We loved The Alley when we first visited their Austin location, so we were excited to find out they also have a location in Plano. After a satisfying lunch at the food court and some grocery shopping, we were on our way back to San Antonio and made sure to stop by The Alley for our croffle and bubble tea fix. It was a relatively quiet afternoon when we arrived, so we took our time ordering at the kiosk. We prefer using the kiosk because it gives us a chance to make sure our orders are accurate and browse through the different flavors and options we might want to try. After finishing our selections, I was ready to pay when the kiosk suddenly frozen on the payment screen. I tried getting the attention of one of the young ladies at the counter, but unfortunately, she didn't seem interested in helping. In fact, her response and demeanor made me feel like she was annoyed that I was asking for assistance. The young customer she was helping at the cash register actually tried to help me instead, but the kiosk was completely frozen at that point. Thankfully, another young lady at the counter, Wee, noticed what was happening. She approached me with a smile and immediately asked her coworker Caleb (I believe he was the manager) for help. Caleb was great. As soon as he finished what he was doing, he came around the counter and tried to fix the kiosk himself. He remained friendly and calm throughout the whole thing. He also asked Wee to take a picture of the orders displayed on the kiosk so she could ring them up at the register. Luckily, I had taken a screenshot of our order. By this point, more customers had started coming in and the store suddenly became much busier. Despite that, Wee and Caleb continued to be attentive and helpful. Once we received our to-go order, we left happy--not only because the croffles and bubble tea were great, but also because of the customer service and positive interactions we had with Wee and Caleb. They turned what could have been a frustrating experience into a pleasant one. I do want to mention that the other young lady at the cashier wearing the white shirt really stood out for the wrong reasons. Her attitude came across as unnecessarily rude and dismissive, especially when I was simply asking for help with a frozen kiosk. One less star rating for that. Overall, though, Wee and Caleb deserve recognition for their excellent customer service. Thank you both for stepping in, being patient, and making sure we were taken care of. We'll definitely be back whenever we're in the area and craving our The Alley fix! read more

It was our first time at The Alley. We were driving nearby and really wanted some bubble tea and a place to sit and work a bit. This place has every drink you could imagine. I was ecstatic to find a hot drink menu at the cashier. I got a HOT Passionfruit Mango Green Tea, No Sugar and it was perfect because it was just a little nippy outside. The hubs got a Jasmine Green Tea, no sweet, regular ice. He can't have anything with sugar or dairy and it was perfect. The spacing is straight back layout, kind of like an alley. The drinks here are great! I got the Strawberry Green Tea with Jelly, and the ratio of tea and jelly was just right. It isn't too sweet, and you can taste both the strawberry and green tea flavors. My older sister got the Lychee Lemon Sparkling Tea, and it was amazing! It tasted like a citrusy soda with lychee, which is a really nice combination of flavors, and the sparkling water made it even more enjoyable. It's basically like a healthier soft drink. 100% recommend! My younger sister got the Rich Brown Sugar Milk Tea, and since she's lactose-intolerant, she got almond milk. It actually made the tea taste a bit like chocolate! When you drink it, the first taste is chocolately and then it tastes like regular milk tea. Picking an alternative for the milk was also free! If you get this, try choosing a milk alternative to get more unique taste. This place's merchandise is also really cute! They sell tote bags, embroidery badges, plush pillows, water bottles, and even tea bags! Their Demon Slayer merch is also pretty good and you can get a free official collab cup and sticker with one of the Demon Slayer drinks. I was deciding on a boba shop to go near my medical appointment location, then I came across pictures of this colorful boba that looked delicious- Ube Brown Sugar Deerioca Creme Brûlée Milk! I ordered it, and it tasted as good as how artistic it looked! It's very flavorful and thick to my liking. It has actual Creme Brûlée in it, which tasted like homemade. The "Deerioca" is the same as regular tapioca/bubble. They're chewy. Overall it tasted like ube flavored milk. I wish it could also be made into milk tea so it has a tea flavor. Literally so delicious. The drinks overall do tend to fall on the sweeter side at full sugar in my opinion. I ordered the Brown Sugar Deerioca with less cream to reduce the sweetness since my friend already warned that the drink was on the sweeter side. Still a bit on the sweeter side and I think that's probably because the boba itself was pretty sweet to my taste. The Brown Sugar Deerioca was also more on the milky side (as in it tastes like just milk more than brown sugar milk). The Ube drink was really good though! VIBES Very clean vibes. This place seems pretty popular, since it had a lot of customers flowing in. Aesthetically, the inside is cute and bright. They have merch you can purchase. They have a wide variety of drinks from milk tea, fruit teas, to smoothies. They even have seasonal drinks which is nice. I will say I have a few gripes about this place. The first is that they don't have the menu up on their large tv screens. This creates a backlog in line, as people have to decide what they want at the counter. Overall, that's just inefficient. The second is the inconsistencies in charges. For one drink, I did not get charged when requesting for less ice. On another, I was charged 25 cents. Additionally, their menu had the Matcha Brown Sugar Deerioca for 6.45 but I got charged 7.25 for it. I didn't speak up about it, but for what it's worth, they need to either correct the charge or correct the menu. There may be some staffing shortage or what not - both times I've come, there's a lot of people, but an even longer wait. I always tend to wait about 10 minutes for my drink. The staff is friendly, but when ordering I also had to repeat myself multiple times. I'll give leniency though since that person may have been new. Overall, flavor profile of the drink was very yummy. I personally got the Mango Milk Green Tea with less sugar, and it was made perfectly. read more

