I dipped into this salon a few days ago when I was in the area. It is rather nondescript, small, and no frills and could probably use a bit of a makeover to help the ambiance. That said, they got the job done! I had a spa pedicure and the technician was quick, gentle, and thorough. Prices were mid-range - not cheap but not expensive. I recently visited Trish for a nail appointment, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. While she was friendly and enjoyed sharing stories, her attitude toward my requests left me uncomfortable. When I showed her a few designs I was interested in, she brushed them off and said it was "too early for a fall design," which came across as dismissive and a bit snobby. As a customer, I expected my preferences to be respected, not minimized. The quality of the service was also far below professional standards. At the very beginning, when she was removing the old gel design, she used the bur tool so aggressively that I felt a burning sensation from the friction. One of my nail beds is now bruised because of this, which should never happen during a professional manicure. The gel application that followed was no better -- the cure buildup was crooked and uneven, with bulky, thick spots on several nails. She was not clean in her technique, and the overall finish looked sloppy and unpolished. Although she was personable, the combination of poor technique, lack of attention to detail, dismissive attitude, and physical discomfort made this a very unsatisfactory and unpleasant experience. They can improve on knowing how to handle a simple gel removal pedicure, lady who helped me used the drill to take off the previous gel polish and was being rough and just not very hospitable to their paying customers. Yes it's cheaper but I'd rather spend more to get a decent pedicure. I left after she took off didn't trust her to finish. Definitely won't be coming back. I'm never one to walk out or leave an establishment or even leave a review. Invest your money elsewhere. read more

Service was good and the ladies are very sweet. However, if you have more of an intricate design, maybe try the shop next door. My design looked awesome in the shop but as soon as I walked out I realized they weren't as pretty as I thought! I had 2 broken nails and got them fixed, as well as a fill. I had a design picked out and they said they could do it (yay!) But it definitely isn't what I thought it would be. I even have splotches of previous colors on my nails because the design wasn't done right :( I really wanted to like them but I keep looking at my nails and it doesn't even look like a fresh set. :( It's very upsetting. It's especially annoying that the 2 broken nails I had (that she fixed) are a completely different shape than the others! I definitely wanna go back and give them a second chance with a simpler design! :-) Update: I came in, a day later (they're closed Mondays), and Trish seemed annoyed with having to fix my ridiculous nails lol. She seemed frustrated and said she would fix them as a "favor" but said I couldn't get a design. I paid $80 just 2 days earlier for an intricate design and now she can't even fix it??? She offered to fix the nails that were "messed up" but they were all messed up and ugly... Anyways, I ended up going with a basic color since that was all I was gonna be able to get. I have a precocious but sweet 2.5 year old and risked social ostracism by taking her for a pedicure so I could indulge myself in self care. We came in first thing on Monday morning in hopes of missing any crowds. Anna was absolutely wonderful with Charlotte, adjusting her water, talking to her, and giving her hugs to keep her calm even as I was only a few feet away. Anna was so careful and cautious, explaining details to Charlotte all the way through her pedicure. Afterwards she adorned her little toenails with flowers. As I was finishing up my services, Trish asked if she could paint Charlotte's finger nails pink. Charlotte was elated for some more attention and happily sat still. It was so wonderful to come into a community establishment and feel a sense of family. Everyone was so kind and good-natured towards my daughter, and I will come back simply for this love. read more

I've been coming to this salon recently and I always love how my nails turn out. I recommend Leanne for acrylic full sets. She is fast but attentive to detail. The staff is very friendly and kind. They do accept walk-ins, but I would recommend you make an appointment because sometimes they get really busy. A full set costs $27 and fills $17. They charge an additional $10 for gel. read more

