Moogie gives me excellent instructors, dependable 7 a.m. classes three days a week, and a location close enough that I can bike there. The studio is bright, spotless, welcoming and extremely well run. Classes start on time and end on time, and after working with three or four different instructors, I haven't encountered a weak one. Olivia is clearly both a Pilates expert and a very good business owner. Hillary is another outstanding instructor I've worked with several times. There's even a great coffee shop next door. I highly recommend Moogie Pilates.

This is very unfortunate for those of us who would run over to take a class at lunch. In addition, the afternoon classes are largely foundation and orientation classes with an occasional restore. This means that those of us who like the open classes where we can adjust to our level no longer have that option. Hopefully this is a temporary schedule change and the franchise owners will realize how many people miss the 12 and 12:45 Open classes.

When I come to Austin, I walk a lot. This time I walked a record number of steps/miles!!! I have to say I was very impressed....and a wee bit sore the next day (which does NOT happen with my regular pilates class). She is a very patient, knowledgeable and encouraging teacher. She strives to help you get good results, encourages you to push yourself (without hurting yourself) while offering insight to why we're doing the various exercises. I felt like I got amazing hands on experience and learned a number of new exercises--and I've been taking pilates for a few years. My only disappointment is that she's based in Austin and I'm not. I will be visiting Pilates by Katie though when In town again for sure!

The new location is now on N. Lamar behind the Ferrari dealership and still features some of the best personal trainers in Austin (including the very knowledgeable Sam Ditzell). The building that houses AFC also has a pilates studio, massage business and chiropractor. There's plenty of parking, too. Great place for fitness.

If you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to train at Pinnacle, I say jump on it! I looked all over town for different opportunities, but it was quickly obvious that Pinnacle has the best atmosphere for personal training - It's never too crowded, well lit, clean, and there's an overall cool vibe goin on there. And if there's anyone looking for a trainer, you can bet Pinnacle is a great place to find a good fit for you. Everyone who trains there is top-notch

I first heard about Mauro Pilates by browsing through Bettysport's calendar and noticing they…read moreoffered free 'Bi-lates' on Tues and Thurs mornings offered by Liana. I finally got the will power to wake up early and get in a morning workout before heading off to work. I remember my abs being sore for a week after attending class twice that week. I have tried barre, running, p90x, & other various workout dvds, but nothing came close to toning my full body in that short amount of time like pilates did. I lost one dress size in a month just by attending class twice a week. I just love that my clothes are fitting the way they're supposed to. No more sucking it in or doing lunges just to get my jeans up past my thighs and zipped up. I can finally say bye-bye to my mini muffin top and I have never been happier. Liana is great at creating and modifying workouts to fit your needs, goals, and skill level. Don't think that you will get bored after a few weeks like with most workout routines. She will have new workouts to show you in no time so always expect a different challenge every time you attend class. I am not the most flexible person in the world, but Liana helps modify the moves for me so that I am in a comfortable position and not straining my lower back. She also corrects your body position/alignment if you are slightly off so that you are getting the full benefits of the workout. I am a firm believer that your results will depend on the amount of effort and time spent on exercising. One of the first things Liana told me when I walked in was 'I like high reps.' I smiled and thought to myself, 'This is going to get interesting.' Finally, someone who will challenge me and motivate to push me harder.
