I loved the no nonsense workout routine at HEAT. It's a no frills focused bootcamp style workout. Both instructors I've experienced were superb at helping modify and focus on getting a good workout in rather than doing moves without efficacy. My Saturday session was quite full but Thursday was only 6 of us. The group varied in experience and intensity so you never felt left behind and always had someone to observe and feel inspired by. read more

What a workout! I had my first HEAT total body - strength and stability workout with Billy and felt good and burned a number of calories to boot. I was a little apprehensive about boot camp workouts before coming here but I can see how effective they are as you keep moving during these workouts and get some cardio conditioning too. Good form is encouraged and the instructor goes from station to station to motivate and to help with modifications. Plus you get a killer playlist to listen to and people of all fitness levels to workout with. Looking forward to incorporate Heat into my exercise routine. read more

Haider is the man! He was so nice and let a bunch of our friends do a Murph on Memorial Day. Music rocked. Great vibes. Highly recommend!

I've always been involved in weight-lifting / running at the gym, however, that would only last a handful of months before I got bored of routine. Insert HEAT Boot Camp; Coaches are top-notch, providing new weekly work-outs to alleviate any potential of routine/burn-out, provide in-work out modifications/tweaks in case you're doing the exercise incorrectly or forget the move, good music/playlists, and will push you to the max if you'd like. Some of the best work-outs thus far = EMOM, Trick/Treat, Sandbag, and several others that I cannot remember. Overall Review: 5 months into membership and I really enjoy going to class, seeing noticeable differences, and ready for the next "new" work-out. read more

I'm not usually someone who is great about sticking to a gym (or working out in general). I've tried just about every class option in Austin, and the only place I keep going back to is HEAT. The coaches are top notch. Equal parts knowledge, fun and discipline. Each has their own style, but I have never left a class disappointed (or dry !). The classes are challenging, and push me to be a better me, without being unobtainable. And modifications are always not only allowed but encouraged to meet every capability. The equipment and the atmosphere are amazing. They have everything you could need, they incorporate tons of variety in the movement and use, and the space is always clean. I leave every class panting and raving about the movements we did. But the best part is the community. Heat has built a family, one that is open to every single person that walks through that door. The regulars to the first timers, we are all One. I always recommend people try a few different spots and workouts to really find their vibe, but then come home to HEAT. We'll all be there waiting to welcome you! read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed my favorite place in Austin! Cool spot, great workouts, stellar team, lovely community. From Jaz and Leigh at the front to (in no particular order) Seth, Dustin, Danny, Zach, Jennie, Sarah, Kiel, Billy, and the rest of the crew in the studio, to Cody's role as patriarch of all things Heat, it's just great. I love how classes are offered by upper and lower body and that total body is always an option. Trainers put together great workouts and are happy to help you modify. Form is a big deal here, so if a coach is giving you advice in class, it's for a very good reason so listen. Personal training is very reasonably priced for what you get. I've worked with Danny and Dustin and adore them both. If you're reading this and it's still COVID, the protocols they have in place make it extremely safe, and everyone here has been super respectful about wearing masks, social distancing, and being good humans. They also have outdoor camps if that's better for you! read more

So I was coming into town for a few days and wanted to get a good work out session in and Cody answered my email immediately upon my request. He was so helpful and accommodating and got my first work our free! I did upper body with Zack who was very welcoming from the moment I got there. Going to a new gym to work out can be intimidating but he made me feel so welcomed. The class itself had good structure for the work outs, the exercises were demonstrated before hand so it was easy to follow, and was set up for COVID precautions which I appreciated. It was a great work out, burned a ton of calories, and thoroughly enjoyed it. read more

This place is INCREDIBLE. You learn so many new workouts and work so many muscles than you ever would from going to a gym by yourself. It's basically personal training but in a small group setting. I've only gone to 20 classes so far and the results are outstanding. Very grateful and happy that I started going here. Kim and Fabiola are my favorite trainers. They're the only ones I really go to tbh. Their workouts and the way they engage with everyone is top notch. Not trying to throw anyone else under the bus but they really are the absolute best that I've experienced so far, especially for newcomers. Get the 14 day trial for $50, it's 100% worth it and worth checking out. Ended up canceling my $30 monthly membership at Planet Fitness and am now doing $150/month for HEAT and I have zero regrets. That's how good it is. I never got these results at another gym by myself and reserving a class makes you feel more accountable for going so I appreciate the extra motivation. I would 100% recommend. read more

