The staff was super kind in giving me a tour and ensuring I had everything I needed! The facilities were very clean and the class itself was great. I got a good sweat on and was able to keep up despite being a first-timer. Kudos to a great teacher who set me up for success! Upon the class ending, I was once again greeted and asked how class was. They made sure all my questions were answered, and I left feeling great. I will definitely return to try one of their other offerings (strength, cycling, etc.)!

I came here yesterday. I am a old guy, broken down from a great life of being a musician,…read moremotorcycle wrecks, race car wrecks, skiing disasters, playing Army for many years and basically burned the candle at five ends. Add the tum tum, and you would think this is the last place I would end up. The different orthopedic doctors and Physical Therapists all basically said go to something like this and see what makes you hurt :-( . I called and talked to the business and it turns out that they have many different types of classes, including rehab and recovery. They would make adjustments for me if needed. The business was spotless and organized to a T. Then came the class. The instructor, Jennifer, was quite charming as was the staff. The attendees were all ages, shapes, sizes, and I was not the only man there. Jennifer said she could adjust the instruction if needed due to all my damage and I said no way, go full blast and if I had problems I would adjust myself. So, full of confidence, I started immediately with the class which was a "grace", or something like that, for newbies. Jennifer was enthusiastic, and kept the tempo going. I had some problems at first following the instructions as I was new to this, but with the mirrors and her assistants, I started getting the idea. Yeah! I heard "shake it off and rest" but I could never see where "rest" was in the picture. I realized that if I totally stopped I would never be able to start up again, so I did the best I could. Then I learned to hate the words "bar and barre". When you are told to grab or lean on the bar, you are really going to get it. All in all, it was wonderful. Jennifer or one of her assistants would come and help with advice, and there was only 2 moves I could not do. When we were finally finished, my muscles were shaking so bad from lack of use in the past few years, I asked my wife to drive home, much to her glee. Fast forward 1 day and I am worn out and sore, but in a good way. I am definitely more flexible, I don't have pain where I used to have pain, so this event probably saved me a lot of money to doctors and therapists as I know now where to target and to what extent I can handle and still live.

Today was my first visit to Dancer's Shape. A friend invited me and I wasn't sure what to expect…read morebut was down for some post holiday exercise. Walking into the studio you feel like you're in a trendy little boutique. Cute furniture, modern furnishings. The receptionist immediately greeted my friend and I and gave us a quick tour around. I felt very comfortable there for it being my first time. The instructor, Emily, met with us before class to explain what we were in for and reassure us that it was ok to work out within our own limits and take breaks as needed. We did the Shape class which encompasses strength training and toning. You might think a class loosely based on ballet sounds kind of like an easy work out, but it was definitely not! I work out at least a few times a week and this class really put me in my place. My arms were aching 5 minutes in and my butt was burning pretty much the whole time. I can't see how you wouldn't get in shape if you do this class regularly! There's a special right now where you get 2 classes for $22 as a new client and it was totally worth it. I have felt healthy and energized all day. It's nice to work out in such a clean and pretty environment. I really hope to make this a regular part of my week.

I've been 100 times and it's always different. They also have TRX classes which are actually a very very good workout. Instructors are all good. Don't be scared of parking! They validate for the garage right behind. Sometimes mid day it's full. I have parked in 15 minute parking and been fine. Street parking is good for early morning classes.

I really enjoyed the class, the challenge and focus on ensuring my body moved safely while still getting a great workout from my 50 min session. Hydration, bathroom and various amenities were offered and at 6 reformers was the perfect situation in the Village for one on one attention. I look forward to returning and dropping in as everything was great about getting some Pilates movement in my new years goals to start!

This is only my second review on yelp as I usually only do this if I am passion it about something. I wanted to share my experience in hopes you will experience the same... On my first visit at the studio my trainer Shane Selberg, spent time helping me get specific with my training goals. He took the time to understand my likes and dislikes as well as the sports I enjoy. He made it very clear that all of this is important when looking at the big picture. After we discussed goals it was time for my measurements. I don't usually enjoy this part of the session, but Shane made me feel very comfortable and was very professional. He used ultrasound to check my body fat percentage as well as percentage of water. I was surprised to find out I still don't drink enough water. :) After reviewing all of his results with me, we revisited my goals to see if they were in align with my data. In my case they were. On to the workout...I loved it! Don't get me wrong it was not easy but it was FUN! Shane trains like no other trainer I have had in the past. Squats on a balance board, hula hooping to Michael Jackson...how could you not have fun! With the fun comes motivation, encouragement and inspiration! Just when I was beginning doubt myself, Shane had words to encourage those last few reps. Not only did he encourage me, he educated me on why he trains the way he does. This really helped me wrap my mind around the big picture. They offer Yoga, Kettle Bell and Boot Camps, I am excited to try them. There are no contracts at 5 fitness and they customize each program to fit the individual. I am looking forward to continuing with this Elite group of professionals and look forward to trying some of the other classes. You have nothing to lose by visiting 5 fitness! I've been going to Kai Fit for a little over two months now. If you are looking for a gym with…read morepersonalized attention, but enjoy the energy of working out with other people, then Kai Fit's Small Group program is the place for you. I'm highly selective in my choice of trainers because of a long history of spine issues. On my first day, Kai worked one-on-one with me, was very attentive in hearing out every detail of my problems, and then structured an initial routine for me. Unlike many other small group trainings or boot camps, you get your own workout routine for the day, with reps and intensity appropriate for your ability. You don't fall into a set program that everybody will follow. Each session uses a combination of barbells, kettlebell, bands, body weight, medicine balls, etc., to give you a complete workout. Kai and John work together to ensure that every workout is a little different. They track what you do, and whether you are ready for progress, advancing you at your own pace. My first few sessions, my workout was completely different from that of the other participants. As the weeks have gone by, occasionally I will work in with others, each of us assigned weight and reps matched to our abilities. I find both Kai and John very attentive to their clients, often noticing & asking me if I am in pain from something before I get a chance to tell them. If any exercise causes "bad" pain, they are quick to modify it in a manner that strengthens and prepares you for what you need to do. My workout is always tough, but never in a way that injures me. The icing on the cake of course is that Kai and John are both down-to-Earth people, and know how to encourage and challenge you in an almost understated way. I have met other trainers who are so busy showing off how awesome they are, that they forget to notice their client. This will never happen at Kai Fit. Joining Kai Fit has added some much needed weight training and intensity to my otherwise cardio-heavy workout regimen. Go on, give them a shot. You know you want to!
