The drink we ordered and the drink we don't order
    Beckett T.

Currently dining here. Waiter was super sweet but they brought out the wrong cocktails and we immediately told them it was the wrong drink, they said we have to pay for the wrong drinks and could order and pay for the drinks we originally ordered too. So now we have to pay fo 3 cocktails we never ordered. *update: we further discussed with manager and they asked us detailed questions and we assured them we all ordered the same drink and no one ordered the random 3 drinks they brought us. So they then decided not to charge us for the three drinks we didn't order. Such an uncomfortable experience. Thankfully didn't order food yet we we are going to pay the bill and just leave

I've eaten at many ramen noodle restaurants. Unfortunately the ramen here is just 6.5 / 10 for me. The noodle texture was correct. But the broth was a bit watery and lacking in flavor. My husband makes better pork belly than the restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the pork belly was still good, but I've had better. Also they only give you half of an egg, which was a little stingy, considering the price of the dish. Similarly the takoyaki was 6/10. Yes, I'm spoiled from having eaten better ones in New York city. Will probably not be back the next time I'm in town. Service was ok. Granted there was only one waitress so water came out a bit late. Otherwise she was friendly.

Delicious as always. New expanded interior and menu! Parking can be a challenge downtown, but when there's a will there's a way. Friendly staff!

Went here a couple of weeks ago before a P-Bruins game and found it to be an underwhelming experience from the food to the service. May give it another try but the entire experience was mediocre at best....

I came here with a couple of coworkers to finally try this place out, and we were definitely impressed. I love the variety of Ramen broths that are available. I tried the tomato based Ramen broth, and it was just perfect. The udon noodles were everything I was looking for. My coworker had the chicken Katsu, and I was so jealous once I looked at it. Service was a little weird, but nothing we couldn't handle. Dining room was clean and organized.

Delicious ramen and Japanese tapas! Recently connected with the new Thai restaurant Phed Phed next door, so you can order either menu from either restaurant! The ambiance is funky, with a very cool mural of anime characters ranging from the 80's to now!

Kind of small but cute and "divey" . Staff were extremely polite, attentive and knowledgeable about the foods . Tons of Japanese beer and saki flavors ! They also have hot saki . Food was hot and DELICIOUS!

Didn't even wanna finish the ramen...

Food is pretty good portions and quality wise just not a lot of seasoning & flavor was fairly disappointing unseasoned chicken unseasoned fried tofu sauce didn't have much flavor either sticky chicken wings aren't bad but it's just spicy sweet Thai sauce :/

Tori Tomo is a hole in the wall Japanese eatery located in downtown Providence. It's casual and decorated with popular Japanese animated movies and anime. There's a few tables for large groups on one side and tables for two on the other side. The menu has a large focus on ramen. They have vegan and vegetarian options, as well as gluten free noodles. Other than ramen, they also serve donburi (rice bowls), katsu sandwiches, and your typical appetizers like edamame, gyoza, and karaage. They even sell liquor! I don't know too many casual ramen spots that serve sake cocktails, wine, and Japanese beer. We ordered the Szechuan wontons ($9 for 6 pieces), Tom Yum Ramen ($16), and Miso Ramen ($16). The wontons were filled with shrimp and pork. They were topped with Szechuan sauce, corn, spinach, shiitake, and beansprouts. This app was average tasting. The filling wasn't very flavorful. The spicy sauce overpowered most of the other ingredients. As for the ramen bowls, the portion sizes were more than enough. All bowls come with half of a soft boiled egg, spinach, bean sprouts, scallions, spice and sesame seeds. Protein choices include chicken, pork belly, beef, or shrimp. The broth for the Tom Yum ramen was very good and tasted exactly like the classic Thai soup. It packed a lot of heat, spice, and tang. There were notes of mushroom, caramelized onion, lemongrass, Thai chili, cilantro, and lime. The broth for the Miso ramen was savory and umami - but it wasn't as rich or deep as it should have been. The pork belly was tender, but needed more seasoning or longer marination time. I'm disappointed with the noodles. They looked and tasted like they came from the cheap Instant Ramen packages. Service was great throughout the meal. Our server was attentive and friendly, refilling our waters right away when we were dying of spice lol I don't think the ramen here is anything to brag about, but it's certainly enough to satisfy your craving for a reasonable price.

