    Sweet milk pastry
    Kent S.

Rating: 4.3 Came to try this newer place in providence. It's a small shop in providence Arcade that offers mainly spam rice sandwiches with sides like asian pastry and dumplings. It's hard to find the place if you are not looking for it but it's right next to main entrance of Rogue kitchen. Parking is street parking only and may be difficult to find depending on times. When we came the staff greeted us and let us try their asian pastry which seems like it's only available on Sunday and Monday. They were kind enough to even warm it up and it was a nice gesture. I ended up ordering the shrimply the best rice sandwich, Thai style fried dumpling with spicy mayo and sweet milk pastry. The rice sandwich was pretty good I enjoyed the shrimp tempura the most, fried dumpling was steaming hot and paired very well with spicy mayo. Crunchy on outside and flavorful on the inside with hint of Thai spice. The bread was soft and sweet. Reminded me of typical asian pastry. Service was good and staffs were very nice. Overall the place was pretty good. It's nothing too fancy but tasty. Only thing is that I can probably make some of their stuff at home or get it somewhere else cheaper and its not necessarily unique other than the little twist with the rice sandwich which basically is spam musubi in sandwich form. Although I did like their dumplings and flavors were on point. It was a bit messy though. Anyhow if I come back I would get their dumpling and get the shrimp tempura rice sandwich.

I'm glad this place opened in the Arcade Mall! I tried "Shrimply the Best" and the Thai Basil Dumplings. The Shrimply the Best was delicious, filling and satisfying. The dumplings were quite good too, though I'm not sure why the fried ones are more expensive. Overall, it was a good experience--just wish they had more options!

I love everything about this place. Judy, the owner, is delightful! The dumplings are delicious and taste authenticity Taiwanese. They have other Asian Fusion dishes as well. Great stop on a rainy day. The restaurant is clean and cheery.

Hit the spot and super good~ this felt like an Onigiri with filling, and I loved it. They came out warm, and well packaged so perfect to-go option. The server was so kind and right away offered us some bread that is only available Sunday and Monday. Definitely worth it because it was warm, sweet, and super soft~ we tried samples of both flavors, so of course I bought one to go~ The Holy Smokes had egg, spam, lettuce, and spicy mayo sauce ~ wasn't as spicy as I was hopping. Rate it around 3/10 in my sauce spice meter~ The dumplings were good too, but not spicy at all either. Fried was a good option and the portion was large enough to share~ very oily and freshly made. This place was so cute, located in one of Providences older buildings, and warm inside ~ parking is a hassle, but there are parking lots with fees nearby~ we parked far, and very inconvenient unless this is part of your stop around Providence. I would come back, but only if there's an event nearby because of the parking~ absolutely delicious.

Very excited to have access to more asian street food faves! I've been so excited for them to open after their first pop-up. Service was excellent! High energy and eager to help. The food was fantastic. The rice sandwich was hearty. A little more rice than filling but still delish. The dumplings are a game changer. Large portion for the price and the thai basil chicken filling is perfect with that spicy dipping sauce. I'll definitely be back (often!)

Lemon garlic herb fries and shrimply the best

Tried some of the dumplings they were giving out as samples and it was legitimately the best dumpling I've ever had. Super crispy, CRAZY flavorful, and not to mention the staff are some of the most down to earth people. Immediately went back the next day to order the shrimp sandwich and lemon garlic herb fries and when I tell you every thing was absolutely perfect I mean it. Sandwiches are probably a little bigger than you expect

The rice sandwiches are really excellent, and probably the cheapest lunch option in the area. Service is also great!

Easy access just across the street from PPAC, both table and bar style seating. Very friendly and helpful service as I was quickly seated at bar and provided with some awesome recommendations with the miso salad and ragu. The server said there was really only one option on the menu for vegetarians which is what I ordered. The food is served luke warm and for $15 I'm pretty sure I could have made this same dish at home for much cheaper and probably better. It has a spicy chili oil on the side that you mix in along with the pickled radish which was more salty than pickled tasting. One bunch of noodles wasn't properly cooked and clumped at a section. I consider myself pretty good eating with chopsticks and the slippery noodles proved to be quite difficult to eat. Not a good option if you're on a date and maybe concerned with how you will look eating this dish. Probably the saving grace of the dish was the mushrooms which allowed me to give this place 3 stars. I will not be back to this restaurant. I only ordered a hot water with a lemon for a drink. No lemon was given, only a chipped little cup (pictured), and the restaurant was freezing. I kept my coat on the entire time. The menu is really tiny. I suggest looking at the menu before going and really making sure there is something you want to try before going. Rookie mistake made on my end!

