Have you ever shit your pants and been proud of it? Me neither. (Looks both ways) But if I did, I'd want it to be at Atomic Athlete - fighting my way through the ascent of a new all-time personal record back squat. Red-faced, with bloodshot eyes, and a barbell on my back clad with 10 plates. I imagine it'd be one of my proudest moments of my training career. . . . Involuntary BMs aside . . . If you're looking to set some new personal records of your own (or just looking for a great community to train with) - these guys have what it takes to get you where you want to go (and far beyond). Whether you're a competitive cyclist, back-country hunter, martial artist, powerlifter, trail runner, warfighter, or just a normal guy or gal who fancies mimosas on the weekends (and sometimes Friday mornings) . . . If you train with Atomic Athlete and adhere to the programming, you WILL hit personal records. Over and over and over and over and over again (in the words of Marshawn Lynch). All jokes aside. I love this place. I love the programming. I love the community that it's created. And I love the guys that created it and made the rest possible. They are some of the sharpest in the industry. They apply the scientific method to their programming. And they have the humility to challenge themselves and evaluate what works and what doesn't. They're hella kind and fun too. If you're reading this, intrigued, I encourage you come over to Atomic Athlete to check it out.

This gym has been my home away from home for 3 years. I joined after months of pleasantly persistent "it'll be fun to do together" nudges from my boyfriend and I'm glad I gave in. I've always been fit but also pretty stubborn. I was happy with my body, but my mental fitness was MIA. The coaches have constantly pushed me and I've never been more proud of my abilities. Granted, there are still days I show up and get my ass kicked because I'm not eating/ sleeping/ feel depressed/ my shoulders hurt, etc; those are the days that make you. Leave your ego at the door, everyone suffers together...suffers HARD. But it's an amazing feeling- no feeling sorry for yourself. It's training, not working out. There are 4-6 week cycles that focus on improving different areas (your strength, stamina, or work capacity); every session has a purpose. That's the answer to WHY do I need to do this? To be stronger, faster, harder to kill!

Awesome space with plenty of room for "activities"

Maya is incredible!…read more I'm an enthusiastic martial artist, but it's been a long road over the last year and a half to reclaiming my body, getting back in shape, and understanding my own definition of "healthy" again. Maya was recommended to me through some of the senior students at my dojo, and I'm thrilled that I worked up the nerve to start working with her. I'm amazed at what I've been able to accomplish through my sessions with her. In just a couple months I more than doubled many of my metrics, I've lost ten pounds, and my stamina hasn't been this great since I was an athlete in high school. My core strength in particular - I don't know that it's ever been this good. I started working with Maya to be a better martial artist, and the results speak for themselves. Three months ago I was struggling to control my kicks enough to keep my leg chambered after a kick, and now I don't ever have to set my foot down between kicks if I don't want to. My sparring is faster and more controlled, and I have much better balance. Not only has my strength improved significantly, but my eating habits have improved as well. Maya reviews my food logs and coaches me on my habits, educates me on how food affects my sleep and resting state, and has helped me accept when I falter from my diet and has helped me continue despite missteps without self-criticism. It's been a wonderful experience and I look forward to continuing!

I incorporate my love of martial arts and obstacle racing into tough but fun training programs designed specifically for your goals, body type and abilities. I had a consultation with Noah a few months ago now, about my wants and needs of personal training. I already do Muay Thai and running on my own. I wanted to add some strength training in but it's been awhile and needed some direction. I filled out very thorough paperwork. I was matched with one of the trainers, Brett, and I couldn't be happier. There are different packages to accommodate all needs and budget. Overall I am happy and would recommend. They also have group classes but I haven't done so I can't comment on that.

JoJo was perfect! Great fun, great workouts, didn't let me slack, and really paid attention to technique - because she listened to me and observed my movements, I was able to do more than I thought I could (since I hadn't done anything for 2 years) and feel so much better physically and mentally! While I didn't participate in the group sessions, they were going on when I was doing my personal sessions -- looked and heard like a super group of friendly people who are all there to do the right thing, have fun as a group while getting into shape and learning to work out the right way. Noah and his team are doing fitness right! Highly recommend Lumos Fitness Collective - best gym ever!

The coaches are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and know how to push you! Dorian led this class and was fantastic, really making sure you got the most of the workout & doing a great job of motivating and pushing you to finish up the last reps! The workouts alternate every other day between weight- lifting or cardio focused, and the specific workouts at each station are always changing! I'd highly recommend if you live in the area to check them out! They do have a few dedicated parking spots in front of the building OR you can always park for free at the Amli parking garage! Every day there is a different training routine with new exercises, so no chance to get bored. Your mind and your body will be very thankful for that. The playlist during workouts is very chill and empowering at the same time. It makes me feel like I am an Olympic Games participant If you are looking for a gym where you will be a part of great team - F-45 is for you. And if you are looking for personal trainings - surprise, F-45 is also a good match. It's a paradox, but I feel like it's a team workout and personal training at the same time! You will be working out on your own station, but there's always a coach around you in case you have some questions. It made me feel like I was on the personal training session. There are always two coaches that support and guide you through all workouts. COVID updates: the gym is very clean. After warm up you will receive your personal sanitizer and a small towel for cleaning your station. Before entering gym coaches will check your temperature. After each training all equipment is sanitized with machine that looks like the blaster from the "Ghostbusters" movie I cannot recommend a particular class or coach because I liked all of them so far. What I can recommend for sure, is to check out this F-45 south shore location. You're gonna love it!

People walking around shirtless, dripping sweat, stinking, in bare feet, only socks, crocs, and Teva sandles. Nasty. Old dilapidated and low quality dumbbells, only 2 old treadmills and a few of the manual treadmills, no fixed weight barbells, a bathroom falling apart with the toilet bowl cover hanging on by one hinge. No air conditioning. Hot and smelly. Humid atmosphere. Couldn't draw up a worse gym in my imagination. To me it's 1 star but I guess to cross fit cultists this is what they like. Only a few smoothie choices and no chicken wraps or anything in their nutrition bar or whatever it's called. If you know how to work out and don't need or want a trainer or group then this place is definitely not for you. They do an incredible job on marketing and must edit photos or take superb angles like a catfish on tinder. Almost thinking they pay influencers to hype this place up. Either way I'd prefer the most basic Planet Fitness or Crunch 100x over this. In fact I'd rather get chubby and not work out over having to work out in an environment like this again.
