I took initial time off to rest and heal but when it was time to reengage my body I realized that it was going to be a LOT harder than I thought. I was so frustrated, at first. Erin remained patient with me and really worked with me to address the concerns I had about re-injuring myself but still wanting to make progress. She helped me emotionally and physically. 2) Pre-natal! When I found out I was pregnant, I was really excited but worried about how I was going to be able to keep up with pilates. I had severe lower back/sciatic nerve pain throughout the pregnancy (plus lingering injury from previous car accident!) and she helped me modify every exercise to fit my needs. She even did research outside of our appointments into various exercises and ways to keep me comfortable while moving forward. Erin's encouragement, patience, discipline, experience and kindness are above and beyond what you will find in any instructor. She is a diamond and I am lucky that I found her! She strives to help you get good results, encourages you to push yourself (without hurting yourself) while offering insight to why we're doing the various exercises. I felt like I got amazing hands on experience and learned a number of new exercises--and I've been taking pilates for a few years. My only disappointment is that she's based in Austin and I'm not. I had an extreme lack of mobility, and my pain was at about a 7 or 8 every day. I was limping around at age 36 like a much older person. At that point I had tried everything - tons of physical therapy, 4 different trainers, chiropractors, massage...nothing worked. When I began with Sumair, I couldn't do much of anything. I mean, I had zero range of motion and very little strength. If you're feeling self conscious or scared, please don't let that stop you, we have all been there, and I would argue that is where TrainLifeFit really shines. Sumair has built TLF to be a holistic program. What makes it so great is that it is a body/mind/emotions program. What does it matter if you can do a proper push up if your mind has been programmed to believe that you CAN'T do things because you "just don't have the body for it"? Because I am petite and small, that's what I had been told. I'd also been told that my pain was just my "new normal," and to get used to it, so Sumair also had to help me overcome my sad sad sad mental programming about my body. He also taught me about mechanics and how to recognize what was going on with my body. That understanding was reinforced through the homework he gave me, so now I have the ability to identify what's happening and work through it on my own. That's important for the other days when I'm not training with him, and I cannot overstate how much it improved my relationship with my body. I now understand it and know what it needs. So my result is, less than a year later, my pain is at about a 1. I have gained significant strength, stability and muscle mass. My winter coat didn't fit this year because my arms and back had gotten bigger! My mobility is excellent and I have recently begun to run again, an activity I had been told wasn't available for me anymore. But most importantly, I trust my body. I know it is capable of much more than I had been told. I understand it, I have a vocabulary to describe what is happening with it, and I no longer treat it like an annoying employee by getting frustrated when it doesn't do what I say. So you can train anywhere. But if you want a transformation, I recommend TrainLifeFit.

Mind you that I had been in physical therapy for 9 months prior to TrainLifeFit seeing me--the pt had helped but pain relief and correct posture only lasted 2 hours after each session.