    Ichiraku Ramen

Tori tomo has a good variety of asian foods! I ended up ordering the ichiraku ramen since I was craving it and I usually get tonkotsu ramen. I was satisfied with my meal, but it tasted more like a miso or soy sauce based broth rather than the usual creamy tonkotsu. The pork was also a bit dry. The server was sweet to give me a new egg when I dropped mine though!

    Gyoza
    Julia G.

Delicious ramen! I have ordered the miso ramen with pork belly and the shio ramen, both warm and comforting and extremely flavorful. The gyoza came out with six pieces but looked so good that I had to eat one before taking a picture ! The vibe of this small restaurant is trendy and they have a great playlist :)

Just wanted to give a quick, much-deserved shout out to the server Sky (with the fun colored eyebrows) who holds it down at Tori Tomo. Sky knows exactly what I mean when I call & ask about the corn situation. They say "oh yeah, we have the good corn" & totally hook it up every time. Thank you kindly, from this corn obsessed person, for understanding me!

food is good but if you get vegetarian they only gave me 2 pieces of tofu :( i don't understand why because tofu is really cheap.

Very friendly and helpful service as I was quickly seated at bar and provided with some awesome recommendations with the miso salad and ragu. The server said there was really only one option on the menu for vegetarians which is what I ordered. The food is served luke warm and for $15 I'm pretty sure I could have made this same dish at home for much cheaper and probably better. It has a spicy chili oil on the side that you mix in along with the pickled radish which was more salty than pickled tasting. One bunch of noodles wasn't properly cooked and clumped at a section. I consider myself pretty good eating with chopsticks and the slippery noodles proved to be quite difficult to eat. Not a good option if you're on a date and maybe concerned with how you will look eating this dish. Probably the saving grace of the dish was the mushrooms which allowed me to give this place 3 stars. I will not be back to this restaurant. I only ordered a hot water with a lemon for a drink. No lemon was given, only a chipped little cup (pictured), and the restaurant was freezing. I kept my coat on the entire time. The menu is really tiny. I suggest looking at the menu before going and really making sure there is something you want to try before going. Rookie mistake made on my end!

We were sadly in a rush and had to be out by a certain time to catch a show, and our server understood the assignment and got us out on the tight schedule we needed. I'm just sad I had to slurp down my soup so quickly as it was absolutely DELICIOUS! I ordered the Snow Mountain Ramen - the creamy tofu broth is unlike anything I've had and was so so unique and delicious. I thought about it for at least a week straight after eating it and am still dying to go back to get more. I also got the Iced Rose Matcha drink - $10 felt too pricy for this but I wanted a fun drink and a little caffeine kick - and again the flavors were unique and tasty. Both my friend and I happened to see someone we knew here - it's definitely a popular spot! It was packed on a Saturday night but it was still pretty quick for us to get a table for 2. Being a downtown city restaurant, the tables feel a bit cramped and I was a little too close to the table next to me for comfort - claustrophobics beware (honestly the soup is worth it though!!) Parking is pretty easy in the lot, although Holy crap they need to fix the potholes / harsh drop-off where it meets the street, and it still was not fully plowed many weeks after the big snowstorm (it's a shared lot so not a Y Noodle specific issue, but just saying). The only thing that was unpleasant were the bathrooms - I get it was a busy weekend night, but they reeked of a litter box the second you stepped in, the floor was dirty and very wet with unknown substances, and the Dyson hand dryer is at such a weird, too high level on the wall that it sprayed water in my face. Everything else was a dream, can't wait to go back! Hopefully the bathrooms were just a fluke.

Not pictured was the tonkatsu meal and my pork belly buns (appetizer for meal). I drank the beer+soju pairing which was good. I never had soju before today. It tasted like apple liquor. I wish that our server had communicated that food comes out as it is ready. My meal came out 10 minutes before everyone else's which is awkward. Although this isn't fine dining, I find a sporadic placement of food to be strange because I sat with my food in front of me waiting for everyone else's. Service is not necessarily friendly, but they are attentive.
