This place sits in a row of multiple street cafes so it was hard to determine which place to eat at. We had walked by earlier checking out menus at all the restaurants to determine where we were going to eat. Each restaurant has a guy in front trying to direct you in. There is definitely competition between these guys trying to get you in to there establishment but it's kinda like there driving; after the honking and cutting the other person off, it's forgotten about. We had a great time and the food was good. We shared lasagna and sat next to a couple we wound up talking to from Argentina. The staff was friendly and a great place to sit, people watch and take in Trastevere.

Spaghetti with Mussels (don't be fooled it was more EMPTY shells than meat)

We were hounded down by the heckler outside and torn between this spot or the place on the other side of them.. unfortunately we wish we went to the other side. There's AIR CONDITIONING .. and on the hot humid day and wondering around Travstevre and sadly Tonnarello had a line wrapped around both ends .. so we went here. Instantly regretting our choice when sitting and looking at their menu.. but we felt bad and ordered anyways. Ordered: Lasagna Spaghetti with Mussels Lasagna: Stouffers taste waaay better .. and that's really sad to say because it did come out piping hot (after the guy brought me the wrong plate and ignored me when I said no I ordered the lasanga) Spaghetti with Mussels: there were more empty shells than meat in the dish (yes, my mom counted lol) Bread: hard as a rock but soft in the center (my teeth still hurt) Overall we felt cheated of a meal but the air conditioning was great haha

If you are staying in the Trastevere neighborhood, this is one of the top places to eat. Was recommended this place by various people throughout the city. We came around 11pm and was greeted and helped by Aldo. Aldo was a great host and offered great food and wine recommendations. We had the dry aged steak, gnocchi, Rome Style Artichoke, Mussels and a bottle of La Breccesca. Everything was fantastic! The steak was cooked Florentine style so it was definitely more on the rare side but I love my steak rare anyways. Great place for dinner and so many options around for drinks and gelato afterwards.

This is definitely one of the best restaurants in the Trastevere neighborhood. All of the dishes that we ordered were amazing. The carbonara pasta, sausage and potatoes, and the bolognese were our favorites. Our waiter was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu as well. He gave us many suggestions about what to order since it was our first time eating in Rome. The restaurant is located in a walkable area and was very clean as well.

Tony's was another top-recommended spot to visit during my travels in Rome. My boyfriend and I were told to make a reservation, so we popped in to make one a few nights before when passing the restaurant. The night of our reservation, we were seated immediately! It was packed at around 9PM on a Wednesday, so we were happy we listened to the advice! We were seated outside which has a romantic ambiance on a quaint, cobblestone street. We ordered a bottle of the house red wine, an order of bruschetta and an order of prosciutto & melon. The melon & prosciutto at Tony's was the best I've had in Italy, hands down. The melon was so ripe & juicy! For our entrees, I ordered the truffle ravioli and my boyfriend ordered the baked chicken parmigiana - Both were delicious! The menu is huge, so I would recommend ordering a few dishes and sharing like we did! We were very happy with our meal and the ending price wasn't bad at all!

    House red... So good!

What a great place for dinner! It's in an area filled with lots of bars, gelaterias and shops. We started off with a small bottle of the house red, so good and simple! We then had a pizza with hot peppers and mozzarella... Nice and spicy! Hubs had the chicken parm because of all the great reviews. It was amazing and the melted and crusty cheese on the sides of the plate were the best to pick off!! The chicken was tender and flavorful. I had the fettuccini with pesto. Pretty good, but a bit too rich of a sauce for me. I'm not used to such a creamy pesto. The complimentary lemon ice was so delicious and a perfect way to end the meal! I would definitely recommend this place!

This restaurant is in a really cute area , definitely recommend visiting the area. My friends and I stopped by this restaurant because we'd been wanting a Caesar salad with actual Caesar dressing (rather than olive oil). The salad was fine. Nothing extraordinary but definitely satisfied our craving. We did have a bad experience with our waiter who seemed to have an aversion to giving us the check. We asked him three times (over about a 40 minute time span), and then went to his boss. Nothing happened. We asked him a fourth time and saw him complaining about us to the boss. Finally, we just walked up to the area where the card reader was and stood there until they let us pay. Very strange experience. On a positive note, after the third time we asked for the check, the boss came over with a bottle of red wine (instead of the check). Not very good wine, but the gesture was appreciated nevertheless.