We went two hours before closing and got sat down right away when there was only one other employee on the floor but sat in the massage chair for 30 min before someone came out of the back to start on me. More customers came in and they told them to have a seat and they would be with them soon, after another 40 min they told the one customer that waited "sorry were closing". Poor lady left confused. This place is small but gets the job done. I really like how they accommodate me last minute and get my nails done quickly and neatly. They always chuckle when I want my nails short but it's cause long nails get in the way of me working quickly... And plus, it's more hygienic Parking is street parking or in the Von's parking lot. If you don't want the spa pedicure, you have to specify or they will automatically sit you in the spa pedicure seat. Go late if you're going on Saturday. I went there yesterday and that was my last time. There is only one acrylic nail tech, Trish, and she is usually really good. I have referred friends and family members here in the past but since the price increase and drop in quality, it's a no for me! Trish cut me yesterday with one of the tools and made no mention of it! Not even an apology! I know she saw it because I was bleeding when I got to my car. I paid $104, for a full set w/ clear gel and gel pedicure. I don't think the prices are consistent across all customers, and some customers get treated better than others When I was there another customer was able to barter the price for eyebrow waxing...I didn't know you could do that!! The prices are so cheap too! $10 regular mani $15 for a pedi $22 mani and pedi $20 gel mani I was so happy with the result. They don't speak English very well and might come off as rude... They use to do an adequate job on my nails, for the price. But In March I went there before my cruise to get my nails done. They lasted four days before, one by one they began to pop off. I notice she was skipping steps when she was doing my nails, like the first one where you apply the sticky coat to adhere to the nail. I live in Upland so for me to drive out to Monrovia to get my eyelashes done speaks volumes and they last a while. Note to anyone that is not familiar with eyelash extensions they are PRICEY! and you must always get a full new set when dealing with the different Salons... in other words you are S.O.L if you are out of town and need to have a refill done... most places will not do refills for first time customers full set only and the range is generally anywhere from $80.00 and up. The hours posted here on Yelp are incorrect they open at 9:00am except for Sunday then they open at 10:00am. Today I went in for refills and it was near empty... but not so when I left. I am so happy I happened to walk by here and notice that, Trish, the new owner was running this shop! She was my go-to nail lady for about 6 years when she worked for another salon and now here she is running her own place! My heart sings! I am very picky about my acrylics and Trish always does them just the way I like them. Anna is my favorite pedicurist. She is very thorough and always a pleasure to do business with. Went here to get a full set and was very specific with a picture I showed the lady. Short, almond shape with just plain pink polish. She started Doug coffin nails on me and at one point started to cut a part of my pinky off. Then they over filed my nails that it's so tender it hurts and I have a few cuts all around my cuticles. She was so rough. The lady must not have been able to do my simple design so another lady had to finish. It took them an hour and a half without any wait. Very disappointed with painful fingers. I accompanied a friend who needed a mani/pedi before our dinner meet-up. This wasn't in my things to do, but I thought, what the hell, may as well tag along. I see by the reviews that this apparently is under new management or ownership. The first thing that struck me was how small it was and the lack of luxury that other pedicure places have to try to lure you in. There were three pedicure chairs with massage capabilities,but no jet spa for the feet. Which is fine by me. It seems a bit cleaner with a bucket brought to me with a fresh plastic bag around it for cleanliness. As my feet soaked, i peered around the place and while it is a bit worn for wear, it was clean. I craned my neck around to look in corners after reading some of the older reviews and I can say it lacked beauty, but it was clean. I had Trish care for my feet and she did a good job and put some flower artwork on my toes. While it may lack luxury and beauty, and size, it was cheaper than other places I have been to and Trish was very nice and got the job done. If you are not looking for champagne glasses, modern decor, and jet spas, then I think this is a suitable and A-OK place for quick, friendly, economical pedicure service. read more

I don't think I've ever been more disappointed from a Nail salon. The reason why this place has any high ratings are because they're so much cheaper than other places in the area. Sorry but I think I'll be paying extra for better service. There's a sign saying "walk ins welcome" sure, you're welcomed if you're willing to wait 30-45 mins. Trish did my nails, and wow was it a mess. It's uneven , bumpy and she cut me on 3 fingers. Did she feel bad? Absolutely not! She kept filing over my cut areas and I kept flinching and pulling my hand away. She kept looking away like she's the one irritated. It took over 4 days for the cuts to close. And all the workers seem to be miserable and with an attitude. Very tense and frustrating environment. I much rather avoid this location. read more

This is a review for eyelash extension only. I decided to give Trish a try when I saw a customer getting eye lash extensions while I was getting my nails done. I was very excited to find a local eye lash extension place here in Monrovia. However, I'm sorry to report Trish doesn't now how to do eyelash extensions properly. While most extension places know the importance of one extension per lash to create the natural look and protect your natural lashes, Trish seems like to putting on clusters of extensions on top of each other, on a single lash (see photo). I felt my extensions were stiff as soon as they were done, as soon as they start falling out (in chunks), I realized what was going on. Don't get your extensions here unless you want the very stiff "falsies" look, and definitely don't do your extensions here if you want to protect your natural lashes! read more

My first few visits were okay. I mean, how can you beat a $20 gel manicure? However, over time I noticed that they do not sanitize their tools properly. They always changes the pricing on me (such as callus remover or nail design; sometimes it is $3 and sometimes it is $5...) and they do not respect your time.
