It's a storage business and does what it's supposed to do. Can't say there were any issues until I closed out the account. My son emptied it out and I missed calling them to close the account by three days. They wouldn't waive me paying for a month in which the unit is empty. I could see if it was a week or two, but 3 days? Will never use PS again. read more

The only reason we stayed at this property and didn't move to another one closer to us is because of Desiree. She is very sweet and kind and is always looking out for her customers. She will help look into your rent when it goes up. She is fair but firm with customers who clog up the entrance and cause hazards. She very vigilant with what is happening in the facility and you can tell she takes pride in her work. She is an asset to the property. read more

Absolutely love Clarissa! (I hope I spelled your name right, if you see this!) She has been such a positive and kind person since the day we went to check in for our reservation. I never got the names of the other employees, but they are very kind as well. This storage is so much cleaner than our last storage place and not only that, but when I had a balance on my account, Clarissa called to let me know, so I didn't get charged late fees. I am super grateful! This storage is easy to get into, especially if you have the app on your phone. LOVE IT! I want to give 100 stars. After paying for everything online once we arrived to the facility and was shown a unit we were put into a unit a 10x15 on a second floor with no working elevator!! I asked if there was a ground floor unit available and was told tbat there wasn't. The lady said "the elevator has been down since November, and it would be another 7 weeks till it was fixed." I told her "this isn't going to work for me, I have heavy things like rollaway toolboxes etc. That are too heavy to carry up stairs." "There is nothing I can do she said". When I got home I looked online and saw that there was a unit on ground floor the same size as mine so why can't I move? This is ridiculous and very inconvenient, I would like to be moved or refunded. read more

DO NOT GET PUBLIC STORAGE. I hate writing a bad review but in this economy i hate knowing I said nothing about their crazy late fees. I've paid almost 1000 in late fees and now I've racked then up to about almost 800 again. Yes I know you're probably thinking we'll why wouldn't u just pay on time. But man I wish I could have, what can I say I've had a rough year. I can barely keep up with my monthly payment and they drown me in fees. Anyway there is a storamerica in Montclair that's cheaper and has zero to very low fees. Now I'm finally ready to move my things out after all this time of paying my storage and I owe $0 in storage fees but $800 in late fees to be able to take it out. Negative 5 stars wasn't available, best option was 1 star. DO NOT rent from this specific Upland location. I actually pay to rent from both Upland & Ontario locations. Ontario is a dream & Upland is the nightmare. First off, they had security issues so shortened their hours so called "temporarily". They close by 6pm weekdays which makes it inconvenient to access if you work a regular 9-5 job. It doesn't seem to be temporary at all. They claim to have installed this state of the art security system which alerts police if there is activity on the premises after hours. That's great but then why is there still need for inaccessible hours for their clients if they've invested a huge amount into this security system? Secondly, the elevator is now out of order due to renovation. My unit is on the second floor. It was in order when I rented the facility last month and no mention once of a planned renovation to shut it down. I learned that news the hard way. Spoke to the front office & was told an email was sent out about it. I did not receive that email. Spoke to other renters there, they did not receive this email either. Sounds like a lie on Public Storage's part. I went into my online account, no alert there at all about this inconvenience either. Spoke to the district manager he said it's posted everywhere, another lie. But I'm sure after this review it will be posted, emailed and tacked onto online accounts to cover their incompetent asses. The District Manager also let me know the elevator is just a "convenience" to customers, that I can use the stairs. I informed him that upon my renting had the elevator not been available I would've never rented for this huge "favor" or "luxury" they are presenting me with. I rent one of the largest units they have which isn't cheap. Filled with large items, so using the stairs isn't acceptable in this situation. I've spoken to other renters that are handicapped that are equally dissatisfied with this inconvenience. Next, today I tried to get all my belongings out of there to be done with this place and to not pay them another dime. I show up with my hired movers and there is no access to get into the inner units. Their employees happened to not show up for work today to open those doors to give access. Myself and 5 other renters were there waiting around since 9:30am opening hour. I made many calls just trying to get customer service # which appears hidden online. Finally made contact with a rep that said they can't get hold of anyone but will call me back. Long story short, my movers could no longer waste their time on this due to their scheduling which is understandable. So that cost me a cancellation fee out of my pocket. Finally an employee showed up 45 mins later, at that point it was too late. Lastly, the homeless people & obvious addicts that manage to frequent inside the property rummaging thru the dumpster, hanging in the stairwell that smells like pee, most likely leaving the garbage I step over behind. I inquired with the district mgr on that as well. He said it can only be dealt with in a case by case basis. So your state of the art security is only good after hours and the people you have in place during business hours "maybe" deal with this on a case by case basis? So you're fine with staining the Public Storage brand leaving your paying customers feeling that their belongings are unsafe and maybe their well being is too? Does one have to be assaulted by a vagrant or addict in order for it to be a case by case basis to qualify for public Storage to address it? In the end, the elevator may be open at the end of the month, not guaranteed. Therefore sticking me with another bill to pay to Public Storage. District Mgr said the best he could do is give me "some" credit and not reimburse me in full for all the money I have lost. Same on me losing money on my movers due to have an inept staff. He said I can "try" and talk to other people above him in corporate but I won't get a different offer because that is their policy. How awesome and smug of you District Mgr guy! So, do yourself a favor and DO NOT use this specific storage facility location. Customer service is terrible, and overall sucks. read more