I've been in Austin for a little over 6 months and this is my favorite HIIT workout I've tried here to date. It's straightforward, no fuss, and the instructors bring their personality to every class. The workouts are very challenging, sometimes the warm-ups alone kick my butt! But you get to choose your intensity level and the coach always offers a lower impact movement if you need it. There's definitely a great community here but it isn't forced upon you. Even the membership fees are more attractive than other workouts in the area. So overall I'm sore, but hooked! 100% recommend. read more

I've been going to heat for 3 years and the community is as great as the workout. Everything is approachable and you can tailor your workout to your fitness level. The coaches are fun and keep it entertaining. read more

Best Bootcamp in Austin. The trainers bring the energy, challenge, and best playlists. It's a great community and I enjoy walking in - I've never left a workout and had regret or left wanting more. Hands down best challenging workout and community. read more

I moved to Austin three years ago. I was a member of Equinox but decided to try out this small gym tucked away in a small centre because it was within walking distance of my home. It was a lucky strike! I love this place; HEAT, the trainers, the facility, all of it. The location is spotless; everyone is warm, friendly, and helpful. My trainer, Sara Enouen, is exceptional, the best trainer I have ever worked with, and I have worked with many in NYC and Los Angeles. I'm the strongest and in the best shape of my life. I feel great and have been able to work harder and deeper without injuries. I highly recommend the gym and its trainers. It is the best experience of my time in Austin so far. read more

It's a win-win-win situation here! (1) The fact that it's an in-door bootcamp (2) they accept class pass (3) tabata is a kick ass workout! The instructors are very friendly, they do not have that MMA attitude like they are better than you, they provide you with modification with the workout. The tabata classes are large in # of ppl attending so be prepared. read more

I've only been to two classes so far but I love it!! A little intimidating bc the members seem to all be way more fit than myself, but instructors are always willing to give alternative exercises and show you proper form along with being encouraging :) read more

HEAT is the best! I have been going for 3 months now and I am hooked! The staff and instructors go out of there way to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. You will get a killer workout in and get in shape fast! The workouts are different every time with multiple different exercises. The instructors are great at correcting form and pushing you to your limit. I am so thankful for this place! read more

I've never actually attended an in person class, but this gym has a stellar staff that has gone above and beyond to not only produce exceptional video workouts, create resourceful workouts for those stuck at home with limited commitment and provide their gym community with equipment, but they've extended all of this at no cost. I will go out of my way to attend a class here the next time I'm in Austin. I have been doing their workouts everyday since shelter in place began (I am in CA) and have never felt better or been in such great shape. Thank you, HEAT Bootcamp! read more

I have really enjoyed my membership at Heat! You get such a great work out for the price. And also if you have an injury or not as in shape as you used to be (referring to myself here, lol) then the instructors are very attentive and help you with some alternative exercises. I don't know how they do it while still keeping the rest of the group engaged. My favorite is Dustin. His energy is so upbeat and positive, exactly what I need to keep me going through a challenging workout sesh. When I moved to Austin from San Diego I looked around for group fitness classes and was shocked at how expensive they were, but I am so grateful I found Heat with their reasonable dues. Also, due to Covid, I just found out they are beginning outdoor workouts with the first week free! I highly recommend this gym; such a good vibe, value, and workouts! read more

Huuuuge shout out to Cody, Sarah, Seth, Jennie, Megan, Greg & Dustin and the entire HEAT team! After the gym closed, I wondered how I'd get enough motivation to work out 3 or 4 times a week let alone everyday. They have live streamed, and recorded such creative, motivational and judgement free videos for everyone regardless of fitness level. I love the diversity of each workout and more so how each trainer drills down proper form and technique throughout - from using gym weights, to using household items as weights to just body weight exercises. All these great workouts - at no cost! Pretty sure I've done more burpees in the last month than in my entire life prior. Thank you, Heat Bootcamp! read more

HEAT is a great workout studio for people of all skill levels, ages, shapes and sizes! The coaches put together workouts that are challenging but have options to modify based on what you want to focus on or any special needs. It is also very convenient to be able to book classes online, and they do a good job of offering multiple classes throughout the day. It is also a very welcoming and friendly community- all the coaches are great! I could not recommend HEAT enough! They are currently doing free online classes due to COVID-19 shutdowns, which have been awesome to do at home. If you're looking for a workout class then they are a top contender in Austin! read more

