I love this place for drinks in the summer outside is open lots of seating.

My family and I sat out on the patio at Puck for dinner on the 4th of July. The atmosphere was very nice. The food was good. The prices were fine. No complaints there. The service was SO AWFUL that I will never return. Doylestown has too many good places for me to come here again just to be frustrated. We walked in, seated ourselves as the sign directed us, and despite our efforts, were ignored for over 20 minutes. We got up and got menus ourselves. Over that time period two other couples who walked in after us were greeted AND received their drink orders before we were even acknowledged. One of these couples had a dog who was brought a bowl of water by our waitress before she even acknowledged us. Yes, a dog. We finally flagged down a waitress and gave a drink order - 1 water and 2 beers - and our food order at the same time since we didn't know when we would see her again. It took another 5 minutes for the waitress to return to ask us "Where did you see that beer you ordered?". Our response: "On the menu". DUH! She informed us they did not actually have it so naturally we changed our order. A few minutes later the waitress came back with 1 beer. We said we ordered 1 water and 2 beers. A few minutes after that she came back with 1 water and 1 beer and said she'll be right back with another water. I corrected her again - 1 water and 2 beers. She did finally return with a second beer. That all took over 30 minutes from the time I sat down. When I was half done my drink I ordered a second one figuring it would take another 30 minutes for it to be served. I was wrong. Over 30 minutes passed, I finished my meal (which was served within minutes of my first drink order) , and nothing was served. I walked up to the bar myself, ordered my drink, and returned to my table. The waitress did apologize multiple times and did not charge us for 1 beer. My tip was equal to the price of that free beer and not a penny more. I thought that was extremely generous. As I exited the patio the dog who was served ahead of me barked uncontrollably and my daughter and I. I don't know what he was complaining about. He got his drink order right away. It's a shame because the atmosphere was nice. But as I said, there are too many nice places in Doylestown to waste time at any one where the service is so poor that you regret not just going home. read more

Puck is a great spot. Not cheap, but decent menu and pretty good beer. Great music from time to time.

Stay away! I had the WORST crab cake sandwich that actually made me sick. Service was slow, too.

I saw a really fun band here on Friday. The sound was amazing. The bar was packed and we had table service to start and ended up going to the bar. This was our first time here and we will be back. The later it got, the younger the crowd got. I had a delicious Margarita with agave! The best I've had. The bartenders were very busy and very friendly. What a great place! They told me the patio would be heated on the weekends, but we can't wait to come back in the spring. Also, try the cheesesteak spring rolls!! read more

This past weekend was my first time at Puck. We had dinner on their patio and a couple of nice beers to choose from. We went into the show and ordered our drinks and an hour later someone got on stage and cancelled the show. I later found out this person was the manager. She said the bands equipment was late and we could get our refund from the hostess. That's it. The hostess was clueless and the manager was very unfriendly at the front desk when we questioned if they would be back? Were we disappointed? Yes. We were excited to see the show! But Puck and their manager could have handled it so much better. They didn't offer us a later show, a discount, a glass of water, nothing! I live in New Hope, so the drive was no big deal, but their attitude is awful at Puck and I'll never go back. Yes, Puck, you can blame the cancelled show on the band. But are you also going to blame them for your unprofessionalism? As great as your beer selection was, this is Bucks County........I have countless choices. read more

We've enjoyed Puck since it opened, especially the patio. Tonight, however, the music was so loud that conversation was all but impossible. And this was outside! It was to the point of being invasive. It ruined any pleasant ambience, as it drove on, louder yet, I couldn't finish my food and went home with a headache. The mangers are never there and they always open late if they open at all. The food sucks! The only good thing they have is the music which is comprised of local bands and somehow they manage to make that a pretty sucky experience too.(the bands are good the format sucks) One time I mentioned that my food was not what I ordered and they told me it was. I again said "No this is not my food and they had a fit" I had to wait for a manager and when I explained that I had clearly ordered something other then what i was given I was told "that it should be more clearly order what i want but this one time they would take it off my bill" I ordered Chicken Cannelloni and got a burger instead. Puck has the greatest potential of all the bars in doylestown, but apparently they have no desire to reach that potential. They have a great space. The patio is beautiful & the downstairs isn't bad either. But the bathrooms are beyond disgusting. Always trash & other gross items all over the floor. The bouncers are grade-A d-bags, especially if they know who you are, & the manager is unpleasant to put it politely. If there's not a band playing I don't know why anyone would ever choose to get a drink there. The service is average at best. The usual crowd on a weekend is a combination of a high school reunion & a frat party. read more

