Impressed by how clean, organized, and spacious this Publix location is off of New Northside. This was my first time coming to this location in a very long time and have to say it was a great shopping experience. It looks unassuming but is very nice to shop for everyday grocery needs. The staff was polite and checker/bagger were helpful. There was a lot of selection but we came in for non-dairy oat milk creamer (Chobani) to get us thru the work grind of a week. I had no issues finding it and discovering all the neat selections of specialty food and craft beer. What I loved most of all was the easy access to recycling used bags and styrofoam. I hate throwing out recyclable materials but Publix made it easy and shows they care to reduce the impact of plastic waste. Definitely recommend making a stop at this Publix if you are on 285 near New Northside. read more

This review is for the pharmacy at the Publix on Powers Ferry Road. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and so efficient. They are easy to reach on the phone and they are so helpful if you have questions. They offer nearly every vaccine you might need and you can book appointments for them if you like. This is a much better experience than you will ever have at CVS. It is such a pleasant experience every time I go. You will be so happy if you move your prescriptions here! read more

Staff are hit and miss as it's hard to find any staff these days. As a new big Kroger just opened across the street so Publix has been quiet. The new Kroger isn't good so it's just temporary. The store is clean, good fresh produce, and the rubbish wine department. Zero organization skills in this area. Way overpriced also. The beer isn't great either. The wheelchair parking infuriates me. People use them who are not certified, handicapped or showing any qualifying tags. Publix allows this. I've complained several times. read more

I'd get the subs here so much more often if I could count of them to be on time. Even with order ahead, they are rarely ready when they say even when it's not very busy. I have a lot of empathy for those who work in the service industry but I have arrived early to pick up order ahead to watch an empty deli counter and find my subs still not ready when the order time hits. They are also bad at keeping sale items stocked. I try to go on Wednesday afternoons as soon as the sale cycle starts and they are still frequently cleaned out already on some sale items. Store is clean and employees are nice, but due to stocking and speed, I frequently go to other stores for what I'm looking for. read more

I'm so disappointed in the quality of products here. I've shopped in store and Instacart pickup. I was given rotten produce--not just one item, but 4 diff produce (red onion, avocado, bananas, and potatoes). I tossed all of it away and tried to get a refund. But through instacart, I was only given a credit for future purchases--which I do not intend to use I've come home with publix "freshly" popped popcorn--the ones they bag themselves and price it higher than pre-packaged bags. It was stale. It wasn't even like last few left. They had a whole wall of them on display as a new item or something. I don't care for the selection of products, or lack there of. This location is 2min drive from me and I rather drive 10m to a Kroger than shop here. read more

I came here to go to the pharmacy to have a prescription filled with my father right after his hernia surgery. I told the pharmacist the seriousness of the situation and how much pain he was in. She told me to wait thirty minutes after going to the back for over ten minutes. This was okay with us since we had just gone to two other places that couldn't help us. After returning after over thirty minutes a new pharmacist told that no prescription was put in. How could the other pharmacist be so lazy as to not even put in the medicine after I told him he just had surgery? What kind of customer service is that? A new pharmacist name katelin was able to find medicine we needed right then and which was able to fix the situation but I will not forget the way that the previous pharmacist behaved. read more

Shopping here is not a pleasure. I come to Publix because of the higher quality produce & meats, good service, and upscale selection. Despite being in a very expensive zip code, this store doesn't have a lot of the features you see at other stores like on Paces Ferry Road. I can get over the lack of gourmet prepared meals and on-site sushi chef. What I can't overlook are the constant issues with mispriced items and out of stock shelves. Last week I was here and they were sold out of lettuce. ICEBERG LETTUCE! I had to take the last head and it was shriveled up. A few days earlier they were out of red bell peppers and non-organic avocadoes (the organic ones are too hard to make guacamole). There were three different times in the last month that items rang up differently than what was on the shelf. One time it was in my favor and my celery was free. Another time I got frozen peas for less than advertised (their error). Most recently I bought a bag of Emerald nuts that was advertised as BOGO, but apparently did not apply to the raspberry glaze that I selected. Again, I know all of this seems petty, but this is Publix. They're supposed to be different and better than other stores. read more

