I am extremely disappointed in this company we rented a storage unit for $192.00 when we became homeless. they have raised our rent many times. it has been almost 3 years and I received a email today they are raising it again another $130.00‍ our rent is now $492.00 a month. UNBELIEVABLE! I have rented many units from this company through the years as well as referring many people to them. I now would never recommend them. This place is a f'ing rip off. I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the local representatives of Washington State for raising rents at an illegal level. Enough is enough! I rented this location in October 2022 for a one year contract for a 10 x 20 for $279 per month. Within 3 months, the algorithm increased it $100. I called and felt like a "Karen" but argued it back down to $279. Sure enough, 3 months later, the algorithm again increased it by $100. This time I complained in their online portal (I have all the screen shots) to be told no, this increase would be put in place!) I then contacted the district manager of the Sammamish location LISA LEVONS and was sent a confirmation to the online robot's no so my monthly rate is now $379 a month. Today, 30 days before my next due date, I was sent a friendly email thanking me for my business, oh, and you have an increase coming to $428 so in a matter of 13 months, my contract of $279 per month has gone to $428 per month. Total horsh** ! ! ! ! I hope I will find remedy for myself and for all of you who already have your belongings with this company. Till then, DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF ! ! ! Just remember, THEY KNOW that once your 20lbs of furniture has been beautifully stored somewhere that it will be MORE EXPENSIVE TO HAVE IT RELOCATED ! ! ! read more

I rarely write reviews unless it is good but feel compelled to let people know about the business practice of this place. They will lure you in at a decent price and then in 3-6 months, raise the rent significantly claiming that the rent is month to month. The price hikes are not mentioned at any time during the "sign up" phase. Certainly a deceitful practice and its happened twice to me. I have three rental units in here that I'll be moving this month. There are other storage options in Sammamish and I'd encourage anyone needing storage to go somewhere else besides this place. read more

We rented a unit on a labor day special $149 a month for a 10x20. The lady specifically told us that the rate would *never* change, and it would stay the same for as long as we had the unit. Six months later (in the middle of covid) they raise it $20 a month because "what we were paying was lower than everyone else". Enough said. And then there's the mice problem, which the front desk guy told us about, and is soooo true. read more

They were good at first, now they suck. Cut my extra lock off my unit against my wishes without any permission or notification. There are signs they pressure wash the driveway INTO the units - I found a huge backwash of crap in my unit near the bottom of the door. When I was verifying I had the correct unit because they had taken my lock off the door, the goon from the office INSISTED that he stay there until I opened the door and - by his expressed desire, not my assumption - *SEE WHAT IS INSIDE*. WTF dbag? Who says you get to survey my unit at will? They have raised the rent many times, I'm paying nearly $300/month now for an external, unheated unit that gets road crap pressure-washed into it. Despise them now. DO NOT STORE YOUR STUFF HERE. It is not safe. Our unit was among several that were robbed recently. What I know from the police is someone paid cash for a unit and used a fake name and spent a weekend burglarizing the place. Public Storage requires that you purchase a low quality lock from them and it is very easy to not only break into but re-lock so from the outside it appears as if nothing was wrong. In addition to their low level of security and poor service once we noticed we were robbed we went to the front office and the employee at the front acted like he didn't even care. I expect more out of a business and wished I'd never given them a dime. Beware. read more

Mark was so helpful and informative and made the process so much easier. I needed a storage unit ASAP and he made sure I got exactly what I needed as fast as possible. The only thing I didn't like was that they don't mention that they require you to buy the lock/keys as well as insurance when you make your reservation online. It would've been good to know ahead of time considering I went online to get an estimate; that estimate ultimately ended up being different from my actual total. read more

I worked with both Stacey and Mark, two separate days in a row when I and a friend needed storage at the last minute. They were both thorough and went through the process with me. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because they change their prices day-to-day based on demand, which I suppose is part of the industry. I rented a unit and the next day my friend got one at half price. I felt like I missed out. But other than that, the facility was clean, they were both very helpful and I got what I needed! We used this location for almost 5 months and really enjoyed it. We moved to Lynnwood and no longer had need for storage but going here was always pleasant. It's clean and the employee Mark would be walking around checking to see if you needed anything or were moving out to get the process started for you at the office. John was extremely helpful; acknowledged us while he was helping another customer (I think eye contact with customers is key, even if it's just a "wait your turn" acknowledgement.) He knew his paperwork inside-out and was professional and accommodating. One recommendation - the contract for Insurance is a 3 tiered coverage level for protection. The form list the "signature" boxes High to Low, from left to right. Logic tells us that usually Left is the starting or Low priced option. I suspect this could cause confusion when people elect the degree of coverage. I think the format of the contract should be so revised. Thanks for the good experience transaction. read more

