My friend introduced me to this workout about two ago and I have to say that the results are what inspired me to come and write this review. The workout is done on a megaformer. The exercises are performed to music and the class concentrates on strength, toning and flexibility which are exactly the things I needed. The studio itself is very clean and modern with plenty of parking, a definite plus since it's in downtown Austin. The two instructors I've had, Jennifer and Laine, are both very good instructors and very knowledgeable. Their classes are hard but I like how they both offer easier modifications to me since I was a beginner. But every class I feel stronger and things I couldn't do before I am now able to do. The results are truly amazing! I saw a pic of myself taken yesterday and it stunned me - the new definition in my shoulders, legs, neck. I couldn't find any pics that showed my "before" legs but I found a pic of my shoulders and neck from about two months ago and you can see the transformation. I am excited to continue this workout and to keep improving! read more

The music is SO unnecessarily LOUD... As others have mentioned, the teachers shout over the blaring music, and their voices are just muffled. What's the point of taking a class where the entire point is the micro adjustments and cues that the teacher gives ... but you Can't hear one clear word from the teacher over the blaring, obnoxious, dance music? Enough people have complained about this that you'd think the owners would smarten up, fix their sound system, and train their employees to focus on what matters - the students hearing the cues. Terrible sound system, and utterly oblivious teachers who don't even notice that the entire point of their job is being drowned out. I love Lagree and have done it for years, but the teachers (and many of the students here) here put of a Beverly Hills snobbish vibe (I've actually done Lagree in LA, and the teachers were less pretentious than they are here). Worst Lagree studio I've ever been to. Not going back, normally Lagree is awesome, but you won't get a good workout at this location. read more

Best workout I've ever done. I used to go to another Pilates studio where the exercises mainly just felt like stretches with some light weights. After my first time at TLS I was sore for days afterwards, in the best way! The instructors really care about form, and the movements flow seamlessly into the next one. It's hard, and a little confusing to start, but I've been able to pick it up fairly quickly. My entire body is sore, and as of now nothing hurts! LAGREE is amazing! I have been going for about a 3 years now. I have done a lot of other workouts over the years and I feel like this is the strongest I have ever been. Jennifer and Linzi are my regular instructors and I love them. Classes are hard work but fun! I have taken my family with me a couple of times. I was slow to try Lagree because I thought it was primarily a female workout. I could have not have been more wrong. I have been doing Lagree for 9 months now and consider it one of the most time effecient workouts that exists in Austin today. This is a hard workout not a social hour. As more and more of my friends tried it all the feedback was the same.. "Wow! It's REALLY hard. But very very good!!" No one starts out with it being easy so stick with it and you'll be hooked. The instructors are all awesome and will make sure your form is on point. Finally I really appreciate their scheduling app to make sure you can get into the class you want. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. The management here is completely unreasonable. The floors are always dirty and covered in hair. They do not care about their customers and will find ANY excuse to charge you more fees. It is not worth it. There are way better run studios in the area that have trainers that actually care about your form and help you. Out of the ~20 times I've been here, I've had maybe 2 trainers offer assistance or give 1:1 help. In contrast, almost every time I go to Pure Pilates they offer a tip or help with positioning. I was warned before I bought my pass about the poor reputation of this studio and I regret every dollar I've spent (and all the ridiculous charges) on this studio. read more

I just left my first ever Lagree class and I am DYING. That was undoubtedly the most difficult workout I have ever done. You will work every single muscle in your body including ones you didn't know you had. Megan was fantastic as the instructor and super encouraging. She made me feel very welcome as a first-timer. The exercises are not hard to follow (just hard to do!), but do listen to everything she says to make sure your body positioning is right because it matters. I had to modify some of the exercises because my wrists were killing me and to be honest some of them were just too hard. ClassPass has this classified as being for all levels. I would definitely not recommend this class to beginners, or as your first exposure to the megaformer machines. Change beforehand as there's no dressing room (there is a shared bathroom for the building but not in the studio itself). Bring: Grip socks are required. You may also want water and a towel if you tend to get sweaty. read more

