I stumbled across ASF South a couple of years ago during the summer 2017 while looking for private training sessions for my younger son and myself. It was close to my office and I thought I would give it a try. At the time, we were fortunate enough to be teamed up with David Polisky. From the very start I could tell David was extremely knowledgeable and clearly knew his stuff. After purchasing a couple of packages I went back to doing bootcamps at the studio I had been previously working out. After a year and half of bootcamps and a series of injuries I knew I needed a change. I contacted David in September of 2018 and we have been working out together ever since. Over the years I have worked out with HIIT trainers, Crossfit trainers, box gym trainers, and without a doubt David is one of the best, if not the best trainer around. His breadth of knowledge, attention to detail, level of expertise, commitment to his clients goals and encouragement is second to none. He truly works for the success of his clients inside and outside of the gym. He is more than happy to answer questions about activities to outside of the gym including recovery and nutrition because what happens outside of the gym is just as important or more so than the actual workouts. From my own experience I am much stronger. I don't have the lingering injuries I once had and I have seen improvements in both my flexibility and mobility. What I also enjoy about ASF South is that it is not a boutique gym or a box gym but a great no frills gym with all the equipment one needs to have a great workout with serious trainers who want their clients to succeed in meeting their goals. I began working with David Polisky at the S Lamar location last year because my current fitness routine wasn't working. I was spending 1-2 hours in the gym four days a week, seeing very little results. As a 47 year old who has been an athlete her entire life I couldn't understand what I was doing wrong. The harder I worked, the more pain I experienced; my frustration level was through the roof. What worked for me in my 20's and 30's was no longer affective and I felt that I was doing long-term damage to my lower back. After a life changing car accident, I started training with Beckie just about a year ago. My journey has not been easy but it's been worth it. He is professional, knowledgeable and methodical. I always feel like every minute of my sessions are well planned, tailored to me and maximize my effort and ability. My wife started training with David about 6 months ago because she felt like her Barre workouts were getting boring. She now mixes in weight training with Barre, yoga and running and loves it. About the gym: Austin Simply Fit is a small, clean gym with friendly professional staff who seem to genuinely enjoy their work and each other. The environment is positive and not intimidating. The clients are a pretty even mix of regular people trying to get into shape or maintain their health and more serious athletes looking to get to the next level. It is not a judgemental space at all. I absolutely loved training with Melissa Sledge. Before I met her, I rarely worked out and I wasn't very mindful about what I was eating but she changed my whole mindset about getting fit and eating healthier. I came into this gym knowing very little about how to reach my fitness goals but I was introduced to Melissa and she helped me get on track. Every workout I had with her was killer - she pushed me through every minute and I was sore for days after each workout. But what stood out to me the most was her personality and way of teaching. Our sessions were tough but time flew by fast because she made it fun. She was so encouraging and supportive and knew how to make me laugh. She also gave me some guidance about what I should be eating to further help me reach my fitness goals. I trained with her for 5 sessions and I can already see some progress in my body! I had to stop training due to financial reasons but I hope to train with her again because it was worth every penny. read more

I just had a very negative conversation with their sales agent. One I reached out to them via email and nobody responded. Then when the lady did respond she was really rude about how she sent me an email. She proceeds to tell me that to work out at Austin simply fit you must pay $61 and 50 cents per personal training session that lasts for 30 minutes. You are not allowed to use the gym outside of your personal training experience except for prior and after to the session. So essentially to work out for three times a week, and this idiot sells agent who shouldn't even be doing sales just said it isn't necessary to work out three times a week, can you believe this lady? You're going to have to pay $181 a week to work out there. Or you see your trainer and pay her 61 bucks once a week and go to a different gym to work out your other two workouts for the week. Literally what a joke. I was kind of excited about it for a minute. But wow what a joke read more

I can only echo what other reviewers have said. I have been working with David for about six months and it has been a consistently positive and inspiring experience. I am a very physically active person. A stage performer and artist who is also building a sustainable homestead farm, I put a great many demands on my body. This personal training has not only helped me get stronger and more able to accomplish my daily tasks, it has also helped me gain better knowledge of my muscular structure and alignment so that I not only can work harder, but better. Although the sessions are a strain on my budget, I am finding them to be an incredibly valuable investment in my future. I am about to hit that big 40, and I feel that I am shaping the body and gaining the knowledge that will help me keep healthy and active for the second half of my journey. I have been to a lot of workout classes and group training programs over the years, but I am enjoying my workouts with Amanda Bode at Austin Simply Fit South more than any of them. In the past three months, Amanda has helped strengthen my hips, glutes, and core, which has given me more body control and made me a better runner and horseback rider. I have historically been injury prone along my entire right side (shoulder, calf, ankle, and