We were sadly in a rush and had to be out by a certain time to catch a show, and our server understood the assignment and got us out on the tight schedule we needed. I'm just sad I had to slurp down my soup so quickly as it was absolutely DELICIOUS! I ordered the Snow Mountain Ramen - the creamy tofu broth is unlike anything I've had and was so so unique and delicious. I thought about it for at least a week straight after eating it and am still dying to go back to get more. I also got the Iced Rose Matcha drink - $10 felt too pricy for this but I wanted a fun drink and a little caffeine kick - and again the flavors were unique and tasty. Both my friend and I happened to see someone we knew here - it's definitely a popular spot! It was packed on a Saturday night but it was still pretty quick for us to get a table for 2. Being a downtown city restaurant, the tables feel a bit cramped and I was a little too close to the table next to me for comfort - claustrophobics beware (honestly the soup is worth it though!!) Parking is pretty easy in the lot, although Holy crap they need to fix the potholes / harsh drop-off where it meets the street, and it still was not fully plowed many weeks after the big snowstorm (it's a shared lot so not a Y Noodle specific issue, but just saying). The only thing that was unpleasant were the bathrooms - I get it was a busy weekend night, but they reeked of a litter box the second you stepped in, the floor was dirty and very wet with unknown substances, and the Dyson hand dryer is at such a weird, too high level on the wall that it sprayed water in my face. Everything else was a dream, can't wait to go back! Hopefully the bathrooms were just a fluke.

Not pictured was the tonkatsu meal and my pork belly buns (appetizer for meal). I drank the beer+soju pairing which was good. I never had soju before today. It tasted like apple liquor. I wish that our server had communicated that food comes out as it is ready. My meal came out 10 minutes before everyone else's which is awkward. Although this isn't fine dining, I find a sporadic placement of food to be strange because I sat with my food in front of me waiting for everyone else's. Service is not necessarily friendly, but they are attentive.

This…read morefamily-run restaurant has only been open about a year, but it already feels like an established part of the local dining scene. A nice space. We began with spring rolls (VERY good - chicken and shrimp) and sake, and the sake program deserves special mention. We selected a very enjoyable $38 bottle and noticed several other bottles at lower price points, along with a wide selection of canned sake--many around $11. Some diners may balk at paying that much for a can, but they will happily pay more for a mediocre glass of wine at half the volume. The value here is actually quite good, especially for those looking to explore sake beyond the ordinary. Our entrées--the ramen and chicken katsu--were excellent. The ramen featured a rich, deeply satisfying broth, while the chicken katsu was perfectly crisp on the outside and tender within. If you want a "hotter " ramen - the have an add on for a buck. Service was warm and attentive, reflecting the pride that often comes with a family-owned business. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, allowing the quality of the food to take center stage. Bristol is fortunate to have Sakuratani. Strong Japanese dining options can be hard to find outside larger cities, and for a restaurant only a year old, they seem to be doing many things right. We look forward to returning and exploring more of their menu--and their sake offerings. Highly recommended.

Very silky, some crunch, and the dashi sauce was well balanced. We then ordered tonkotsu ramen as our entree, and let me tell you I was not disappointed. After trying numerous ramens, specifically tonkotsu, this rated 2nd under my first favorite place. The creamy, rich broth was balanced, the noodles were bouncy (maybe homemade?), and the toppings were all good! Personally I am not a fan of thick pieces of pork chashu, so just keep that in mind when ordering that meat topping. Otherwise, excellent! Service: it was pretty slow so we got in immediately. Our waiter was very nice and took care of our table promptly. Atmosphere: it's definitely darker in this place, but the atmosphere was cozy and the booths were nice! Overall for me this was a 4.7/5, I would definitely recommend going here and experiencing decent tonkotsu ramen!

I walked into a space that is small and moody, the kind of room that feels lived in rather than designed for a particular aesthetic, and it suited the casual neighborhood feel of the surrounding area. The hot stone bibimbap is the dish that comes up most consistently and with the most enthusiasm. I ordered it and the stone bowl arrived sizzling. The rice along the bottom edges got crispy against the heat in a way that changed the texture and flavor of the whole dish as I ate through it. The beef and mushroom tofu versions are both well executed, and the egg on top finished the bowl correctly. The katsu is a solid option for anyone coming in looking for something more straightforward. I tried it and the breading was crispy while the cutlet inside stayed tender, and the sauce ratio was handled well rather than drowning what was underneath. The gyoza, japchae, seafood pancakes, and yaki soba fill out a menu that covers enough ground to satisfy a table with different preferences. Side dishes are served in modest portions, which was the main point of friction for me since I am used to more generous banchan. Food came out at a good pace and arrived hot. For Korean and Japanese comfort food in Providence, Den Den is a reliable and genuinely satisfying stop.

The service was also so fast and they were super nice!! I came here on a Friday night and it was completely empty, which makes sense because it's summer and this spot is located in a college town.
