Tried the carnitas torta based on these reviews...one word..AWESOME!

After reading some of the reviews on Yelp, I was super excited to check this place out. Maybe I got my expectations a little too high because I wasn't as impressed as I was hoping to be. I had the asada torta and my girlfriend orders the chicken taquitos. The torta wasn't bad but no where close to what some of these reviews were raving about. Been eating here for years and this place has gone down hill a bit. Drive thru was horrible and the food was average... Not great not horrible. It's just a dive now and really dirty. A little TLC might get me back there read more

Nothing negative to add about this place. Been going here since I can remember. Parking does get packed so time accordingly.

I do like this place but it doesn't live up to the 5's out there. Tortas are great with awesome soft bread. Carnitas taste ok but the texture didn't work for me. Chopped not pulled and a bit dry. The asada was pretty much the same. Tasty but dry chewie meat. The best one we had was the adovada. It was flavorful and moist. I do recommend getting their sopes here. With the right meat combination it can't be beat. Fresh home made shells and they are huge. Worth a visit but not if you have to travel far. read more

My wife introduced me to this place and I was a little skeptical at first, but went along with it & I'm glad I did. Best Chile Verde burrito ever. When we lived in SD she would visit her sister in here in OC. One time before she came home she brought me a Chile Verde burrito. I couldn't have been happier, and even though that burrito traveled for 2 hours it was still very delicious. Highly recommend. Enjoy. read more

I have decided to make it my mission to try every taco spot within walking distance to my house. Yesterday I went to Q-Tortas. Glad I did too! So here is the story, from outside it looks like shit. Super hole in the wall. Go in and it is alright. I did like the coke pictures on the wall. Nice slice of Americana. Anyhoo I got three carne asada tacos with the expectation that they were going to be what I have affectionately termed 3 bite tacos. You know with the corn tortilla the size of your palm and you are done in 2-3 bites. They were a $1.40 each. Not to shabby of a price. I also ordered chips and guacamole. Now I am not sure why the cashier felt the need to inform me it was guacamole and not avocado sauce. If i wanted avocado sauce I would have went to El Pollo Loco. i said guacamole I know what I am ordering -_- . Anyhoo total came out to about 6 bucks and then I saw they had orange bang so I got a medium one. I drove home (yes I said walking distance but I cam straight from work. I promise I am not that lazy). So I get home and taco my items out of the bag and here is my reaction: 1. Omg my straw is a bendy straw... no spills! 2. Omg these are not three bite tacos. *takes a bite* omg this is effing delicious!!!! Yummy carne, the salsa they put on top really accentuates flavor and then the roja salsa just completed the bite. 3. Guacamole was ok a tad bit bland so i jazzed it up by mixing in the roja salsa and suddenly it was delicious! Yes i realize i just said omg quite a few times but that is what I say when I really like something! Don't come expecting good service but do come for yummy tasting food! read more

The carnitas tortas are worth the drive. Burritos, especially the carnitas, are outstanding. They have some stiff competition up and down the street in their Old Town Placentia location, but they stack up well with anybody. Sit down and walk up service makes this place a must try. read more

I have been coming here for at least 15 years. Drove by today to get a carnitas burrito and it was CLOSED. There was a sign on the building that the building was unsafe. Very sad. :( I hope they open in another location. read more

I grew up eating the carnita tortas at this place. The bollio is soft, filled with the perfect amount of refried beans, loads of meat and a touch of Pico de gallo. Try the tortas, it's what they're famous for. Bean & cheese burritos are really good. I always get a chicken flauta but the guacamole is different now...try it with red salsa instead. This place is a Hidden Gem.. Very small dining area, drive thru, outdoor seating.. Prices are very reasonable for quality food. If you come here you have to order a torta. I ordered mine with carne asada and everything on it which consisted of your normal pico de gallo and chopped jalapenos which were on point! Ordered this up with a side of tacos and I will keep coming back all the way from Covina! Keep up the great service and food guys.. Food was definitely sub-par. Hubby was craving a carne asada torta so we thought we'd try it out. The menu doesn't give you an ingredient list for each item, but luckily my husband asked what comes on the torta: bare minimum. Even cheese was extra. The meat was boring. No flavor. Beef burrito was literally only beef and beans. I ordered hard shell tacos and on my second bite I was surprised I bit into beans.... that's right filler so there was less meat. Best thing was the chicken in the taco. The flavor was decent. Customer service was ok. They weren't rude but it wasn't great. I would not recommend. read more

Discovered this place due to the great reviews of others on Yelp and am glad I tried them. Have been there three times now and loved it. This is real Mexican food. I mean REAL Mexican food. The carnitas crispy tacos were really good along with the tostadas and carne asada torta. Yes, the building itself is nothing to look at and the menu IS a little confusing but the food is so worth it! If you are having a get-together and want some really good chips and salsa, call them to order in advance and it will be ready for you - the chips fresh and warm. I get lots of compliments from my guests when I serve their chips and salsa. WAY better than buying store brand chips! read more

Just had lunch at this place and I think they should change their name from Q Torta to Q Nasty Torta. This is not authentic Mexican food. I had two tacos dorados with carne asada and half of the carne was chewy. For a minute there I thought I was chewing bubble gum. Im just now preparing my alka-Seltzer. YUK!!! I've been wanting to try this place for awhile since my girlfriend moved to Placentia 2 yrs ago. There are plenty of parking spaces available at the back. Inside the eatery, it's outdated but clean. We ordered a chorizo burrito, chicken taco, beef taco, and flan. The chorizo w/egg burrito hits right at the spot. It reminds me the one I used to get from a roach-coach @ my old work place. The chicken taco is mixed with tomato, full of flavor. The beef taco isn't what you will get from Taco Bell. This is authentic street taco. Now the flan didn't impress me. It tastes like the one you can buy from the supermarket. I was hoping for a more milky flavor but it's pretty bland. Overall, it's a nice place for a quick grab. read more
