Place was pretty busy for a Monday. Ambiance is divey, vibey and dark which I prefer. Japanese art on the walls, lanterns hanging above is cool. Service was quick and very accommodating, conversational as well even for how busy it was. On street parking only. I had the ten ten men which had a whole egg, bok choy and ground pork. Flavor was good, wish the broth were hotter and more veg/meat in it. Very rich flavorful broth. Def hit the spot for me on a cold winter evening. My bf had the duck ramen which he really enjoyed and devoured, said wished there were more ramen in it tho which means he def wanted more lol. We had the gyoza app which was standard, wasn't a huge fan of the tangy sauce and chili oil. Maybe an additional sauce option offering would be nice? We returned to dine here a couple of weeks ago - it had been a while since we were last here. A lively place - informal and unpretentious which we enjoy. Somehow the seats we had were comfortable for a change. It was noisily as usual but quieted down towards the end of the evening. We had a range of dishes which we shared. The half rack of pork ribs, the crispy cauliflower, the roasted almond and the Japanese mushrooms were excellent. We also had the edamame- I would have preferred the spicy version. I had a hot sake Reiko. The check came to $70. Our server, Amanda, was on the ball and cheerfully efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will return sooner than later. read more

Delicious ramen and small bites! We started with a few appetizers; the shumai were our favorite! The Brussels were also crispy and tangy little bites. The ramen itself was also delicious! Get the extra egg because they are cooked perfectly! The warm broth really hit the spot on a chilly weeknight. We also got the green tea lava cake, which was amazing. Food/Drinks: The food here is beyond delicious. One of the best Ramen spots that I know and have been to. The portions are insane. They are extremely filling and you will never regret going here to get some Ramen, plus they have a variety of Ramens. Not only do they have great Ramen, but they have a menu full of other items that aren't Ramen, like the salmon and other types of boxes. I have tried the salmon and it's delicious, one of my favorite items. It comes with rice and is extremely filling. This is the only place where I order french fries for the taste because they're so crispy and so delicious, and honestly, I rave about how good the food is here. I usually stick to fountain drinks here so I'm not familiar with any alcoholic drinks they offer. Location: I love the vibes of this location. It's very aesthetic, but also casual at the same time. It's very nice, cozy, and spacious. Usually, you can find a table casually, but some days it is more packed than others. I've had one time that we couldn't get a seat without a 45-minute wait, but other than that, every single time we've been able to get seating instantly! This is more of a casual place to go with friends and family, and a lot of people just dress casual. You don't have to dress up, but you can if you'd like. They offer street parking as they don't have their own parking lot due to the street that they're located on, but street parking is easily accessible and close. Service: The service is always top-tier. I always seem to get the same exact servers and they're always nice, friendly, attentive, and get everything done and given to you in a timely manner. Based on pictures and reviews, I've been wanting to come here for about a year now. I did walk in once before but it was very busy so I walked out. This time, we came around 3 pm on a weekday so it felt a lot less chaotic. Since it was a nice day out, and they have outdoor seating in the shade, we decide to sit outside. Their chairs and tables could be more comfortable, but their food and service made me forget all about it. Our waitress was very kind, and gave great recommendations which ultimately influenced my decision to go with the 30 hour ramen (the other option I was torn between was the duck ramen but my friend ordered it). Seconds after placing our order, I saw crispy chicken skin on the menu and immediately ordered it. It was ready after about 10 minutes and the portion size is great for 2, but can serve up to 3-4 if you're just looking to try it. I absolutely loved the flavor and texture - it was crunchy, and did not have any burned chicken fat taste to it and had a drizzle of some sweet sauce which complimented the savory well. The food was perfectly timed because right when we finished the crispy chicken skin, our ramen came out and it looked fantastic. I tried some of the duck ramen broth and it was sweet and savory which was very unique to other ramens I have had but nonetheless it was good. The duck thigh looked very good and also tasted good; no gamey flavor and perfectly crispy skin. My ramen was very tasty, especially after adding the chili oil which I would say is a must. One thing I do wish it came with was corn, but everything it had tasted fresh and paired well with each other. In terms of seafood, it had a couple shrimp, a scallop and some calamari. The egg and noodles were cooked to perfection, and the broth is very tasty. We noticed that they had homemade ice cream on their menu, so obviously we had to try it. Two things that I most enjoyed about the ice cream is that they have very unique flavors and it's