Wish there was a way I could blink my eyes and their penne alla vodka and chicken parm could appear in front of me. Seriously, get both and split them, I've never tasted something like this. Even the way the chicken is presented is totally different than what I was used to and I was absolutely okay with it (it's more baked and uhhhhh just sits in the melty cheese and simmering sauce!!!!!)

    Chicken Parm. Too good.

Came on a recommendation by a friend... Something along the lines of "oh my gosh, you're going to be in Rome? You NEED to go to Tony's!" Not a tourist attraction, not a shop, but a restaurant first and foremost. I took down the info... To sum it up briefly, this is the best Italian food experience I ever had. The service was impeccable. Immediately seated by a smiling waiter at a table with a classic setup. The decor, the table clothes, the painting, the lighting, etc. all very authentic. 1 point. Ordered a half-bottle of the house wine that was branded with the Hostaria del Moro da Tony name. It was good and affordable, another point on the board. I was told to try the Penne a la Vodka. I ordered it, they turned it out in under 10 minutes piping hot. The portion was HUGE! The sauce was unbelievable. The pasta was perfectly cooked. I sat there, in disbelief, making love to this dish. I couldn't believe how good it was. Another strong point. I came back a second time... Got the Chicken Parmesan, it was maybe even better than the Penne a la Vodka. The cheese was crispy on the edges and gooey in the middle. Again, making sweet love to the dish. I finish, they sweep away my empty dish within seconds. Like I said, the service was impeccable. Very attentive. The first time around, I'm sitting there texting my gf and look up to the waiter bringing a complimentary piece of cake for me to enjoy. The second time, a complimentary tiramisu and limoncello. I mean, COME ON. Can this get any better??? It was all so GOOD. I don't know if I would have ordered it myself, but damn was it delicious. 7 points for free stuff. To top it all off, THE PRICE! So affordable and manageable for a meal in Rome. The food quality was so good that I was ready to pay whatever, but it ended up being under 15€ for the dish and a half-bottle. 347 points. The best Italian food experience I ever had. I hope to come back every time I'm here. I even got to meet THE Tony on the way out, said a big ol' thanks and promptly passed out from a food coma. Win win win.

    Cacio e Pepe

Another tourist trap with a side of harassment. If you're a female solo traveler, STEER CLEAR. I usually try to keep emotions out of reviews, but this place was one of the worst experiences I had while in Italy. Throughout my whole entire time in this restaurant, one of the servers would not stop harassing me. He continuously showed up at my table to aggressively hit on me, push me to go out after, and even asked if I wanted to "make pleasure." Being upfront and obviously uncomfortable did not stop him. By this point I just wanted to get my dinner over with and get out as soon as possible. He was getting off around the time I was leaving, so I didn't even feel comfortable going straight back to my airbnb. When it comes to the food, this place is far from worth it. The fried cod was severely overcooked/chewy, and the cacio e pepe tasted like store bought alfredo.

House wine is perfect. No need to spend more.

Our first night in Rome walking around Trastevere... we tried to avoid the touristy places and this showed up as we walked around. We are glad we sat down! The €10 house wine was perfect, the pasta delicious, and the pizza for the kids super fresh. Gnocci were smaller than I'm used to, but very soft and tasty. The only dish we were not impressed with was the Saltinboca (lamb slices). Not a bad choice.

We went here early one evening during our visit to Rome. It had been recommended by a friend and was also known as Tony's. We were seated right away and ordered the house white wine which was very good. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and my daughters both had different Risottos. One with Asparagus and the other with Seafood. Both Risottos were amazing!! Probably best Risotto we have ever had. The Chicken Parmesan was cooked perfectly with flavor and crispy crust under melted cheese. This was one of our favorite meals that we had in Rome. Would love to come back!

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

I had possibly the most amazing chick food pasta a girl could imagine. Girls know what girl food is. The pasta in Italy is just better -obviously. But then put all sorts of girl flavors on it like Lemon and Orange, just lightly enough, zest with a small hint of cheese-..... omgosh. Yes, yes, and yes. Need my hubs to replicate at home. He is going to be busy trying to perfect this. Tagliatelle with orange and lemon parmesan. This was it. It was the best. Everything else we ordered was amazing as well. Wait outside. They don't have a sign telling you to wait, no server telling you to wait. You wait out there, wondering if you're in the right place, but then people stand behind you and you're like - oh! I'm here. So happy we did as this place definitely delivers. There is seriously like 8 tables in the dining room so expect a wait in line but trust me, it's worth it. We waited outside for about 25 minutes. They do take your order while in line so the wait for food (once you do get a table) is abbreviated. Out of the world pastas and the pistachio tiramisu is seriously out of this world.