Having taken an upper body focused bootcamp session with Cody and a Tabata class with Sarah I'm pretty impressed with this place. I'm always a bit wary of big group workouts because it's easy to get things wrong - but both times, despite the relatively big classes (15 ish people), I felt like my form was being checked with every exercise - much much more personalised than other bootcamp style workouts around. Music is motivating and fun - workouts are super varied and well structured to burn you out / keep you moving. A great, clean, well equipped studio space - showers and free lockers. And the crowd of people are welcoming / friendly / a good mix of genders / in rocking good shape (always a good sign!) I'll definitely be maxing out my classpass use here - I leave red faced, wild haired and exhausted and I ache like hell the next day. Perfect! read more

Alright, so I am one of those people that if you put me in a gym, I will just dwadle. I am not one to push myself at the gym.... I just hate going. But the experience here has been unlike any other. At first, I thought that whole boot camp experience would not be for me until a friend told me about HEAT and her results. So hubby and I decided to check it out one evening and talked to one of the HEAT trainers and let us try out a class. Fast forward about a month and I could not rave enough about this place. Sure the first week was brutal, I could barely walk properly due to the muscle soreness, but I didn't let that stop me. After about a week I was able to move without soreness and I have noticed an increase in endurance as well as some toning, which is what I wanted. Now to describe how HEAT works... each class has a theme, upper body, lower body, and conditioning. The exercises are done in intervals and you rotate through various stations in accordance to the theme of the class. The instructors are super nice, they won't yell at you (as you would expect in a boot camp), but rather encourage you and help you with your form and may come up with ways of grading the actual exercises up or down in accordance to your abilities. The equipment used can vary from dumbbells, bosu balls, medicine balls, sand bags, and TRX bands. There is always a variety and I just love the fact that there are various times that you can attend class to accommodate your schedule. Anyway that you put it, this place is probably one of the best places to work out, I have definetely seen the results. Totally recommend! read more

HEAT is great! The class is tough enough to push yourself, or make modifications to your level. I've been taking classes for a few months now, and I'm still loving it. read more

If you are looking for a personal trainer call HEAT! Sarah is amazing and will match you with the trainer that fits your personality. I'm extremely happy with their service. Brendon Fellows is my trainer now and he is the best I have ever known! I was in the fitness industry for 10 years and hired many trainers so I'm hyper aware of good trainers this place is top notch! Thank you Heat and thank you Brendon!!! read more

I found H.E.A.T. Boot Camp through my friend Stephanie, who I met through another boot camp we both attended this past fall. Needless to say, we both defected when our fitness goals were not being met. This is only my second week at HEAT and I can honestly say this is the best boot camp/fitness instruction I have ever done! (and this is my fourth boot camp...two in SF, two in Austin). The owner/head trainer, Cody, is incredibly motivating without being cheerleadery-y or dictatorial. His workouts are extremely challenging and creative, so you never feel like you know what to expect from one class to the next (which is great motivation for those early am workouts). On Saturday mornings, he joins all his camps (he has coed, women-only, men-only and elite camps) for "game days". Last Saturday was a giant-scale Easter egg hunt at Zilker park, with each egg filled with a different exercise for us to do...This weekend is Cardio Tennis. It's just like PE: you're having too much fun to remember you're working your arse off! Unlike the other camp my friend and I left this fall, Cody is able to offer each participant a challenging workout, regardless of varying fitness levels and injuries. It's really like having a personal trainer for the price of group fitness. Genius. read more

WAHHHHHHH! That was probably what I sounded like by the time I got to my tenth round of kettle ball squats. Today is the post day of the intense 45 minute workout and I am limping, sore in a good way and glad I tested it out. This place is open/spacious. I went to a Leg, butt and core bootcamp with Jenn. There were about 25 people in this class. She managed to provide attention and improvement tips to those of us struggling. Definitely glad I let her know about my bad knees because she provided modifications. It was a hard but fun class. Everyone else was so into their thing, you don't feel awkward that you're slower or lagging behind. In 45 minutes, you're doing a series of leg exercises for a certain # of reps then doing 4 rounds of 5 different circuits. WHATTT. Thank you for the butt whooping. read more

I learned about Austin HEAT Bootcamp through a program at work, and while I haven't had the pleasure of working out with them at their gym yet, they've been a staple for quarantine workouts. All of the coaches are knowledgeable, supportive, genuine people with great senses of humor and they've been a big part of providing a sense of normalcy during these weird times. Thank you for continuing to offer free workouts during the pandemic--I have no reason not to work out because the gym is literally at the foot of my bed, ready to greet me when I need a nudge to get up :D read more