BEWARE!! The first month is NOT free because they charge you up front for the next month and then don't give you a refund when you leave within the month. I specifically asked the cashier if I would get a refund when I moved out and she assured me I would. I only used the unit for 23 days. When I vacated the unit, fully expecting the refund I was promised, I was advised that they never give refunds. Never! I tried talking to the manager about their misrepresentation when I moved in and he has not called me back. The facility itself was fine, but I do not recommend them solely because of their shady business practices. It is cheaper than Plateau Heated Self Storage across the street, but there's a reason!! read more

RETALIATORY PRICING: I am an active customer of Public Storage in Sammamish. I just received a call from the Sammamish Public Storage site manager. He told me that the District Manager for Public Storage (Jason) had agreed to cancel my recent HUGE rate increase (from $134/mo. to $155/mo. to $172/mo. over the course of around 1 year), and that I simply needed to call Jason. The site manager was unambiguous and crystal clear in his words: "Jason agreed to cancel your rate increase." When I called Jason, though, he told me that he is not going to cancel my rate increase. When I asked him what he was talking about, he berated and insulted me. Jason told me that he will cancel my recent rate increase only if I delete the review that I recently posted on Google. I explained to Jason that his request was probably illegal under Washington law and that it was definitely unethical. Even though he had already told his site manager that he agreed to cancel the rate increase, Jason told me that he will not cancel the rate increase unless I take-down my review about my experiences with Public Storage. I communicated to Jason that his actions are retaliatory and may violate Washington State's Consumer Protection Act (unfair and deceptive acts and practices). RCW 19.86. It's ironic that Jason is retaliating against a customer for posting an honest review, particularly when his site manager actively and aggressively solicits Google reviews from each of their customers. BUYER BEWARE. You should not be afraid to post reviews about your experiences with Public Storage. Instead, you should be wary about renting a storage unit from this company. It makes me wonder if other reviewers are also afraid of retaliatory pricing by this company. read more

I was so glad the Sammamish Public Storage had a unit available at such short notice. The 5x10 unit was the exact size I needed to store all my personal items while in the process of selling my home. John is a dishonest man. He specifically told me that I had to purchase insurance or he wouldn't rent the unit to me. When I went online, the PS website told me that my first month's rent would be $23 and that optional insurance was available. John "forced" me to pay $53. He also said that I could get the lock fee ($20) refunded if I returned the lock and both keys in 30 days. I rented the unit on 7/30 and returned everything on 8/30. Even though I had stopped in earlier in the week to make sure that I could check out on Sat without additional charges, he refused to refund the lock cost and charged me another $10 because I was one day past the 30 days. I thought that we were renting month to month and John never pointed out that I needed to clear out by 8/29 to avoid the additional charges or I would have done so. I ended up paying $63 for something the Public Storage website claimed I could get for $23. If this isn't a scam, I don't know what is. I would definitely avoid this outfit at all costs. read more

I didn't have any experience with a rented storage place, so did not know what to expect. From now on, my standard will be pretty high because of my experience with the Public Storage place in Sammamish, and especially, Mark, the staff person with whom I had the most interaction. There was an initial glitch when I was issued a microscopic key (not the standard size, I later learned) which I almost immediately lost, so that soured me a bit for a while, and is the reason I can't give them 5 stars. Signing up is pretty easy, but be prepared for mountains of paper as PS does everything it rightly can to cover its collective behind. The units are pretty clean and the shared spaces are, too. I would like Public Storage to not be quite so cheap, however, and pony up for a couple more carts. Also, it's a little puzzling why there is no locking door (clearly marked "door," for some reason--always causing me to chuckle) on the the "temperature controlled" building, which supposedly houses peoples' more valued stuff. (Don't worry, the "door" only allows access to the password-controlled elevator, not any of the individually-locked units, so I guess that's pretty secure). read more
