    Sesame Ice Cream

I went as part of a group of 4 for dinner. We shared some tempura shrimp, salmon, and dumplings to start. The tempura shrimp was delicious! As a main, I got katsu pork and it was delicious and a good size. I didn't even eat the rice that came with it. The presentation was also beautiful. I tried my husband's ramen, and really enjoyed the flavors in that dish as well. We finished with sesame ice cream, which was served on a very cute fish dish. We also had some Yuzu Honey tea, which was a lovely addition to the meal. Splitting a pot between two worked well, but it could also be easily finished by one. We were catching up with friends and the servers were very attentive and didn't rush us out when we were chatting after the meal.

A very good ramen! Went for a late lunch on Sunday. We got seated quickly and the service was quick the whole time. Everything was very well cooked and flavorful! The seasoning on top of the tofu was my favorite part!

Stopped by for a quick meal before a show at ppac; first time at pvd noodle. Its a very small place, not a lot of tables. Mostly bar style seating, you might end up between strangers with little space. The wait staff is friendly and quick. I asked for suggestions on something that would be ready quick since i was heading to a show. I got the pvd chicken ramen, big bowl, tasty and warm. Not only does it come with a skewer of chicken but it also had pieces of chicken in the broth. Will def go back to try other items.

Delightful dinner with hubby at PVD Noodle Bar with the new summer menu! My favorite appetizer, agedashi tofu, is sadly off the menu for the time being but I tried a bunch of fishies - mackerel, shrimp, smelts & salmon tataki. Hubby went with his favorite: PVD Chicken Ramen & kicked it up into a highly spicy version! We tried the Yuzu Pilsner (good but we don't need to order again) & the matcha ice cream (YUMMM!). They changed their hours so no lunch service but now are open every night for dinner except Wednesday. NOM NOM NOM

Never disappointed with the food at PVD Noodle Bar. Their Agedashi Tofu is literally the ONLY tofu I will eat... in fact, I actually crave it sometimes. They have an assortment of starters, all delicious, and both cold and hot noodle dishes for every taste. They also have add-ons, like tempura shrimp, to elevate your meal. Dessert consists of two types of ice cream, black sesame seed or green matcha. They serve sake and and have a relatively large cocktail list. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity of food received. Service is always good. The restaurant is cozy and their serving dishes are beautiful. I would like to see a larger selection of wine, as they currently only serve Prosecco.

Their chicken ramen was really yummy and comforting on a cold day, but what really impressed me was their dessert!

Had to try this place. I have read the Yelp reviews and it is so close to PPAC. My wife and I decided to have dinner before the show. We had no reservation but we sat at the bar around 6 PM on a Saturday. I will say the conclusion first - I definitely recommend the Sumo Katsudon. As the name suggests, the portions are huge. I was able to finish only half of it. The rest became my lunch the next day. The presentation is interesting and new twist to a popular classics you find in Japan. The next time here, I will try other dishes. The katsudon dish came with a big portion of thick cut, very tender pork cutlet, served over egg brown sauce and rice. The presentation was similar to "omu rice" you find in a restaurant in Japan, where seasoned rice is wrapped inside omelette, sits in a shallow bath of brown sauce. Perhaps, that is where the inspiration for the Sumo Katsu came from. I think it is a clever and great presentation. The only thing that subtracted from the perfect 5 was the condiments on the side. I was not wild about the grape tomatoes, pickled onion and some sort of chimi. Those condiments came with every dish - sort of shame because we did not like them. My wife had the chicken ramen. The broth was very flavorful with lots of umami, but the noodle was so so in my opinion. This is just my personal preference to have Sapporo style noodles. Some folks I am sure will like the noodle that came with this ramen. One thing I did expect and I am not sure if it worked - the chicken was presented to us like yakitori in a skewer. Also, the toppings were on separate demi dish. I guess if you want to pick and choose which toppings you want, it is clever presentation, but inconvenient when you just want to dig in and slurp your noodles. It is a tight space and hard to get a table on weekends. Plan ahead.