I have read some of the lesser reviews, but my experience here has been very good. After dealing with less reputable moving and storage companies, I was forced to find a large storage unit on short notice. The national customer service agent found this location within a reasonable driving distance where the closer storage companies only had small lockers available. At this location, I was greeted by Desiree who aces customer service protocol. She was and continues to be very helpful. Without this location and Desiree's assistance, my furniture would be out on the street as it had no place to go at the close of my escrow. Unless things change during my short storage need until my new home is completed, I give them a top rating. I am optimistic this will continue to be the case based on how proactive Desiree manages the location. read more

Units broken into constantly. Needed a temporary storage space for the holidays & the manager & workers seemed nice and helpful but the units are inside a very old building with thin walls and uneven floors & had to get a cart to roll our stuff up & down a large ramp because there is no elevator. Turns out there are homeless people who live in the storage units & you can hear them moving around inside the units & somehow they have codes to get in the gate. Worst of all our unit was broken into & they ripped apart our boxes & totes & stole a few items & left a mess. I was enraged & we immediately reported it to the manager & police. The police officer stated this storage place is a hot bed for break ins & thefts & said there was even a theft who tunneled into 7 units in the basement in one night so obviously the people getting in & living there are going through locks & taking what they can. There are no cameras so no one knows who broke into ours or any other ones & the manager said she lives there. The manager even tried to blame us for having a faulty lock & apparently tried to call us to tell us about it but we told her we never got such a call & the dates she apparently called us were before we had even bought a storage unit & she realized she had the wrong people so couldn't blame us for the break in. We've only had the unit for a month and never had such a horrible experience before. We've used Public storage in the past at another location & had it for 6 months with no issues but that place was clean & had cameras everywhere & we thought this one would be the same but we were horribly wrong. If you don't want your stuff stolen I suggest going elsewhere. We reported to the insurance they offer but insurance said they can't do much about replacing the items that were stolen without receipts. read more

My only complaint is that there is little in the way of security. Overall a good experience, but the lack of security might be a concern if I were to store anything of real monetary value in there. read more

The employees have great customer services I would give them a 5 start, BUT the facility is really bad the halls or pathways are all uneven if you are moving in be carefull with any glass it will fall and break. the units on the side to you are paper thin if the other person packes their unit to the max it will break into your unit ( it happens to me ) I told the employees and they did move me to another unit. It's dark needs more light windows and it smell dirty. I asked for a smaller unit but they told me that those are upstairs and their is no elevator access. If I could give it zero stars, I would. Came to close out my storage space only to find that they robbed me - missing various items. What is the point of paying insurance and high rates when they steal from you. After seeing previous reviews, I guess I'm not the only one they stole from. Jessica gets 5 stars but facility as a whole gets 2 due to another customer service rep that treated us with indifference and down right rudeness and lacking security . We've gotten to know Jessica and learned she's from down south and her southern hospitality shows. Security and lighting is seriously lacking at this facility. Our unit didn't have a light bulb and we were told PS only got 2 bulbs per year and we weren't allowed to replace it due to liability. Jessica addressed and solved this issue quickly. Jessica in the office is super helpful and knowledgeable. The facility itself is clean and well maintained; the only issue is the carts available are very worn out, do not transport your valuables on the carts, or stack any boxes high up. That being said, Jessica knows it's an issue and is quick to offer solutions that made us happy. Parking is limited, but if you're there at the right time, you can make do. My storage was burglarized and the Management was so bad, she spent more time telling me she couldn't do anything for me, I had to pay a private locksmith 60.00 to get the lock off After talking to another customer I found out there have been others, the security is non existent anyone can come in with a bolt cutter and have a free for all and it will be unlikely they will be caught. The extra thin wire mesh above each unit is just a little heavier than chicken wire so if you bring a ladder you can go from unit to unit. Luckily I was required to get insurance and my loss should be covered except for the deductable Alisha is lazy and useless. read more

I am thankful I have a close storage place for my things, the staff is very accommodating and nice. I've had my unit for 5 years and they have raised the rate on me 4 times, the first increase was less than a year after I moved in, the second and third increase were less than a year from each other but I don't have anyone to help me move to a less expensive storage place. I had to get something from my unit and there was a rat skeleton in my unit - great. They said they would put in some kind of trap but I'm afraid my unit is infested. read more
