Impressive gym with the right equipment to get strong. Always many open pieces of equipment and was never crowded. Also the 24 hours access is a huge plus. Extremely friendly staff who remembered my name after just a few visits. Reminds me of what a gym should feel like. Friendly, local and genuine. Partners in your fitness journey. In addition, the staff and members were very diligent around cleaning the equipment during the Covid-19 era. Felt no fear using the equipment or risking any exposure. TLDR: Iron vault is a weightlifting gym with new equipment and excellent management. There are so many pros, I'm just going to list them out: easy sign-up, fair price, 24 hour access, helpful and friendly staff, roomy with plenty of weights to go around, not overcrowded, and painless cancellation. FeV is a solid gym. After Ignite Fitnez closed, I was looking for a local gym south of the river. I wanted a gym where I could continue to grow stronger, grow better. What I like about FeV is it's (to me) an old-school style barbell gym. There's a dozen racks. There's specialty bars like an EliteFTS SS Yoke, a Swiss/Football bar, Buffalo bar, trap bar; and things like chains and bands. There's platforms for deadlifting (including bumper plates). I even appreciate touches like how the DB's go up in 2.5 lb increments at the lower weights; the providing of liquid chalk; and ample cleaning supplies to help you do your part in keeping your gym clean and sanitary (the staff does a great job of keep things clean, but good gym patrons do their part too). Oh yeah, 24/7 access is a big plus too. For sure, it's not suitable for all needs - different gyms for different goals. For example, there's not much strongman equipment here. But for general lifting, powerlifting, strength building, bodybuilding, general "lifting weights" based fitness... it's good gym that should suit folks well. read more

Great gym in South Austin! Predominantly a lifting gym but didn't have any issues finding space to do body weight/other exercises. Run by Veterans but inclusive to all. As a woman, I've never had a problem here. Everyone was respectful and helpful when/if asked. Front desk spotter José is a chill guy. Mostly white people if that's important to you. The owner, James, is responsive to emails and will even get more/new equipment for all to use if requested by gym-goers. They listen to their patrons and occasionally have social events. Also, there's a good blend of lifters and people with their trainers so it's not as intimidating. Also, as a fat person, I never felt judged for going to Iron Vault. Either on my own or with a trainer. Everyone was basically nice and there's plenty of equipment so definitely check it out. Well-priced too! They increased rates to provide a more livable wage for their staff and there was a great response from gym members. Good vibes all around. 11/10 read more

Came to FeV this past Monday for the first time to check it out after following them on Instagram for a little bit. They did not disappoint, after one lifting session at the Iron Vault I immediately canceled my membership at the YMCA in Buda and went back to FeV to sign up for my monthly membership here, it's a longer drive to get to the Iron Vault but it's worth it. Not saying that the YMCA is bad at all, it's just different with a focus on different things, the Y is great for families or if you want classes and a pool. If you just want to LIFT FeV is your place. the equipment is immaculate (it's brand new so that makes sense) the folks who work there are great, they keep the place clean and are very attentive and are ready and able to give you a spot if you need it. There is something about this place that just makes you want to push yourself and progress, get that one extra rep, put up just a little more weight, work just a little harder. I look forward to continuing to progress and better myself at this gym. read more

Hidden gem in Austin! This gym is brand new, clean, and has absolutely everything you need for basic powerlifting, bodybuilding, or general fitness. The base bars are all Rouge power bars and and I lost count of the amount of squat racks they have. I got the vibe from the staff that it's a very chill environment. They were happy to let me try the gym out for free for my first visit and offered spotting and taking videos of my lifts for me. Overall, if you lift or are interest in starting to lift, you owe yourself at least one visit to this gym to at least get your hands on some brand new equipment. And for a $5 guest pass you can't beat this place for visiting out of town. read more

