I had to update my review for QQ Teahouse because wow, their boba has significantly improved since last time I've been. I believe this might be the only boba shop in Dallas that offers humongous cups for only a $0.50 upgrade from the large size, and that's enough reason for me to come. Their jasmine green milk tea with lychee jelly is really good. It reminds of the same drink offered at another good boba chain in Austin. I went out of my way to get some milk tea from here because it's a Taiwanese boba shop. I was very impressed. The prices are reasonable AND the tea was fantastic. I ordered a honey milk tea (jasmine green tea base) with 75% sugar, less ice. It was still a little too sweet for my taste but the drink was STILL PERFECT because the tea flavor is not lost to the sugar or milk. Me and my two friends all felt like it was the best milk tea we have had in the Dallas area. As a retired boba "barista", I care a lot about when I spend money on my tea drinks. With that being said, I will definitely be back whenever I come to visit Plano. This shop is partnered with Wu Wei Ding Restaurant, so you can enjoy their drinks with your meal. I'm not sure what to say other than this place doesn't exist. The signs on the building say QQ Teahouse, but it's been combined with Wu Wei Din Chinese Cuisine. The menu is Wu Wei's and as far as the boba drinks, they only have the milk teas but no slushees or smoothie drinks. Wow! This place has changed. Came back to the old stomping ground, and remembered this place had a variety of black tea, milk tea, smoothies, etc, ramen, and big "QQ-sized cups" and wanted to stop by. Pulled in the parking lot and walked up to the usual door. It's locked and displays a sign saying "Carry out only. Please call this number:" I call the number, and ask them if they still serve boba drinks. They give me a short list of drinks over the phone, and as you might have guessed, a majority of the drinks you might remember are gone, including smoothies. Disappointed, but not wanting to go anywhere else at the moment, I order a black tea with boba. I tell them that I am outside QQ teahouse, and ready to pick up. They tell me to enter in Wu Wei Din next door to pick up and pay. I enter to pay so they can make my drink, and they tell me that they are all out of regular boba. Really!? Not cool. So I ask if they have popping boba to use as a substitution, which they did. I got my drink a couple of minutes later and went on my way. I will say that the drink was okay. So to recap, QQ teahouse is no more the place you may remember. They demolished the wall separating QQ and Wu Wei Din, and you enter in Wu Wei Din to order and pick up your drinks. The concept is that Wu Wei Din can cook you their food, and you have QQ to give you drinks with their food, under one bill. The space and tables in QQ is also used as extra room for patrons dining at Wu Wei Din. It's no longer a typical bubble tea shop that you are familiar with. I wish they had made a sign at the original entrance saying "Please enter through Wu Wei Din", instead of "Carry out only". They also need to take off the QQ teahouse sign, so we no longer are confused about the future of QQ teahouse. I might have to come back for Wu Wei Din's food, but that's a separate review. As for me coming out of the way just to get QQ drinks only, I think I will take a hard pass next time. read more

This is a homey boba tea shop. It has both food and drink selections. I've tried the sunrise tea in the past with lychee jelly, 50% sweet, and less ice and it was delicious. This time, I ordered the Lychee Passionfruit smoothie with 50% sugar and boba. It was still a little bit sweet for me but the flavors were great and the blend of the flavors were perfecI love how you can customize your smoothie flavors at this place. They have a vast variety of flavors for slushes/smoothies including avocado, blueberry, and kiwi. Also, their prices aren't as high as other chain locations. The service is always pretty fast and the cashiers are pretty friendly too. This is the perfect place to hang out with your friends and grab a bite to eat or drink. During COVID: Came back to this place again, and it's still my go-to boba place. Didn't know it was curbside pick-up only until I got there, but their service was incredibly quick regardless. Called their phone and ordered through the phone. The service was fast and the tea was delicious. I've always liked and ordered the fruit teas as one of my favorites is the Sunrise green tea. I would definitely recommend getting 70% or 50% sugar if you don't have a big sweet tooth. It's refreshing for a hot summer day and has a lot of flavor. 