I'm only what, 2 months in with this new little gym. It is a far cry from the massive, corporate…read moreLifeTime Fitness South that I had spent the last 18 month at. I was really looking for more personal, nutrition and data driven results. It's great that your trainer is telling you that you look great and strong, but what do the numbers say? The InBody machine they had there, is here as well. Curious why my trainer at LT never regularly used it in my regime. We met with the owner Chris and he offered us a complimentary workout with one of the trainers to get a feel for the place. That wasn't necessary really. We somewhat knew what we looking for and Evolve seem to have all the stuff we really needed, without the pretentiousness. My treadmill was there, they have heavy stuff to pick up and throw around. Machines for all kinds of stuff. A massive half tire thing, that actually looks dangerous to me. :) Chris's interview with us was personal and direct. I liked that as well. He took his time, listened and asked for our availability and when to start the first complimentary session and we discussed the packages available. This was a wow moment. A 6 month commitment meant that our PT hour was $79.99, no monthly gym fee and I could come and go as I please. Jaw drop. We were paying $150 an hour, plus a monthly gym fee 3x's a week. Although to be fair, I had recently moved to a Medicare Membership at LT so no gym fee, but restricted hours. Ok, interest was peaked. I went to my first session with Celeste. We spent the entire hour working on my balance and stretching. I was like, ok no weights? I regretted that thought when I got home a few hours later when my muscles had some aching, a signal that something good was happening that worked. Her style was to get me in touch with my core and she was surprised, as was I, why my past trainer experience didn't touch on that. Using my own stomach kettle bell or medicine ball as "The Weight" makes sense. I have used very little physical weight these past two months. I am doing a lot of Yoga it seems when I train with her. Mandatory stretching before working out, in addition to me getting on the treadmill before we start. The Yoga is teaching me to be in touch with my body and muscles, I like that as well. Celeste may be younger, but she has knowledge and experience which is what matters to me. She is now taking a keen interest in our diet. We are looking at recipes and dietary concerns. She cautioned me on my style, which was 1670 cals a day and reminded me that slow and easy wins this race. Again, good logic. Most important she has a laugh with me while I clumsy work my way through the gym like a drunken Shrek at a rave. Nice reassuring smile and very quiet speaking so I have to pay attention more. Communication. The owner is there often and when he sees me, he always checks in with me and asks how I am doing. I get reminders on the gyms personal app and text's from Celeste checking in on me. A very important app is the InBody app. I can already see the improvement in my body, which is a total motivator. Such a simple thing and a great, honest feedback tool. It feels good to support a local business and not a corporate conglomerate as well. Let's keep on keeping on!

The massage therapist is also a trainer and this means you can go and sweat for two hours and then get a sports massage afterwards. There's a boxing bag down there that you can't help from not hitting it, just don't stand too close or the bag will snap you pretty good on the nose. They also have an onsite sports PT as well. Great equipment, professional, and you'll WANT to work out there!

Over the past few months, Carmen's work with me has significantly improved how I feel throughout the day. With her training, I've discovered entire groups of muscles I never even knew I had. Mainly in my back. Building them up has made keeping decent posture easier throughout the day. That's my primary goal and it's clearly happening. I hold myself differently and feel more comfortable, especially at my shoulders and lower back. My lower back pain is gone. I sleep better and feel more confident walking around. Carmen has a real intuition for the body's movement, reminding me of my ballerina sister. Carmen can tell just by watching when something is off. She's also great to be around; whether it's the exercise, the company, or both, I'm always more cheerful leaving a workout. The app plus video also enables me to continue sessions while traveling. Anyone who can have her guidance is very fortunate.

My wife and I signed up for two Premier memberships at Orangetheory Lantana after a detailed discussion with Victoria about our options. Before enrolling, I clearly explained that I was comparing Orangetheory with Active&Fit Direct through my Blue Cross insurance. Active&Fit was the better financial option, but flexibility was the deciding factor. I specifically asked whether we could use the promotional month and then decide whether to continue, downgrade, or cancel before the regular membership began. This was not a vague or casual conversation. It was a clear, in-person discussion with Victoria specifically about cancellation flexibility. During that conversation, Victoria told me that as long as we gave about one week's notice, we would be able to cancel without moving into the next month. There was no ambiguity in what was discussed or in the understanding we were given. That representation directly influenced our decision to purchase two unlimited memberships. Had we been told that the agreement actually required 30 days' notice and that we would therefore still be charged for another full month, we would not have signed up the way we did. We likely would have chosen Active&Fit, taken more time before committing, or selected a lower membership tier. When we later tried to cancel, Victoria informed us that we would still be charged for another full month because of the 30-day notice requirement. For two Premier memberships, this created a significant and completely unexpected additional cost. I then spoke with Dana, the studio manager, and explained that this was not simply a case of us changing our minds. We made a financial decision based on the specific information provided to us before enrollment. Dana refused to make any exception, said she was the final decision-maker, and told me there was no one else I could escalate the matter to. I followed up in writing and asked Dana for the name or contact information of the owner or ownership group of Lantana Fitness Partners LLC so I could share what happened. She did not respond to that request. The studio was quick to rely on the written agreement when it benefited them, but unwilling to take any responsibility for the clear verbal representation made during the sales process. The entire experience was misleading, dismissive, and extremely disappointing. Anyone considering joining this location should be very cautious. Get every statement about promotions, cancellations, downgrades, billing, and notice periods in writing. Do not rely on verbal explanations from Victoria, Dana, or anyone else at the studio.