We wanted to try The Alley because of the good reviews we've heard about the place and this location in Plano was conveniently located to us. Upon walking in, we were greeted with a big open space with not a lot of seating. The worker was nice when we ordered. We ordered a couple of green milk teas with our usual modifications, reduced sugar and optional toppings. And when we tried them, they were both too sweet ‍. There's something about boba tea chains in the US always adding too much sugar to their drinks, and it's incredibly disappointing. We also could taste the tea in our drinks so at least they got that right. Service was fast and we were in and out in about 5 min. The Alley is a C Tier for us, at least for this location. We'd go there if there's nothing else around. We'd be willing to try their Austin location sometime. read more

I decided to try it out of curiosity and love for anything Ube. Now, I have a sweet tooth, but this drink proved to be too much for me! It was overtly sweet for me, and there wasn't a balance between all the components of the drink. I struggled to even drinking past 1/4 of it. They provide a generous amount of toppings and the tea itself was very nice and fragrant, not too sweet too! They also finished having a collaboration with Jujutsu Kaisen, and the Gojo smoothie (basically a coconut smoothie) was soooooo good! I might ask them to just make a coconut smoothie next time. I've been to the NYC location near Bryant Park ( which unfortunately closed down). This location services up the same drinks, the same way! I love that there is consistency between the franchised locations. It is one of the reasons I love McDonalds, you can get a burger anywhere in the world and you know how it'll taste. The Alley is no different at this Dallas location. We got the the Brown Sugar Creme Brulee bubble tea and it is amazing!! sweet, creamy and delicious, this drink is a triple threat to a triple bypass. As a side note, these drinks are sugar/fat bombs. Stay away if you have diabetes. They have some refreshing options but nothing is healthy here. Life is short though, why not grab some full fat bubble tea. read more

You do get some freebies with your purchase though. So, unlike some other The Alley's I've seen on social media, the cups they use at this location are tall and skinny, but the straw isn't long enough, so it made for a rather awkward drinking experience. The drink just needed a bit more sweetness, but my biggest gripe were the toppings. I didn't like the texture of whatever jelly was used on top, although the jelly pieces at the bottom were better. Service was nice and the person (owner?/manager?) was happy to answer any questions I had. I'm happy that they had written descriptions on the kiosk of what the drinks entailed because there was a lot going on from the display pictures themselves lol. I got the orange peach oolong tea last time and it was refreshing! Had real mandarin oranges and lychee pieces (likely from cans but still). This time I got a green milk tea but somehow half sugar is soooo NOT sweet at ALL. Maybe they pressed the wrong sugar level because it definitely felt less than 25%.