4.5/5! I really like this boba place. I've been here a few times to grab a drink and to study, and it's always met my needs. There always seems to be an open table for studying. The staff are nice as well and super friendly. I liked the quality of the boba and milk tea! Having gotten the regular milk tea and taro, I can say that they're super good for taking a sip in between going over lecture slides. The food is also pretty good for snacking if you ever get hungry, too. What's going to keep me coming back is that they still use the same punch card from when I first came 4 years ago! I LOVE this place! It was my go-to study place in high school (literally spent hours here) and I love their boba! Drinks 5/5 My top three drinks are thai milk tea, coffee milk tea, and fruit cup! The boba isn't sweet, but the texture is pretty good. Food 10/5 Ya'll have to try the popcorn chicken! It's by far my favorite and inexpensive (~$5 for the snack, ~$7 for the meal which comes with popcorn chicken, potstickers, and veggies). The whole milk tea and boba drink fad was so 2000 for me. After college, I never crave milk tea anymore, but QQ just changed my mind. QQ teahouse is the new kid in town, and they sure know how to show everyone else what's up. I got the classic milk tea with pudding. The large is definitely huge, and it's in one of those stout and fat cups. This type of cup is very popular right now especially in Houston and California, so I was excited to get this novelty cup. For $3.50 for a large, it's definitely a steal compared to $5.00 in Houston. The milk tea was rich and creamy, and the sweetness was perfect. They sell snacks like french fries and chicken nuggets in addition to the drinks, but they ran out when I was here. The ambiance is quite nice, and I got my drink immediately. This is a great place to study (especially since UTD is around the corner), or just to hang out with friends. It's family owned and operated. The parents work in the back while the kids help out in the front. They are really good kids with a lot of manners. I love small business like this. This place is close to both my work and church, so I'm always seeing people I know when I walk in. It's a nice place to work if you can grab one of the tables near an outlet, and a casual place to hang with people and just chat. In the summers some of the seats near the windows get pretty hot, so be aware of that when you sit down. I've enjoyed the jasmine and earl grey teas here, and I also really like their wintermelon black tea offering; I've found that a lot of places in the metroplex don't have wintermelon tea on the menu, which is a shame because it's so good! I also enjoy that their large size is a big ol' tub of tea. You can also customize for amount of sugar and amount of ice here, which is nice. I've had the ramen here, as well as the popcorn chicken rice and the braised pork rice. Solid if you're looking for a quick Taiwanese-style fix with your boba, but other places have bigger portion sizes and higher quality fare. Still, though, it's convenient and easy, which are big pluses. The servers and cashiers are always friendly and helpful. read more

More bitter than usual. We let them know and they said that they would remake it. The second drink was worst than the first, very bitter. We called back a second time and let them know that we would just take a refund. Another woman got on the phone and refused to give us the refund and literally berated me for not liking the drink. When I explained to her that we come here 3-4x a week and were very loyal customers she didn't care. She proceeded to tell me that the owner said we can't have a refund. I have a feeling it is the same owners though as this drink and smoothie place does offer some of the same identical dishes as the restaurant next door for the exact same price. The place was pretty full on a Saturday night when I was there, but there was a very minimal wait. The menu has lots of your favorite Asian drinks and we had no problems finding a seat. Most of this review will be focused around the ambiance. We sat at some lounge chairs where there were some games (chess, card games, etc.). There was plenty to entertain and our drinks came quickly. I genuinely don't know why I keep coming here. When this place opened a few years ago I remember thinking there's no way it will last. I wish that was the case. The quality of drinks and food has declined so much in the last year alone that I question my reason for meeting with friends. My girlfriend ordered the "new sesame chicken" tonight, and it was 80% fried breading? I don't even know how that works but it was crunchy and hollow and strange. The drink quality has been on steady decline, I used to get grapefruit juice because it was the only place in Plano where you could get it fresh squeezed, and I guess now they water it down and fill it with sugar and hope no one notices? Tldr, QQ is below average. The drinks are too expensive to be as diluted as they are, the food is over priced, and the only thing I would say to keep going for are the snack items the offer. I first visited this place while on my way home from visiting a friend. I was in the mood for bubble tea and decided to stop and to check out their boba. There were a few young people in the seating area toward the back of the restaurant and two couples sitting in the dining area when I entered. They carry various flavors of bubble tea and milk tea drinks. In addition to their drink menu they also sell ramen and appetizers. I decided to try their ramen as it's hard for me to pass up a bowl of ramen. The ramen was tasty, but I liked their drinks better. The boba was the right consistency and went well with the drink flavors. They also give you the option of adjusting the level of sweetness in your drink which is a plus. If it wasn't for the thai tea that I got, I would have given this place 2 stars. My boyfriend got regular milk tea and when we both tried it, it was pretty disappointing. It tasted fairly watered down and I've just been really tired of places having watered down milk tea. I got the Thai tea and it was good! I always add lychee jelly to my thai tea wherever I go (I know, it's weird) and the lychee