Don't think you're getting off easy by going to a 45 minute class, this workout is HARD!!! The mega-reformer offers a lot of variation. It can feel a little scary at times; if your hands get too sweaty you're at risk for falling and getting hurt. Megan was extremely kind and welcoming, made sure alignment is proper throughout. I've never come across more rude individuals in a studio setting. For starters, if you are new here and can't find the physical location because it's hidden behind a parking garage, don't bother calling because the receptionist (not instructor) won't bother answering regardless of her staring directly at the ringing phone. After calling three times for assistance locating the studio and driving around for 20 minutes prior to class starting, I finally located the building. I walked into class three minutes early and with no warm welcome or greeting of any sort, both the receptionist and instructor jumped down my throat to tell me I wouldn't be taking the class. "The machine takes five minutes to explain and I only have three minutes until class starts." No apology for not answering the call, no assistance of rescheduling the class and no remorse for marking me as missing the class and charging me. I understand this form of Pilates is different from other mega reformers I have been practicing on for the past six years and the five minute walk through is for my safety, however the disrespectful and stuck up staff is inexcusable. Being new to Austin I expected more out of a "professional" staff in welcoming a new client. Extremely disappointing. If you are looking for a kind staff and challenging Pilates workout I highly recommend Pure Pilates on South Lamar. They will not belittle you and you are sure to feel great afterwards. read more

I was searching for a strength program to complement my rhythmic spinning classes - and the Lagree Method fits the bill! I have taken two classes so far. Each class was incredibly challenging and focused on different muscle groups. The instructors, Mel and Hannah, were very attentive and helpful. I was able to modify my exercises to my beginner level status. The pace was fast and time flew by. At the end of my class, my muscles were twitching all over! I signed up for the unlimited classes (only $149 a month). I can't wait to practice and improve my aptitude with this exceptional low impact program! read more

I love Lagree, I got started on it when I lived in Dallas last year and am back in Austin and thus going to this studio. My complaints are not with the instructors or the business, it has always been a great workout and I love the location and natural light of the studio! However, I'm hoping in the future instead of having to buy water bottles you can add a machine to refill our water. Especially being conscious about the environment and with the Texas heat, 90% of people carry their own refillable water bottle and there's no option to refill here. In addition, I'm curious about the nearest bathroom since there doesn't seem to be one in the studio? Is there a shared one for that complex or future plans to add? Thx!! read more

We LOVED TLS! My husband and I were visiting austin from Los Angeles for a few weeks, and were recommended TLS. It was absolutely incredible! Friendly instructors, but repetitive workouts and disappointing customer service. I started working out here in 2019 in search of a new home base. The front desk staff at the Arbor location is very friendly and so are the instructors. A few months in every workout began to feel the same. I'm not new to reformer Pilates and had never felt this way at my old studio. I learned that the instructors here are given zero creative freedom when it comes to planning the workout routines which seems to add to the monotony of them. Recently my credit card was incorrectly charged when booking a class. This has never happened before. Mindbody, who I have always used to book classes, confirmed the charge was an error and told me to reach out to the studio directly. I expected the matter to be resolved quickly. Yet despite forwarding the response from Mindbody requesting the refund, I was surprised with the following response from client services: Valentina has escalated this with Mindbody as all we show is that you purchased this online directly. The studio did not put this through for you. It also looks like you purchased it thorough the Mindbody app and not our app so we cannot control the outcome as it was purchased through a third-party app. If you dispute this charge, it becomes very problematic and time consuming for Valentina as she will need to take the time to prove the fact that this was not a studio error, which she most defintely will. Your account will then be flagged moving forward. Valentina will decide what happens from that point forward. I've done Lagree Pilates all over the country and this one is unfortunately one of the worst. The instructor was nice and friendly, but her the class was very slow compared to other studios. The degree of difficulty was beginner and she didn't give any options to increase difficulty. I told them I was out of town and that this was my first class, instead of charging me the $25 intro, they charged me $35 for a drop in (since I would not be a regular customer). Also, be warned: they are not flexible on their sticky sock policy. I was traveling and only had regular socks- not good enough- so I had to buy a $19 pair from them. This place is incredible! I'm a dancer and I came in nursing a shoulder and wrist injury. I also suffer from chronic headaches and the occasional migraine. This method has helped strengthen my bodily imbalances and has actually helped resolve many of the pains I was experiencing. The workout is difficult, don't get me wrong! But the challenge is FUN! In class, I was cautious of my injuries at first, but soon realized how to use my body properly to avoid feeling pain. My posterior chain is so much stronger and I know that has sincerely helped and eliminated most of my headaches. Many of my pains were due to weaknesses- those weaknesses are quickly improving because of this incredible workout method. I couldn't be more grateful for this place because of that alone. Not to mention the incredible owner, instructors, the inviting environment and acceptance of all levels and body types. You have to try it out. I have been a member of The Lagree Studio for over three years. Lagree is one of the few workouts that have shown fast and steady results. I've always battled with tone in my lower half and Lagree seems to do the trick. I always feel like I can increase the intensity of level of difficulty if I want to maximize my workout and the instructors do a great job ensuring everyone can work at their level of fitness or need--there are several pregnant women in the class who have continued their practice throughout their pregnancies! There are classes available for any schedule which I really appreciate as my time is limited. I would recommend this workout and this studio to anyone. I want to give a special shout out to the Instructor Lane--he's amazing, friendly and one of my favorites. read more