Last Providence food review for a while, but I had a blast going to Providence Noodle Bar located at 187 Mathewson St, Providence, RI 02903. For a cocktail, we tried their Strawberry Seoul ($8.00) . It includes Rooibos Tea, Vanilla Bean Syrup, Lemon Juice, Strawberry Purée, Ginger Ale, and Soju. You can choose your sweetness level: low, medium, or high. It's also available as a mocktail. I loved how refreshing this was! For food, we got the Ika Ponzu Salad ($7.00) . It features blanched calamari, edamame, marinated cherry tomato, pickled red onion, cilantro, spring mix salad, ponzu sauce, and yuzu kosho. Everyone loved this dish--an easy 10/10. We tried their spicy scallion noodles --these were sooooo good! I need to know where to buy these types of noodles. Easily the star dish, 10/10. We got to try their PVD Chicken Ramen ($16.00) . It includes confit chicken, ramen noodles, chicken karaage skewer, house-made shoyu chicken broth, onsen egg, scallion onion, wood ear mushroom, toasted seaweed, and spicy miso paste. Loved the ramen, and the chicken was delicious. 9/10. We had their Chashu Don --pork belly chashu served over rice with spicy shichimi aioli, lemon, and pickled ginger as sides. The pork literally glistened and had amazing flavor. 9/10. Finally, we got to try their soba noodles . Loved this, and the broth had great flavor. 8/10. This is an awesome spot, and it's also not very expensive. If you are in the mood and need to fulfill your noodle cravings, check it out! Overall: Food: 10/10 Affordability: 8/10 Ambiance: 8/10

Ramen: Absolutely delicious! 5/5 for the ramen:) the chicken was moist and tender and the broth was decadent. Tofu: not our favorite unfortunately. The slab of tofu was too thick and do the dish was a little soggy. Fried chicken app: very good and we enjoyed the sauces! Service: always excellent and very friendly staff! Ambience: small but cozy restaurant:) a hidden gem!

You college kids are super lucky. This place knocks it out of the park every time I go. Get the chicken ramen to warm you up on a cold day. Quality is actually so damn good - probably the best chicken ramen I've had. If you are super hungry like me, get some extra noodles, it's gonna be a lot of food but who complains about walking out of a place "full". Just come here and try the food. Service and ambiance was amazing.

Was walking by and stopped in for dinner. Food was amazing and service was nice and fast. Fried chicken app was the best and the pork katsu was insane.

Decent noodle bar in the heart of Providence, Pvd Noodle Bar offers a lot of different noodles. LOCATION: Street parking only with a few garages close by, Pvd is located in a quiet side street but easy to find. SPACE: A cozy restaurant with a few tables and bar seating. There is a large table for either large groups or serves as a table to share with other small parties. MENU: As the restaurant name suggests, they offer many noodle dishes; from soba to udon to ramen. There are also a few apps as well! FOOD: I ordered the udon with egg and shrimp tempura. The udon was too hard for liking - I think they needed to cook it 30 seconds longer. My partner liked his spicy scallion noodles. My favorite part of the meal was the marinated egg so I highly recommended adding that to any dish. For apps, we went with the potato croquette and it was very flavorful. THOUGHTS: Decent food and great vibes! I've had better udon but would definitely come back to try other noodle dishes. The chicken ramen seemed very popular!