jelly tasted great also! You think you couldn't get lychee jelly wrong but trust me, I've been to places where the lychee jelly was terrible. You would also think Thai tea is hard to get wrong but again, I've been to another place where the Thai tea tasted so weird. I can say that I'm very satisfied with my thai tea! The inside was cute and cozy. It seemed like a nice place to study. A few people were sitting and drinking their drinks while studying. The price is decent. $2.99 for most of the different milk teas. To add a topping is another 50 cents which is pretty standard but maybe a little more than other boba places. Wait time is short. Less than 5 min but there were hardly any people also. We went around 9pm at night. Overall, I would not recommend the regular milk tea. I can't vouch for the food since I've never tried it but I saw that they do serve some! One of the challenges I had when I first went for boba tea was not knowing how to order. So if you're in that same boat, this review is for you: First, decide what beverage base you want. In the mood for an milk tea? Basic milk teas offered at QQ include: Original (a black tea), Earl Grey, Jasmine Green, Thai, Honey, Taro, Honeydew, Strawberry, Peach, Mango - and others! Like you could go a little wild and try something more unusual like Avocado, Coconut or Coffee. You can order your drink either iced or hot. It's important to be aware that QQ Teahouse uses 2% milk in their milk teas. If you are lactose intolerant or vegan, choose an iced or hot milk-free tea. NNext decide if you want any toppings. Choices include: * Bubbles (boba) - these are large (1/4 inch) tapioca balls. Boba is awesome in any type of drink. * Pudding - similar to flan, pudding is light yellow in color with a soft texture. It's awesome with milk tea or taro. * Grass Jelly - similar to Jell-O, this is translucent and dark brown/black in color. It's made from herbs and has a very mild herbal taste...like grass. It's great with Jasmine green tea, coffee tea and fruit drinks. * Mixed Jelly - similar to Jell-O, this has a neutral flavor and a soft texture. Came here with a buddy of mine to try it out for the first time. I got the very berry green tea while my buddy got the taro milk tea and popcorn chicken. The interior has ample spacing, so you can get your study on or just hang out with your friends. The very berry had good verry flavor while allowing the green tea flavor to still be pronounced. I tried my buddy's taro milk tea and it was extremely creamy. I loved the mouthfeel i got from it and the boba was cooked perfectly. Perfectly tender while not being mushy. The popcorn chicken was very good. QQ uses dark meat along with white meat for their popcorn chicken. The chicken was extremely moist (check out the photo i took) while the breading wasn't extremely crispy. I would have liked a little more saltiness but overall it was solid popcorn chicken. QQ is a little far for me considering i have two reputable boba places nearby... but whenever i'm in the area, of course i'll stop by. read more

They have this one dessert called the Milky Bun which is a fried pastry drizzled in condensed milk; not bad. As for their drinks, I usually like to order the winter melon boba tea. Very refreshing. Not as heavy as a milk tea. They also have winter melon green tea. Their sizing/pricing for boba tea cups is cheap. A regular is $2.99 and large cup is $3.50. Beware, the large cup might not fit in the car's cup holder so please drive responsibly. Overall, I would return to this place. read more

The tea here is hit or miss. It's not really consistent on flavor or sweetness. I always forget to tell them how sweet I want it so sometimes it ends up being super sweet or not sweet at all. They also serve a pretty good selection of food for a tea shop. I think the restaurant next door is owned by the same person so that probably has a lot to do with it. Most recently I ordered the braised pork dan dan. Surprisingly really good. I was disappointed that the braised pork was like ground pork but I still enjoyed it. Where was this when I grew up in Plano? Perhaps I'm dating myself since I'm now a decade removed from my high school days but I think if I was in that age bracket, I would have loved this place growing up. And even now it's the kind of place I would work from - large spacious area, free wifi and good affordable food/snacks/boba. I only stopped by to work on some stuff and grabbed a popcorn chicken snack. The chicken is good, albeit a bit on the bland side. It's crispy and juicy but could use more five spice salt - either that or the option to make it spicy. Still, not bad. This is a good place to study because the lighting is good, it's usually pretty empty, and they have food and drinks. They do need more outlet plugs though, because the only outlets are located in the back corner in front of 2 high tables and if those are taken then you're out of luck. I usually get the original milk tea with boba, but I tried the orange green tea and it was very refreshing. I do taste artificial flavors especially with their fruit teas, but they're still good. The food, however, is a different story. Their ramen is not authentic at all, and if you get the seafood ramen you only get 4 pieces of seafood in your ramen. Most of their dishes are super oily. I ordered the oya don which is popcorn chicken and fried egg on top of rice, and its soooo oily. The staff there is nice.