Powers Ferry Publix is quite possibly my favorite Publix in the country. It's clean, well-stocked, and never busy. I've been on weekdays, weekends, and holidays, mornings, afternoons, and evenings, and I've yet to encounter a long checkout line here. Sometimes I wonder how this store manages to keep its lights on. And no matter how dead it seems, there's always a full staff on-hand: bakery, deli, meat/seafood, sushi, and multiple cashiers and bag boys. One Saturday morning, I felt like the only customer in the entire store, yet there was still a cook frying a new batch of chicken, a pastry chef baking cakes, a butcher cutting meat, a seafood clerk laying out new crab, shrimp, and fish, a sushi chef preparing fresh sushi, and more. It was crazy, man. Crazy. I hope they sold most of that stuff. This store also almost always seems to have what I need, from foods to medicine. Items on shelves are efficiently packed and neatly organized. Interior is well-lit, aisles are clearly marked, and prices are easy to read. Produce is generally fresh and during peak times (weekday evenings and weekends), samples can be had. Service is great and the employees are always helpful and friendly. The parking lot is nicely paved, easily navigable, with plenty of spots. Open daily from 7am to 10pm, you really can't go wrong with this grocery store. read more

An oldie but a goodie, this Publix has a lot still going for it. Super NPWH - managers will even do your checkout if other clerks are busy but there's a register open. There seem to be even more buy one/get one and 3-for- $6 kind of thing and here's a little advice - you can still get the "package" discount even if you just buy 1, instead of getting the 2-fer or the 3-fer. If you're single, this is a cool thing to know. Smaller and less ritzy than stores like the one at Town Center right nearby in Brookhaven, but one of the easiest groceries to get into and out of thanks to a big lot and multiple entrances that go right to the store (unlike, say, the Disco Kroger where you pass a Sbx and restos and hassle around the little maze to get in and out). I sometimes forget about this one but when I do, I remember why Publix has long been a bastion of good food shopping in Atlanta - all the food, all the basics you need, and big smiles. If you want a big wine selection or a tricked out gourmet cheese and cured meats selection, go to another location. If you're good with all the necessities plus a gouda here/prosciutto there kind of thing, go, shop, eat. read more

As with all Publix locations that I have visited so far, the prices are much higher than the competition. (I'm always surprised Kroger and Target haven't put them out of business). Aside from higher prices, I've noticed that service at Publix also tends to be slower than other grocery stores. The employees seemed nice enough though, and apparently knew the name of the customer behind me in line (presumably a regular). And yes, this location is smaller than other locations, but the selection was always enough since I do my main shopping elsewhere. If you're looking for a huge produce selection, you might want to try a different location. Due to the prices and lack of self-checkout, this is not my first choice, but it works for one off items since it's closer to where I live right now. read more

This grocery store is pretty nice but the deli never prepares food in the quoted time. I ordered a salad at 10:45, says it will be ready at 11:20. Okay, perfect. I get here at 11:25, not ready. For a Publix, it's honestly not that great. I go here because it's convenient for me, but that's about the only reason. It's missing a lot what Publix usually offers. The store is relatively small compared to other Publix stores, although not as small as others. I've often gone in looking for things that I just can't find in this particular store, forcing me to go to another. Produce in particular seems to be just of slightly lower quality than other Publix locations. I'm not entirely sure why that would be, but that's what I've observed. That brings me to checking out. For whatever reason, the front end staff at this location is extremely slow. Lines are usually very long, even when the store isn't crowded, and cashiers take their sweet time scanning groceries. Considering the level of pride that Publix takes in their customer service, this location really misses the mark. read more