This place is fantastic. I love this studio/method because classes are only 45 minutes, but are really effective. After a class I'm sore and feel like I've worked all my muscles, hard, yet I'm not a sweaty mess (I avoid cardio like the plague). I've also been to Kor180, and while that place is nice, this is a much more intense workout. But intense in a good way. Half the time at Kor180 I felt like I was wasting my time. Heather is one of my favorite instructors here. She doesn't look at you with judgment/disappointment if you have to modify an exercise. I have a hip injury that prevents me from doing a bunch of random things. Almost every workout place I've been, the instructors have told me I just need to keep doing whatever hurts more and focus on my core, etc. - exactly what countless doctors have told me not to do. Honestly Heather was one of the only people that was just like "Ok, listen to your body". What a relief. Her great attitude has definitely kept me coming back and signing up for her classes. read more

DO NOT BUY A PACKAGE OF SESSIONS FROM THIS STUDIO AND OWNER. Valentina, who seems to have the franchise downtown, the Arboretum and possibly other studios in Austin, is unbelievably unreasonable. After buying a package for $250.00 I proceeded to take my classes. Very excited to participate in this exercise. It became clear my body would not allow me to perform this type of exercise. I tried and asked Valentina what I should do. She told me to take the fundamentals class at the Arboretum. I made the trip to the Arboretum and gave it my best. I was not aware of what was entailed and once again realized I did not have the strength to use these machines. Having back surgery in January left my right leg numb and my hip rotated. Since Barre3 and other exercises were not a problem I wanted to try LaGree. Once again I explained to Valentina I was unable and felt like it was dangerous and I could hurt myself. I requested a refund of all but the 3 classes I had used. She said she would not refund but extend the time for me to use my sessions. I guess this was for me to build strength. (?) After once again explaining I was actually afraid of hurting myself on the machines since I did not have the range of motion or strength, she refused. I then sent a message explaining it would be detrimental to her business if I were to hurt myself after explaining. Y medical limitations. Once agin she was not understanding and very hard nosed about the paperwork I signed that does not allow refunds.......However, she said I could give my classes away! Realizing she was not only unreasonable but a very poor business women I decided to just take the extra time to use the sessions so I could make an appointment with my back surgeon to see what he thought. After accepting this less than satisfactory offer she then refused to honor it and said she decided I had enough time ! I am still out my sessions and money and Valentina refuses to help in any way. This business will not be successful as Austin has so many amazing studios and owners that are there to help people not only get in shape but stay in shape and be safe while doing so. I am completely addicted to this highly effective total body workout!!! I am a woman of a certain vintage who had suffered three significant injuries within two years, and after only 6 weeks of Lagree, my pain is completely gone and I have begun to regain the muscle I had lost. This is a marathon for me and I have complete faith that I will regain my strong and healthy status one class at a time. The studios are gorgeous and you will not find a more safe and ultra sanitized facility in Austin. The trainers are first rate and create a positive environment for those who may feel vulnerable or less than confident. I also have the fortune to know the owner, Valentina, whose passion for others is parallel to none. She works tirelessly to help all those on their journey...beautiful inside and out. The Lagree method is hands down the best workout I've ever experienced. Which is bonus because it's one of the only workouts I can do now because of my age plus a major hip injury and foot surgery. Valentina and all of the instructors are so incredibly attentive not only to my need for modifications but also to helping me get over my fears of re-injury which i've done with every other form of exercise except the Lagree Method. The beautiful studio and the MegaFormers can be intimidating but there are people of every age, weight and ability having so much fun and thriving while getting incredibly strong and fit. I recommend starting with the Foundations class if you can, to learn in a small, slower class environment. If not, no worries - the instructors will ask you about any challenges/limitations, (TELL.THEM.) and they will briefly go over the machine with you and put you where they can see you for your first few classes. They will also assist as needed to help you get comfortable and familiar with the machines during class. I use fingerless grip gloves to help me feel more secure when my hands sweat. Trust me - you will sweat. Bring a towel and water. And get ready to feel incredibly strong after just a few classes. read more