really affordable ($2 a scoop). Our waitress also told us about their ice cream float which gives you a mini scoop of each of the flavors they have in rotation (4), for $1 a scoop. We tried the smores, black garlic, passion fruit, and sakara. The most unique flavor was definitely the black garlic, but my favorite was the smores one. I am excited to go back and try other items on their menu, especially during the summer when Hope St is lively - check out the little shops while you're at it. I returned to Wara Wara this afternoon to grab some ramen today! Ordered the Tan Tan men again. The broth was really flavorful and the meal had many toppings. I would recommend adding chili oil for a slight kick. Ramen on a freezing cold day hits different - especially as it comes piping hot and fast. Our server was nice. Ambiance was chill. I was served by the lovely Sam, who recommended I try the vegan eggless noodles in the Roasted Seasonal Root Vegetable Curry. Every time I visit Providence, I always make a visit to Wara Wara. Regardless of the season, I always order the Tan Tan Ramen. It is the absolute best. It's so flavorful and comforting. If you are looking to order an appetizer, I would highly recommend their pork belly bao buns. Their ginger limeade is also a must-try; it's super zesty and refreshing. Delicious ramen place! Maybe not the best I've ever had in my life, but certainly one of the better places in Providence! This is probably a great date spot. The ambience is dark, cool, hip. Drinks are good. Service is attentive. Appetizers are great - highly recommend the Taiwanese popcorn chicken!!! Sauces and pairings go perfectly with it. I also enjoyed the fried cauliflower too. Brussels sprouts were a bit meh, not as crispy as I would have liked and the crispy rice on top was a bit stale. For ramen, I've tried many of them on the menu. The best one is the 30 hour ramen. Trust me. It's got the most depth of flavor. I'm not really even a seafood person, but I would get it just for the flavor. Miso and tan tan are not bad, standardly good. Duck ramen - do not get this. The broth is dark and SWEET which I wasn't expecting, and did not like. Ramen burger was a fun novelty item, would probably get again if I was craving it. Udon curry was good! Our ramen was quite alright, but there's a very high-pitched electrical noise that kicks on here every few minutes. The noise was pretty distinctly unpleasant, and made it difficult to enjoy the food and each other's company. Decor is fun and eclectic, bar area is really cool. We ordered the pork belly buns to start. Not bad. The pork belly could have used more char, but a good start to the meal. l had the miso ramen and my wife had the shio chicken ramen. She thought hers was meh and could have had more chicken. Broth was okay and she appreciated the black sesame seeds, but overall a bit flat. I felt the same about my broth. the whole bowl should have been hotter in temp and definitely needed more depth in flavor. I kind of slogged through the ramen at the end, searching for more flavor. They have lots of ramen options and my advice to the restaurant would be to have just one or two but really work on getting a rich broth. We're not likely coming back. read more

I'm continuing my hunt for the best ramen in Rhode Island, and of course my search led me to Wara Wara on Hope Street. I think this is the closest ramen I've found in our little state to match the authentic quality Japanese ramen I can get in New York. This is a cute and modern location with tons of windows and fresh, Asian-influenced decor. They boast several flavors of ramen along with specials that often include lobster and quahog ramen for some local flavor. I recently went and they had a special appetizer of tempura green beans that were honestly, so good I could have eaten three plates of that. I hope it becomes a permanent menu item. The ramen itself has a tasty broth that is mild to medium on spice. It's packed with noodles and veggies and topped with an egg and fresh seaweed sheets that's as good to eat as it is to look at. This was my family and my first time at Wara Wara (4/6 @2:30). It was a party of five. Three of us ordered the Lobster Ramen, one TanTan, Oysters, Kimchi, popcorn chicken, sticky rice, and calamari. Our waiter (I forgot his name) was kind, patient, and professional. The calamari wasn't fresh, and they did remove it from our bill. Other than that minor hiccup, the food was delicious! After walking a few miles along the beautiful Blackstone Boulevard, we decided to dine at Wara Wara, about a half mile away. Wara Wara featured an interesting fusion menu and boasted some very good Yelp reviews. Wara Wara means "laugh laugh" in Japanese. We were seated quickly inside, and though they were also serving outside, they only had a few tables and the tables were tight, with nominal room for people to navigate the sidewalk adjacent to the tables. Inside there was more room and an eclectic vibe which we liked. They were serving brunch, and my co-diner decided to try their Fried Chicken and Waffles. I selected the Shio Chicken Ramen and was told it was not spicy. They were getting progressively busier on this unseasonably warm and sunny 72-degree day in mid-November. It took a while for our lunch to be delivered, and when it arrived, assuming I can borrow a line from one of my favorite authors, it was the best of times, it was