Just like me, I'm sure you've seen the franchises scattered all over the nation... I now understand…read morewhy there are so many Orangetheory Fitness (OTF) addicts! If your fitness goals include getting heart healthy, losing weight, etc OTF is the perfect place to start. I signed up for my first complimentary class online, and was contacted by the store manager, Dorothy, via phone call & text a few times. When I finally was able to schedule, I was able to easily text back and state when I wanted to come in. If the class has availability, you'll be able to get booked. For your first class, it's suggested to come early to sign forms and to familiarize yourself with the equipment and terms. My coach for the first class was Becky. I loved how welcoming Becky was and I felt comfortable coming in for my first fitness class since pre-covid. I love how Becky keeps you accountable. For my follow-up class, Mickey blew me away. Mickey has SO much energy and with the addition of her playlist, YOU ARE READY TO ROCK THIS!! Now for the cons... since these are essentially group fitness classes, if you are new to exercises, not much of a breakdown is provided. Form is important to me coming from an exercise science background. If your form is all wrong, you could easily injure yourself. The lack of space in between members doesn't help either for those needing modification/accommodations. Lastly, for new members, companies are typically supposed to overhype their product/s to the customer. Instead, service fell flat. I wanted OTF to sell it to me! Why OTF and not just any other gym or boutique studio? What's the purpose of purchasing OTF's heart rate monitors v wearing my own Fitbit/Apple watch? Why are splat points important? Questions I'll never have the answer to.

Ok so I started coming to this gym about two months ago. I tried the "free" day and signed up that…read moreday. My billing period started that day so technically it wasn't a "free" day:/ At first I thought it might be a little intimidating because it is an hour workout. The workout is typically broken out into three sections: threadmill, rowing, and floor weights. Even though I had never tried the rower, I've learned how to do things with each class. I like that you can go at your own pace so it is doable. I've also tried different coaches who motivate you and give you tips. Knocking a star because some of the machines sometimes have issues or Re broken. Overall I'm really enjoying this gym and already seeing results!

I would give Zero stars if I could…read more.. I signed up for Bootcamp 512 when they had their Groupon deal. My wife and I have been waiting to use our Groupons until this month as she had knee surgery just before the Groupon deal came out. She finally got clearance from her doctor to participate. We went to the website to sign up for the camp starting Jan 3rd, 2011 in the Round Rock location. The website did something strange when we entered our information (kicked us out to another site). I immediately sent an email through the website, stating our intentions to join the camp and asked for further instructions. The weekend went by, and camp was to start on Monday. I called numerous times, and never heard back from Andrew Hall (it's his voicemail that you get when you call the number on the website). I explained to him that we were looking forward to joining the camp on the 3rd and asked what we needed to bring, and where exactly we needed to meet (Old Settler's Park is a huge park, and we knew it would be difficult to find a small group of people in the wee hours of the morning). The weekend came and went, and still we had no call returned to us. We decided that we would try and find the group in the morning. We woke up at 5:30 AM so that we could make the 6:00AM start time. We spent 45 minutes driving through all parts of the park, and could not find the Bootcamp 512 crew. There were no signs, no lights, no people to be found (we did see a couple other cars driving around that also seemed to be lost/looking, but that's it). We have since tried contacting Andrew Hall this afternoon wanting an explanation, and have received no contact from him, or anyone else associated with Bootcamp 512. My advice? Save your money, and find a different Bootcamp. I've had success with Tim Kaderli of Synergy Fitness Bootcamp in the past... I'm hoping everyone else that sent money in to Groupon, or through the Bootcamp 512 site is able to get their money refunded. I'm going to try... I will update this review should Andrew Hall or anyone else from Bootcamp 512 return my call... It's not looking good so far. ******01/31/2011 UPDATE********* This is an update to the posting above. I've added another two stars to my review. We finally heard back from Ericca, the trainer that was in charge of the Round Rock bootcamp site. She clarified where we were to meet and admitted that there was not enough interest in the morning boot camp session, however she did meet at the meeting place that first day (unfortunately, since no one else was there, it was hard finding her in the park). She invited us out to the evening session, and since that worked better for us, we decided to attend the evening classes. Ericca was great. She was fun, friendly, and motivating. She was diligent in making sure that we all kept proper form in conducting the exercises. We attended all of the sessions for the month, and had a great time. I lost about 8 pounds, and improved my mile time by nearly two minutes from the first boot camp session we attended. We are pleased with the training that Ericca provided. However, it sounds as if she will no longer be with Bootcamp 512, so I can only hope that other boot campers that sign up with boot camp 512 have a good experience with their trainer. I'm still miffed that we never heard back in a timely manner after signing up... I don't think it's too much to ask for to have some clarification as to when/where the meetings are when someone is taking your hard earned money. A little bit of communication goes a long way.... Please keep that in mind.

I've actually started to enjoy working out -- even when we are performing exercises that may not be my favorites. Prior to joining boot camp, I had been unable to maintain a workout regimen. (Pick an excuse: too boring, too solitary, too ... [enter excuse here].) Being outdoors with fellow boot campers is a great experience. Barrett is very motivating and encouraging, and there are plenty of laughs and enjoyable conversations to keep you going! I love the flexibility of being able to attend a different class time if you run into a conflict. To date, I have lost inches and can tell (per reps) that I have gotten a lot stronger. I'm a dedicated returning camper! Come join us!
