Taro Taro Milk Tea
Erin M.

The reviews were right...this place is good! The taro tea is the best I've had. It has like a coconut taste to it that makes it soooo good. They were quick and the place is nice.

Compared to tea places in Carrollton, this place has drinks that are noticeably cheaper. I liked the strawberry tea because there's actual strawberry syrup and fruit bits, which makes the tea taste quite like strawberries. However, the blueberry green tea was kinda weird. Instead of blueberry flavoring, I swear it tasted like Chinese plum syrup. Other than the color, I'd have no idea that the tea was blueberry. Also, I got the teas at half sweet, and I still thought they were super sweet. Maybe next time I'll ask if 25% sweet is an option

My friend described Meetcha as THE neighborhood boba stop because it has everything that you could ask for and the friendliest service. When I went for the first time, I can definitely see why this would be a go to spot. I got their classic Assam Black Milk Tea with boba, half ice and 75% sugar. And I loved my drink!! There was a really great balance between the tea and the milk creamer flavor. Everything was well mixed together and smooth to drink. I honestly have nothing but good things to say about the tea. The boba was a bit on the chewier side for my preference but aside from that, I enjoyed my drink. The price point was definitely on the cheaper side given the size of the drink. Staff were super friendly and we got our drinks within the first 5-7 minutes of waiting.

I got Okinawa milk tea at 50% sugar. It was really good. You can probably even get by with 25 sugar. My bf got tiger milk tea, and he liked it too. He did not like how the boba tasted though. This place only has 2 small tables so you probably have to do takeout.

After hearing such good things about Meetcha from fellow boba lovers, I decided to give Meetcha a try. I got the taro milk tea. It was a mild flavor and not overpowering like other places. At most tea shops, I have to adjust the sweetness level of my taro milk tea to 50%, but it was the perfect amount of sweet even without me having to adjust the sweetness level. The boba was cooked perfectly, right amount of chewy but not overly soft. Two thumbs up for flavor and quality! This is definitely high up on my list of best boba tea shops in North Dallas! I'm a total fan of Meetcha!

I continue to love this place. She makes the best rose milk tea and the oolong tea is just at the perfect temperature. I absolutely adore the staff and their creations at Meetcha! If you want perfect chewy bobas and plenty of popping boba choices then give it a try

Small taro milk tea ($3.25) with almond milk substitution

My all time favorite bubble tea drink is probably taro milk tea, but not all stores make it right. However, let me tell you I think I've found my new go-to store for my favorite drink! I ordered a small taro milk tea ($3.25) with almond milk substitution and aloe vera, and the taro flavor was so rich I couldn't stop sipping. Hard to believe it was a vegan drink because it was so creamy in my mouth. They got the sweetness just right, and going light on the ice prevents the flavor from being diluted. The staff member who took my order and made my drink was very kind and quick in making my drink. They are also taking COVID precautions seriously with 6ft between the cashier and where you pay and pick up the order. Keep in mind they are currently not accepting cash.

This place has been here for about 6 years now and it's a go to place for me and my partner. They are smaller and family owned. They have a couple of tables and games for you and your friends to hang out while enjoying tea. Their decor is nice and music is lively. My go to is their Hokkaido milk tea with lychee jelly. No other place makes it the same and I really enjoy it here. They're always staffed well so I never have to wait long for their drinks. My favorite part of Meetchas is their reasonable pricing. No other place near me has prices this affordable. Their drinks start at $3.25 and I can sometimes get 2 drinks here for the price I pay for 1 elsewhere. 10/10 would recommend!

I think this is one of the few locations in the Dallas area which enforces complete covid restrictions. Passion fruit tea is a little sweeter than our liking (maybe because of the mango jelly). Thai milk tea is delicious. I would definitely be back for Thai tea and maybe try different fruit combos. Parking can get tricky as there are many restaurants and stores around. Overall a decent place for your teas and boba.

Strawberry lemonade and tiger milk tea. Both with boba.

Their boba was perfect. Flavor was amazing on my teas. Maybe a bit too sweet but that's EVERY boba place around. I need to ask for half sweet.