The 'loaded fries' were so terrible that we couldn't eat them. The server was nice so we just put them to the side and enjoyed beers on the patio. Server forgot about us for a while after asking for another round.... Probably won't be back. read more

They booked a decent band, but that's all they had going for them. Mixed drinks were weak. I didn't complain, but they gave me a hard time about orderring my second drink straight up. Prices varied depending on who asked. They also repeatedly tried to pawn off a food order that our table definitely didn't order. management seemed to have a stick up its ass overall. read more

I went to Puck specifically for the band, a Neil young cover band. They were amazing but the venue sucked. Had to pay an $18 cover to get in to find out 50% of the cocktail menu (mind you, they handed this menu to me when I sat) isn't available in the bottom portion of the restaurant. To get the drink I want I needed to walk outside, up stairs, through an outdoor seating area and order from a separate bar. Not the end of the world but when I ordered it took at least 10 minutes for my drink. Not a single smile from any employee. When I went to order another drink they were out of blueberries, on a Saturday night, really? They were also out of raspberry puree so my friend couldn't have what she originally asked for. When the food arrived I was confused. The fries were cold, top bun burnt from sitting under a heating lamp and the "tomato confit" turned out to be a sliced tomato. I wouldn't say the food was bad, but misleading. Slightly expensive for what you get. The service was terrible, not that the waitress was rude but she was the only one taking care of over 50+ people with only ONE bartender too. After paying $18 to get in I assumed I would get more for my money. A let down for sure and I will never go back there. Only plus side is the band was awesome. (Rust) read more

I had a 50th surprise b-day party in the room upstairs at The Puck and it was awesome! The staff was so accommodating and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure that every detail was taken care of. They helped me pick a menu and the food was delicious. for food and drinks inside - not worth writing anymore than this.... unless you are like some where anything above McDonald's is gourmet and Bud lite and 3 other beers on tap is a "good selection". Website menu sounded great but website photos were VERY deceptive. It actually makes it look like this is a place that has an interest in dinner service. read more

Tonight was my first night at Puck. What a huge disappointment. It took forever to get service. I felt like I couldn't get the girls attention for anything and it became apparent, she was new. I don't have a problem with new people, however, she was just indifferent towards the service she gave. My husband had a beer which was nice and cold, but my rum and coke was watered down with ice (that took forever to get). The only saving grace to this experience....was the food. I had a tuna steak that was delicious! The atmosphere is great, but I couldn't enjoy myself because I was too busy looking for my waitress. We ended up going to the bar to get a drink and the bartender was talking to someone else and never made eye contact with us to let us know he would be with us. We waited almost 15 minutes for him. At that point, I didn't even order a drink, but my husband got another beer in a sloppy, plastic cup. I wanted to like this place because there aren't many spots like this, but it's all about the service and that was clearly lacking. We may try it again, but only if it's a slower night. Love eating outside!..Great atmosphere. The best House Salad ever!!!!! One of my favorite places to go for some drinks and light meal.

I've eaten here a few times at the outside seating area. The food is good, but don't think I'll go back. We were there yesterday and I saw a dog sitting on the chair at the table. What!!?? Its not for me, and as others have said, its very tough to review, idk maybe you find this to be a flaw. If I were to say anything bad about the place, its that it tries to appeal to everyone, and thus, doesn't really grab anyone. The food is good, again abit pricey, the drinks are pricey, and moderately strong. I take this as a way to keep the young people out, which is bad for me, but maybe its good for you. It wants to be upscale, but it also has alot of great local talent to draw in the youngens like myself. Comedy and music is all I go to puck for, and the seasonal cider beer on tap (best cider beer I've had). I've played music here and its a great place for that. But when I go out for a drink with friends, we start at puck to say hi to the staff, have a beer, look for some friends and then quickly move to cheaper places. My friends and I also chain smoke occasionally. All-in- all, its great for your middle aged crowd, the upstairs bar and the patio are great for that. The downstairs is great for local talent, if you want a cheap show, I recommend it. If you're younger, or plan to have more than a few drinks, I wouldn't recommend it. Great place to park your car when you go to other bars though! The food is good, but not the best in doylestown. If you go when its slow, it can also be intimate. read more