It is difficult for me to put into words how much I love HEAT. This month marks my one year anniversary as a member, and after taking every type of class with every trainer on staff, I can with absolute certainty say that they are the best in town. The Workout: Every workout is challenging. You are encouraged to give your best, but not at the expense of your health or safety. Every exercise is accompanied with some type of modification if you have knee/wrist/shoulder issues, or if you're still ramping up your fitness game. If I had to rank classes in order of difficulty (as measured by aerobic exertion), I'd say: 1) Tabata: you're packing an hour's worth of work into 45 or 35 minutes, so the pace is fast and furious. Think sprint for 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds, rinse, and repeat. 2) Full-Body Conditioning: Typically a mix of both lower and upper body exercises with an emphasis on cardio elements. 3) Butt, Legs, & Core: typically rotating stations of squats, lunges, deadlifts, etc. While this may or may not incorporate traditional cardio, your heart will get pumping from moving around all those weights. 4) Upper Body: typically rotating stations that combo rows, curls, presses, etc. Usually the least amount of "cardio," but you should choose challenging weights to get the most out of it. The Trainers: Undoubtedly, the best part of HEAT. The team that they've managed to put together here is incredible. Every single trainer is experienced, dedicated, and plain fun. How did so many happy, awesome people end up working in one place? Every trainer uses encouragement and reinforcement to push you to give your best--not shouty, drill sergeant tactics. TL;DR: Since joining HEAT last year and attending 3-5 classes per week, I'm now in the best shape of my life. The trainers and campers there feel like family. HEAT, I would be lost (and fat) without you. read more

I absolutely love HEAT Boot Camp. When I first started HEAT, I considered myself in shape. However, after the first class, I found out that was not the case. After just a week of HEAT, I noticed a huge improvement in my core, my endurance, and my strength. Cody does a tremendous job of motivating you to push harder each session. The other thing I love about HEAT is the vast array of workouts Cody gives you. One day you will do circuit training for your core, and the next you go swimming or boxing. You'll sweat, you'll work your butt off, you may even cry, but one thing's for sure...HEAT Boot Camp will put you in shape! read more

I love HEAT bootcamp! This is the first gym I've gone to where I have been able to see true changes in my body, learn how to lift weights properly (previously a cardio feen), gain a fit family and community of people supporting me-- all while having fun! The classes are new and different while challenging you to the level best for you; coaches are great, fun and always provide modifications as needed. Highly recommend this gym! read more

I've been to a few workouts now with various trainers at various times of the day, and I have to say the staff I have met so far have all been amazing! The place is very clean, has nearly every piece of equipment you could imagine, and they make a wonderful use of the space. The trainers all seem to really know their stuff and they keep workouts engaging. I have been to a number of gyms and group exercise classes, and none have been as consistently awesome as HEAT. The trainers seem to really enjoy teaching and giving it their all. The Tabata workouts are great for someone like me that gets bored easily. 30 or 40 seconds on with 10 seconds of rest. By the time u think u might give up, it's time for a break. Don't get me wrong, it's not easy by any means! The workouts are over before you know it! I could go on, but there are plenty of reviews to tell the story. You can't go wrong with a business with that many consistent 5 star reviews. read more

I remembered to write a review for HEAT now that I'm living in North Austin. My challenge is to find somewhere up here that's as great as HEAT was for me when I lived south. Genuinely the best workout classes and most welcoming community of trainers and classes I've ever found; consistently challenging and fun. I really miss it! read more

I am more of a runner, and I am pretty set in my ways, but I genuinely enjoyed the bootcamp experience. I am not much of a weight lifter/etc, so that mix of cardio, weights, etc was kinda nice. It was not completely unbearable, but was also a nice mix to my normal habits. I would definitely recommend this place to a novice or expert. Cody was very accommodating and helped with form/etc. I hear that all of their trainers are equally as friendly - I just happened to attend a class that Cody was teaching. read more

I started HEAT last year in the Fall and was going 3 times a week regularly. It took me about 2 weeks to start seeing noticeable results, but more than anything I felt so much better! Unfortunately work got in the way and I started traveling at the beginning of 2011, so I have just been able to pick it back up on a regular basis. Everyday you go in there, you are going to get a great work out. The trainers are able to give a lot of personal attention to ensure you are maximizing your effort. I had my first football game last night and found myself not even tired, because the workouts at HEAT had prepared me for it. It is also great, because they have their own facility, so when it is 1000 degrees outside, you have a place to workout and same goes for the winter. No rolling around in the grass in the middle of summer! read more