I don't understand why this Publix is not ever busy! I would imagine it to be, considering it's a good location; there isn't any other supermarkets nearby! The place is immaculate! I guess because it's desolate, there's not much cleaning to be done?? I dunno! Well, I shop here and I'm somewhat glad that it's not too busy. It's well stocked and well-kept. This is my favorite Publix in Atlanta. Previously, it was on my way home from work, so I was in here at least twice a week and the staff always remembered me. Their small talk is genuine conversation where they always are interested in what I am going to be cooking. The place and neat, clean, organized and if I cannot find something, there is usually a staff member close by and quick to ask if I need help finding something. They have a quite large British foods section, which is excellent for me and my tastes. This is also one of the larger stores they have - I find the small ones overly frustrating as they never have what I need. This one is perfect. They are well-stocked with both fresh foods, and staples. They are great at rotating stock, so the dairy items are never close to expiration dates and the breads are always fresh. They usually have plenty of check out aisles open, and if not, someone is quick to open up to help the flow. The baggers are speedy, bag efficiently and smartly and always insist (without being annoying) on taking my bags to my car for me. read more

I should not have to defend my space to the person behind me, and your staff have no authority to assist. Bill shared that in this pandemic people ate just not sure where to stand, or what is safe??? This Publix is amazing. The Deli is particularly good. They used to have some issues getting orders through quickly and having online orders ready at the designated time, but no more. They are on top of their game and my food is almost always ready when I arrive for pick up. Great location and I'm glad that it's my local Publix. read more

4 stars due to its proximity to my place. However, big heads up to management, in the kindest way: the front line do a bit of chit chat/personal gossip bonding time in front of your customers. I come here about 3-4 times a week since I dont like freezing my meat, and one thing I have seen consistently is that when I get to the register's, I feel a bit uneasy since the cashier/bag person/manager do a lot of personal talking ... I sometimes would like to ask about the price of a product, but I felt like as if I was intruding since they're talking. Im not trying to be mean or anything, but I felt a bit "off" during my check out. Also, we experienced the worst customer service here, out of ALL the publix i have been to, when - (and I wont mention any names, since it may have just been a really bad day for the cashier lady) - BUT!!! we were checking out, and our cashier did not make any ifs and buts about the fact that she is about to clock out. Her light was still on and we didn't think much of it. When we got to her register, she was huffing and puffing and clearly pissed off about the fact that the manager is missing and she clearly yelled out "IM OFF THE CLOCK!!!" She then started SLAMMING our merchandises. There were no "bagging person" SO our groceries just rolled off at the end of her register. She then gave me this look like "you gonna bag that, or am I gonna have to do it for you?" I simply started looking around like, "manager? she needs to go home?" She then slammed our groceries into the bag until someone came to the rescue and somehow calmed her down. During this time, her light was still on and an unsuspecting mother and daughter came behind us. The cashier, in the middle of ringing us up, stopped and went infront of them and turned off her light - mind you, at this point, more than half of their full cart of groceries has been unloaded. The cashier didnt say anything until we were done and she turned to the people behind us and say "DIDNT YOU SEE ME TURN OFF THE LIGHT?" The mother and daughter were busy laughing and talking with each other at the time, and they were in shock. The cashier lady then made it like she was doing them a big favor by ringing them up. I cringed at this and walked away ... When we were walking to our car, my husband, who is the most mild mannered person I know, suddenly said; "I am offended by the way that cashier handled everything." I was shocked that he said this, and tried to play it off. I told him "maybe she has a kid in day care that really needs to be picked up, honey." He didn't say more, but I can tell he was not happy. When we got in the car, he simply said "well, this is my WORST experience at a Publix." I was not happy when he said that because as a guy, he never ever liked going on a grocery shopping trip with me - but because of Publix and how much he actually liked the people that worked for them, he never minds going with me anymore ... and then there was this. Haha. It's not like its the end of the world, but I dont think he will be shopping with me as much anymore. BUT- WHY 4 STARS? Yesterday, Sep 6? I came here alone. As I was walking through the isles, I hear the kindest voice on the PA system. There was an old white man on the "cooking station" who sincerely thanked us for our business and invited us to try his tilapia with scallion and corn, and broccoli on the 'dinner recipe' side. I actually smiled, and when I unknowingly walked by his station, he caught my eye and gave me a loving plate of food. He was so kind. Like as if he was my grandfather making sure I try his food. HE was the saving grace for this location. All in all, I feel like everyone is great, but in business, it only takes ONE person to eskew a potential loyal customer. I dont remember the old man's name, but if you can send him my thanks. I will never mention who the cashier lady is, but in time, I will silently get to know everyone here, and I will be posting a follow up - if not, a personal letter to corporate. read more

