I took the 8:30am Pure Sculpt Mega reformer class with Madeline! The machine was easy to navigate with some explanation but if it's your first time I recommended speaking up before class to get a full run down of how to use the machine, as the class doesn't really stop for anyone! Although movements are slow and controlled the switching of positions is FAST! This class is Lagree which is similar to Pilates however I found it more intense and gives you that "snatched" look. A lot of focus on core, lower abs and thighs! The studio is small and clean with a bathroom, storage cubes and water fountain. There's a parking garage in the back/attached to the building which is nice. Parking is free for 3 hours. read more

I tried Pure Pilates for the first time through their new client pass - Two classes for $32. I love the simple style with no locker rooms/changing rooms to make the workout a quick in and out. The mega reformer takes a bit to get use two but it works! Each class is 45 minutes long and goes by quickly. Both classes had different instructors with different moves focused on concentrating your muscles and moving slowly. I was shaking the entire time. Oddly I wasn't really sore the next day. There are many class options available too, so if you miss one, odds are the next one starts in 15 minutes. Overall, with many locations, Pure Pilates is worth trying! read more

I went to my first Pure Pilates class with ClassPass and enjoyed my experience! It's definitely more of a lagree-style class with the megaformer as opposed to the typical pilates reformer but I enjoy both styles so this wasn't an issue for me. Class: I really liked the instructor! She was very attentive and helpful when it came to form corrections. The class felt very quick but we covered quite a bit of exercises even though we only had 45 minutes. If you're a beginner I would suggest asking for a rundown of the machine and general exercises prior to the start of class. Studio: The space is very bright and has a good amount of mirrors so you can easily check your form. There are cubbies at the entrance to store your stuff. I've been coming to the various Pure Pilates locations since 2016, and I still love them 7 years later. The key behind their success? It's Lagree Pilates done the RIGHT way. When you come to Pure Pilates, you'll be mildly surprised to know you won't be in a class full of size 0 blondes with lululemon belt bags. Instead, you'll find everyday women (& sometimes a brave man) in various shapes & sizes all looking to fulfill their fitness goals-- whatever they may be. Biggest props to the soon to be mommies, I SEE Y'ALL!! My favorite instructor of all time is easily Madeleine. Some might say she's soft spoken, but just because she's soft spoken doesn't mean she isn't eloquent. Madeleine is super clear with her instructions and because of this, it allows room to focus on the tough challenges she guides you through. Music choices, I can't complain one bit. From SZA, to Bad Bunny, to Dua Lipa, I'm always waiting for my next quiet karaoke moment. read more

I attended my first class at Pure Pilates - South Lamar this week and enjoyed it! Having recently just moved from Houston I'm excited to get back into megaformer pilates here in Austin. I signed up for the All Access membership which I think is perfect for what I'm looking for, for now (it's $30 up front each month, and every class you sign up for after that is $15). My husband and I have been looking for a reasonably priced pilates studio around austin and while this is NOT a traditional tower Pilates class (the studio uses mega reformers) the instructors and classes are great for all levels of experience. The studio offers a variety of classes scheduled throughout the day and week so you can usually find a time/date that works for you. The studio has on site parking and all the instructors we have taken so far have been friendly and informative. The studio itself is clean and well maintained. Again, the price point for packages is very reasonably priced compared to most other studios around Austin and while it's NOT traditional tower Pilates, the mega reformer style classes are engaging and a great work out. read more

Experts only! I used to do Pilates a good amount several years ago...this is...different. I am completely out of shape and thought I would start doing Pilates again to get back into it. WARNING: these are difficult moves and not traditional Pilates. There are zero modified moves for those of us not in great shape. I left in the middle of class (never in my 42 years have I EVER done this) as I felt unsafe in the class. I love there reformer classes. However, I've been to this location a few times on the weekends including today (sunday) and honestly, they start about 8 minutes late and end right on time. I love this workout! I have never been a group workout kind of girl, but Pure Pilates Austin changed that. It is such a welcoming and positive space. I've been to every location multiple times and they are all great. The instructors are super friendly and attentive to all levels, adding challenge as well as modifications and support. Every time I drove by S. Lamar I would see the studio and was curious to check it out. I took my first class with Melissa using my class pass and boy did it kick my butt. I have been doing barre and pilates for almost 7 years now and lets say I could barely walk from being sore the next day. Definitely not your classical pilates work or reformer work. To me the class is a good pace and challenging which I love using the megaformers. I left there sweating so much and felt like I got a good workout in. The studio is clean and bright from all the windows around the studio. Parking is free in the retail garage behind the studio which is great. I will be going back! read more

Went to class here for the first time this morning, and boy did I get my a$$ kicked! FYI - this place does not do regular Pilates. They do a more intense version called Lagree which uses a megaformer machine. I've heard this gives faster results, but damn. If you're expecting a low key class, think again. This wasn't clear from their website/name. This said, I found the class/overall atmosphere enjoyable. The instructor was very friendly and knowledgeable. The pace of the class was a bit challenging for a new comer, but not insurmountably so. The studio is clean and spacious. There is a nice bathroom and a small changing area. They sell socks/various fit gear which is great for newbies who don't know about needing the grippy socks. Plenty of free parking, and the location can't be beat. It's in a cute mixed use area on S Lamar. read more

Their studios are clean with modern design, and the instructors are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. Though the classes are only 45 mins, the method is super effective. LOVE this place! Incredible workouts that target all the small and hard to reach muscles in your body. Coming to Pure Pilates has been instrumental in my injury prevention in running and I especially love working out with Vanessa- she's awesome!