This review is not about the teachers. My problem is with the owner and the way I was treated. There was an advertisement for discounted classes. I signed up for them and the owner refused to honor. Nowhere on the ad did it say first time customer, which was the cited reason for denial. I wrote a professional email explaining my dissatisfaction and she blamed the company who ran the advertisement and even me. She stated that other clients had the same issue and were ok with it. I don't see how other clients and what they do have anything to do with me. I don't agree on this treatment of customers. I shouldn't have been penalized for a problem with their advertising. She refused to take any blame or just honor the classes and better check the ads before they go out. I was looking to start coming here full time but doubt I will ever return now. read more

This is an awesome workout. I am starting back up with this workout after my second pregnancy. I learned of this workout in Brooklyn - it was the most challenging workout but I kept it up to 3x a week and really saw a change in my body. I stopped because I had a difficult pregnancy and a move to Austin. Ive been looking for new studio and I am very pleased with The Lagree Studio. I have very high expectations. I have mostly positive experiences but there are just a few cons and nothing that would ever make me not come back. Pros: INSANE workout. I love it. If you keep it up a few times a week, you WILL see a change. Katerine and Heather are my favs. Great music! Hip hop! Keeps me motivated. Mitch is awesome (obviously) but his music isnt my steez. Cons: no towel service. I used to sweat like a crazy person in BK cause it was such a hard workout and the in-studio towels was helpful. Its still a challenging workout (more about it later) Some teachers are difficult than others and some classes (even with the same teacher) are easier/harder. Music can be too loud. Music definitely helps motivate but its too loud and makes it difficult to hear the instructor. I wish they had afternoon classes on the weekend. UPDATE: *****5 stars! I wanted to give an update 06/13/17. I took at break from Lagree and picked up working with trainer and weight training/cardio for the last 6 months. The Lagree Studio currently has a special for unlimited classes for $130 for a month and it brought me back. To make the most of my membership I have been going 3x wk with Ellen. SHE KICKS BUTT! I have seen (and felt) more change in my body in the last month than I have with my trainer. The intensity of the workout are harder than before - they have incorporated fast movements along with the slow. Since coming back, Ive had to relearn the positions/terminology. Ellen does such a great job demonstrating the position and adjusting your body - not to mention is a great motivator. I take the 12N class and the class isnt full so we get a lot of hands on attention from our instructor which is great. I have not yet tried the Lagree/Versa class but I am fully committed to the Lagree megaformer classes. Its absolute torture in the BEST way. The Lagree Studio is in the process of a rebrand and calling themselves TWITCH. Its the perfect name bec you work your muscles until they twitch and literally thing you are going to fall (but you won't!!). I leave the studio completely exhausted but I know Ive accomplished the best workout. read more