Well where can I start.... store manager laid Back with his workers, I saw a group of workers standing in the back of the store tqlking for several minutes with their masks down not caring about customers walking by or any sign of acknowledgment of there experience at the store. the two dairy guys who were working at that time were the only good signs I saw. I like the smaller size of this location and the very friendly employees. That said, there are definite drawbacks. The parking lot is completely inadequate. All of the spaces are compact car sized and I've been dinged more that once in the 21 years I've lived nearby. Once it required filing an insurance claim. Whenever I make a request that they stock a particular item that I buy often, they get it once then never again. This sends me to other stores with more options or, more likely, to purchase it online. Want to love them but . . . read more

I visited store #541 7/1/19 and purchased a sub from the deli. Much to my dismay when I finally returned home I found a SHARP PLASTIC OBJECT IN MY SUB SANDWICH! The terror that ran through me was indescribable as I imagined how much pain & suffering that potentially awaited myself had I not been cautious & attentive. This incident was totally unacceptable & totally concerning after getting off an over 3 hour flight from Mexico and driving an hour to this store before getting home in an effort to rest & recover. I'll be returning this sandwich to the store tomorrow and I've definitely taken pictures of this incident. This store is already subpar but i'm trying to patronize this location since it's closest to home; however, I will return to the Paces Ferry Road/Vinings location from here on. Though I understand this incident was an oversight; it could've been the cause of extreme physical injury. My sincere hope is that ALL PUBLIX EMPLOYEES will become more diligent in providing services to valued customers. Publix, where shopping is always a pleasure! Employees always greet you with a smile and are happy to assist you when you need help with something. I find Publix costs a bit more than the other general grocery stores, but they always have higher quality meats and bright fresh produce. The sandwiches in their deli are always so good, with Boar's Head meats and the crusty french bread they bake fresh several times a day. Puts Subway and all those sandwich chains to shame. read more

So... I can vouch for the Publix at The Peach and the one at the end of Peachtree Battle BUT this one maybe needs a bit more TLC from corporate. I work for a fairly large company near this location and as expected during the lunch hour the deli is jumping. BUT unfortunately the service is extremely slow. I spent 17 minutes in line. Either they are slow or understaffed. I even went early this morning and waited 15 minutes and I was the only person in line. Most of the visitors at this location during the week are working professionals, I think they can do much better on respecting our time. read more

I was told I could not get deli service at Publix (Powers Ferry Road in Sandy Springs, GA) today. Apparently online orders take priority and as the only in person customer I did not rate service. The man behind the counter suggested I come back once I finished my other shopping and maybe he could help then. He didn't take my order and say he would work on it while I shopped. He did not call for help. He just sent me away. This location has always had issues keeping the shelves stocked and removing expired items but usually the people working there are very helpful. I live very close to this Publix and probably stop by at least 2 times a week. It is a little smaller than some groceries with a smaller number of prepared foods and no salad bar. What they do have is a great group of employees that are always friendly and ready to help. They could do a better job of restocking the shelves at times but the store is always clean and neat and organized. Still, it's the employees that make the difference. read more

The staff at this Publix is just terrific... I have had 3 experiences on as many visits that have made me a fan of Publix. Most of us Indians like their chicken skinless... unfortunately skinning them at home is a messy exercise. I asked the meat dept staff if they could do it for me (and remember, I have been denied this favor in places like Trader Joe's, Stop 'n Shop etc) and the guy actually smiled when he said "Sure"!! He was fast, did a super job and told me to stop by whenever I wantede his help again... I sure will. Another time, I had a coupon that I forgot to bring and I realized it only after the clerk had finished ringing the register. She asked me how far I lived and when I said about 15 min drive she offered to hold my stuff while I went and brought the coupon... Once I had to return a pack of cheese and it was a courteous, fast and no-nonsense experience. The store collection is as good as any other but with staff so friendly and proficient, this is my favorite grocery store. read more