We were sadly in a rush and had to be out by a certain time to catch a show, and our server understood the assignment and got us out on the tight schedule we needed. I'm just sad I had to slurp down my soup so quickly as it was absolutely DELICIOUS! I ordered the Snow Mountain Ramen - the creamy tofu broth is unlike anything I've had and was so so unique and delicious. I thought about it for at least a week straight after eating it and am still dying to go back to get more. I also got the Iced Rose Matcha drink - $10 felt too pricy for this but I wanted a fun drink and a little caffeine kick - and again the flavors were unique and tasty. Both my friend and I happened to see someone we knew here - it's definitely a popular spot! It was packed on a Saturday night but it was still pretty quick for us to get a table for 2. Being a downtown city restaurant, the tables feel a bit cramped and I was a little too close to the table next to me for comfort - claustrophobics beware (honestly the soup is worth it though!!) Parking is pretty easy in the lot, although Holy crap they need to fix the potholes / harsh drop-off where it meets the street, and it still was not fully plowed many weeks after the big snowstorm (it's a shared lot so not a Y Noodle specific issue, but just saying). The only thing that was unpleasant were the bathrooms - I get it was a busy weekend night, but they reeked of a litter box the second you stepped in, the floor was dirty and very wet with unknown substances, and the Dyson hand dryer is at such a weird, too high level on the wall that it sprayed water in my face. Everything else was a dream, can't wait to go back! Hopefully the bathrooms were just a fluke.

Not pictured was the tonkatsu meal and my pork belly buns (appetizer for meal). I drank the beer+soju pairing which was good. I never had soju before today. It tasted like apple liquor. I wish that our server had communicated that food comes out as it is ready. My meal came out 10 minutes before everyone else's which is awkward. Although this isn't fine dining, I find a sporadic placement of food to be strange because I sat with my food in front of me waiting for everyone else's. Service is not necessarily friendly, but they are attentive.

We began with spring rolls (VERY good - chicken and shrimp) and sake, and the sake program deserves special mention. We selected a very enjoyable $38 bottle and noticed several other bottles at lower price points, along with a wide selection of canned sake--many around $11. Some diners may balk at paying that much for a can, but they will happily pay more for a mediocre glass of wine at half the volume. The value here is actually quite good, especially for those looking to explore sake beyond the ordinary. Our entrées--the ramen and chicken katsu--were excellent. The ramen featured a rich, deeply satisfying broth, while the chicken katsu was perfectly crisp on the outside and tender within. If you want a "hotter " ramen - the have an add on for a buck. Service was warm and attentive, reflecting the pride that often comes with a family-owned business. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, allowing the quality of the food to take center stage. Bristol is fortunate to have Sakuratani. Strong Japanese dining options can be hard to find outside larger cities, and for a restaurant only a year old, they seem to be doing many things right. We look forward to returning and exploring more of their menu--and their sake offerings. Highly recommended.

Very silky, some crunch, and the dashi sauce was well balanced. We then ordered tonkotsu ramen as our entree, and let me tell you I was not disappointed. After trying numerous ramens, specifically tonkotsu, this rated 2nd under my first favorite place. The creamy, rich broth was balanced, the noodles were bouncy (maybe homemade?), and the toppings were all good! Personally I am not a fan of thick pieces of pork chashu, so just keep that in mind when ordering that meat topping. Otherwise, excellent! Service: it was pretty slow so we got in immediately. Our waiter was very nice and took care of our table promptly. Atmosphere: it's definitely darker in this place, but the atmosphere was cozy and the booths were nice! Overall for me this was a 4.7/5, I would definitely recommend going here and experiencing decent tonkotsu ramen!

I walked into a space that is small and moody, the kind of room that feels lived in rather than designed for a particular aesthetic, and it suited the casual neighborhood feel of the surrounding area. The hot stone bibimbap is the dish that comes up most consistently and with the most enthusiasm. I ordered it and the stone bowl arrived sizzling. The rice along the bottom edges got crispy against the heat in a way that changed the texture and flavor of the whole dish as I ate through it. The beef and mushroom tofu versions are both well executed, and the egg on top finished the bowl correctly. The katsu is a solid option for anyone coming in looking for something more straightforward. I tried it and the breading was crispy while the cutlet inside stayed tender, and the sauce ratio was handled well rather than drowning what was underneath. The gyoza, japchae, seafood pancakes, and yaki soba fill out a menu that covers enough ground to satisfy a table with different preferences. Side dishes are served in modest portions, which was the main point of friction for me since I am used to more generous banchan. Food came out at a good pace and arrived hot. For Korean and Japanese comfort food in Providence, Den Den is a reliable and genuinely satisfying stop.