two spots in the foot). Amanda is extremely good about modifying if we encounter any pain or tightness, and she finds exercises that will strengthen the supporting muscle groups. I have less pain and feel more stable and balanced since I started working out with her. Amanda is mindful, encouraging, and supportive. Melissa Sledge has been a life-changer for me. I haven't always been into eating well and working out and I would have never incorporated nutritional changes without Melissa's guidance. She is thorough, takes into consideration your personal goals, and provides detailed nutritional assessments, recipes, and product recommendations. She is incredibly knowledgeable, kind and genuinely wants to help you reach your lifestyle goals. She is always up to date with the latest nutrition research and helps you understand the reasoning behind certain food choices. I have seen huge improvements in my health while working with her including a lower LDL. I am so grateful to both Melissa for all of the ways they helped me become a healthier, more intentional person. I have been training with Amanda at Austin Simply Fit 3 times per week for 2 1/2 years and she has always been professional, knowledgeable, conscientious and compassionate. After I was diagnosed with a stress fracture in Aug. 2017, her excellence rose to new levels. I know this sounds dramatic but it is true. She altered my workouts to coincide with my recovery every step of the way. She always paid close attention to what was working for my body any given day, whether I verbalized it or not. Since I could not do powerlifting moves with my injury, she worked my accessories with precision so that I am now much stronger than I was pre-injury. I have been doing personal training with Amanda Bode for 2 months. The results started showing after a few weeks. Amanda took time to fully understand my goals, fitness history and how I was looking to measure success. Amanda clearly takes time to prepare each session and make sure it is varied and tailored to me. I have been really impressed how the intensity has gradually increased - it is in a measured, considered way that pushes me but Amanda seems to understand where my limits are better than I do. I used to get bored going to the gym but I look forward to these sessions. I started going to Austin Simply Fit in September of this year. I did my research and interviewed several gyms. Not only did I like this facility, but I also liked the business model and overall atmosphere. I was assigned a trainer based on my goals and who, personality wise, I might fit with best. It was made clear that if I wasn't happy after a few sessions I could move to a different trainer, no questions asked. I never made that request however. Amanda Bode is hands down the best trainer I have ever worked with, and there have been many. She not only listened to what my goals were, but worked with me to put together a well thought out, comprehensive plan based around the physical restrictions I came with. I love Austin Simply Fit. Not only the facility is great, they have everything you need for your body, but their trainers are also very knowledgeable. I have been training with Amanda Bode for half a year!!! She is very professional, focused and targets toward my goals. She motivates and pushes me to my full potential. I have been training with John Delapaz at Austin Simply Fit South for two years, and I am very pleased. I started at Austin Simply Fit because I wanted to learn powerlifting, and I have learned so much about the three lifts (squat, deadlift, and bench press) from John. But that's not all he knows. My wife and I have been going to Austin Simply Fit for a little over a month and we love it! The workouts fit perfectly into our busy schedules. We're in and out in 30 minutes but the workouts are still intense! The people are great, it's not like any gym I've ever been to before. Everyone is encouraging and friendly, especially to the beginners like us. It feels more like a community than a gym. We train with Sean and he's done an incredible job of making us comfortable with the movements and challenging us even more every session. I was completely intimidated to step through the doors at Austin Simply Fit. As a plus size gal who would much rather much rather play a board game than a sport, I felt like working toward a stronger body would be as mentally tough as it would be physically. Thankfully, Sean Householder eased my mind in the initial consultation, and I quickly found that ASF cultivates a friendly atmosphere where everyone is on their own personal journey. Sean explained each exercise thoroughly to me and made everything seem significantly less intimidating. Austin Simply Fit is my new favorite studio in Austin. It was my first experience with a personal training studio and wow what a difference from any training sessions I ever took at the gyms in Austin. I had a desire to get my rear in awesome shape in a short period of time. I started to train with Logan and man does this guy know how to kick your butt. He described each positioning and adjusted me so every move counted. I would leave after a quick 30 minute workout and feel like I had just worked out for 2 hours. All my muscles hurt in all the right spots the day after. I felt super comfortable trying new things with his encouragment and all the trainers there really show their passion and skill in their craft. I have been training with Chelsea for about 10 months now and cannot say enough good things! I started as a newbie to weight lifting/training and was focused on preventing injuries (I'm very accident-prone) and losing weight/getting in shape. I'm happy to say that I've lost 30 lbs, feel so strong, and have been able to work on imbalances to further rehab and prevent injuries. Chelsea is the perfect balance of tough and encouraging, she pushes me to the max, and keeps me laughing so that I'm distracted from how hard I'm working! I was extremely nervous about coming in due to being so out of shape. It's been forever since I've worked out but I felt lost and not sure where to begin. When I came in for my initial visit, Vilita was welcoming and made me feel very comfortable. This was such a big step for me. I've had so much fear and anxiety of stepping back into the gym.
