Private bachelorette party workout taught by Coach Courtney D - I highly recommend hosting your next event at FIT!!
    Jessica S.

I consider FIT to be my second home and love it for so many reasons (see previous reviews that are still true today), but I wanted to write a specific review for the amazing Courtney Durando trainer extraordinaire! In addition to FIT's amazing small group fitness classes, you can also host events at FIT! I just had my bachelorette party last weekend and FIT hosted a private group workout for me and my girlfriends taught by the lovely Courtney! If you have ever taken one of her classes, you know how great of a trainer she is, but she is also amazing at hosting events and tailoring the event to exactly what you are looking for. All of my girlfriends are at different fitness levels and Courtney created a workout that everyone could do and that could also be scaled to be more or less challenging depending on what you are looking for. We had SO MUCH FUN. If you are looking to host a fun event, bachelorette workout, birthday workout, your name it, FIT is your place and Courtney is your girl. I wish I could do it all over again!

I went full-force with a great gym --just not great for me given my seven-year break and back issues, and managed to injure myself to the point where it hurt to walk. I came to my senses, did what I should have years ago, and started working out at Train for the Game. I've been seeing Kyler Brown and Jordan Pellien and the other awesome doctors at Austin Sports Therapy for about 3 years for my back injury, but never considered working out at the gym RIGHT THERE. The coaches push me but also have insight into my back issues bc they've talked to the doctors and know what modifications to give me. They pay attention and guide me through the group workouts. The only negatives are that the gym is full of HS football players at 5 pm, and there are no classes on Sundays.

This is not a typical membership gym setup, it's setup for classes. Classes: this was not a positive experience. I came in for a trial class and was given a great workout by Dan. The next time I came in I had a different trainer and she was negative and unfriendly. Then, my next 3 workouts at this facility were ALL the SAME! So, within 10 days time and 4 classes later I had done pushups, sandbell slams, lunges, and squats in every single workout with a few other exercises mixed in. The same muscles were being worked and getting quite fatigued. The workouts lacked variety and it seemed the trainers were just facilitators and not designing the workouts. They explained to me that their workouts stay the same for an entire month, which is not conducive to developing all ten fitness components nor injury prevention. I was never asked about injuries or if I needed to modify by any of the trainers. I will say, while there was hardly ever anyone at the front desk, a couple of trainers remembered my name (except for the one unfriendly trainer) and engaged me in conversation while I was walking around during my visits. The general manager was great about listening to my concerns and admitted that they're a new business in every sense. For the money, you can get much better service and customized workouts at other places. I ended up getting my money back for my month trial after trying 5-6 classes. I've had several trainers and coaches in my fitness career, so I have high standards. Beginners may find these classes to be challenging and correct, but I think those that are experienced will find the holes in their programming. Luckily, I've found the workout spot I was looking for, it's just not at Train for the Game.

Energy because...ok, keeping me motivated is difficult. Experience because a trainer must understand the body to get the most from a workout & compatibility because when I don't want to move, my trainer knows how to encourage and when I can't move, my trainer knows the difference- that is crucial. Little did I know at the outset Leila would bring it all around. Even better than I imagined. Embracing my flaws and focusing me on my goals. She exudes calm while guiding toward real progress. As I worked with Leila, I quickly realized she was multi-faceted. She could be a drill Sargent when my body called for it, an Empowering voice when my body needed more grace, and a freaking Therapist when I had to vent during a workout. The end result for me, working with Leila, is a spirit raised in energy and a body toned over 50! Leila you are a workout guru and I recommend everyone I know, looking for a real trainer, to you. Your first impression of the pool will probably be wow it's large with so many lanes and many areas where you can just swim or float to your hearts content. Another impression might be and it was especially for me the bright blue water of the pool. It looks refreshing, cool, and inviting. Deep Eddiy pool has a oblong shape typical of large pools of its size. The pool has architecturally clean lines with precise corners. When you stand on the pool platform the vastness of the pool rushes to the forefront. Everytime I stick my foot in the water of the Deep Eddy pool, that cool refreshing feeling envelopes my body. Entry fees are very reasonable and can beas low as $2 per day. Paid parking is available in front of the pool and on the street. Nice relaxing self-care day...
