Wish we read reviews before blindly choosing here. Food was decent. BUT they push the "do you want cheese" on you and don't tell you that's an up charge of 14€. My friend tried many times to order lasagna but the waiter kept pushing the T-bone steak. His wife stepped in and said no, he wants lasagna! The waiters seem like trafficked immigrants with one main guy hovering over them to make sure they push extras. We asked for bill and menu to verify charges and they tried to bring limoncello for the table instead. We turned it away. Said it was free but I'm sure they would've found a way to charge. Thankfully the only wrong charges were those cheese charges. We paid cash to avoid credit card issues later. Please avoid!! read more

Ask for Anim, everyone is wonderful though, they make you feel like family. The T bone steak is well worth it. 10 euro a gram, 800 gram T bone for 80 euro. 24 euro for a bottle of pino Grigio. 10% service fee but well worth it. The service was amazing! Delicious. We sat right outside on a hot March afternoon and enjoyed people watching as well as a great dinner. Ordered the octopus with fettuccine and, my favorite, tonnarelli alla Grecia, a delicious moist take on carbonara but with tonnarelli pasta. Service was great. We wanted a drink and something to snack on. As we were walking by, it smelled great so that's a great sign for good food. We ordered Hugo Spritz and Aperol Spritz first. Both were perfectly prepared. We ordered focaccia and Prosciutto e Meloni. It was a perfect combination! Service was great as were the drinks and the food. They have seating inside and outside. The restrooms are in the back of the restaurant and clean. If you're in Rome near the Pantheon, you must stop and try this restaurant. read more

Food was edible. That's about all I can say. Actually daughter's pizza had good dough, but then again, that's basically everywhere in Rome. Ossa Buca was overcooked and chewy and the sauce was thick with peas. Weird. Pasta was not house made. The menu is simply too big to do anything well. This is a tourist trap restaurant. My mom and I ate here after a long day of tours. What a meal! The waiter was really nice but when I was trying to order he kept looking the other way like he was ignoring us. Super weird and off-putting, but we pushed through it, lol. I ordered a few courses and every course was really good. (Sorry, don't remember exactly what I ordered.) On our first visit to Rome and it has been so challenging to find the best places to eat with regard to quality, taste and value. We came across Pummarola on our walk back to our hotel and our family had a very enjoyable dinner, which also met the three mentioned criteria. What caught my eye as we strolled by, was that it was busy and people were having great looking dishes in a great setting. We ordered: -spaghetti and meatballs (as an appetizer to share between the three of us) = 4.9/5, it was absolutely a great dish, but it needed a few more meatballs! We'll come back for this! -the seafood linguine=4.9/5, another absolutely delicious entree with great flavors with calamari, mussels, clams--a fantastic compilation of seafood, but it only had ONE shrimp, this dish needs more than one! And it was a great change from the excess of carbonara and cacio e pepe we've had for the past two days! -the spinach cannelloni with ricotta cheese was very standard but good=4/5 -fettuccine LaLa bolognese= 5/5 all if it's elements were delicious! The waiters were busy with their tables, but also chatty amongst themselves, perhaps because it was late, past 10:00 p.m. and they were ready to be done for the night. They, a pairing of two waiters, still managed to adequately serve us, but with numerous repeated requests. At least they were friendly and had a good sense of humor. They were accommodating but detached at the same time. Pummarola has nice outdoor tables, it's beautifully set up and it's a comfortable dinner setting. Rude waiter mocked us by saying we don't know English when the credit card machine was in Italian. Asked us to tip him extra and was trying to scam us for additional tips when 10% service charge was included in the bill and the service wasn't great at all. read more

Went here after another restaurant down the street fell through. The staff was nice, but the food was just alright. I was in a group of people and we all got different meals, and none of us thought it was spectacular. Not bad, but not my favorite. I ate here with 3 kids by myself one night. The waiter was so nice and accommodating. We ordered noodles, and a pizza. We had lots of leftover pizza which they brought to the back to box up and never brought it back. Then we had a problem with our bill and I completely forgot to ask for it... so we essentially paid like $15 for 2 slices of pizza. Excellent food. This was one of the best restaurants that we ate in Rome. Avoid the Pantheon Square with all the tourists. Wasnt sure about this place since we were in a big tourist area but it turned out to be a good experience. The marinara pizza was delicious and even without cheese had a ton of flavor. Today we were here and ate codfish and ravioli, the fish was nice and fine but the ravioli were 8 pieces or so and this is way to less for the price of 11 € .. the fish for 18€ was quite okey but also not too much. After a visit to the Trevi fountain, stopped by here with mi familia a bit after 10 pm. The gentleman waiter told us as we sat down that they were closed. I thought it odd, but accepted it and walked 15 feet to the restaurant next store. While we were enjoying our dinner, my children noticed the same waiter seating not one, but two different sets of women about 20 minutes apart. After our meal I approached the gentleman and asked if there was any particular reason why he didn't seat us, but sat other people? I promise you this had nothing to do with the color of my skin. Without a thought, he stated "these are my friends." Truth is I was dumbfounded, but believed him. Why serve tourist when you can cook for just your personal friends? This was one of our best meals in Italy. We happened upon it as it was close to where we were staying and it was late. We had a great waiter. Prices are great, Papparadelle Bolognese and Pasta Carbonara were fabulous. Had the pizza recommended by the waiter with buffalo mozzarella, tomato and basil and loved the pizza and their thin chewy crust. Great portions, we couldn't finish it. I came here five years ago and loved it so I returned on my recent trip to Rome. Spoiler alert: still loved it. On my first trip to Rome I was very disappointed in all the food I was eating. I felt like the Olive Garden was better! Then I tried this place and ended up eating here for dinner 4 nights in a row. This visit I went back once and was not disappointed! My son had a panini (ham and cheese) that he said was he best he's ever had. I had the pappardelle w meat sauce and it was fantastic. The staff is friendly and attentive. Prices are very fair.