Pleased to meetcha

You can be the student, I'll be the TEACHER If you're drifting out to sea, I'll be the one to REACH YA If you wanna worship me, I can be your PREACHER But if you want Bubble Tea, come and check out MEETCHA If you wanna make a movie, my D can be the FEATURE If you want it like an animal, I'm a CREATURE If you wanna get worshipped, I always wanna EAT YA But if you want Bubble Tea, come and check out MEETCHA If Trump remains the President, can I be the IMPEACHER And Barbie's cheer captain, you're sitting on a BLEACHER If you were Tom Cruise, then you'd tell her she COMPLETES YA But if you want a good Boba, come along to MEETCHA WHAT! Pleased to Meetcha! Hope you guessed my name! This is a really cute little bubble tea shop with a super friendly owner. They have never been really busy on any of the occasions that we have been in here. Their bubble tea is good. Definitely not great, but we have to explore them a little more so that maybe we will find some drinks that are truly spectacular and worthy of the five star rating that the nice little cozy shop and wonderful owner are clearly worthy of. From what we've had so far, I'd probably give these drinks 4 stars to be honest, but since the woman was so friendly, it's a little local place, Dallas Boba standards are nowhere near those of Cali, NYC, and Houston, and (as you can see) because we had such a nice time in here with Barbie's sparkly yellow shoes, then I lean towards five stars. But more than that, I lean towards Barbie. Always. And if your Daddy has a belt buckle, he might BEAT YA And if your Brother works as a Doorman, he might GREET YA And if he's a restaurant host, he might SEAT YA But if you want Boba, then you should go to MEETCHA And Barbie dates lots of boys, so date her and she'll CHEAT YA And if you're jelly and you come at her on Social MEDIA Or if you get too thirsty then she'll just DELETE YA But if you want a yummy Boba, get yourself to MEETCHA And if you're funny like John Oliver then she might TWEET YA And if you end up dating her, I know she'll be DISCRETE YAH And I know how she likes it, just pump like a dance BEAT YAH And when you're done I'll Meetcha for a Boba Tea at MEETCHA And if you have no money, then she'll tease you with her FEET YAH And if you have enough then she'll give you lots of TREATS YAH And if you have a ton of money, then she might EXCRETE YAH And you'll love it more than the drinks you had at MEETCHA WHAT (And one of these days I'll make sure she gets ELITE, YAH)

Small mom and pop shop (support the locals). In the area and wanted to try a new boba shop. After briefly searching on yelp and reading plenty of reviews, we decided on this new discovery! I'm super glad we stopped by because I've finally found the best jasmine green milk tea, I've ever had (in Dallas and Boston to be exact). It was rich with jasmine tea flavor but creamy and smooth (not the watered down, bs crap (you occasionally get at random boba tea places). The only downside was, they were out of boba. It would take an extra 30 minutes (but we couldn't wait it out with groceries in the car) so we skipped out. Plano isn't a close drive but I would certainly come back to try the other boba milk teas or perhaps a smoothie or two.

Add-ons

Tried twice. The first time we waited quite awhile for our teas, and mine was decent enough that I wanted to try Meetcha another time, but my family member mentioned something was wrong with the boba (she loves boba and gets it at various tea places). Not a fan of boba, myself. The second time I went on my own, and the drinks I ordered weren't made correctly, as in they had an ingredient in them that I specifically requested left out and I received a confirmation that it WOULD be left out. I was on the clock so to speak to make it to an appointment, though I'd set aside up to 15 minutes to wait on the drinks to be made, and I waited exactly that long, and I simply did not have time to wait for remakes. They refunded me with cash, though I would have preferred to the credit card I used for the payment for various reasons. And I was late to the appointment. Sigh. Thankfully my healthcare provider was chill. While I do recommend everyone give Meetcha a chance from the pros I'm about to list, I caution everyone that wait times can be very long (my favorite place is Fat Straws at various locations, and even when busy you never wait long, probably due to them having a larger team and already having some teas pre-brewed? I'm not familiar with what it takes to run these milk tea places, so I honestly can't compare and it's likely unfair of me to have similar expectations amongst all of them). Pros: -Freshly brewed tea -Non dairy choice OTHER than the nasty bad-for-health soy-based non dairy creamer, in this case it is Almond milk, but they don't recommend it for all drinks-- I'd recommend they look into a higher fat coconut milk if they need a good "fatty" mixer for the drinks that only dairy or soy based hydrogenated creamer can currently mix. I again prefer Fat Straws because of more variety for non dairy milks. -Sweetness Level control: another important aspect. Many people want a less sweet drink, and places like Fat Straws got that message, and Meetcha understands it, too. They do the basic 0/25/50/75/100, and I overheard they will offer extra sweet to those who ask. -Multiple menu items: Milk teas, fruit teas, and more CONs: -Long waits -Didn't double check order before making -Can't refund by original method? I think, with the variety of flavors, customization, and products offered, people will be happy here. I'm not close enough to make the trip regularly, and may have seen them at a bad moment. I understand from overhearing a conversation that they are an absolute neighborhood favorite, and there was a variety of age groups popping in and very happy.

Unfortunately I didn't particularly enjoy my experience here…read more We were first time customers and thus wanted to go in the lobby to get some help ordering, but it was closed. We went around to the drive through and were met by someone who seemed to want to rush us through the ordering process ASAP. We felt a little pressured to choose quickly even though I would've wanted to discuss more options. I got a blended Coke with vanilla cream, and I hate to say it just isn't good somehow. It tastes mostly of water and the Coke in it is completely flat, not slushified like a slurpee. I've actually tossed it because it didn't feel worth drinking if it didn't taste good. We also got the small cookies, and I do find them good, chewy, and you get a lot of them for the price. I guess I did expect them to be warm, though, and they were actually cold like they'd just come out of a fridge. My bf got an on-menu drink and finds it enjoyable, especially the grapefruit flavoring. Overall though, I could get this drink much much better at Sonic without the slushie texture for like $1.50 and much closer to my home, and I think I'll continue to do so. This just wasn't worth it for me.