SERIOUSLY good workout. Like kick your booty, cannot walk for 3 days type workout. I have done both the Total Body Conditioning and also the Butt, Legs & Core classes and I love them both. The classes follow a circuit/tabata structure which makes the classes fly by and you are constantly doing something different. I feel like I hit a plateau with my workouts sometimes because I get so bored and am constantly looking at the clock, but this is not the case at HEAT. Step outside of your comfort zone and try this out! I consider myself pretty pathetic (5 or 8 pound weight club, heyyyyyy) so I was nervous to try this at first but it is less intimidating than I expected and you will NOT regret it! If I didn't travel so much for work and relied on ClassPass in other cities, I would seriously consider just getting an unlimited membership at HEAT. read more

Definitely recommend this boot camp. I was looking to get more toned and felt like I was getting no where with my workouts...until I started the co-ed boot camp. It completely makes a difference to be out of the gym and around others - the workouts are not typical workouts - but in a good way. Plus, I had worked with a few personal trainers in the past and was never really satisfied. Cody, the owner/lead trainer has really listened to me helped me develop a plan for my personal goals. I guess it's the different activities we do that has helped put me over my plateau. Very pleased and would recommend to beginners, more advanced, or just people in the middle - like me. read more

I feels like they have nice balls......... and mirrors. Very welcoming and friendly. I loved the atmosphere. Cody R. is an attentive guy and helps out when you're thinking what? GAHhh I REALLY REALLY really thought it was going to be that can't eat, can't sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, world series kind of stuff. I just wanted to love this and wanted to come back again and again. I think I be too intimidated in a large class and wonder how that small space can fit close to 30 people. Its great and fun but at the end of the day... i rather have weights at the gym and machines than random exercises. So that's why I don't want to judge too harshly. Or say it felt like warm up stretches... I didn't really feel a oh my I'm going to be sore that was crazy by doing everything in its entirety. I just felt, at least the class I was in, was more for newbies and beginners and I got bored too fast... like eh don't feel like it anymore. I get bored easily though and then lose my attention span and then start to taper off and not be into it. I can see how this be great for people trying to get into a routine or better shape starting at ground zero. Or people who aren't super ADD haha. Maybe I'll go once or twice more, give it another shot. If boot camps are your thing this would be a great choice. Thanks for the workout!!! read more

I've never really been a gym person but HEAT got me addicted. The instructors and community are great and these classes always do so much for my mental and physical well-being. A great local gym that I always look forward to read more

I can honestly say HEAT Bootcamp is one of the best things I've ever done for myself. I was feeling lethargic, unhappy with the way my body looked and in desperate need of some motivation, so I Googled boot camps in Austin and started reading. Most of them seemed the same -- except HEAT, which professed get you in shape while taking advantage of what the city has to offer by training downtown, on the hike and bike trail, on Town Lake (or Lady Bird, if you must ...) and at Barton Springs. I signed up expecting to get in a few good workouts and hopefully be inspired to get my flabby butt back to the gym. It sounds cliché, but what I got was so much more. HEAT is a little community in itself, where you'll meet amazing people; learn a ton about your body, good nutrition and exercising correctly; and, most importantly, experience some of the most hardcore, exhausting, fun and rewarding workouts you've ever been proud to brag to your friends about the next day. From laughing through a raucous round of kayak water polo and beating the hell out of a heavy bag at Richard Lord's boxing gym to teaming up to win holiday-themed adventure races and suffering through Cody's infamous "Bells and Balls" torture sessions, I've loved (and sweated profusely through) every minute. What was meant to be a month-long trial has turned into 5 months and counting, and I haven't been in this kind of shape since college. Through it all, I've made great friends and pushed myself to new fitness heights, thanks to Cody's expertise, patience and guidance. I even got brave enough to train for my very first triathlon -- something I never in a million years thought I would do. HEAT really is for people of all ages, sizes, fitness levels and walks of life. Come work out with us -- you'll never look back! read more

I'm going to sum this up fast : It takes a special person to boss me around.. I've been training with Marshall since Jan... I am stronger, leaner, and more focused than I have ever been with my health. He is supportive, encouraging , and knows what he is doing. read more

I've been in the 6AM camp for a few weeks now, and I couldn't be happier. The workouts are varied enough to keep things interesting, and the training is incredibly personalized - especially considering that you're in a group setting. Our trainer (Cody) manages to keep things moving without being a jerk about it - it's actually full-on fun! I don't have any particular physical issues myself, but I've watched as he adjusts routines to accommodate bad backs, knees, etc. so that everyone gets their money's worth. I agree with the previous reviewer who said Saturday's are damned fun - you get to enjoy some good old-fashioned competition while whipping your butt into shape. I'd recommend this program to any of my friends. read more
