After calling many salons, I decided to settle with Urbane Nail Care because it seemed to be the cheapest gel manicure in the Monrovia area ($30). Since it is situated north of Myrtle, there is limited parking and you may have to park at vons. It's safe to say you'll find a color you'll like because they had so many options to choose from. My tech was Thu and she was so sweet! She was patient with my nails as she filed and painted them. I was so happy with how they turned out especially because there were no bumps at all. read more

Chelsey at the front desk is always so helpful and friendly. I'm very picky about my nails and have had Monique, Emily, Lynn and now Tammy work on me. Tammy suggested I try out hard gel and I am extremely pleased! I always get acrylic done as that's what I'm used to. I've never had my natural nails this long before and truly appreciate when nail techs genuinely care about your nail health. She was gentle, kind and informative. This is hands down the best nail shop I have ever been to. The girls here provide top-tier nail care and truly care about their clients. Diana and Lynn are amazing--they take their time, pay attention to every detail, and make sure you are 100% satisfied with the final result. Chelsea, the lady at the front desk is HORRIBLE. I got my nails done and noticed I got contact dermatitis from the gel polish touching my skin. I called and let them know about it and Chelsea asked me to come back so they can take a look at it. They only wanted to give me a refund if they remove my nails and not because of what they caused. She was so rude about it. I didn't have the time to remove them right then and there and said I was coming back. She then said that if I don't do it right now she wasn't going to refund me later only give me store credit. She was beyond rude. And you can clearly see the contact dermatitis on my skin. read more

First time client and unfortunately, I got a nail tech by the name of Queenie. I've never experienced such bad customer service in my entire life. As soon as I sat down, she grabbed my hands without saying hi or without introducing herself. She didn't ask me my name, she would sigh a lot like she didn't wanna be there, and she tried to overcharge me at the end. She rushed through the whole service, my nails are uneven and thick. At the end, when I asked why I was charged more it was because two nails were lifted. Then she stormed off upset because I asked a question. I will never return again. I found this hidden gem waiting for traffic to calm down as I live over 50 miles away and this is now my go to nail place! Everyone is very sweet and supportive. They are nice when you first come in but if you have any issues with your nails DO NOT expect good customer service. They will also ask you to write a review as soon as you're done with the service... so I wouldn't fall for all the great reviews.. just fyi. Run from this place. The Pros: It was super easy to get the desired appointment day/time that I needed. The price was incredible, $30 for a gel mani and $25 for a basic pedi. WOW! They offer a wide selection of nail polish options, both gel and regular. It was FAST! I was in/out in 45-minutes. The Cons: They do not do a massage. It's more of just lightly (and quickly) rubbing on some lotion, not even fully rubbing it in. (Although I only requested a basic gel mani/basic pedi.) The pedicure water was lukewarm at best. The overall mani/pedi was just OK. There wasn't anything that stood out. It was just fast and done. The place could use a good scrubbing. The tools were taken out of autoclaved bags, and the pedicure tub was lined with a plastic insert, so it was clean enough, but the floors/baseboard and store itself was not the cleanest. Overall: I would probably come back to give them another try in the future if I really needed a fast appointment. Maybe with a different technician. All in all, it wasn't bad. It just wasn't anything super exciting either. For the price, I really cannot complain, but I wanted to leave an honest review. read more

I have made an appointment at this place 3 different times. waited for more than an hour even with an appointment and this last time is literally the last time. Asked me to sit in back of the shop to literally not get acknowledge that I'm still sitting there waiting. My gel mani pedi just ended up being a pedi because I had somewhere to be. My appointment was at 5:15 arrived at 5:10 was asked to sit in one of the seats in the back at 5:45 foot didn't get touched until 6:15. I came in as a walk-in because my original place was booked for the week. But I honestly regret it. I'm happy they were able to squeeze me in and very appreciative, but I felt not only the service from one of the nail techs (Fiona) was not the best but the application and attention-to-detail too. Front desk was pleasant though. My nails previously had blue French tips and I showed an inspo pic to the nail tech of what I wanted. Then, told me powder was extra and I decided not to get it. I was given a pink nude color and even though I asked if the color would change, nail tech said not to worry about it. The shape I wanted was square round and I got square. Although I asked for it to be corrected, nail tech said she would correct it at the end. She also appeared to struggle with the hearts that I wanted. When I asked about the powder application to try to save the look, she said it was too late and she did let me try it. But it still didn't match even the slightest bit and we took it off. So she can be accommodating to changes, but I don't know if it actually reflected what I wanted. AND when she lotioned my hands at the end, she told me that my hands were soft and said it seemed like I didn't do much at home. Whatever I do at home is my business and not really hers. If I take care of my hands and they're soft, great lol. But please don't tell me it seems like I don't do much at home. Either way, I still left a tip but I wasn't happy with my nails and I'll be going somewhere else to correct it. read more

Been coming here for a very long time as a local Monrovian have to say that these ladies accommodate you to any time. I used to work down the street at a restaurant and got out really late. I would just call and let them know and she would wait for me until I would get there. The stuff is amazing. I just went for an appointment and I got in there at 8:30 and left at 11 PM but I appreciate them so much. Super clean recommended. There is parking in the back if you don't find it on the street. They have a wide variety of colors and they do great designs. They also do powder dip, which is great for us ladies who want to keep our natural nails. read more

Jasmine got back to me right away and set up my appointment. I arrived and found great parking right in front. The salon smelled great and was very clean. Jasmine was friendly and made me feel comfortable with the experience and it was less painful than other places I've been in the past. I love the convenience of being able to take care of this on my lunch break instead of on a weekend or in the evening after work so it all worked out great. And her pricing is also very reasonable.