We have been coming to Pucks for over 4 years, because it is the biggest outside bar and patio area in Doylestown to relax at, convenient to all D-town residents. We were glad to see them re-open the outside in May and we were even more excited when we took a look at their menu and drink selections and then their prices!!! Come on now, first of all you are in D-town and if you think they are pricey?? you must not have been to the other restaurants that are of equal value??!! Pucks is priced low on their drinks, the food is fabulous and priced low as well, they have their big screen ON, the employees get along like family!! and your dog(s) are immediately taken care of with a fresh bowl of water, how can you beat that!! You want to relax? have a few drinks and a bite to eat, meet up with your friends and family, watch the game? Then Pucks IS the place to be!! If you want to watch a band? go on down to the Venue or if you want a more quaint spot to go to then enjoy the upstairs Martini bar. Ask me now why do we go to Pucks?? The large selection of drinks, prices are low, we love the food, service is great, the staff is FUN and enjoyable to talk with and it is STILL the biggest outside bar and patio area in D-town to relax at!! read more

Puck gets 0 stars. This is the worst place I have ever been. As a resident of Doylestown, I was very embarrassed that I had ever brought my parents here. The waitress walked up to us and said "I'm sorry, I forgot about all of you" (after it took her 20 minutes to bring us water). Then, she brought us lukewarm beers that we had watched come right off the delivery truck. The food was completely burnt (even fries--how does that happen??). And then we asked her to bring the check and she took 15 minutes. We walked up to the bar (where one male bartender was flashing another) to get the check and she still had forgotten about us. Then we asked to speak with the manager and she took another 10 minutes to come out and was extremely unprofessional for it being 8 pm on a Friday evening. She still made us pay for our food and made a comment that we didn't tip 20%...after this terrible experience! I've been to Puck a half-dozen times or so, always to see live bands. The guy they have mixing the sound is incredible, so the music always sounds good. That's the good news. The bad news is that they always oversell the place and if you don't show up two hours before the first act goes on, good luck finding a seat. Probably not a problem for 20-somethings, but as someone in his 50's I've reached the point in life where I like to have a seat. I honestly can't say much about the food. I've never eaten more that a few munchies. The beer selection is OK, but the bartenders are hit-or-miss (I don't appreciate paying $7 for half a pint of Guinness foam -- in a cracked glass, no less). I agree with an earlier poster that the management is pretty full of themselves. But there really aren't many other places to see live music other than a few cover-band bars, so I'll probably continue to stop in from time to time. And, man, the sound mixiing IS sweet! read more

So three couples and I went to see Willie Porter tonight . He was absolutely fantastic ! The venue was decent , nice staff even though the waitress was on the slow side .I understand she had a bunch of tables but she left a huge stack of plates in front of my friend right up until the act started . We were the first people to arrive so we got seats right up front which was nice . But again we all ordered and half of us were done eating by the time the other half of the table got their food . The food by the way is mainly sandwiches and light apps and tasted mediocre . I ordered a margarita early in the night and had one other before we left . It came in a small chardonnay glass and ended up being 20 bucks for the two of them . I almost fell out of my seat when I got the bill ! One drink alone was more than my hummus plate ! This is Doylestown people , not Center City or New York . I work in a restaurant myself and we specialize in martinis which are nowhere near as expensive or puny as these were . If you go for the music alone you'll love it , but eat and drink before or after you go . Try Lilly's Gourmet , not fancypants but definitely have a great selection of high quality sandwiches with fresh ingredients . Also its a block away from Puck and way cheaper eats considering the ingredients and taste. read more

We went to Puck because we had an hour to kill before a wedding planning on having a few drinks and appetizers. We ordered 6 vodka drinks. One vodka/tonic came out with large chunks of floating paper, one dirty martini had smaller pieces of floating debris (not from the olive juice) the rest were ok but all 6 were very very weak. We asked for the one drink to be replaced and kept the martini but when the drink was replaced there was a dead bug in it. I went and spoke to the manager and he said he would replace it but was short and walked away quickly. The next round had tonic instead of club and another bug in the replaced drink!! We did not order food because it concerned me that they couldn't keep bugs out of the drinks and I didn't want to chance it. We were comped the entire check but the manager never walked over. That's disgusting. Mistakes happen but bugs in drinks are not acceptable. read more

Terrible! Squeezed into the only open table which was outside hidden in the corner. It was the only table open so we were glad to just find a seat. Waitress came over explaining that their menu was all new "everything is fresh, not frozen like everything use to be." This was our first time visiting so I was a little bummed to know that the website menu I checked out earlier in the day was no longer their menu. We asked for a drink menu...they currently dont have one. I asked for a mixed "girlie" drink.. drink was way over priced, tiny and gross. Waited twenty minutes to receive water we ordered with our drinks and for the waitress to take our order. Then, waited OVER AN HOUR for our burnt crab cake sandwiches to be brought out. Couldn't find our server to get silverware or refills. Absolutely TERRIBLE! It was our first night without kids and ended up spending so much time waiting that by the time we left all the local stores were closed :/ read more
