Jared the owner still made me pay for all of September AND October because there is a 30 day notice you have to give...even on the "month to month" membership. I happened upon CrossFit 2024 when I was in town for the weekend and looking for a gym to workout at. They have a great interest form on their website for drop in athletes and Jared replied and got me set up for a drop in class 24 hours after I submitted the form! I was a bit nervous show up at the gym on my own but I shouldn't have been. Jared and all of the gym members were super nice and welcoming! They included me in conversations and I didn't feel awkward when we ended up having a partner WOD. The warm-up was good and Jared clearly explained all parts of the workout. After class, two of the members chatted with me for a bit and gave me great recommendations of places to visit while I was in town. The gym is small and it didn't have the equipment I was used to but you can tell that they have a great, dedicated community here! read more

Terrible. A very cliquey type of community. The owner "Jared" is a pretty sarcastic guy and may rub you the wrong way. Do not go here, you will have to sign a contract. That in itself is a warning sign (If you're just dropping in from out of town, you'll be fine.) If you don't give "30 days notice" you will be charged a full month when you no longer desire to go, or want to join another gym, and then a cancellation fee on top of that. I had an injury, and my wife did not enjoy the atmosphere. When we were forced to pay for a month because of a "contract," we really had no choice. After the $260 charged, they attempted to get another $186 by repeatedly hounding and threatening further action. Petty, especially with Covid affecting jobs around that time. There are plenty of gyms out there with no contracts and the BS that comes with it. Find a better Gym. read more

This was an excellent gym with a great owner. I liked the people, the programming and coaching. It is a small/medium sized Crossfit gym so you will get better coaching. If you have never tried Crossfit then you should and this will be a good place to start your journey. read more

Solid. You need to check it out when in Austin! Checked out a few gyms but this is my fave by far!

Where should I start? In July 2019 my husband and I decided to give crossfit a try. Well, first I had to sign a contract to join, which locked me in for a year. Meaning, if I had a change of heart later, which happens sometimes when trying to find what works for you on your wellness journey, you're screwed. That should have been my first warning sign. Shortly after signing up, I received repetitive emails, Facebook posts, and "reminders" in class to sign up for another year on top of the year I JUST signed up for, since they are raising their already extremely high monthly fee (around $200) if we decide to renew later. Well, we decided not to, thank goodness, or we'd be even more in the red with these people. The owner Jared has an attitude most days, never seems happy to be there, and loves to give unsolicited advice on dieting when he is not a registered dietitian. Oh, and talk about cheap, they have a year end party at the gym to supposedly celebrate their clients progress but, they ask for everyone to bring their own food, drinks, AND ask that at this "party" everyone deep clean the box (gym) and all the equipment. So, basically, pay your membership AND also do free labor. This gym makes enough money to annully hire professional cleaners to do a deep cleaning if that is what they want to do, but instead they have their clients do it and disguise it as a "party". Sounds real fun right? Anyway, back to trying to get us to spend more money with them, at the beginning of 2020 they started a diet program that they constantly tried to pressure their clients to sign up and pay for. They would even go as far as to confront you in class and ask why you won't sign up for this "voluntary" diet plan that costs you extra money on top of your monthly membership. It's pretty jarring to be bombarded while working out, asking why you won't sign up for their, again, unregistered dietitians diet plan. That was actually my final straw! My husband got injured in class and I was tired of them trying to peer pressure me into paying more money for some diet plan they made up based off their "experience", but no degree. Plus, if you don't fit in right away, you never will. As much as I tried to feel like I was part of the community, I never did. They are cliquey and not the most friendly bunch with the exception of a few. At the end of January, after not attending their gym since around January 15th we decided it was time to give up and go to a much better gym. We let Crossfit 2024 know we decided they were not a good fit and we would like to cancel our membership. They then decided to charge us the full month membership for February even though we never stepped foot in there the whole month, and a additional "cancellation fee" around $200! So, they're basically getting a free $600 out of us total, when we stopped going in January. We paid everything right away except for the cancellation fee, since COVID hit and paying extra unnecessary finances weren't exactly a top priority for us, as they haven't been for most during these rough times. Instead of understanding this, they decided to send us email after email, phone calls, and threaten collection action. Really petty move for a business to make during these times. Can't stress enough, please save your money, sanity, and self esteem and take it to a place worthy of the high price for your health. The only plus to this place: Trainer Joe was a real gem, knowledgeable, kind, and always left his ego at the door. If you have to go here, he's the only reason to do so and highly recommend you attend his class only. read more

I was traveling through Austin just for the day and contacted this gym about dropping in. They were super responsive and excited to have me! I felt very welcomed coming into class today. The gym itself is AMAZING. Small but super nice, brand new everything! I like secluded gyms like this one, it felt very community oriented which was great. Jamie and Jared were very approachable and friendly! They really seem to care about their clients and the quality of their gym. I rarely write reviews but this gym deserves it. I've been going to CrossFit 2024 for almost two years and this gym has taught me more about the values of consistency and community than any other outlet in my life. All of the coaches truly care about your personal goals in and out of the gym and will meet you where you're at to achieve those goals. I get feedback during EVERY workout because each of the coaches know my strengths and weaknesses, where I can challenge myself, and where I need to focus on form. They take good care of their equipment and always emphasize good form and mobility. The community hypes each other up and there's a good mix of athletes, but I've never felt intimidated (this is coming from an introvert). Check them out if you're in Austin... there's a good chance it will be the best part of your day! read more

I have one huge problem with 2024: they opened when I only had two months left in Austin before moving away......However, they were the best two months I spent in Austin! Jamie and Jared are a great pair of coaches that balance each other perfectly at the box. Jamie cares so much for each member and takes the time to truly know them. Jamie will be along for the ride on your first day at the box helping you determine goals and where you can tweak your movements to improve. She also has the ability to turn your day around with her contagious, bubbly personality and can help you put things into perspective after tough days. Jared has been in the fitness industry for a long time and it shows in his technique instruction, tips and advice to get movements down, and how to properly scale workouts. Whether you want to be a competitive crossfitter or just get healthier and more fit, Jared has experience with it all and 100% can help you reach those goals. A lot of thought goes into his programming and he always has a reason for what he has planned whether it's that day or weeks ahead. He is very knowledgeable and loves to talk about fitness, crossfit and health. Jared and Jamie have created a great community. When you walk in everyone will know your name, cheer you on throughout the workout, include you and want to know about you. It is impossible to come to the box and not walk out with a smile on after an awesome workout, a few laughs, PRs and feeling like friendships are forming. 2024 became the highlight of my day not only because of the workout but the people I got to workout with. I went in for an intro class at Crossfit 2024 this morning, and Gerald wasn't just interested in jumping right in and going, but asked questions about goals, ability, etc. It was tough, but not impossible, just right for an out of shape guy like me. I've always been into fitness and trying new workouts. I have seen a lot people post about CrossFit, and have been wanting to try it out. I won a free week of CrossFit and it was the perfect opportunity. I absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone! The coaches were amazing and very motivating.
