have found

The quail run has been my guilty pleasure for some time. 2x a year I make it there. The rating might be high for some people but is hard not to rate it high when you consider the price, the quality and the view. is not a 5 star restaurant but is a fun place to end up after gambling 20 dollars in the penny machine for an hour. I would of chosen 3 and 1/2 stars if I could have. I have to start with one thing: The view receives 5 stars, located on top of a mountain, overlooking the Alexander valley, sunsets are just glorious. Is a great place for a cup of coffee and dessert and also they have food a la carte. This review is for the Buffet. The food was actually very very good, but this was mothers day brunch, so I am sure they went the extra mile to pamper all the mums. The Buffet had so much to select, I skipped the fresh greens and fruits, and went right for the Waldorf salad and the ambrosia. The Waldorf was nice and fresh with crispy apples and celery, light dressing and walnuts. is was Sunday after church type of salad. The Ambrosia salad was addictive, mini marshmallows fresh coconut, there were fresh ripe peaches in this salad, some canned fruit was in it too I am sure, but here were chunks of fresh stuff, I wonder if they always make it like this. then I went for the fried prawns, some baron of beef and roasted veggies. The fried prawns were surprisingly yummy, very meaty, not the usual buffet type. Sweet and flavorful, I think they were coated with panko. The beef was dry and not much taste was detected. The veggies were really really good, specially the cauliflower, roasting it made it sweet and deepened the flavors. My friend tried the salmon and she said it was fresh and moist and flaky. They also had eggs Benedict, ham, peel and eat shrimp, mashed potatoes and much more, but a boy can only eat so much. For dessert I tried their little chocolate cups with pudding and strawberries. Also some more ambrosia. and a cup of coffee. all of it was yummy. I did not look at the wine list. All in all , it was a buffet, it was good quality, the view was amazing, My friend, who we were taking out for mothers day, won over 140 dollars in the 2 penny machine ( she got 3 chickens on a row on the screen) so she was happy. The price for this special brunch was 19 dollars per person, coffee soda and tea included, but then we got 2 x 1 passes from the Hyatt hotel lobby so that made it 10 dollars per person. The buffet is a part of the restaurant and set off to the side. Pretty small, but they do offer quality food. Their baron of Kobe beef was alright, but slightly medium-well and a little tough. Their pineapple spareribs were quite good and tender. The baked potato bar was good, and the option of blue cheese is a plus. Service was good and there was enough food despite the small selection. read more

We went to River Rock Casino's Thanksgiving Buffet. The food and service was excellent. There was a large variety of foods to eat. You had prime rib, chicken, fish and delicious stuffing. The desert bar was excellent. I loved the pumpkin pie and soft serve ice cream. I can't believe you could get two dinners like that for $50. read more

Food is fairly good, and service OK but the restaurant is just a draw so they can get you to gamble---whatever turns you on, I guess.

I've now been standing in line for nearly an hour. For a line of people that should have take 10 minutes. The woman checking people in is averaging a group every THREE minutes. I've never witnessed someone so massively incompetent at her job in my life. This is beyond belief. read more

We've done the buffet before and and although the selection isn't that great, they do have some good things. Always have been a fan of the prime rib when they do it right which they do most of the time. Dessert is not great, but good enough. We were there last Friday, but sadly, this was our last time. There were lots of flies. Inside the glass where they kept the salad and dessert. Saw them on the dinner rolls too. I don't see them changing anything anytime soon, so I doubt this will get fixed. read more

Great Buffet at River Rock Casino! They have a seafood & prime rib buffet on Friday night! MMMMMMMM! Who could not love all you can eat seafood and prime rib! Also on Saturday nights is the Baron of Beef! Its amazingly tender beef sliced right off the bone! You can't go wrong! The lunch buffet is also good with multiple hot and cold food items to choose from and lots of desserts! read more

Vegetarian reviewer here. We have eaten here twice in the past five years, when in the Geyserville area. Since we are veg-heads, we look for price and variety of food selection when choosing a dining experience. The buffet at any casino is always a draw for us. The price here is right, $9.99 per person. The outstanding feature of the restaurant is the view off the outside patio, which gives and extraordinary view over the Alexander Valley. The service was very good. The facility was clean and, thank god, smoke free. I agree with several other reviews in noting that the food spread is not attractively laid out. At first, this was a turn-off visually. However, since eating food, not viewing food, is the principal motivation for dining out, I have to say that this place provides some very tasty items. Salads very good, veg entrees were varied enough, desserts were satisfactory. I have eaten at much better casino buffets (the Bellagio in Vegas) and much worse buffets (Sweet Tomatoes in Pleasant Hill), and Quail Run at River Rock Casino is really pretty good. We have been there twice and would not hesitate to go again when in the area. read more
