I had had breast cancer and several years later, uterine cancer. My diet had gotten really out of whack and I had gained about thirty pounds. In addition, my balance was terrible and I fell all the time. I had spent so much time in bed that I had very little strength or stamina. Our first year together was hard and I didn't always look forward to training. But I liked Sondra and actually began to enjoy our workouts! At first, I wasn't used to being challenged that way and I had gotten lazy. But something in me wanted to get stronger and fitter. I wanted her to be proud of me. I missed some workouts, but I kept at it. Today I'm not the same person. I look forward to workouts, and because Sondra is so knowledgeable, she knows how to keep me engaged. So you will always hone an area or machine freed up for you. My only complaints is that they blast booty rap really loud through the speakers. Like the loudest gym ever where you can barely hear the people at the front desk when speaking to them. Other times they will play butt rock which is just a tad more tolerable. Some may not survive without head phones. The men's bathroom is not the cleanest. Always smells. If you are a sauna user. It is also just mid. My other bigger complaint is that the heavy bags upstairs are unusable. They hung em on chains so high that they are pretty much unusable and they run into the ceiling frame. Kind of a safety issue on that part..... Other than that, better than most other gyms in this area of the price point

While I was walking back in the front desk dude yelled with insane attitude "hey sign in" I replied I already did, maybe if you weren't on your phone looking down when I walked in the first time you would have known. I am all for understanding, but you raise your voice at me like that? Not my jam, but I kept it cool cause I just took some pre and figured I was just raging from the pre. But it pissed me off and ruined my lift for that day. Day 25 they don't seem to know which is a standard for their foam roles or straps. One person lent me the foam roles, another person required an item to check it out. I attended this gym for maybe 3 or 4 month and went right back to BigTex cause this gym sucked. They say 'Mecca' or whatever but this place is Mecca crap. Scummy management, save your money. Go to BigTex, MetroFlex or even Fitness Connect. Prices are similar. Loud music, and when I say loud you have noise canceling headphone on and you still hear their gyms music. Dirty! cleaning staff is there but somehow it's still nasty, dried sweat on the window for months on end. "Ohh it's busy" I drew an 8 on the door with my sweat and it stayed there for nearly a month. I'd rather be at metroflex with the weight outside in a barn basically. Restrooms never seem to be working properly, one of the showers is always running. Yet no one is in there. Haunted or busted water system? Final review it's a NEW gym but somehow feels like it's already 4 years old. Cool equipment, shitty staff, shitty management, shitty deals, shitty across the board. Scheduled a call to review my needs and was able to get into Eric's schedule for a Friday assessment. The gym is quaint and quiet, I've driven by a million times. The parking is a bit odd, a few spots up front where you have to reverse onto S Lamar when exiting...sooo that can be a challenge. They have parking in the rear of the building which is great however there is a single entry way and well, not sure how multiple cars could park and get out. Just know your reverse skills need to be on point. The gym inside has everything you'd need and since it's not open to the public it's just the clients and trainers. That means no waiting for machines and no one looking at you while you're there. Eric is great, he's very easy to talk to and made the whole experience easy. Upon arrival we walked through the questionnaire filled out online to find out the why behind the personal training inquiry. He then did a body scan for weight and fat %, took blood pressure three times as well. Gave a quick tour of the gym and how things work then it was onto the physical movement assessment. Nothing too crazy, range of motion and flexibility tasks. Took an hour for the initial visit and came back the next day to finish a few small exercises then learn the warm up needed prior to sessions. No membership needed as you buy the session in backs, 5, 10, 20 and can be used how you want. Like that there's no long term contract to sign. Session will start in the next week or so with focus on building/repairing the base/functional imbalances before getting into the fun part. Time will tell how this goes, wish me luck!

The workouts are tough but the best thing is that they are ALWAYS different. It's never the same boring old routine. They recently got an infrared sauna too! Their class times align to people who work long hours in addition to people who don't work as you can attend the 6am or 7am classes ( that's where I'm at ) or the 12pm or 5:30pm classes. I enjoy this class so much more then I ever enjoyed Barre, Yoga or CrossFit. It's just a true combination of everything and that makes it so much more doable as it never gets boring. Random body parts are always sore. They also always provide alternatives if you have an injury. The class is super diverse. People of ALL ages and ALL weights. It's refreshing. The classes are always different and work different parts of your body. You will never get bored with the classes here! It really is almost like personal training without the high budget. Although from the reviews here and what I have heard, Lateef and the rest of the trainers are amazing at personal training. I have to give a shout out to Lane LeBlanc who is currently a trainer there. She is super great, friendly, very encouraging and knowledgeable. I always look forward to any class with her! You have many time options every day for the classes and everyone there is friendly. They have bathrooms, a water bottle fill up station and showers if needed and a new sauna!
