Although movements are slow and controlled the switching of positions is FAST! This class is Lagree which is similar to Pilates however I found it more intense and gives you that "snatched" look. A lot of focus on core, lower abs and thighs! The studio is small and clean with a bathroom, storage cubes and water fountain. There's a parking garage in the back/attached to the building which is nice. Parking is free for 3 hours.

Each class is 45 minutes long and goes by quickly. Both classes had different instructors with different moves focused on concentrating your muscles and moving slowly. I was shaking the entire time. Oddly I wasn't really sore the next day. There are many class options available too, so if you miss one, odds are the next one starts in 15 minutes. Overall, with many locations, Pure Pilates is worth trying!

I selected a couple in person classes and went to my first in person session excited to visit a studio that a couple of friends had recommended. First, the location is a bit odd, as I had been warned, but it's not nearly as difficult to find as people made it out to seem. Parking for my mid-day class was easy. I arrived about 10 minutes early and was greeted and given a tour of the studio, which is really charming and seemed to have all the amenities you might want. I love that they have a token system to indicate whether you're okay with being touched, storage spaces for your personal items, and a very calming light/curtain set up. The instructor and the class itself were fine! I've practiced yoga (mostly at home) for many years and was easily able to drop into the flow and pace of the class. I really love that the floor is cushioned and comfortable. It seems like there is a good range of class style options, but I did wish there were more options for classes (an early morning option would be ideal!) I also wish I had gotten a chance to take more classes in person, but I decided to take the remaining couple of classes that fit into my schedule virtually. After that first class, I overheard a complaint to the instructor about how their household was experiencing covid (?!?!?! I 100% realize this is not something a studio can control, but it made me feel uncomfortable that someone in such a seemingly health conscious, community-oriented, and small space would feel ok exposing people to potential risk like that.) Obviously I didn't get the same community feel in the livestreamed classes, but I did still feel somewhat included and able to communicate with the instructor, had I needed to. Big ups to O+L for offering virtual options for their classes to make them more accessible. It's still on my "to consider" list of studios to potentially join at the end of my search bc I appreciated the the convenient location, affordable cost of the trial + membership, body-neutral/positive approaches, and cozy space.