It's a good place to pick stuff up and put it back down! I just started lifting here but so far I have nothing but positive things to say. I'm a night owl that works weird hours so the 24/7 access and convenient location is essential; and the no bullshit, minimalist approach is really appreciated. There are no gimmicks or distractions, it's a less is more type of gym so it's perfect if you just want a place to show up and focus on lifting. The gym is compact but well equipped and it's laid out in a way where everything is easy to find and you never feel too exposed or on the spot; there's no intimidation for a beginner lifter like me, even though it clearly caters towards lifters well beyond my current skill level. James is also super attentive! I misunderstood the process to get in well after hours and on a weekend my first night, sent an email to start it once I realized I couldn't unlock the door and by the time I was home James had texted me asking if I was still there so he could buzz me in remotely. I came in as a drop-in while my usual gym was closed for the Christmas holidays. It's a great space with great equipment. No frills or isolation machines (which, come on - if you're using those you're not really about serious weightlifting.) They have plenty of squat racks, plenty of plates, plenty of benches, staple accessory machines and a few platforms for deadlifts or oly style. Clean, sensibly priced, and generally good vibe. What a breath of fresh air from the traditional globo gyms! Every single piece of equipment is new and top notch. No expense was spared in outfitting this place - which clearly shows a great amount of pride in the business they have built. It is a gym geared towards pure weightlifting so you won't find battle ropes, sleds or weighted tires. There are a couple of cardio machines and plenty of space if you want to do a little finisher lung burner. The vibe is SUPER chill. As a lady lifter I was a little skeptical about the douche-bagery I might encounter. I've been multiple times now and much to my chagrin everyone is pleasant, focused and the douchery non-existent. My home gym is a garage style gym so I was a little worried the indoor gym would have the AC blasting, which makes lifting uncomfortable for some folks (myself included). Indoor temps on all my visits has been kept just right, not too cold, not too hot. Another small detail that clues you on the quality of the place. Standard things you expect in a gym are there such as water fountains, showers, lockers, bands and mobility tools. They even got liquid chalk for community use! If you're looking for a comfortable and easy going place to get strong AF, definitely check this place out! read more

This gym isn't going to wow you with glamour, but who goes to a gym for interior design? There's very little in terms of machines, but they have all the weights you could want. Ive never seen all the squat racks full at the same time, and I love the deadlift platforms. It's not a very large gym, but it's always very clean (including the bathrooms) and the owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. Everything is always organized, and I've never had to go searching for weights. Would recommend! read more

I came here after Ignite Fitness closed and I absolutely love this gym. New equipment with everything you could ever need (with plenty of squat racks). Clean bathrooms, great staff and management, it's open 24hrs, has plenty of parking AND they have a massage gun/vibrating foam roller for everyone to use. It's alright I guess. Tons of racks and lifting platforms. That's about it. Equipment is average for a gym. Iron plates, not coded in anything, just cheap iron plates. There are better independent gyms though in South Austin. Check out Liberations Barbell. Has a much better community. read more

To start, the parking lot of the gym is in need of serious help. Multiple pot holes that could take out a tire easily. Next the gym itself. It's an extremely small space. If you are looking to have a rack or deadlift platform, you will never have to wait. That is true. However, they are definitely low quality racks and weights and just crammed together. The dumbbell area is super small and there isn't enough room to have more benches making you have to wait to do some dumbbells. There is only one cable tower and every morning I went I had to wait to do a cable routine. Locker rooms are really small and they smelt bad as well. That's the gym. Literally just a ton of cheap racks, extremely small dumbbell area, and small cable tower. Nothing else. They talk about spotters and all that on their website but it's literally just a guy on their phone at the desk like every other gym. They charge double for what you can pay at Golds and it's way too small of a space for that price. Now for the trainer they recommend. Patrick Davis literally just scammed me. He no showed on 2 of 6 sessions I had scheduled with him and was over 10 minutes late to every other session (each session long is only 60 minutes so being 15 minutes late is kind of a lot). In the sessions he did show to he vaped consistently (guess vaping is allowed in FeV Gym?) and was on his phone most of it too. He promised diet and meal guidance that I never got. I asked for a refund for all these reasons, which he agreed too after being called out. He then turned around a few days later and said he was strapped for cash and couldn't provide a refund. I said that isn't right since he agreed and I didn't get half of what i paid for. I'm still waiting on half the refund that he said he'd pay me over a few months. Which was now months ago. He posts daily on Instagram that he is making bank so I'm confused on how he can't pay me. I have the screen shots of all the texts if anyone is interested. FeV Gym recommends Patrick Davis on their site (he's actually listed as their #2 recommended). They use him as free advertising. Pretty scary of them endorsing such a shady "trainer." Fits the gym. I recommend Golds at half the price or if you can spare the extra cash do Lifetime. read more

This place is awesome. The guy that greeted me was cool, the place was super clean, and they aimed to please. It wasn't packed out like all the big name gyms. I could actually get my routine done quick without having to wait on people. I am very impressed.