the worst of times. * Chicken Shio Ramen: Chicken Broth, Grilled Chicken Thigh, Soft Boiled Egg, Spinach, Bean Sprout, Corn, Shiitake Mushroom $14 * Fried Chicken and Mochi Waffle Brunch Special $14 I thought the ramen was very good, a substantial helping of noodles, chicken and vegetables, and a nicely cooked and tasty soft boiled egg. This was a nicely executed dish, and did have a little spiciness to it, which was fine for my palate. Unfortunately, the Waffle should have been called the "Awful". They were soggy and flavorless; they were served topped with chicken and vegetables. My co-diner requested maple syrup, in an attempt to improve the awful waffle, but it took a long time to arrive at our table, and by that time the waffles were essentially inedible. The vegetables atop the waffle were raw including raw onion, it was a very unappealing dish. Almost all the waffles remained unbeaten. Is the moral of the story not to order the chicken and waffles at a Japanese fusion restaurant? A categorical yes at Wara Wara, and that's no laugh laugh! read more

I think the potential is there, for sure. Hip, modern, bustling, & casual enough. Nice place to meet up with friends. There are unfortunately very little options for gluten-free ramen. The only ramen on the menu that can be made gluten-free is their vegetable ramen, so I ordered that. I asked for a side of some sort of protein to add, & so they added chicken to it. The broth unfortunately was lukewarm & the egg was totally cold. The noodles & the broth really lacked flavor, but the added chicken was decent. Our server was attentive & kind. Went here for the first time today on the recommendation of my niece and her fiancé. We went on a Saturday night around 6 PM. Parking was scarce; there is no offstreet parking. Fortunately, we found a spot close to the entrance. The inside was relatively small. It wasn't too crowded or noisy. We did find out that we needed reservations in order to be seated at a table. Not sure if this is a "Saturday night" only thing? They offered us a spot at the bar, which was fine with us. It quickly got busy in there right after we were seated, so service was a little slow, but not unreasonable. Our party of 4 all enjoyed our food & drinks. Hubby and I split an order of Gyoza; it was a special that day. I got the lobster Ramen (also a special) and hubby got the duck thigh Ramen. My only complaint is I requested it to be extra spicy, and it truly wasn't spicy at all. They offered me chili oil and red pepper flakes which helped, but I do wish it packed a little more of a punch. Can't go by me, though; I've been told my spice is broken...lol! Don't mix tapas with ramen! Tapas are served one at a time and an entree is not served until after the tapas are served. The ramen is not served until after the entree is served. That is what was explained to us after waiting And hour and a half for our ramen and watching three of the people eat, one at a time. After the hour wait, the entree seafood tapa was served , then another half hour wait for the ramen, then two ramens came out , after another ten minutes, the third ramen was served. I am the slowest eater of the group, and my ramen was served last. The others in my party had already finished eating and had to sit and watch me eat. The food was very good but service extreeeeeeeeeeeeerrrmly slow and to say it was slow is a gross understatement. Lobster Ramen was yummy, just was a little confused as to why there was mushrooms in the soup. The menu did not have mushrooms listed as an ingredient. Thankfully, they were big enough for me to pick them out. My other issue was that the soup wasn't hot enough (temperature wise). Soup is supposed to be HOT! The corn was the star of the ramen. The fried shrimp dumplings were delicious, highly recommend. The raspberry sorbet was the best flavor of the 4. $4 lemonade for like 2 sips, won't do that again. I was in the neighborhood and after reading all these positive reviews I decided to get some takeout for lunch. Big mistake. The cauliflower I ordered was fried but not successfully. It wasn't crisp, just soggy, and the sauce had no flavor other than excessive sweetness. The pork buns were equally disappointing. They too had the soggy fried batter and the bland sauce that was sweet and totally lacking in any seasoning. They were also overly fatty. And just in case you thought I got them after they sat for 15 minutes I picked them up as soon as they came out of the kitchen and ate them - with increasing joylessness - immediately. So it is amazing that I had to wait until the quarantine to get Wara Wara. It has been on my list for ever and I drive by it multiple times a week. So glad I finally was able to find my way to ordering form here, so I went with a variety of items. I started with the Crispy Brussel Sprouts. Now because they were delivery I am certain they lost their "crispness". What they didn't lose was their flavor, wow! These were great. The flavor of the spices, fish sauce and citrus soy were a fabulous compliment to the flavor of the sprouts. I also had the Pork Belly buns which were flavorful with a great sauce. I then jumped in to my Shio Chicken Ramen. Great broth, good chicken and outstanding noodles. I ordered it with extra noodles ($2 extra) so I ma not sure what the standard noodle amount is, but the extra noodles brought it to the right amount of noodles for me.
